This event shall be held April 18th, 2018 at 2pm EDT/7pm BST on Discord

    By RuneX, in Frontpage,

Hey all, hope everyone had a great weekend! In this article we're covering what is in store for AJSA Xbox members in terms of our scheduled events and game nights. Notably a big focus will be setting up shop in the newest version of Minecraft. Hope you enjoy and we'll see you on Xbox Live!
    News & Updates
    Minecraft Nights
On April 12th, 2018 we wrapped up our last ever event for 'Minecraft: Xbox One Edition'. Participants took part in a special, story-driven quest/adventure that spanned nearly four hours that took them across multiple biomes and landmarks. In this quest we had to track down an evil military general bent who wanted to take over this world.
We traveled to the End Fortress, a 'Tower of Fire' made of Netherbrick filled with Ghasts and Blazes, a secret military base built into a mountain, an ancient temple, and discovered a hidden underground railcart system. In the final battle, we held off a massive siege from a horde of Zombies, Creepers, Witches, Skeletens, and even a Wither at our AJSA Base. No one expected such a fight so close to home!
Thank you to everyone who participated! It was a great send off to a game that has helped grow and foster this amazing community. This week we're entering a new chapter of our Minecraft Nights on Xbox One. We're officially moving over to the new version of Minecraft starting this Thursday April 19th, 2018 at 6pm EST.
    In short:
We are keeping our community world. We can upload our world from the old version to the new version of Minecraft. Our base and possessions will be untouched. We get to enjoy all the new content without abandoning the world we've been working so hard in for the past eight months. The new version will turn our world into an 'Infinite World', meaning we no longer have any boundaries to land. Before when we reached the end of our world, we hit water. Now in the new version, new lands and biomes have spawned in. We have tons of new land and opportunities to take advantage of! No item caps, increased server capacity (more than 8 people in a world at one time), and cross-play are in the new version. The event on April 19th will focus on helping people get adjusted to the new version (crafting system, UI etc), exploring new lands, and setting up a second base in said new lands. Thank you all once again for a great send off, now let us band together once again to start this new journey. See you there!
    Featured Game Nights [April 18th & 22nd]
Xbox Game Nights were introduced back in January of this year. These are local AJSA Xbox Club activities that are normally held during days where we have no events scheduled. These organized play sessions are structured to be more loose and laidback, creating more opportunities for us as a community to reach out to more games and play even more with each other.
Going forward in each Xbox weekly article, we will feature a section that will include infomation on upcoming Game Nights on Xbox for that particular week. Not only will members see our notices in the Club but now in our forum articles as well. For additional information on Game Nights/Weekly Events, check out our Xbox Community Information thread.

AJSA Xbox One Weekly Event Schedule [April 17th to April 21st]
How Can I Join An Xbox One Event? - For new members/first time event participants, I highly encourage you to add all the hosts as your friend on Xbox Live (Gamertags are listed for every host below). You can also join the AJSA Xbox Club and add hosts/members there. All event and game night parties are launched from the Club. Additionally, please review our Code of Conduct.
Communication during events are done primarily in the Xbox Live Party system. In case of emergency, we will use the AJSA Discord Channel. We accept and make adjustments for people who are shy in large groups and/or for people who have no mics.
If by chance you do not have the host as a friend, please message the host for an invite to the game/party during the event and then exchange friend requests upon entry to the party. Most, if not all, event parties will be visible to all Xbox Club members. Look under "Looking for Group" at the start/during an event to view the event party and join up.
If you would like to give advance notice to the host that you would like to play, you are free to do so. Otherwise keep note of the event start times and join the host's Xbox Live party to begin. If you have any questions, please contact me directly at "RuneX" on the forums or on Xbox Live. To learn more about the AJSA Xbox One Division, check out our Community Information thread.

    Minecraft - Xbox One Event - Thurs. Apr. 19th, 2018 @6:00pm EST (11:00pm GMT)

Welcome to our first event for the new version of 'Minecraft' on Xbox One! Last week we concluded nearly three years worth of events for 'Minecraft: Xbox One Edition'. This week we are holding our inaugural event for Minecraft, the latest version of the game released last year as part of the 'Better Together' update.
Our community world will not be abandoned, instead we are able to upload our world from the old version to the new verion of Minecraft. This means our base and possessions will remain untouched. We get to keep our world while still being able to enjoy all the new content and features. Other benefits of the new version include but not limited to Infinite Worlds, no item caps, and we can have more than 8 people in a world at a time!
In this event will be taking people through the new UI and getting people set up with the new crafting system, among other activities and adventures set up for members to take part in.
We are starting an hour early for this event. We hope you can join us as we kick off this new journey!

COD: World War II - Xbox One Event - Apr. 20th, 2018 @7:30pm EST (12:30am GMT)

Kick off your weekend with Call of Duty: World War II with the AJSA! Season 3 Ranked Play, custom games, Ground War, new maps, and more await you this Friday night. We welcome players of all skill levels! We don't care about K/D, just about having a good time!
During this event we will feature both online and custom game modes for attendees to participate in. If there is enough interest, we can set up groups for Zombies mode as well. A new update to the game is expected to drop sometime this week before the event, so make sure you have your game up to date so you can play right away Friday night!
    See you at Headquarters.

    Overwatch - Xbox One Event - Sat. Apr. 21st, 2018 @7:00pm EST (12:00am GMT)

The AJSA Overwatch crew on Overwatch takes the lead this Saturday night for another round of 'Retribution'! Overwatch: Uprising returned as 'Overwatch Archives' and this time we're playing as agents from 'Blackwatch' in a new mision called 'Retribution'. The reception towards this PvE mode during our last event was very postitive, so once again we're going to have squads set up again for attendees to tackle the modes for achievements and loot boxes.
Tons of new skins and cosmetic content are coming to the game as part of this sasonal update. Earn easy loot by squading up with your fellow AJSA members in a mix of online and custom games as we take part 'Overwatch Archives'. We're squading up at our normal time this Saturday night at 7:00pm EST.

Battletech arcades were decades ahead of their time, holding global 3D matches before we'd even played a SNES - here's their story

    By RuneX, in Frontpage,

Hey all, Happy Monday! Spring Break is over here in the Xbox One Division. Once again I'd like to thank all our organizers and members who made March an amazing month for AJSA gaming here on Xbox! Things aren't not slowing down one bit after this break. We're recharged and ready to get back in the fight. Our week back is jam packed with adventure and good fun! In this article we unviel to you not only what we're playing this week but also provide to you our complete April activity outline. Plan ahead and game on. Cya at the events!
    News & Updates
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Last Event [Apr. 12th]
This Thursday night on April 12th, 2018 at 7:00pm EST will be our last event for 'Minecraft: Xbox One Edition' before we move over organizing efforts to the new version of 'Minecraft'. In short, here on Xbox One we have two different versions of Minecraft. There is the 'Xbox One Edition' (the successor to....you guessed it...the Xbox 360 Edition) and then just 'Minecraft', the new version that was released in September 2017. The new version offers more content, online servers, cross-play, no item caps, infinite worlds, and much more.
Thanks to your feedback, we're moving our community world to the new version on April 19th, 2018. The current community world we play in now was originally founded back in August 2017 and we've been going strong since. We're all happy we can continue to play and expand our world in this new version.
Before then we're going to hold a special send-off celebration of the Xbox One Edition in the form of a story-driven, multi-step adventure/quest that members will participate in. Travel across new lands, battle massive mob armies, and discover secrets hidden deep in the darkest corners of the world...
We originally started events for Minecraft: Xbox One Edition all the way back in August 2015 and ever since then Minecraft has been a staple within the AJSA community on Xbox One. Minecraft has helped grow and sustain this amazing community for nearly three years. We are closing this chapter of Minecraft with this event, but a new one will be started shortly after. We hope you can join us in new journey. Thank you.
    Featured Game Nights [April 11th & 15th]
To help usher in our first week back, we have two Game Nights prepared for you:
    Wednesday April 11th - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds - 7:00pm EST - Host: Sickshock6 Sunday April 15th - Sea of Thieves - 7:00pm EST - Host: Sickshock6

AJSA Xbox One Weekly Event Schedule [April 10th to April 14th]
