I think that's a little rude that he's asking a serious question and you show a joke image of a Nintendo Power Glove, which is not only irrelevant but it fits over the hand he says he can't use.

I don't think I know enough about PC hardware to suggest something to you, Artose. Maybe you can find some kind of left-handed joystick with a lot of buttons on it, but most games I know need another hand to control the camera while one controls strafing. I've seen those mouses with all the bells and whistles on them, but they seem pretty pricey.

Damn. Not only is it real, it's apparently good. I would think it's some horrible slop that would appear on an episode of Brad Jone's show Brad Tries.
  4. Kaz32 liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Anyone still remember Pacific Rim? Conclusion of what the majority thinks about the movie in page 4.
I do agree that Cherno Alpha was awesome and they definitely should've had more screentime other than exploding and dying.

But the movie was long enough already, so I'll have to live without my Russian badassery.
  5. lordvetynari liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Will Next Gen Graphics Evolve Far???
It's not really a question of how graphics will evolve as how video game art will evolve.

It doesn't matter how powerful a console is and how many polygons a model has, it's what you do with all of it that matters.

The joke is the irony of that person's response.
The speaker is telling the crowd that they're all individuals, and so they all cheer in agreement. The lone dissident, although stating he is NOT an individual, is contradicting his own statement by making a statement that stands out from the crowd.

I couldn't really find the exact track I was looking for, but I found a commercial for the game I have got to play some time before I die.

    Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix 2.

I love Kinnikuman, it's so over-the-top and awesome. I really wish I understood a word of what this commercial was saying.

It's an advertisement for a PS2 game called Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix 2, only ever sold in Japan. I bet only a handful of you even know what Kinnikuman is. (If you're going to say Ultimate Muscle, put your hand down. That's the sequel to Kinnikuman.)

Characters from both Kinnikuman and Ultimate Muscle are in this game, with a huge variety of moves and characters ranging from major villains to obscure midcard wrestlers. I think the only game that came close to this much wrestling awesomeness was WWE All Stars, and that fell kinda short of my expectations.

I just can't get over how much I love this franchise.
  9. Kaz32 liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Republique: new big named iPhone and later PC game that's released recently. Holy shit this is awesome.
Jennifer Hale, David Hayter, Khary Payton, it's like a smaller version of Metal Gear Solid 4.

I love stealth games... usually. And I love David Hayter as well. This game seems like a pretty awesome thing. There's just one thing that bugs me.

Why am I only finding out about it NOW. I totally would've backed it on Kickstarter.
  10. Legolas_Katarn liked a post in a topic by Aquila in hey i was wondering can i get the word of my youtube channel?
Okay I'm gonna go ahead and lock this down because someone kind of jumped on the crazy train.

Berserker's right though. If you've got a youtube channel you wanna share, there's a forum thread for that.

Alright alright guys can we please cool it with the child abuse now?

To be fair, Kaz, you didn't really mention 8-year olds til Gomly mentioned beating people up for disagreeing with him.

And Gomly, lighten up. Kaz didn't mean anything sinister by his comments.

Please end this argument and get back to talking about giant robots fighting Gojira.
  12. Gone liked a post in a topic by Aquila in What is your favorite weapon manufacturer in the Borderlands series?
That's Tediore I think. The guns are so inexpensive that it's cheaper just to digistruct a new one rather than reload an old one.
Fast reload times and they do more explosion damage the more remaining ammo you have, but you lose that ammo too.
I actually liked Tediore. I had this awesome corrosive shotgun that gave this acidic explosion every time I reloaded.
  13. Gears Kondraki liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Is the Kinect 2 a fail already?
I think the Kinect works fine... as a dance peripheral. As a replacement for the controller... not so great.

It's never going to replace the ease of pressing a button, and it's still not precise enough to detect leaning. Hopefully Joe's Fighter Within stream has taught everyone that unless your Kinect game has the word "Dance" in it, it's probably gonna suck.
  14. John Lynn liked a post in a topic by Aquila in How important is story to you?
Realistically you'd be looking at no more than 45%.

You have to bear in mind that things like gameplay, game feel, graphics and the like need to take up percentages too. More than 50% for storyline is disproportionate, especially in things like Minecraft and iOS games that hardly have any story at all.

Sometimes story isn't even important at all. In my opinion games only have to be fun or interesting to be "good". If they're both, you're talking about an excellent game. Games like Portal and Bioshock for instance.
  15. Kitasu_Arano liked a post in a topic by Aquila in PlayStation 3 AJSA Fighting game community
What, no WWE games? It's technically a fighting game. Heh.

I tried a lot of fighting games in the past. I either don't have the skills necessary to memorize/perform combos, or I don't have the twitch button-mashing skills for it not to matter.

Although if anyone wants to play Super Smash Bros 4 when it comes out, I'll trade friend codes with you. :B

I do enjoy a good magic act. One of my favorites is from Penn and Teller: Fool Us.

Not only an impressive magic trick, but a funny showman as well.

I think Andre is a version of Andrew in general. Andre the Giant, legendary professional wrestler, was French after all.

It's good to see your tabletop topic is generating a lotta buzz. Do you stream your sessions? I might sit in on a stream and try to pick up on some tabletop tricks and tips if you do.

I guess they found out that people were farming Survival Mode for money and XP, and they were mostly camping on roofs. (Myself included)

I'm pretty heavily against this, since armor is basically useless like 7 rounds into Survival when CPUs are armed with machine guns that chew through armor instantly. There's not enough health/armor pickups to make this mode challenging, the best you can do is hunker down somewhere and hope you don't take a lucky bullet to the noggin.

But I think the stupidest thing is even if you climb on any surface above the ground, like say a wrecked car in a junkyard, the game says YOU HAVE TO GET BACK TO THE SURVIVAL AREA.

It's mainly just Rockstar justifying their microtransactions. I think it sucks.

I think taking Big Guns away was a good move. Miniguns fit under Guns, Gattling Lasers fit under Energy, and Rocket Launchers fit under Explosives. The only difference is that you need a certain level of strength to use them properly.
  21. SarcasticZebra liked a post in a topic by Aquila in Fallout 4 possibility?
I dunno if anyone's been keeping up with this, but there's some new evidence that may support that this website is legit.

The morse code has changed. Instead of a date, it says CQ/CQ/CQ/DE/OZ/PSE/AS.

In morse code radio speak, this translates to: "Calling any station. Calling any station. Calling any station. This is Oscar Zulu. Please stand by."

For those of you who've played Fallout 3, allow me to explain. Oscar Zulu is a radio frequency being broadcast from a makeshift bunker in the Capital Wasteland by a man named Bob Anderstein. In his transmission he asks for help because he has a young boy with him, but if you explore the bunker you find that there are two skeletons and neither of them belong to a child.

There's also a cypher on the top of the screen that reads:

ZL QRNE FVFGRE. V'Z URNQVAT GB GUR VAFGVGHGR. TBQ XABJF JUNG UNCCRARQ GB GUVF CYNPR ABJ. GUVF BYQ ONFGNEQ JVYY URYC HF. UR ZHFG URYC HF. --0321--

Someone on Reddit translated this to "MY DEAR SISTER. I'M HEADING TO THE INSTITUTE. GOD KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE NOW. THIS OLD BASTARD WILL HELP US. HE MUST HELP US. --0321--"

And finally, some people who visit the site get this message instead:

If you call the number, all you get is the music from Tranquility Lane.

I think Bethesda wants to keep it vague, but this teaser is becoming too expensive to be just a mere hoax.

I heard Japan recently received a huge spike of sales, because of the release of Wii Party U. Why? I dunno, but sales are sales. I reckon Black Friday might increase sales in North America too.
And let's be fair, Wii was the best-selling console of the previous generation hands-down. Nintendo is a solid company, if nothing else. Sony and Microsoft have been exchanging blows and flubs, but Nintendo for the most part breaks even and then some. With some very specific exceptions.
Joe himself said this gaming community was meant for everyone, from the hardcore to the casual gamer. That's why it strikes me as a little peculiar that there's no Wii U/3DS section.

My favorite 2D Mario game is definitely Super Mario World. Awesome game for its time, and the first game I remember playing... ever.

Favorite 3D Mario game has gotta be Super Mario Sunshine. Beautiful game, and highly underappreciated. I had more fun playing Sunshine than I did Super Mario 64 or even Galaxy.

And my favorite Mario RPG is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This game had awesome characters, an interesting story, unique locations, and was challenging as hell. It's almost as challenging as ACTUAL RPGs. Though if it was, I probably wouldn't be able to beat it...
