Fallout 4 possibility?

Could be a hoax, but I can dream otherwise. The timer could be until the game is announced.. Look athe site's source, has a few prepareforthefuture links (photos from the fallout website) which redirect you upon entry.. Maybe they'll be published when the countdown hits zero? Holy fucking shit.. Please don't be fake!

Some signs that it's true:

-Domain purchased by Zenimax, some of the people that brought you New Vegas and Fallout 3.

-Site's CSS (cascading style sheet, namely just the site's look) script is named 'fallout.css'

-Site's code also shows some 'prepareforthefuture' .png links (images) from the original Fallout domain, however they take you to just the age gate, so they could not be published yet and waiting for counter to hit zero.

Some signs that it's false:

- Bethesda usually uses its own servers for websites, however this domain was published with Godaddy.com; however this could be a temporary site until the game is announced? (good catch Aquila)

- Some of the scripts have hinters that assist you in code, usually put there on online guides for them.. Why would bethesda need this, they're not made as side notes but rather guides for people that don't know how to use them?

- Not much information right now...

The countdown reaches zero on December 11.  Isn't that when the Spike Video Game Awards airs?

Conspiracies aside, I need my Fallout fix!

If it is a fake, we'll know on December 11th, when the supposed reveal is said to be. However, while the domain is registered to ZeniMax (owner of Bethesda,) the domain isn't the usual one the Bethesda uses. I personally hope it isn't fake, but I'm sadly hesitant to believe.

Could be something else. But the source and such is pointing towards something Fallout-related. There is a script 'fallout.js' and '2299' is set nearly 2 decades after New Vegas takes place.. Could be something else.. but I hope.

Interesting, I've been looking forward to a new Fallout, hopefully its true. I've always liked Fallout, but the current ones fail to hold my interest after a single play through. Hears to hoping for a Fallout 4 announcement!

I heard about this earlier, I hope it isn't a hoax. If it is I will hunt down the person who is responsible and get my friend Trevor to torture them

I want a follow up to new vegas not fallout 3 though. I never liked Fallout 3's story but we shall see.

Well, it's going to happen anyway. Bethesda Studios are making a new game engine and who knows, it may be for Fallout 4.

the guy who played three-dog on fallout 3 said he would be making a return so that means they have recorded things in the studio

Odds are weighing against it so far, I'll be crushed if it proves to be something else, and I apologize if it is beforehand, but.. Damn I'm hoping..

Though the supposed teaser sight is pretty in-depth. Whatever it is, I think it's greater than a hoax. I don't know if someone would register all of that AND put up a teaser site just to trick people. But hey, some people are crazy. Here's hoping it is Fallout.

EDIT: I'm looking through the code right now for the page. It appears the MP3 is called radio/bridgeport followed by a bunch of numbers and dashes. Bridgeport is located in Connecticut. A second mp3 (I don't know if this anything,) is called radio/fall-river. Fall River is a city in Massachusetts, and it is the location of Battleship Cove (a park in which the USS Mass is located.)  There is also a link to the Bethesda Softworks youtube page. The best part it, it links to the official Bethesda Softworks Youtube channel. If this is a hoax, someone spent some serious time.

Second Edit: A further look into the source page shows this:

Seems I was partially right, Battlefield Cove is indeed in Falls River!

I edited my last post to reflect what I found on the source code page. I'm no expert on code, but look above, you might like what you see!

I hate to say it, but I'm gonna call fake. Something about this just doesn't feel right.

Yes, that's what I was referring to in the original post.

The site's CSS (style sheet) is also named fallout:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="fallout.css">

Possible, we'll see.

EDIT: Hmm... Script for countdown has side walkthroughs (used to explain a section of the code, it's marked with / so that the text isn't counted for in the text.) could just be to help out the coder (why would bethesda coders need that though.. though I doubt site building is their strong suit, but couldn't they hire someone for that?) or maybe it points towards being an evil prank?

Do we know what the morse code means? Is it just the date? Or is it more, I'm going to read into this all the way, and see what I find. Also, I noticed that it appears when the timer reaches 0, the background will change, and it will open a flash window to the Bethesda Youtube page (this is the official page, same URL.) Plus, apparently Bethesda declined to comment on it. Bethesda usually speaks out about fakes when it comes to their games.

There's no point looking into it.. Skimmed through the scripts, not much noteworthy content there.. Just action commands. Could've missed something though.

Yes, it's hosted by GoDaddy.

But to be fair, the timer is counting down to a month from now.

That's like, one payment on GoDaddy.

There's some other instance when Blizzard hosted a teaser on GoDaddy before moving it to their main servers.
