You'd think with the competitive Pokemon and Smash Bros scene, there would be a section for Nintendo games.

Also, wouldn't Wii U be current Gen along with PS4 and Xbone? I know it's still a little behind, but the 3DS and Wii U are both quite good. And to be fair, Nintendo released its new console before Sony or Microsoft.

I feel that way about the game in general, not just online. Armor and health deplete so fast, I usually make it through every mission with half-health.

Gone are the days of GTA IV and previous GTA games where armor felt like it did something and you could take a good amount of punishment without dying.

    You mean aside from

    Paper Mario
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
    Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
    Super Paper Mario
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
    Paper Mario: Sticker Star
and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team?

Yeah, they should make a new Mario RPG.

The Wii U is officially listed as an eighth generation console, as is the 3DS. The only people who think otherwise are the people who compare the Wii U to the PS4 and the Xbone.

The Wii U is a different experience than the other two consoles, it's meant to be a family gaming/party console. It's like comparing a Chevy Corvette to an M1 Abrams tank. Yes the tank is clearly more powerful and tactical, but the Corvette isn't meant for an army to go to war in. It's meant to be fun.

Just because Nintendo isn't the ideal system for the AJS Army to go to war in, doesn't mean it isn't fun. And it's still competitive if you take Pokemon and Smash Bros into the equation. I think we're missing out by not having a Wii U thread.

I would have to say that story-wise and character-wise, I prefer GTA IV.

Niko is a realistic and gritty character, and despite his borderline psychopathy he still plays straightman to a more insane world. The plot is driven around the hardships of his adjusting to American life using his criminal expertise to help his cousin make a name for himself, while simultaneously searching for closure for a despicable betrayal that has been haunting him for 10 years.

In GTA V, I really find that I don't like any of the main protagonists. Franklin is possibly the most likable character of the three, but I feel he's just "token black man". He's not even that entertaining, Lamar steals Franklin's spotlight more often than not while Franklin is a bit bland and whiny to me. Michael is more relatable than the others I think, because I feel sorry for him when I see how his family views and treats him despite his efforts. That being said, his efforts aren't 100% sincere and more for his own peace of mind than for his family's happiness. He's also a liar and a hypocrite. Trevor may be a psychopath who definitely shouldn't have known the truth about Michael's "death", but at the same time Michael has done a lot of underhanded things like take advantage of Franklin's ambitions and treated his family like crap at times. Trevor is the most charismatic of the three characters because he's just charming. He has a strange amount of depth for someone who's supposed to personify the typical cathartic GTA player, and at times he's even wiser and more earnest than Michael. Though obviously he's so far off the handle that he can't be related to that well, and he is downright scary if you think about it.

GTA IV also had significantly more missions than GTA V. V has about 69 main missions and IV has 94. V makes up for its length by having more awesome side-missions than IV, but I still felt the main story was a bit lacking.

If I added in GTA Online to the mix, GTA V is overall better than GTA IV. But as a singleplayer experience, I think IV is superior.

Here's what I found (and posted in the other forum discussing this.) I managed to look through the source code of the page:

I'm looking through the code right now for the page. It appears the MP3 is called radio/bridgeport followed by a bunch of numbers and dashes. Bridgeport is located in Connecticut. A second mp3 (I don't know if this anything,) is called radio/fall-river. Fall River is a city in Massachusetts, and it is the location of Battleship Cove (a park in which the USS Mass is located.)  There is also a link to the Bethesda Softworks youtube page. The best part it, it links to the official Bethesda Softworks Youtube channel. If this is a hoax, someone spent some serious time.

A further look into the source page shows this:
        <!--- <img src="http://prepareforthe...er_pinch.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe...ster_apo.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe...lesh_cov.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe...er_river.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe...er_bst01.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe...er_bst02.png">   <img src="http://prepareforthe..._atheneum.png">
Seems I was partially right, Battlefield Cove is indeed in Falls River!

What reminisce? I'm gonna stick with the PS3 for at least another year.

The PS4 looks good and all, but nothing's out for it yet. And I think all the major releases for the next few months are also getting last-gen releases too.

I'm basically biding my time til MGS5 has a release date and then I'm compelled to get a PS4. But even THAT has a PS3 release.

Oh that's how it's gonna be, huh? You're gonna stick with Batman comic/cartoon villains, huh? Fine, it's not like this topic was purely about video games, so fair enough.

My favorite villain in the past 7 years is CM Punk as a heel.

Has there ever been a game that came out that just made you lose all hope in a franchise? Maybe you were looking forward to it and bought too much into the hype, or maybe it was something that utterly pissed on the legacy of its predecessors. Maybe the game was just so bad and so boring that it just sucked all the fun right out of you and put you into a depression. Let's talk about it, shall we?

I think Assassin's Creed 3 was the biggest betrayal for me in recent history. It was a buggy, rushed out the door piece of trash that had very few memorable characters and even fewer actual memory sequences. It was basically just "how can we shoehorn Connor into various American Revolution events". There were periods of time that were just glossed over because they didn't have enough characters to fill out a game like Assassin's Creed 2, and it was at a point in history that was defined more by politics than people actually killing each other. I've played the series pretty much from beginning to end, and I've never been more frustrated or disappointed with a game since... well probably since Saints Row the Third. Speaking of which...

I think Saints Row the Third was more of a betrayal for me as it took a lot of aspects I loved about the first two Saints Row games and made it a game indistinguishable from the originals and yet not as fun or developed as its sequel. It just has this weird disconnect to the franchise from either end of its history and is just... bad.

If I had to pick one more memorable betrayal from my memory....

My mind goes to the Sonic franchise. It's hard to exactly ascertain when the series started to decline in my eyes. Originally I became fed up and abandoned the franchise after the first Sonic Riders, but I remember I hated the way Sonic Heroes was designed. It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to do another Sonic Adventure game or.... something. It just was a garbled mess of Sonic characters and revisiting the same 5 levels. I think that was when the series was really rapidly heading down the tubes, and if I had played it I would say that Sonic 06 was pretty much the ultimate betrayal of the series. But Sonic Heroes started the trend and I played that one, so that's what I consider the biggest betrayal in my eyes.

But hopefully if my rant didn't chase most of you away, you could share your frustrations and betrayals with everyone.

I gotta agree with you there, the unlock system for deathmatch matches is a bit silly. I once won a 4 v 4 one-death TDM armed with just a pistol. That was nerve-wracking.

I suppose if you want a leg-up you could do survival matches first. Weapons you pick up in Survival carry over to Freeroam, so if you pick up an advanced SMG or rifle and you have the bullets for it, you could just use that in Deathmatch.

But I'm more of a co-op player anyway.

That's more of the state of the Youtube community. There is always someone who will use horrible grammar and try to beat down something you love with a long-winded rant. Though essentially he's saying nothing.

I laughed when he spelt out innovation. Don't get me wrong, I will probably buy a PS4 in the future, but what the PS4 basically amounts to is a good gaming computer. When meanwhile, actual gaming computers are still strides ahead of us console gamers.

I think subdivisions of the Army could be used instead of making the crew public. Each subdivision would be run by an Angry Army officer of sufficient rank. That way we could expand our influence until the max number of players can be increased in private crews.

Sony sells mostly hardware, Microsoft sells mostly software. Microsoft does also sell a bit of hardware, but Sony really doesn't sell software on its own. I don't think the two companies are similar enough for you to say "who will beat the other". That's like asking who would be the better restaurant, Outback Steakhouse or Buffalo Wild Wings. The better question you could've asked was like "Which will beat the other, Microsoft or Apple".
Also, my response was how brand loyalty was a silly thing, which is related to the topic you were asking about. And you should've left the poll about consoles out of the topic if you didn't want people to talk about only the consoles.
Gamers are more interested in talking about video gaming than about speculation over the economy of two different companies.
