Never too late to buy anything, unless you can't ever get/find it. It should be cheaper now or will be in a year or so. Depends on you.

Its a best time to buy last gen consoles! Games are already cheaper and they will become even more cheaper!

So, you will be able to play all those mind blowing games without paying 50+ for a cd!

so the way i see it, is that its never too late to really buy a game console, i guess for some games that might be the case but generally its not an issue. For xbox 360, i mean its still pretty much in its prime, its got a huge game collection and its still going to be supported for a couple of years i think, so if you wanna get it while its on sale then go for it because games like halo and gears im sure people still play online and offline i heard was pretty good.

Basically what everyone else said. There are some great games on the 360 and if you have the option to get it, go for it. Especially since it will take time for worthwhile games to come out for the now current gen systems.
