I don't know whether to be worried or strangely aroused.

Of the games you mentioned, I only ever played Golden Eye. That game was great. Another great one in the same vain as you're talking about was Mario Party, playing that with 4 friends would keep us entertained for hours.
And to answer the question, it will never happen again in today's or future gaming, which is a little saddening.

Mmmh.... Mario Wörld 3D could have the potential to do this... it's 4 player and it looks amazing.

Yes! I want super mario 3d world but I don't have a wii u. :/
And I know exactly what you are talking about with the good times playing split screen and watching each other play games. I actually had time splitters 2 on ps2, but I think future perfect was better. There is still some potential for fun split screen sitting around the tv with friends. I mean recently well, in the past months recently me and my friend had fun playing twisted metal online split screen. That game also has 4 player split screen. He also watched me play through about half of the last of us. Halo 2 was the best for playing split screen multiplayer! I do find it pretty lame most games online now days dont even have split screen options. Also it could be partly just finding a cool friend who is willing to play with you that way! This is why I look forward to having the new super smash bros on 3ds.... Also not to hate pc gaming but not being able to play games on a tv split screen sucks imo, unless you have multiple pcs in the same room with a lan connection its not going to happen.

So yeah, don't traumatize your kids or your friends' kids!
They'll be f-ing messed up.
Tj Laser liked a post in a topic by pureimagination in What do you think of insomniac's game series?
Yeah I'm excited to play resistance! I was going to buy the trilogy months ago but I ended up playing through like 3 or 4 other fps games and felt somewhat burnt out on first person shooters but now I want too. Although the new rachet and clank is kind of short it's only 30 dollars and comes with a download of quest for booty so I think it's still reasonable. I think some people are turned off when they here a game is too short. Maybe it would be better for them so to spend more time on one particular rachet and clank or resistance ps4 game and make it longer and epic.

resistance 2 was alright i though, but i absolutly love resistance 3. i agree that they are just dragging out rachet and clank though. the problem is, they cant seem to get it right with their recent titles, burning sky on vita and fuse. the new R&C game is short, and they are comfortable with that series which helped, but they need to move on. i bet they will make resistance 4 though. its a recognizable playstation brand that they will want to get out there. it did sell INCREDIBLY poor but also almost ALL playstation exclusives sell really shitty (not usually as bad as resistance 3 though XD), but they move consoles, which moves more hardware. they get you on the system with "oh, i used to play fall of man, imma get ps4" or "god of war kicks ass and i like it more than dead rising, imma have to get ps4" and then you buy COD and all that other 3rd party shit for that system. thats why i mostly play ps3, so many good exclusives. i buy all my games for ps3 and my xbox collects dust most of the time. i hope they do well, and make a resistance 4. sorry it was so long and kinda off topic a little, im really bored XD

So, the makers of FTL just announced a new, completely free expansion pack for their game! It will feature:
Mind Control System: Temporarily turn enemies into allies. Force a boarder to repair the damage they just did, or have the enemy pilot sabotage their own helm. Hacking System: Lockdown and disrupt enemy systems. Unique effects for each system, ranging from forcing a teleporter remove boarders to making the medbay damage instead of heal. New Sector and Events: Our writer Tom Jubert has returned along with special guest writer Chris Avellone (of Planescape fame), who managed to find some time for us between his work on Project Eternity and Wasteland 2. They’ve been helping us add a new sector and scatter new events throughout the rest of the game. New Weapons and Effects: Many new weapons that take advantage of new mechanics: overcharging to increase the number of volleys, stun effects to freeze crew, and area effect targeting, to name a few. And more systems, drones, augments, enemy ships, enemy layouts, and hostile environments. All of which we’ll be sure to talk about more in the coming weeks! All that and more! FTL vanilla will still be available, and all new stuff can be disabled from the hangar before starting to play. This is really exciting news! I love FTL, and spent 50 frickin' hours before my first victory. This will be glorious!
