So I was thinking that a AJSA minecraft server would be really cool, anyone agree. It could be the factions type server, or just basic survival or something like that. I'm not formally requesting this for a AJSA official or anything like that because (A. I don't know if anyone would be admin to it, I'm to busy with school to do that, (B. I don't know if this game was already asked to be officially supported by the AJSA and failed, and (C. I don't know if anyone else would play on it. I just think something like that would be fun.

all of my gameservers consist of the following specs:
Dual Xeon quad core
32-128gb of ram
SSD drive in raid with multi level redundant backups
10gbp/s uplink speeds and 1gb/s redundant backup NIC
I run my own IT & Website bussiness, this has been a passion of mine since i started all this 6 years ago.
pros and cons
pro1: Massive player base - easy to expand any community
pro2: Extreme flexibility in plugins, all code is open source
pro3: Server are run how we see fit, after all these are TRUE dedciated server with 24/7 Paid staff
con1: Costly servers are expensive and Minecraft is a resource hog
con2: Huge time sink - even the smallest builds or plugins can take hours to days
con3: High "kid" base - most players are young kids that cry alot
The plan for the server is as follows:
PVP Factions - this server will be designed to hold all out war, all factions will be competing in the race to achieve greatness
and hold the server. The way this is obtained is a constant circle of raiding and pillaging.
located on this server will also be PVP based minigames, and custom plugins developed by me and my staff.
Please note this server was started 2 days prior to the posting of this, and therefore is still in development. we are seeking people to help us stress test
and work with us in building a top-notch community.
PVE Factions - this server is based on the "Survival element" players are spawned in, given a days worth of food and some basic tools.
from there it is up to them to develop their land, design their building and put their building skills up against all others.
This server will have controlled PVP and is designed to be more of an economy server. gather your resources, mass produce them, and sell them to other players
thus achieving a wealth status far above what others can dream of having.
Server 3: Up for suggestion
Server 4: Modded server ( Currently taking suggestions on which mod poeple would like to see being further developed )
Please keep in mind i will be taking full cost of all server bills, all servers are hosted under my bussiness and payed for by me and/or the company.
Thank you for your time!
feel free to comment with you Minecraft username and join us for our upcoming beta/stress test Monday July 20th, 2014

Madfinnishgamer38 liked a post in a topic by JarlBalgruuftheGreater in What does it mean to be a "real" gamer?
a "real gamer" is someone who's passionate about video games. If a person only likes one type of game or they only like a certain generation of games, their still gamers. I don't like the term "real gamer". Like if a baseball fan doesn't like every sport ever or doesn't know every play that doesn't mean he's not a real fan. If someone truly loves video games, that makes them a "real gamer".

For my long hard work I was paid,
So I went to the shopping arcade.
And since neither my thumbs are yet lame,
I thought to pick up a new game.
Imagine my shock when I found
There were not any games around
Instead the shelves were filled (all the spaces)
With promotional DVD cases
"O sir why do you want me to pay,
for a game that is not out today?"
"But sir!" Called the man with a shout
"You do not know what you're about!
"Tis true that these games aren't out yet
But it's better for you from the outset!
For a preorder bonus mayhaps,
You enjoy a few extra maps?
Or if you're wardrobe is thin,
How about a player character skin?"
"Can I simply not purchase today
Then take my goods home to play?"
"But sire how will you feel a week later
when you have no access to the beta?
If you preorder Sniper Elite three
You can shoot Hitler for Free!"
I paused at this last for spell
as that did sound fun as all hell,
But instead I cried "No!
Give me Transfomers to Go!"
And I got it home and it was shit.

But it's parody, aren't they legally allowed to use copyrighted content and property if it's for parody?
Also, millions of TV shows and movies smear Lindsay Lohan's image and make jokes about her, and she doesn't care, but when a video game makes an incredibly loose representation of bad actresses in Hollywood, she takes legal action. Something's not right here.

3 Gaming forum rules to live by:
1. If someone asks Do you think I should buy a or b ? Don't recommend C because a and b are dumb and you hate them and you will question the sexual preference of people who like a or b.
2. If you have no opinion on a topic, poll etc don't post anything. Nobody cares that you don't care.
3. DO NOT FEED THE FLAME TROLLS.

Well, yeah you're right. And the AJSA usually does a very good job when having discussions about anything.
You have to keep in mind that the fanboys and extremists are always just a very small, yet quite loud minority.
Sadly though, there will always be people who'll love something enough to blind their common sense. It's really not something we have the power to stop, but we can encourage a more mature way of dealing with these people.
Kaz32 liked a post in a topic by JarlBalgruuftheGreater in Should i Buy Borderlands 2 Game of the Year edition?
Yeah, like what Kaz said. You're going to need to do a lot of grinding and weapon switching. I do like the look of Borderlands and even though I usually don't like those types of games I really like the game. Also the DLC is fairly cheap ($5.00 for 1 DLC pack) and has a few hours of play time, so if you do like Borderlands I would highly suggest getting some.
JarlBalgruuftheGreater liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in Should i Buy Borderlands 2 Game of the Year edition?
Ps3 is different from PC you know. Framerate will be better depending on your computer specs, but the graphic is the same.
I have Borderlands 2, and I played it for 7 hours. Got bored afterwards because it's the same thing over and over again. I personally wouldn't buy this because I don't like action games where headshots has to be done 10 times to kill someone. Plus I don't like games that require too much grinding and constant weapon switching, like Diablo 3 or Darksiders 2.
But if you like these 2 games and the game style is right up your alley, then it's a good buy.
JarlBalgruuftheGreater liked a post in a topic by DemonsColt in A caveat regarding GTA V on PC.
After heading back to Game-Debate.com and seeing the loads of PC gamers excited about the release of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and articles popping up about how the PC version is better than the next gen version, I need to create this little warning to people who are considering getting GTA V on PC.
Please DO NOT preorder GTA V on PC. Rockstar Games has a very sketchy past with PC ports of their games and this game could be poorly optimized. Please wait until the game is released and check sources like PCGamingWiki, TotalBiscuit, Rock Paper Shotgun, and even PC Gamer to check for a report on the port of the game.
Also, please DO NOT brag about the upcoming PC release of GTA V. This game has not been released yet and if the game does have poor optimization, the bragging could blow up in PC gamers' faces and could cause even more trouble. I do not condone this in any way, but you don't want to make yourself look like a jacka$$ when the game is released.
I'm not saying don't buy the game, but please be smart about this and know when to purchase GTA V when the game is released. That said, enjoy the PC version of GTA V and big hopes for a well optimized game. It is a fantastic game and it is wonderful that the game is reaching to Next Gen and PC.
JarlBalgruuftheGreater liked a post in a topic by Mr_E_Meatshield in A caveat regarding GTA V on PC.
No one should be bragging about a game that's coming out on the platform that they support in any case anyway. It's childish and just causes a further divide in gamers. Be happy that a game's coming out for you, but don't rub it into other peoples faces like a five year old.
Be proud about your achievements in a game, not that a game is coming out on the system you like, or that it'll be better compared to others that you deem inferior.
