I've been a fan of Angry Joe as long as I can remember. I picked up traces of Angry Joe on the Gametrailers forums back in the day, like, yeaaaaaars ago.
I immediately fell in love with the ManChild he was and I saw myself in him. Being an adult but also being able to love the child in myself.
His love for video games inspired me to love video games even more.
As for myself, I'm 30 and I live in Norway and I wish I signed up here years ago. I've played games since i was around 5 or 6 when my dad introduced me to them on PC back in the old times.
I also had a friend from Finland move to Norway as a kid and that was the first time i played the Super Nintendo and the following Christmas.. I too was an owner of a Super Nintendo.
And that's how it began. I started with the SNES but i played both sega models out at the time and the original NES. I then moved to the N64 and Playstation, which lead me to the XBOX and Playstation 2. Next system was a 360 which I bought when I got my first ever job, well, it was more of a trainee position as a web designer (no longer though) and then on tax returns I got a PS3! ... Later I bought the PS4 and I never really picked up the XBOX 1 as I have a gaming PC already.
As for who I am outside gaming, I love helping people and without making this dramatic or sad, I've been taking care of my mother from the age of 13 along with my father. I understand that people struggle both mentally and physically and I respect them for their struggles and when I can help i do so. She passed in Feb. 7, 2018 at which point i made a choice that my father is never going to be alone, ever! He's 76 and in great shape and there are no dangers to his health, so I live together with him and I wouldn't want it any other way!
I love and believe in people, even though people can be real rotten sometimes, thought there is generally a reason for that but, there are exceptions to that rule. I recognize good people pretty easily and the AJSA community from my perspective is a bunch of good people who join together for gaming!
Also, Joe and OJ specifically
I love you two more than most other youtube personalities. OJ always smiling, teasing AJ and AJ looking like a father inspiring OJ. I love this. I wish I could be your friend too!
Maybe one day!
But for now!
AJSA all the way, I only wish I had joined sooner.
DoctorEvil liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in The Painscreek Killings obscure game review. Murder mystery done awesomely.
Steam Sales time, and I got this game to tinker around with for only $5. Wow, what an unexpectedly great game!
In this game, you're playing as a journalist named Janet Kelly who is tasked with investigating the murder of woman named Vivian Roberts, the wife of the mayor of Painscreek who was found dead in front of her home. You just have to find out 3 simple things:
1) Who killed her
2) What's the murder weapon
3) Take a great photo for the article
You have to explore the town of Painscreek for your answers. Luckily for you, the entire town is deserted completely because everyone moved away after the murder shook the entire town, so you're free to explore the town at your own leisure. You'll discover bits and pieces of what truly happened in this town until you finally reach the ultimate truth, and boy oh boy, what an awesome story this game has.
The gameplay is actually very 90s adventure esque in that you will search every nook and cranny everywhere to find objects which contains a keycode to unlock a desk/padlock/box, tools to open something & keys to open doors to important people's houses. Unlike Walking Sims nowadays where you just walk all day, you actually have to release your inner detective and solve a lot of puzzles while also go around to different places once you found the necessary item needed to progress to the next step of your investigation. The game doesn't hold your hands, so you have to manually figure out codes to puzzles & where to put keys in their right spots. Ahhhh, the good old days of puzzle solving. You will definitely feel good once you unlock a door in this game as it will most likely lead you towards the next step of your investigation, which initially starts off quite tame, until you found notes belonging to a private detective named Steve Moss that really reveals a lot of cool stuff that turns a simple "find out who murdered this person" plot to "wtf is going on in this town???"
Depending on how much of a puzzle lover you are, you can complete the game in 5 - 7 hours if you want to solve the mystery of this game. Or you can just get out of town by car/ walking if you want to end the game early, in which case you'll be fired, unless you took a blind guess & got the right answer by chance. But that ain't fun am I rite??? The coolest thing is that if you actually managed to find who the true culprit is, the game doesn't just end with "mission complete". Oh hell no. The final section of the game will send chill down your spine. I panicked so hard that I immediately pause the game and have to take a break. I calmed down afterwards but damn, I wasn't expecting that!
The only negative I can say about this game other than once you beat the game you know the whole plot and may not want to play it again is that there's a lot of backtracking just to find different keys required to get new info & enter the next area. For example:
I have to find a key to a glove compartment in a car. To get that key, I have to go to an inn and read a memo inside a room. But to get the key required to enter the room, I have to go to so many different places, enter a sewer to get to the location where the key is, find the key in a morgue, get inside the room which has a memo that tells me the code to the police station desk, which finally give me the key to the glove compartment. This happens surprisingly often with other stuff. I'm having fun doing it though because each progress I made rewards me with more info on the plot of the game.
Get this game right now while it's $5 on Steam sale, if you're a fan of mystery games and don't mind a lot of backtracking that is. It's a great detective game that makes you do actual detective work, with a great plot to cap it all off & a satisfying end at the end of it all, even if it's quite depressing. I give this game my rating of "so damn good that it released the inner Sherlock Holmes within me."

DoctorEvil liked a post in a topic by Arreyanne in Get it Now! (New Item)
The Master’s Datacron
Starting with ’A Traitor Among the Chiss’ (Game Update 5.6) on November 28th, there will be a new item introduced to the Cartel Market called the Master’s Datacron. This item will allow you to take any non-maximum level (70) character on your account and immediately move them up to maximum level. One unique thing about this boost is that it doesn’t progress your character’s story at all, meaning this is a great way to play through the classic Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ storylines without worrying about your character level!
The Master’s Datacron also comes with the Eternal Commander Equipment bundle. Once you have boosted to max level and chosen your character’s Discipline (more on this below), you can use the equipment bundle to have a full set of level 70 gear for your character. So, whether you are boosting a new level 1 character to play through the story, or you just want to get right to 70 to jump into group activities with your friends, the Master’s Datacron has everything you need.
Since this is the first time we have offered an item like this, find out more about how the item works below.
To start, you will need to acquire the Master’s Datacron and Equipment Bundle. You can purchase it directly from the Cartel Market for 2,000 CC, or you can check the Galactic Trade Network (GTN) to see if another player is selling one. Once you have them, you will need to ensure that they are moved to the character that you intend to boost. As a reminder, the Master’s Datacron will not work on an existing level 70 character.
Opening the bundle will grant your character two items, the Master’s Datacron and the Eternal Commander Equipment box. When you are ready to boost your character to max level, go ahead and right click on the Datacron in your inventory (make sure you are using it on the character you want to boost)! This will begin an eight second cast timer which says, “Promoting to level 70.” With the cast bar complete, you will receive two pop-ups confirming that this is the character that you want to boost. Note: This decision is final and irreversible.
Once confirmed, the screen will fade to white and you will be transported to your player ship, which you will be granted as a part of the Master’s Datacron if you don’t already have one. For those players who want to experience unlocking their ship naturally through the story, you’ll still be able to do so. While on your ship, you will notice a Mission in your log named “Master’s Datacron” with the text “Increasing level.” After a few seconds, that Mission will complete and your character will become level 70.
At this point, you should head to your Discipline window (default shortcut key of K) to choose your Class’s Discipline if you haven’t already. This is important as a Discipline is required to use the Eternal Commander’s Equipment box.
With your Discipline selected, head to your inventory and right click on the Equipment box. This will grant you a full set of gear, based on your chosen Discipline.
You’re all set! Your character is now max level and ready to roam the galaxy. You can see any Missions you were on previously in your Mission log. Feel free to continue your existing Missions or explore the galaxy!

My name is Jonathan Baron and I'm a thoroughly burned-out old game dev, looking to keep my ear to the ground.
After a lengthy tour with Kesmai Corporation to work on Air Warrior in the pre-Internet days (the Internet was there, of course, but not for games), I had a brief stint at OSI in Austin, TX working on Ultima Online and the ill-fated Privateer Online.
Went to Microsoft Corporation to work on the platform launch team for Xbox live. A rather dreadful place to work.
Back to Austin to develop a new MMO for SOE. We proposed a post-apocalyptic setting, figuring that would be the next wave. Problem was this was in 2003 and rather horrified the folks in San Diego.
Many stints later I found myself in Munich, Germany with a great workforce but no appetite for risk among management and decided I’d finally had enough. The MMO had committed suicide, the financial model for games had become predatory, and gaming seemed to have entered a period of creative hibernation. Just my opinion, of course.
I’m 65 and retired. Always enjoyed Angry Joe’s reviews so I figured I’d hang out here if you don't mind and read what you folks have to say and what you enjoy.

DoctorEvil liked a post in a topic by Malphisto in Destiny 2 review. Kept ya waiting huh? :D
I have literally been holding off on listening to anything related to Destiny 2.
As a Day 1 player of the first Destiny, I saw first hand how the game so many had so much hope for was slowly ruined and turned into the mess that it is today. Vanilla Destiny was good, but the game was just...lacking in so much. And that basically defines the entire franchise at this point. Just a damn shame.
I was first introduced to Joe's channel with his previous Destiny Review. Became a fan ever since. Its rare to come across a game reviewer who is actually honest and tells it like it is.
Ever since this review was posted, I've been finding myself getting into arguments with people in the youtube comments. I try to ignore it, but the sort of mental gymnastics they do to justify their blatant bullshit just drives me nuts. I mean seriously, some of the crap these people say;
"Joe is a liar!"
How is anything he said in the review a lie?
"Joe didn't even play the Raid!"
He did experience the Raid... And regardless, why the hell is the Raid so crucially important like it could somehow magically invalidate any and all negative points being presented about the rest of the game? O_o
"Oh, this just isn't Joe's kind of game."
...How do you even know that? How does him having a negative opinion about the game automatically translate to that? So anyone who doesn't give the game a high score are only doing so because its just "not their kind of game"?
Its friggen daffy. Its like the people who try to say "Oh man! Destiny 2 is a whole new game!"
Delrith hit the nail on the head with that during his rant on the Twitch stream, its not some whole new experience.
There is one thing I would have liked Joe to touch on as well, which would have been the fact that Bungie literally swept EVERYTHING OF INTEREST from the original game under the rug.
Sooooooooooooooo many people wanted to actually travel into and explore the Last City. There was so much potential with it. Interactive NPCs, Player Housing, Shopping District to open up the possibilities for items and crafting, a Recreation Center (Something akin to like the Gold Saucer from FF7 where you could spend Glimmer to play Arcade Games, possibly even some of Bungie's older games like Oni or Marathon, Sparrow Racing simulator, etc.), CLAN HALLS (Different spaces you can spend Glimmer on to buy and fully customize for you and your Clan Members to access and hang out in to actually socialize), interactive benches and seats for you to actually sit on like a normal person, etc. SO MUCH that people were wanting to see done with the Last City.
And what does Bungie do? THEY DESTROY THE WHOLE THING!
Or what about the Speaker?
Everyone was waiting for him to actually explain shit to us. The original story for Destiny written by Joseph Staten even had the Speaker as being a central character and hinted at him being a primary antagonist for the plot. It was supposed to be a huge deal. Again, so much potential to be had there.
And what does Bungie do? THEY KILL HIM OFF LIKE ITS NOTHING! You don't even care that he's dead, either. His death is so meaningless because they did NOTHING to actually establish his character. Its the same damn thing with the Awoken Queen apparently getting killed in Taken King right at the start. I mean seriously?
First they butcher Joseph Staten's masterpiece and then they just gradually kill off and destroy all the remaining fragments of his story.
Destiny was meant to be so much more than it turned out to be. Its a damn shame.
Thank God for Anthem...
