First iteration? It's been 7 years and I've seen you talk endlessly about how this is "constantly evolving" and how wonderful and massive every new update it is, but this is the first iteration. The hypocrisy is unreal. And i never said you asked people to support it, I said you've been trying to sell it, there's a difference.

There is tons of other successful crowdfunded games and projects that don't continue to add more and more egregious stuff on top the initial funding like this are you kidding me!  Divinity: Original Sin 2 was crowdfunded and did Larian Studios continue to attempt pull hundreds or thousands more dollars out of it's backers during it's production after the project and stretch goals were already funded?  Hell fucking no!  They got the money, went into production, completed it, distributed the game and/or whatever backer awards to those who invested in it then put it on sale to generate their own revenue.

Why should their customers continue to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars of their own money for the "privilege" testing their unfinished game for them after they have already funded it?  They have given them the money already!  If CIG spent to much, didn't ask for enough money upfront or made promises they couldn't keep on the initial budget then that's on them!  I would say they have no right to nickle and dime their fans until they have developed some post-release content but we both know that the term "nickle and dime" would be a gross understatement.

No, those people wanted a game, not an endless tirade of excuses to consume as much of thier money as possible. You're sounding more and more like a shady door to door salesman for CIG and that's hilarious given the fact you have convinced literally nobody in the AJSA to buy it, so you efforts aren't even working! Seriously, why don't you just give up?

In addition to this, Crytek has enlisted the services of Skadden to represent them.  This is a ultra top tier law firm.  One of their recent victories; Zenimax v Facebook/Oculus Rift.  CryTek is out for blood.

    Wow! Thrusters! Ho-lee-shit! Thrusters!!

I've been to judgmental, haven't I? All this time, that's what I've been. I was so focused on frivolous shit like stupidly expansive DLC content, a storefront that charges more for gift cards that they redeem for, broken Kickstarter promises, splitting what was one game into two separate purchaces, missed launch dates agian and again, a false alpha test thst's run far to long, a lack of stability in latest build, a "game" that's never really worked proparly at all, a lack of justification for a $150 million+ crowdfund, evidence of misappropriation of said crowdfund money, marketing that prayed and promoted a bad fanboy attitude amongst fans and a fanbase that's beyond deluded. I was wrong on all lf them. I was focused on the wrong things, clearly...

... because, MY GOD HYPE FUCKING THRUSTERS!!!

    3.0 is a massive joke.
From what I gathered, performance is worse than ever.  The physics engine frequently screws up.  NPCs bug out frequently (and are strictly scripted).  Here's a real player parking a Nox inside a Cutlass.
It's a hot mess.  They rushed the build so it'll be out in time for CitizenCon.

The fact that they are even planning Alpha 3.0 before the new patch is even out tells you everything that's wrong. They will never release this game because scamming people by accepting these so called "pledges" through the "alpha" and thus not having to adhire to purchasing rights is making them a fortune. They are out of excuses, they have had enough time and definitely made enough money to finish this game. That's why the alpha will never end because idiots keep pledging to the game, a gravy train that would end if the actually released it. MMO's go through test phases while they are being developed, and they get patches and updates as time goes on, but they do not just claim to be in Alpha for all eternity,  that is not how this works, or at least not how it's supposed to work.

When they first had the kickstarter, pledges were promised Squadron 42 as the single player portion of Star Citizen. That was the case until last February when they announced that only people who pledged a certain amount before February 14nth  (Yeah, Valentine's day, very funny by the way). It's only after that they stated calling the Star Citizen MMO and the Squadron 42 single player two separate games and now people have to buy the room games separately. Robert Space Industries claimed they did this to offer more to early backers, bur early backers were already entitled to Squadron 42 anyway, so they actually gave them nothing extra at all. The obvious truth is they held Squadron 42 hostage to try and get more pledges before February 14nth for a game, and you said so yourself, they will never bring out of alpha. Scum.

To summarize, Star Citizen is a mountain of bullshit. I'm a big fan of Wing Commander, and I actually want this game to come out, but no way I'm supporting what has become one of the most shady, disgustingly greedy projects in gaming history.

I don't know what else to say or do here because I know that Doctor and the rest of the now dwindling fanbase will keep doing what they always do which is be selective in the use of the facts in order to indulge their chasing of what is now an unrealistic dream.  Even after all this I STILL want to see the game come out and deliver at least an approximation of the experience that was promised......  but I'm now 100% certain that is never going to happen.

A few bugs and missing features is acceptable and not a big deal even for a project that has had $156 million of public investment and 5 years of development time (probably closer to 6 if you count the pre-development time before they launched the kickstarter).   However, After looking at all the information that we have readily available I have a judgement and objective opinion and I'm sure it's shared with other members of the community like @Aya Reiko, @Shaggeramong others as well as everyone in the posted "Goons" chat.  I think it's fairly safe to say that in the court of public opinion the amount of progress that has been made and the current level of quality of the product........ is NOT acceptable.

They need to focus of delivering the experience that was promised instead of trying to show off and hype features like the face capture that allows the in game avatar to mimic your live facial expressions, nobody cares about that!  After 5+ years and $156 million of fan investment and we don't even have close to a fully assembled BETA to show for it yet they have the arrogance to have DLC ships and Bundles that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars.  THAT'S what people are complaining about!

    You're a liar.

You don't want to dicuss the game. If you did you wouldn't pick and choose what things people bring up to respond to and ignore the rest. You wouldn't only post promotions and gameplay clips edited to remove anything negative. If you wanted to actully get the community involved then like I said, you would have at least attempted to play the game with the AJSA instead of posting propaganda and nothing else. You've proven yourself to be dishonest and souless. You don't want us to dicuss the game, nor even play the game as a community. You want us to buy the game. End of story.

To tell the truth, I can't say for sure if you're some promoter working at the behest of CIG or an affiliate of them, or if you're a deluded fanboy with his head buried in the sand. Either way, you have no credibility here. So do what you want, just don't expect to taken seriouly here anymore.

Here's the cold hard truth you blatantly ignored.  The whole thing, is late.  It was supposed to be out in 2014, but here we are in 2017 with the third Alpha, an ALPHA with its scope significantly reduced, being delayed for nearly a year, and it is clearly a mess.  Its doesn't matter how many branches it has, it means nothing if it is not working, and the Chris' on-rails presentation demonstrated that the whole thing is a trainwreck.
And yet you continue to lie, distort, and just ignore things you can't dispute.  You post nothing but the latest bullshit propaganda from CIG.  You have no thoughts of your own. If we wiped clean every bit of CIG's propaganda, every bullshit hype vid you have posted, then this one truth becomes clear; You have contributed nothing here.  You have no credibility, and the last vid you posted is all the proof anyone could ever need of that.  You are pathetic.  You offer nothing.  My advise to you...
    And just leave.

Wow.  Seriously wow.  You have a serious case of burying your head in the sand when things do look good for you or this game.
This godforsaken game has been in production since 2012 with an original release date of 2014.  SO DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO PUSH THAT BULLSHIT LIE THAT THE GAME HAS BEEN IN PRODUCTION FOR LESS THAN THAT.
Furthermore, CIG has taken loans to keep the project going.  And yet they've touted they have raised $150+ million to fund production. People don't take loans from Coutts with virtually the whole game as collateral for "reasons", they take them when they're broke and can't fund ongoing operations.  Meaning, CIG HAS BURNED THROUGH MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE CROWDFUNDING TO MAKE A BARELY FUNCTIONAL ALPHA.
edit- Correction. An on-rails CryEngine level that crashed and was a bug-ridden mess.  3.0, like S42, is still MIA.
Oh, and Alpha 3 is nearly a year late, and, like the full game itself, is heavily scaled back from the original plan.  https://imgur.com/a/273z5#dcTTg5k
But please keep spewing the propaganda Spectrum, and by proxy CIG, wants you to puke out.  But since all you do is recite the same pre-packaged bullshit with nary an original thought at all, you might as well do everyone a favor and just leave.

First, the evidence was right there. The game pretty much crashed and had severe bugs in it. The commentery, the twitch chat and e even the prenters of the show could see this was mess that hasn't improved much if at all this past year. Those are not random facts, just facts you don't wanna believe, so you put your blinkers on.

Second, who the hell said Squadron 42 had a $0 budget? Clearly a significant portion of the $150+ million was spent on it and idea's otherwise, be it a criticism or a defence, would be ludicrous.

Thirdly, Ayais right. With $150+ million of thier fans and at least 5 years in development and if that's the best they can do, there's only one to descride it. Pathetic.

And lastly, why are you so quick to debate this me why I'm not even the one poining this out. There's no  point whinging to me about it, so stop being such a coward and bring it up with Aya.

So, in case you haven't heard a CRoberts presentation happened...
And it crashed hard.  Big time.  In a clearly scripted, on rails CryEngine level, not an actual 3.0 build.
     But that's not all!  Introducing...
    FOIP!
Something that was in EverQuest 2, 5 years ago.  (ohmigod the cringe)  And something nobody asked for.  But hey, you can get a SC branded webcam!
Oh, and who is handling the FOIP tech?  Faceware.  Never heard of them?  Maybe you heard of another game they had a hand in making... MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA.
    Wow this IS AWFUL!!!

A lot of what is being promised has been cut from the now very late Alpha 3 release.  If CIG included everything they originally promised for 3.0, I doubt it would ever come out at the rate they are going.
Between broken promises, delays, and obvious developmental problems, at the very least, do not trust a single thing coming out of the collective mouths of CIG or any of their fanboys.

As far as I can tell, it's still in Alpha or pre-Alpha stage.
There have been far too many red flags concerning this game.  For a game with 5+ years of development with supposedly a team of 400 plus people, there is way too little getting accomplished.  It should have been in beta or late-beta by now.  Squadron 42 has been AWOL for a long time.  Furthermore, they've changed engines at least twice, the most recent change was December of last year.
I've decided to side with "Team" Smart here.  He may be a bit of a horse's ass, but he seems to know his shit, and all signs point to this project is likely beyond FUBAR.  Chris Roberts may be a creative mind, but he desperately needed someone to reign him in and keep him focused.
    edit-
    Crunched some numbers.
Take $150 million and split it 400 ways, and then split that by 5.  If the entire sum of crowdfunding was spent on the dev team only, the only was CIG would not be in the red if the average salary was $75,000.  The average salary for a game programmer?  Approximately $100k per year.
Let's face some cruel, cruel facts.  CIG is broke.  There is no way that have anything left in the tank even if they used only entry-level programmers (avg. salary: $60k-$75k).  CIG would have other expenses beyond the dev team's salary. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole project implodes within a year.
