First off, most of the AJSA plays BF4 on the PC and not on the Xbox. And if you're looking to go competetive, then you're way better off playing on the PC because that's where our competetive players are.

Second, this shouldn't be in the PC gaming section if you're looking for Xbox players.

Third, three topics is way too many. If people are interested in information regarding Xbox One then they'll look at topics in there. You don't spam every forum til you get a bite.

I'm merging this topic into the Xbox One forum and deleting the one in General Discussion.
  2. Powelus liked a post in a topic by Aquila in GTA IV or GTA V
I would have to say that story-wise and character-wise, I prefer GTA IV.

Niko is a realistic and gritty character, and despite his borderline psychopathy he still plays straightman to a more insane world. The plot is driven around the hardships of his adjusting to American life using his criminal expertise to help his cousin make a name for himself, while simultaneously searching for closure for a despicable betrayal that has been haunting him for 10 years.

In GTA V, I really find that I don't like any of the main protagonists. Franklin is possibly the most likable character of the three, but I feel he's just "token black man". He's not even that entertaining, Lamar steals Franklin's spotlight more often than not while Franklin is a bit bland and whiny to me. Michael is more relatable than the others I think, because I feel sorry for him when I see how his family views and treats him despite his efforts. That being said, his efforts aren't 100% sincere and more for his own peace of mind than for his family's happiness. He's also a liar and a hypocrite. Trevor may be a psychopath who definitely shouldn't have known the truth about Michael's "death", but at the same time Michael has done a lot of underhanded things like take advantage of Franklin's ambitions and treated his family like crap at times. Trevor is the most charismatic of the three characters because he's just charming. He has a strange amount of depth for someone who's supposed to personify the typical cathartic GTA player, and at times he's even wiser and more earnest than Michael. Though obviously he's so far off the handle that he can't be related to that well, and he is downright scary if you think about it.

GTA IV also had significantly more missions than GTA V. V has about 69 main missions and IV has 94. V makes up for its length by having more awesome side-missions than IV, but I still felt the main story was a bit lacking.

If I added in GTA Online to the mix, GTA V is overall better than GTA IV. But as a singleplayer experience, I think IV is superior.

Actually I read through your posts, and you're the one who derailed this thread. And continuing to do so. I shouldn't have to tell you to stop in your own thread.
  4. Jinzuro liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Do you like 90s cartoon and anime?
It was an American program on Cartoon Network that showed cartoons like Dragon Ball, Gundam Wing, YuYu Hakusho and many others. I pretty much grew up watching it, it was pretty awesome.
  5. Divergence liked a post in a topic by Aquila in The Game Theorists: Fan Section
In my opinion, Game Theory uses a lot of fast-talking tangentical nonsense in order to come up with a conclusion that either has nothing to do with the topic they originally set out to prove, or use sensationalist reasoning to come off as enlightened or insightful.

Example. The Leap of Faith video. They start off strong, trying to prove whether or not a leap of faith is plausible, then they get crazy and come up with the conclusion that Ezio would die long before he reached the top of his jump. How he gets to that conclusion is through a series of seemingly related equations... but the thought occurs to me that he wasn't actually trying to prove how much force the haystack would have to absorb to be "safe", but to come to this conclusion in the first place. Video linked below.

That is not how the scientific process works. You're supposed to test your theory not test your conclusion. Everything about the video was built around the result, instead of building up to it.

Another example, his "Mario is evil" conspiracy theory. While there is some fact to what he cites as examples, a lot of it is taken out of context for the sake of proving his point. The biggest evidence of this is at the end of this video, when he points to Mario scuffing Luigi's boot at the end of Luigi's celebration in Mario Power Tennis. He draws attention to this moment, but then neglects to mention a lot of the other victory celebrations, such as when Daisy practically tackles Luigi to the ground or when Yoshi EATS him.

So yeah, it annoys me when people see this show as factual or scientific. The guy's about as well-researched as a tabloid newspaper, and he comes off as elitist or superior to me. Maybe that's his intention, but I just dislike everything about this show.

    Alright enough guys.

This topic is opinions about a single person and what they did, not about whoever's abs or whatever country is gender unequal or whatever's going on here.

Get back on topic. And by topic I don't mean "throw out baseless conjecture and respond to people who say you're wrong". You're entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't make it 100% indisputable. If you have an argument, you should be able to support your argument with facts. No more slinging generalized insults at sweeping groups of people.

It depends how much you're willing to spend.
My capture card is a Hauppauge and it cost about $140. And that's one of the cheaper ones on the market.

What, you didn't put Nintendo 64? A lot of us grew up with that system. :B

My personal favorite is Link to the Past. It's a game that's ahead of its time if you ask me, it's got the most dungeons out of any Zelda game ever made and you can almost tackle them in any order. It's almost a sandbox game.

Not to mention the cool sidequests and side characters that you meet.
  11. Aquila liked a post in a topic by Kyris in Should games have "addictive" warning on their boxes\loading screens.
The problem I have with this. Is the video games themselves are not chemically addictive. The reason some people GET addicted to playing video games, is because the brain releases endorphin's when we get things like achievements or a level in a video games - That's what makes humans feel good, in general - and some people, a small percentage, I would say. Get addicted to that through video games. It's the same reason some people get gambling addictions, or addicted to nearly anything else.

Drug addictions, be it tobacco, alcohol, or narcotics. Actively manipulate the brain into addiction, where as things like video games are much more passive, although some unscrupulous developers try to influence it as much as possible. So, where do we draw the line? I say, as long as it's not chemically addictive, we shouldn't put warning labels on it because only a small percentage of users get addicted otherwise.

I do, and really can, only speak for myself here. But I buy music for myself, and myself only and as a full grown adult. I just ignore the warning label on music entirely. I'm perfectly accustomed to listening to people say "naughty words". But it does remind me of something I heard awhile ago.
The government was playing with the idea of putting warning labels on cigarettes of the damage they can do - diseased lungs, stuff of the sort. But in the tests, it actually showed to INCREASE under-age use because now the packages "looked cool". Not sure how true it is. But basically yea. Kids want things that look 'cool' and edgy. So warning labels, if nothing else, make them want it more.

In comparison, the bronies are less harmful.
  13. Sigma081 liked a post in a topic by Aquila in What is your favorite Anime Intro?
Well my favorite anime is Kinnikuman.

If I had to pick my favorite from those... I think the second intro would be my favorite. Honoo no Kinnikuman.
  14. Commander Shepard liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Was New Vegas The Best Place To Start?
    Ehhhhhhhhhh...
Actually New Vegas is closer to the lore of Fallout than FO3 was.
From a storytelling perspective and as a jumping-on point for new players, I suggest Fallout 3. It's bigger, the story is easy to follow, and there's a lot to see and do.
From a gameplay perspective, New Vegas is better. It has a worse start than Fallout 3, but it gives you a bit more freedom to direct the story the way you want to and it feels more like the original Fallout games.
I haven't played the first games, but I would stick to the new series for now. When the new game comes out, you'll have more of a clear base on what to do and how to play than if you played the first series.
  15. BSB liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Borderlands 1&2 favorite character
Borderlands 1, I originally thought Roland was my favorite because his stoic look and soldier-y persona. But I kinda got bored of his skill trees and his lines made him seem like a stereotypical black guy. (though his stoicness was brought back in the next game at least) But I like Mordecai's personality better, and he's pretty fun to use too.

Borderlands 2 is a bit different for me to say. I like Maya in terms of gameplay. And she's got a pretty cool snarky personality, but I think I like Krieg's character better. Just... Krieg.
  16. Gone too liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Was New Vegas The Best Place To Start?
Fallout 1 and 2 are good, but they're radically different from the new series by Bethesda. New Vegas is a bit closer to the original games than Fallout 3.

And frankly I don't care about glitches. I've had a lot of glitches in good games such as Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, and Assassin's Creed.

I think I know what you're talking about, but I attribute that with Shigeru Miyamoto not really knowing what he's doing than malicious money-grubbing.

But yeah, either way the content ID system isn't doing them any favors... although I guess it is, because it makes the ad revenue go to Nintendo instead of the LPer/reviewer. It's their product on display, but making money off of someone's commentary and gameplay is wrong. I understand it's their game in the first place, but some shows put effort into their episodes and they don't deserve having their money taken from them.

Although if it's a silent LPer then yeah, I can't really defend that.

It's more than essentially a game rental service because I can access all of the games I have previously downloaded off of PS+. And since I've had PS+ for over a year, that's a pretty decent library of games.
It also comes with monthly discounts on a lot of games/DLCs, and 1-hour timed trials for games.

I think that's a little rude that he's asking a serious question and you show a joke image of a Nintendo Power Glove, which is not only irrelevant but it fits over the hand he says he can't use.

I don't think I know enough about PC hardware to suggest something to you, Artose. Maybe you can find some kind of left-handed joystick with a lot of buttons on it, but most games I know need another hand to control the camera while one controls strafing. I've seen those mouses with all the bells and whistles on them, but they seem pretty pricey.
