Best web page to get game scoring/review/news

8 posts in this topic

I just read a post about where one person posted name of the games and their Metacritic score.

Most people started to say that that page is not good anymore.

So I would like to know (and learn) what do you think are the best web pages to get everything about the gaming.

Having in mind the content, web page design, usefulness, feel that review are telling the truth, etc

(so no you tube channels/forums, as they don't have the ability to review all the games, post everything, etc)

I'm still faithful to Gamespot.com somehow.

The only site I use is Youtube.  If I see a game that might be interesting I search for a video showing gameplay, and make a decision based on that.  Steam shows a rating for many games, but I don't buy games based on ratings.  Really bad games tend to get named and shamed, so I don't stumble into them.

None really.

Never listen to scores. Tastes is subjective and scores is just an imaginary number based on how much that person liked it or not.

Random googling and finding random blogs is usually the best one can do. Pure descriptions and opinions on stuff is the best according to me.

There is no single place I go to. Most of them have a ... "biased" ... view of things so I use a selection of websites to read reviews and see what the most common points are that are brought up.

PC Gamer.

Rock Paper Shotgun.

I don't pay attention to scores, they are meaningless. People look at a 7 as bad but to me that's a top score. I view a perfect 10 as utter bullshit. No game is so perfect it would give Angels orgasms just to play it.

So, yeah, I read around the web and see what the general feel of a game is.

I think this site is pretty good you have angry joes reviews you can ask your fellow soldiers about games and news and you can always as for a link to other sites and YouTube for gameplay

That's what I expected to hear.

You tube and forum are now the best option. I still like some web pages to get info about old games that I missed.

News I usually use IGN since it covers games, movies and so forth other then that though, I don't trust their scores really. Only Angryjoe I trust for scores anymore. Specifically just for game news I usually use Gameinformer.
