I've been running f.lux for a few days now and while I don't notice it much in the day time I certainly do at night when the natural light has gone. The contrast between my monitor screens and the relatively poorly lit room I'm in is far less severe than it was and it's helping an awful lot. I'm actually finding that now in the evenings I get physically tired rather than just having 'tired eyes'.

Hopefully this will be a free solution to my issues, will update as necessary Thanks for the suggestion trooper, so far so good!
  2. Trooper liked a post in a topic by Gobu in Training Suggestion: Air Campaign Mode
After Sunday 01/18/15, most of us enjoyed the last bit which was the Japanese offensive on Pearl Harbor.
I thought, why not a whole air campaign with the axis vs allies. Just to take a break from the ground force campaign once in a while.
It is also seen that the main bombers do not get to see combat in the ground force campaign and thought, this is where they could shine.
This mode would be similar to that of the ground force campaign except with some differences.

    *Rules and Regulations:
    1. Points are allocated based on BR and similar to that of how much each player costs which I believe is 2.5 per a player.
    2. There is will be bases that are specific to that of each nation, aka pearl harbor and Berlin. (More of the bases and map things in below topics.)
    3. In order for a team to win, they must blow up all 3 bases and or eliminate all players. However, when it is Japan vs America, both teams must destroy at least 2 of the four carriers, or when half of the airfield is blown up. ( for the pacific campaign this will need to be sorted.)
    4. The game will start when all players have spawned in the on the runways.
    5. Only 1/3 or 1/2 the team cannot be all fighters, unless a specific perk is given. This is to be decided.
    6. Weather can be different, but must not be stormy. Night maps are allowed, but extreme weather where players are hiding in clouds is not allowed. (this will be discussed as this is a common problem especially without icons. However, because of radar, night maps are allowed, which will make for some interesting battles.

More rules and regulations to come as this develops.

    *Maps, Planes, ETC for content:
    1. Home Maps: America: Pearl Harbor/ Britain, Great Britain: Britain, Germany: Berlin, Russia: Moscow, Japan: Iwo Jima.
    2. Planes exist for those only used during World War 2 and actually faced combat. In the Pacific campaign, if one of the nations has an airfield, they can use the non-naval warplanes. This still in work and it is understood that some bombers start in the air as they cannot take off of runways. This will be discussed. The list is as follows:
America: Planes up to the B-24, P-51, and the Fau 1c. Anything after that is outside the boundaries.
Japan: Anything up to the n1k/ Ki 84, and the G8n1. Anything after that is not accepted.
Great Britain: Anything up to the Tempest Mkv, Lancaster Mk3, Mosquito, and the Spitfire Lf Mk9. Anything else after that is not accepted. (No griffons)
Germany: Anything up to the Bf 109 K4, Fw190 D12, Me 410 B6/R3, and the Do 217 K4. Anything else after that is not accepted. The TA 152 is a prototype aircraft and can be used as a perk. See perks for more info.
Russia: Anything up to the Yak 9u, The La 7, Yer 2, and the il-2M. Anything else after that is not accepted. I-185 is considered a prototype as it did not fly in the battlefield.

Keep in mind these planes are to change as time goes on, but really seeing these High tier aircraft is unlikely due to point costs.

    *Perks:
Perks allow the team to use different strategies allowing giving them a slight chance of winning. There will always be new perks added with new players coming up with ideas. Some will be crossed and almost similar to that of the Ground Forces Campaign.
    1. Engineering : Can bring 1 vehicle/or plane that is either a premium or a prototype to the field (full cost +1 extra for prototype).
    2. Cheap and Efficient: Fighters used the most during the war cost 1 less extra point. (-1 for aircraft that would used the most during the war)
    3. Extra Wing man: This perk allows one extra fighter on the team.
    4. Berlin Express: The cost of a bomber cost 1 less extra point. (-1 point for bombers)
    5. Night Raid: One team is give allowed to set the map to night twice during the campaign. This should be used wisely as this can give the other team the advantage. (Set the time of day twice.)
    6. Intelligence: The enemy team must reveal two different aircraft that they are using before each battle.
    7. Oil loss: Only allowed one use, this can for one of the battles make the enemy planes cost 1 extra point ( 1 use, enemy team's planes cost +1 point.)
    8. Caught by surprise: Only allowed one use, the enemy team gets the advantage of starting earlier than the enemy team. This forces the enemy team to scramble planes as fast as they can. (1 use, and early start for one team).

More perks are to be developed and or more ideas can be presented as time goes on.

    *Finishing:
As it can be seen the Britain, America, Russia vs Germany is quite simple. However the Pacific Campaign of Japans vs America is quite difficult. with spawning and Especially with carriers. That campaign might have to be set on the Eastern Front.

Anyways, I hope this we can get this campaign mode started as it would make for some interesting battles, and make those excited for night combat in the air. If your a pilot as I am, I would be thrilled to play this and watch it develop. So please guys discuss about this mode and hope to see it implemented in training.

Blitzkrieg: Team waits only 5or10 seconds to start battle instead of 15

Rolling Barrage: med tanks can now use artilery strikes aswel instead of just light tanks

German/Russian Engineering : Can bring 1 vehicle/or plane from up to BR7 to the field (full cost +1 extra for prototype)

Intelligence :opponent has to reveal 1/3 of his chosen tanks/planes in lineup for start before battle

Scout :1free scout vehicle per battle and middle map is decided by you presenting 3 maps to oppponent to chose from

Weather forecast :You choose weather settings for the map(3use only)

Air Dominance: You are allowed to use 1 more plane then normally allowed(30% of players rounded down) +1

Tactical Retreat : Your team has no countdown meter and last vehicle/plane destroyed in your team salvage 50%points back(rounded
    down)
For the Motherland/Fur das Deutsche Reich : when fighting in capital 1time gain 3x points allowance (pool points)

Entrenched/Dug in : when lost previous battle/retreated, next battle you can spend 1 extra player worth of points in combat

Russian/German Propaganda : 50% of 1 player worth of points extra to use in battle(2use/campaign)

more to come in due time or when inspiration comes up again

Well, Its been a thing now and slowly growing. KV-2 derp squads are being mobilized purging those German tier 3 scum. Recently today http://imgur.com/a/9rhBo. Many decided that we should make this event. Whats people thoughts about adding this to Friday? Racing as we know takes place then, but what about something to switch to during the week.

May the Germany suffer 1-shots of the Monstrous KV-2.

Hello, new around the forum. I got this 2 ones to share.   The moment before the last 2 enemy planes collide trying to get the kill and gave us the win.
And that sweet moment when you have a T-34 with his pants down.
      Teamwork at his best.

I saw it last night and it was amazing. One of the best WWII movies I've seen.
The character were good and very well acted(Even Shia LaBeouf was decent), the story while simplistic worked amazingly well, and the action was absolutely phenomenal.
Fury is definitely now in my top 5 WWII movies.

You bring up a very good point Deadeye there comes to a point where some of our players that are not as good at planes stop improving. Your idea of a battle debriefing is a great idea, and should be implemented. We are competitive after all and during our competitive training's, constructive criticism should be given. With the current spectator system it is very hard for spectators to know what is going on so maybe we could have players record some of their matches for debriefing later on in the forums. I hope these changes can be implemented and all our players can improve because of it. Thank you for posting this
  8. Trooper liked a post in a topic by Gobu in My leave and reasons why.
Back like in July and August I was the same. In practice all both sides would climb to space and then engage each other. Slowly we have moved away from that, which is awesome. I am loving these practice as it gives me a chance to work on my teamwork skills which, according to many people I have flown with is sh*t.
The new replay system should fix this a bit to review about what happened. I would love to seriously get into reviewing my practice matches going through what I did wrong myself, but I am both lazy and waiting for a better replay system.
I personally would be willing to fly with you, as it helps both my teamwork and giving advice for anyone. I am not a great tanker, but after playing with some WOT vets in this squadron it helped me to get a lot better at tanks. Playing out of training really helps and it allows you to get ready to test what you have learned into the training.

Right now in the past two practices, I have loved the 1v1 and 2v2 battles. I usually fly with 1 other mates so I am used to the 2v2 battle, but I have not fully developed the teamwork with my teamate so in these battles I have no idea what to do since I am sort of a solo player. I basically was forced to develop my own tactics I am a lonewolf. This is what I am trying to work on really hard. (also stealing peoples kills which is what I am working not doing, so sorry to those I maybe have done it to.) The 4v4 battles is what I kind of agree on this post. While the officers are trying and working really hard on these practices and doing a good job, the 4v4 battles have not been presenting much feedback like you said. I would love to know how to work with teamates and how to win. This can be fixed by the new replay system coming up allowing us to easily go through the battle and understanding with each team what went wrong, or what went right. I agree in that after the battle the officer spectatiing the one team should take the members and give good constructive criticism. After talking with the officers this will be implemented in both Sunday and Saturday training. These two saturday practices have been tests to see what happens in the matches.

The officers have drastically changed how practices are from two teams climbing to space, to two teams working together and communicating with each other to win each match. More is to come Dead Eye, and quitting when these officers are just beginning to implement some interesting things, Sunday training and clan battles, New Saturday training techniques, Friday event, 1.43 patch with racing and other fun stuff, and the upcoming AJSA WT Tournament ( super excided for this).

I wouldn't mind flying with players to both benefit my teamwork and helping other fighter pilots fly their planes. (cause tier v jets is fucking broken so I can only fly prop planes. ). Re think about you're decision about leaving the squadron, because the AJSA  squadron is about to implement a whole bunch of great things.
o7 mate (sorry for the big long text).

Guess I'll explain my sudden leave from tonights practice, of wich I apologise for doing without a word.
It was not due to power shortage or disconnect, I simply just thought "nope, no more", and left.
My motivation have hit rock buttom.

When I joined this Squadron, it was with hopes that not alone could I play Ground Forces with competent players on a higher level, but maybe even learn to be a better pilot.
As you probably know by now, I am not a very good pilot, and thus very easy to shoot down.
This is actually very frustrating, even during practice, knowing I could have done better, wich brings me to my next issue.

It is even more frustrating, that no one explains to me, what I did wrong or what I could/should have done. This is something I've noticed the lack of, since I joined.
I am not asking for someone to hold my hand through everything, but atleast explain to me, what I could have done better, or how I should have reacted.

For example, last weekend during the 2vs2 practices, there were no debriefings after each round.
Plenty of people were spectating, but not a whole lot was said, about the actions taken by the pilots, or most importantly, the wrong actions taken by the pilots.
In the end, every time my name was called out to fly, all I could think about, was how much of a liability I would be to my teammate that round.

But yeah, I guess thats about it... I'm sorry if this have offended anyone, it was not my intention with this post, but simply to explain how I currently feel about the game and the practice sessions.
I'll be taking a break from War thunder and the squadron for a while, and hopefully find new motivation to play again.
And if I do, then I hope I'm welcome to join once again.

    Cheers. o7

PS: Since it would be shitty to criticise something without my own feedback, here it is.
To boost individual pilot skill, with 1vs1 battles, it would never require more than 3 people.
2 pilots and 1 spectator, who are in a battle and TS channel by themself.
When 1 pilot is shot down, they talk through everything and advices whereever possible.
They rotate now and then, so everyone get turns in the air.

This allow 3 people, to calmly discuss things, without having a bunch of other people talking in eachothers mouth on teamspeak.
Dont get me wrong, I love you guys, you are a fantastic bunch, but some times you just gotta shut up on teamspeak.
Officers, if they are not participating, can go from channel to channel, offer advice and even jump in to spectate themself, or assign 1-2 very good pilots for this.
