Gameplay wise I'm sure it'll be a step up from Halo 4 now that 343 has a little experience under their belt, Story wise? I stopped caring when they added all of this contrived nonsense (The Kilo five trilogy.)  I especially dislike Palmer who has this lady hard on for anything that has to do with Dr.Halsey, also the fact that she's well.. not the best I've ever seen, actually the fact she has her rank to begin with confuses me I mean the reason she dislikes scientists (Which is explained in the comic) Is because they're smarter than her. I don't remember her exact words but she essentially hates anyone smarter than her.  (I also get the feeling they'll try for a romantic thing with Palmer and Chief after getting rid of Cortana in Four.)

So not too terribly excited for Five's story but I am excited to see what the gameplay has too offer us in the future.

Haven't read the books but I have played all the games. I really don't like the direction they're trying to take Halo, taking one of the greatest Arena shooters ever created and putting in a class system and pointstreaks was not the way to go. I really think that game devs need to stop giving into the stupid modern shooter trend and trying to cash in on what CoD succeeded in doing. The balancing on the weapons is horrible, let's say someone spawns in with a BR and another guy spawns in with an assault rifle, the guy with the BR automatically has the advantage  due to it's long range and short range capabilities, while the assault rifle can't hit shit from far away. I just feel like the older halo games were so awesome because of how satisfying it was knowing that you were winning because of your own skill, not because you killed 3 dudes got a free energy sword and went to town. And the thing I hate the most about it are the fucking pointstreaks. Pointstreaks completely remove the challenge of nabbing and keeping power weapons, why should you care that some has the rocket when you can just kill some guys and get one for free, and then when you die that leaves 2 insanely powerful weapons on the map, which someone can just pick up and rape because of someone else's death. Now I understand that there are gamemodes that remove all this but I feel that the maps were designed for those specific gamemodes so why should I even bother playing it? I'll just pop in Halo 3 and have good time doing what I love. Reach did do this do but Reach did it in a way where it didn't really matter as much and there were still plenty of modes and maps that didn't have the class shit, and I thought the armor abilities were well balanced and fun enough to love.

I just hope 343 listens to the feedback and at least attempts to make Halo 5 seem like an actual Halo game, Halo 4 felt extremely cinematic and simply deviated from the direction we had all grown so fond of. Perhaps this is just me clinging to the original trilogy, but I certainly hope they fix what they did to the elites in Halo 4. 343 basically reduced them to what the brutes were in Halo 3, devoid of their sense of honor and civility that we spent two games and several books developing. But alas, perhaps I'm too stuck in my ways.

I don't think the SP can be much worse. I'm still amazed that 343 created three of the most annoying enemy types I have ever fought.

"We need some new enemies, what should they do?"

"Heal and run."

"Perfect."

Halo 4 gameplay wise was a dealbreaker for me. I played it at a friends house and it was so CoD-like it was disgusting.

I thought the singleplayer was really short, but overall good. Multiplayer was a major overhaul. I still think Reach is the best. Best thing Halo 4 did though is the assault rifle and SAW. I don't think I've ever been into FPS gun porn until Halo 4. lol

Hope they get rid of Spartan Ops and bring back Firefight. Only have seen Spartan Ops played, but it looks really shallow.

Also debating if I would buy a Xbox One JUST for Halo. Haha

Didn't they announce that the trailer at E3 wasn't Halo 5 though?
