How can't you believe that a bad developer made a bad game? Or did you mean that you can't believe how they even got the license?

I think TB already explained this well enough in his video about this certain game, so AJ's 'review' would be another dead horse kickfest. Even if he would make a review out of it in the next week or so, it still wouldn't be review, but an early look at the game.
    Here is the video
For those who don't like his content, he explains the history of Warhammer 40k video game side, and then he explains what problems the game has. The problems are confusing advertising (earlier it had ''beta'' in its title, but it wasn't in the early access category), clone of their older title with difference being the 40k assets (even the tutorial texts are completely copy pasted from the original game) with less details and complexity in the tech trees.

My big problem with this is that they just slap the 40k on it, and clone their own game with expectations that people would buy it with €10, when the original game costs around 5€

Reviews are not ''Buy this game'' or ''Don't buy this game''.
A good review tells what kind of gameplay the game includes, it takes notes of how good graphics are etc. It give consumer information, so they can adjust their opinion of the game, if they like it or don't. You can't make an honest opinion out of trailers, screenshots or what the developers have claimed. If you look at the Aliens:CM footage, you can clearly see that it's completely different from the final version. Maybe from LP you could make some kind of idea, but you're not playing it, and LPers rarely explain how it feels to play the game.
Wise man once said ''Smart people learn from mistakes. But real sharp ones learn from the mistakes of others''. Gaming media is here to protect the consumer from bad and awful games, not to to tell us what we have to buy and what not.

It's your money, so buy whatever you want, but you wouldn't buy a car or house without seeing it first, it's a bad comparison, but for some people buying a game might be almost as big deal as buying a car because of their money situation. The money is not the only issue, but the fact that you would support a bad company for a bad game is absurd. If people keep supporting bad video games, it might mean another crash on the industry, just like in 1980's.

  5. Cheufade liked a post in a topic by Vikeyev in Men of War: AS2 Bait and switch ripoff
I found this on the Cynical brit sub redit, I also checked the community hub to have a look and apparently the company has pulled a bait and switch and IMHO fucked over there customers.

For those of you who don't know what the game is: http://store.steampowered.com/app/244450/

What the company has done, is they offered the game on Pre-order, but today when it was supposed to be released, they changed it to Early Access.

So basically, they tricked people into thinking they were Pre-ordering a full release game then quickly changed it to Early Access right before releasing it. They have also removed the refund button, meaning people can't get a refund from them, they have to attempt to get a refund from Valve. Anyone who has attempted that knows just how difficult and near impossible that can be.

This is such a detestable practice, this is false advertising and DigitalMindSoft and their publisher 1C Company should be charged for doing this to people. Now, the company claims it did this because the game wasn't ready to be released, but it could have just extended the release date instead of turning it into Early Access.

They published a small notice on their site about changing to Early Access......yesterday. Giving people one day to read it on (correction)*the steam community hub*.

I must admit I've never even heard of the franchise before today, or the Devs for that matter and apparently the franchise is rather good. But still, doing something like that should never be accepted, it potentially opens the flood gates to any company wishing to milk money from their fan base with a quick bait and switch.
Everyone should listen to Total Biscuit when he says, you shouldn't pre-order games. It would stop this practice in it's tracks.

I don't know what to say. He has already made tons of money, by showing videos from other people and making obnoxious comments over those clips, so this isn't going to be anything huge. He's just going to sit on his chair for the rest of his life, and probably waste his money, while more is flowing in.
  7. Rhovanor liked a post in a topic by Cheufade in Encouraging gamers not to pre-order
The act of pre-ordering, according to Cartman:

Pre-ordering a game, just further encourages companies to make pre-order exclusive content, which then again encourages people to pre-order. Instead of paying $55 for a game that possibly might be awful, you could pay $60, and further support the developer who made a good game. What's the hurry of paying for nothing? The game won't be released any faster, than it will be. I'm not going to buy Dark Souls 2, after the fiasco that DS was in the first place. I'll wait up till Elder Geek, or some other PC focused gaming site will make a review out of the PC port.

I think TB has a great video about this topic:

  9. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Cheufade in EU to talk with Google and Apple about mobile games
Oh, EU... You never surprise me.
I think this case is the same as ''bent bananas and cucumbers'' directive. They tried to regulate on how bent the bananas and curvy the cucumbers were, so they could pack them more efficiently, but (surprise surprise) cucumber and bananas didn't go the way EU wanted it to go.
The thing over here is that ''achieving anything worthwhile'' is subjective thing. Something like mining a wall on Dungeon Keeper (2014) might be a huge achievement for me, but for someone else that might be nothing. Also the fact that you don't really achieve anything while you play, except ingame achievements and personal achievements.

No matter how you look these games, they are free to play, it's just that the gameplay might be very dull most of the time, so that's when the critiques come in. If game claims that it's F2P, then you play it like any other F2P game. If the game is boring for the most of the time you play it, then you might as well give it a bad score or note about that.
The government is not the only one that is able to do anything about it, the consumers are: You don't download these games = they don't make these games. If EU starts to regulate something like this, then gaming companies will only add a little more content before you will hit another paywall. The regulating itself is another question, how are you going to do it? Is the game F2P until you hit first paywall? How long the paywall needs to be, so it can be called as paywall? How long you have to wait until the paywall will drop down? And the questions go on.

If a server for this forum alone is over $200 a month...can you imagine how much it will cost to run and maintain what you are asking for? I mean more power to you if you are loaded of course. But as someone else said, after reading that draft you are going to have to go far more into detail of what your team is capable of. This letter as is just sounds like the equivalent to "Mr. Obama, can you please lower taxes because my company deserves a tax break for working so hard".
  11. Emphase liked a post in a topic by Cheufade in Thief 4 might suck
There is a difference between a good AI and fun AI. If they would make one of the most realistic AIs ever, you should be in total darkness and wait for long time until the guard might move a little left, so you can move behind them, just so they can feel something moving around and then brutally murder you.
Gaming AI is not supposed to be the most realistic AI, it's supposed to be fun, not in a way that it would be impossible to sneak around the NPC. I don't know a single game where AI would have acted like a real person. In AC4 the AI can't see you on a broad daylight, even though the leaves hardly cover you. In Dishonored the guards can't take a look on top of any things, such as small guard posts and lantern poles.

There is a reason why they give AI ''the IQ of cabbage'', and it's because otherwise it would be impossible, and if the game would be unbeatable, then no one would play it.

I'm seriously questioning the people who promote this. Sure, he murdered people, sure he's nut, but this is just what he wants. He wants to be promoted, he wants that, so maybe some other nut will take him as the role model, and then commit horrible acts. We should just forget these people and let them rot in their prison cells.

A few points I need to make:

Both the Xbox One and PS4 are capable of 1080p. Also http://hothardware.com/News/Microsoft-Reportedly-Relaxing-Kinect-Requirements-Returning-GPU-Power-To-Primary-Console/
The Source engine has been in continued development since 2004, making sure It Isn't obsolete.
    And http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/topic/14096-titanfall-to-receive-resolution-boost/?hl=792p

Moving on, Titanfall may be overhyped, but It certainly doesn't look like a bad game by any measure. I honestly do not get the constant CoD copy claims. They're both FPS games, It's a given that there will be similarities. Same with the Mech aspect, were people honestly expecting Titanfall to just be a revolution in both FPS games and Mech games? It's more than likely going to be great value for money, Joe seems very entertained by it as well.

I find the hate for it to be completely without proper cause. The overhype It's generated probably stems from each individuals uninformed ideas about what the game should be, not what It actually is.
  14. Cheufade liked a post in a topic by Amagic in Rome 2 or Shogun 2?
I'm just not getting through, am I? This is about facts, not personal preferences or opinions. We've already established that we both like Medieval 2 over Shogun 2 right? Neat. The problem is that you just don't understand what quality means here. Shogun 2 improves on the Total War formula so far, like the games before it... kind of (we don't talk about Empire). In essence, Shogun 2 is an improved version of everything that Medieval 2 has. Improved mechanics, improved graphics and aesthetics, improved diplomacy, improved AI and so on. That is what peak condition means, to perform at the best of your ability. Everything that is in Shogun 2 is what CA has learned since Medieval 2 and applied to it to create a higher quality product. The capability to learn and improve with every new creation is what defines a difference in quality for me.

This is a large part of why Rome 2 sucks. They improved on nothing at all and in many cases took a gigantic leap backwards.

The two male characters are Rambo (or Sylvester Stallone) and Mr. T, while the female character might be overall parody from pop princesses (not entirely sure). The character models are not ugliest in terms of graphical standpoint.

''Rich get richer, poor get poorer''... First of all, this term is used in games that have match built shop (or whatever you want to call it), where the person who completes objective will get money (In CS you get by killing enemies, planting bomb, winning round, losing round etc.). In Loadout there is no shop, everyone will have their same weapons throughout the game, and these weapons are usually very balanced. There is no way to get poorer in this game, only richer since completing objective will give you some amount of the currency that will let you buy weapon upgrades. Even the upgrades don't matte, since the default weapons kill enemies pretty darn fast. The game is truly one of the only F2P games, since it gives no advantage for paying players, other than XP, character customization and currency boosters, but that's it.

''upgrade you gun to the point of pure nonsense and it's not even a challenge anymore''
You can't. I'll explain how the weapon system works:
Each weapon has base damage, and by upgrading it with certain upgrades, it will lose damage or gain it, but the DPS will always stay around the same. If I have rocket launcher that has damage of 100 and the reload time of 1.5 secs, the DPS will be 66.67. What if I add quad barrel to it? If the damage would stay same, then it would be pretty OP weapon, but because the damage will be cut to 30 and the time you need to wait between shooting the each rocket is 0.3 secs, then the DPS will be: (30*4)/((0.7*3)+1.5)) exactly 50. It's 16.67 damage less, but the cost is that you have smaller risk of missing. You have 4 rockets to shoot, so the probability of you missing 4 is a lot smaller than it would be if you had only one.

Before you start criticizing games, you should play them enough. Your steam profile said that you had 0.3 hours = 18 minutes with the game, so you have barely even touched the game. 18 minutes is hardly enough for anyone to actually get the idea of how this game works. You had at maximum 2 matches if you just rushed through the tutorial, and that's not enough. Nothing angers me more than idiots who just blame games being bad after trying it out but failing in it hardly, or for some other reason.

No, absolutely no! Reviewer is never supposed to review a game from certain ''side''. If he's a big fan of CoD, but he hates BF, then he's supposed to review it as the person he is, not as a CoD fan or BF hater. As long as the criticism is valid, it's a good review. I thought that the review was fair and gave valid points to the game. It was short, but well written review.

No reason to pre-order a game for a beta. If it turns out to be bad, then it's 49€ wasted right down the drain. They did open the beta for BF4 after week in the pre-order beta, so why would you take risk and play it just one week earlier, when you can play it one week later for free.
