Howdy to all out there in AJSA-land!
It’s Brandykins. AJSA Commander, Stream Team Captain...well, I’m sure you already knew that. Welcome to a (late) update on what is going on with the Stream Team for the month of February!

First up, two Stream Team members, Faizyr and Squeeks, will be teaming up to play some Rainbow Six Siege! When the exact date is announced, we will let you know as soon as we can! Just know that it will be in February!

Also, you lovely people, there will be an AJSA Podcast in the month of February! The tentative date we are shooting for is February 10th. It will be hosted on the AJSAGaming Channel on Twitch, and you’ll get to listen to members of the Stream Team talk about stuff and things. And more stuff and more things. Exact time will be announced in the near and distant future!

Random events and co-streams will be on the docket as well, and they will be announced as soon as the details on them are decided!

NOW, THE OFFICIAL PLUG FOR JOINING THE STREAM TEAM.
YES, YOU WILL SEE THIS IN EVERY MONTHLY ARTICLE.

Want to join the AJSA Stream Team? It’s really super easy.

Stream under the AJSA Community Tag on Twitch. You will find the community here:  https://www.twitch.tv/communities/angryjoeshowarmy Are you done? Well, not yet! We do have people, including myself, that check the tag regularly, but you’ll want to make yourself known to members of the Stream Team. As our lovely Jayson said in his post on the subject:  “Find someone that may have some common ground and see if they’d like to stream some games along with you. Make yourself known to the team as someone who we’d happily accept into the group.” Have we scared you off yet? No? Great! To make the final push, we will need you to find a Stream Team member you’d be comfortable with endorsing you as a candidate for the team.
We vote quarterly to add new members to the Stream Team:  in December, March, June, and September! Thanks for reading my words and stuff. I’ll see you next month!

    Howdy hi, fellow AJSA members!
This is Brandykins, newly minted Commander of the AJSA and Stream Team Captain. November is going to be a very special month for the Stream Team and the AJSA Community. Not only is the 4 Year Anniversary of the AJSA coming up, but also, the Stream Team wants to give you, the community, the chance to play games with us!

Say hello to the AJSA Month of Giving.
    What does this entail?
Streamers from the AJSA Stream Team have selected multiplayer games that they would like to play with the AJSA Community.
Check the schedule to see what streamer is streaming what games, and when.
The streams will be featured on the AJSA Gaming Channel.
Come on by and play some games and have fun with us!

This is our way of giving back to the AJSA Community and thanking you for your support of the Stream Team. Without YOU, there would be no US.

Here is the schedule, and who will be doing what. Reminders will be posted the day of the event and every event will be hosted on the AJSA Gaming Channel on Twitch! It's located here: http://www.twitch.tv/ajsagaming

    Grimno:  Warframe, November 11th, 6PM - 12AM Eastern Time
Grimno is a variety streamer who plays “anything his computer can handle”. Warframe, a free-to-play third-person shooter published by Digital Extremes, has human clones. And robots. And it’s in space. Who could ask for more?
Warframe fans, old and new, keep note of this day on your calendar!

    Faizyr:  November 13th, 15th, and 17th, 7PM - 12AM GMT +2

Going for a three-day triple threat, Faizyr, a long-time member of the AJSA Stream Team and a competitive FPS player, has plans to play Rocket League, XCOM 2, and possibly throw in some Rainbow Six Siege!

If you have any of these games, definitely stop on by on these days!

    The_Tons0Fun:  Fortnite: Battle Royale, November 14th, 6PM - 9PM Pacific Time
Tons0Fun, the man with the beard and Council Member of the AJSA, will be hosting up a free-to-play game called Fortnite:  Battle Royale! All you have to do to join is download the game from Epic Games’ website located here:  https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/buy-now/battle-royale
See who can be the last person standing!

    Torozor:  EA’s Battlefront II, November 17th, 1PM - 8PM GMT

Torozor, who in his own words, described his style of streaming as “the most mediocre video gamer”, is a variety streamer who plays pretty much anything:  FPS, RPG, Horror, you name it. On November 17th, come on by Torozor’s stream for some Battlefront II on release day!

Brandykins:  Jackbox Games, November 20th, 8PM - 12AM Central Time
Okay, so I hate talking about myself but in this case it’s necessary. As previously mentioned, I am the Stream Team Captain and newly minted Commander. I consider myself a variety streamer, with a main focus on RPGs and story-driven games. But I also lovvvve playing games with people. On this day, I will be playing The Jackbox Party Pack 4 (and any other Party Packs we might want to play)! Note:  you do not need to own the game...all you need is a phone, computer, or tablet!

I also want to make mention of the AJSA Stream Team Event for the month of November. In addition to participating in anniversary events, members of the Stream Team will be playing Friday the 13th:  The Game! How many kills will we rack up as Jason? How many of us will survive and make it out alive? Tune in on November 12th, from 1PM - 5PM Central Time to find out!

Hello, everyone! We are back on the bimonthly Stream Team article schedule! You will see a new article every second and fourth Monday of every month.
This month is a new feature for the Stream Team articles. Once a month, a member of the AJSA Stream Team will be featured in what is called the Streamer Showcase!
The featured AJSA Stream Team member for the month of July is Torozor. You can find his Twitch channel at http://www.twitch.tv/torozor and his Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/torozor and in his own words:  "Don't forget to leave a like and why not follow my Twitch channel and Twitter at the same time."
How long have you been streaming?:  I've been streaming for two years.  How did you find the AJSA community?:  I can't really remember, but I think it was one of AJ's videos about the relaunch of the AJSA. After checking out the forums, I decided to take part in the weekly events of Planetside 2.  How did you become a member of the AJSA Stream Team?:  I first started streaming with a bunch of other lads but that failed after a couple of weeks. Then, while watching Tons0Fun's stream, I noticed an AJSA Gaming group, so I did some research on the forums and found a section to send in an application to join the team.  What's your style of streaming? What types of games do you typically like to play/stream?:  I am the most Mediocre Video Gamer. The games I tend to play--anything from FPS, RPGs, Strategy, Horror (when I have the balls!), to Action/Adventure.  What is your favorite game--that one game you always end up going back to--and why?:  Well, a guilty pleasure of mine would have to be Football Manager 2016. Sometimes, I love playing it, and then suddenly it turns upside down and I hate everything about it! Last, but not least, what clips/highlights best sums you up as a streamer?:  Don't trust me with a 'nade, or a car.
  5. Tons0fun liked a article by WITHASTICK, Community Spotlight 9/12/16 - Enter Commander!...
*While this is a day later it still needs to be said. Please give a moment of silence for those who were lost long ago during the attacks of 9/11. My heart and wishes go out to the families still affected by it all these years later.*

Last week we said goodbye to Commander Wildfox who’s taking a new path to a new journey, this week we welcome a New Commander tackling a new challenge. Enter Commander… Jaysons Rage! (aka Jayson, aka if you seen his face in the banner than you knew). Yes today we welcome Jayson to the ranks of Commander, having proven himself over the years to be dedicated, determined, and charming to the whole AJSA Community. And this isn’t the first time we’ve featured Jayson on Spotlight, back in April you may recall his Call to Action for the AJSA Community YouTube Channel. And if you’ve been around the older PlayStation 4 Game Nights events, and mostly all of the Expeditionary Force events, or even some play sessions with the Xbox One guys than you already got a good idea on who Jayson is. But to the many who may not know him, I’ll provide a brief history only to be followed up by an one-to-one interview with Jayson himself below.

Jayson came on to the scene back in the early months of 2015, he caught the eyes of myself and my PlayStation Cabinet at the time as someone to get YouTube videos on that darn AJSA Gaming channel. We noticed that other Commanders were starting to take much more interest in him and we quickly went in to grab him up. Early on he provided the Game Nights video on to the channel and became the cameraman for the events. As his performance and reputation grew it was only a matter of time before he was asked by other Commanders and/or members of the Community to share that same charm with them. Soon Jayson moved up in the ranks and joined with the Expeditionary Force (I only hope he took what he learn from Game Nights and applied it over there).

The better end of this tale sees Jayson starting his own YouTube channel with his own review style. Keeping himself fancy with a button up shirt, tie, and vest. As well as his drive into the Twitch Community and stirring the pot up there. He’s worked alongside mostly every Commander and nearly burnt himself out by it. But he came back only willing to try to do more. Going forward we hope to see that same drive going forward and we welcome him as Commander who will oversee the AJSA Gaming YouTube Channel and now really focus on that single aspect of the community. Now, less of me rambling let’s have Jayson time in with his own replies to some question many of us may have.

    Jayson’s Rage YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCluaKtXF0CGfkMlaeuAC9TQ
    Jayson’s Rage Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/jaysons_rage
    AJSA Gaming YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/AJSAGaming

WITHASTICK: Hello Jayson welcome back to Spotlights, not the first time we’ve seen you interviewed on here. But let’s get on with the first question, can you explain to those who may not know or understand what your position as a Commander oversees? (Example: WITHASTICK oversees PlayStation 4, RuneX oversees Xbox One, Conan oversees Expeditionary Force)

JAYSON: Well, my main focus, if you give it a fancy title, is "AJSA Community Content Manager". Essentially, I run the AJSA Gaming YouTube and plan on helping to represent the AJSA at events such as Conventions like TwitchCon and PAX South when I can.

WITHASTICK: What changes or new ideas will we see be coming to the AJSA Gaming YouTube Channel?

JAYSON: Well, we just debuted a new show, This Week In Gaming, on the channel on Sunday. The plan is to keep that going weekly, shooting for a 6:30 PM EST release each week, for as long as I can keep it up. Past that we have event videos when I'm provided with footage from said events that I spice up with a little bit of graphical magic and some music. As we bring more creators into the YouTube staff, new shows will debut not just on YouTube, but things such as an AJSA Podcast on Twitch too. A lot of the road ahead is not mapped out though.

WITHASTICK: What will be your first task you want to get done with the AJSA Gaming YouTube?

JAYSON: I guess you could say my first task would be keeping myself to the weekly schedule for This Week In Gaming, as that will help provide some much needed schedule for the channel on which we can build on. Aside from that the first long-term goal is to curate a creative team that can help provide for the channel

WITHASTICK: Will the Community ever see a continuation of the fabled “Commander Podcast” That happened so long ago? I know you were not apart of it.

JAYSON: I'm not sure if it will return in the same regard as that, but there is an AJSA Podcast in the works, yes. We are playing around with thoughts and ideas that will make it as great as it can be but we're not rushing it. The first focus for just about everyone involved is getting to, and back from, Twitchcon

WITHASTICK: Back towards the end of 2015 you seem to have a “burnout” from handling too much at once. What steps have you taken to help insure with yourself that won’t happen again?

JAYSON: Well, being open with my communication and the support I receive from the community helps a lot. And rather than taking on an extreme amount of endeavor that I attempt to spearhead myself, I'm spacing out my workload. That allows me to call on the support of those near me as well as working on my own brand alongside, not against, the AJSA. I know it seems like I've taken in a lot, especially considering I still reside within the Expeditionary Force Leadership as well, but I've got a lot of room to breathe.

WITHASTICK: Marry, Fuck, Kill; PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

JAYSON: Ooooh. Difficult. After Sony's recent... fumbles, I gotta go: Marry PC, Fuck Xbox (lovingly), and Kill PlayStation 4 (I'm sorry, Old Yeller).

WITHASTICK: You run your own Twitch channel alongside the rest of the AJSA Stream Team. What kinda games would we see you play during your streams or may see in the coming future?

JAYSON: Well, I play a LOT of Rocket League and CSGO as my default games, as well as just about any First Person Shooter I can get my hands on. But I'm always trying to play new titles as it helps me to get footage for reviews that I do on my YouTube channel. Sometimes it makes for an entertaining experience, like when I begrudgingly trudged through Until Dawn or Homefront: The Revolution. Spoiler Alert: I hated those games.

WITHASTICK: Similar question, you run your own YouTube channel with your own fancy style. Might we see a similar style on the AJSA Gaming channel?

JAYSON: I want to make sure I keep a fine line between the two channels, as with my channel, I represent nobody but myself. On AJSA Gaming, however, I represent the community. I'm not afraid of putting my opinion up, like I do a bit with This Week In Gaming, but I don't want to alienate those who don't agree with me or my opinion. This is where having a staff of creators will help. I see a future for the channel where we have several shows going on, maybe an opinion piece series or two, that isn't just myself. So shows like my rant series "Jayson's Rages" as well as reviews will stay on my channel, but I'm not against reviews or rant series as a whole being on the channel.

WITHASTICK: Explain your love for Call of Duty to the rest of the Community, while impersonating Macho Man Randy Savage.

JAYSON: OOOOH YEEEEAH. Everyone has that one game or series that they love, even though everyone tells you to hate it. I SAY NO. I WILL LOVE MY CALLS OF DUTY.. AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME. NOT WITH YOUR FIELDS OF BATTLE. NOT WITH YOUR SIX RAINBOWS. I LOVE WHAT I LOVE AND I DARE YOU TO STOP ME.

WITHASTICK: If your Mom was reading this article (She 100% isn’t) and you had to explain to to your Mom (Which again isn’t reading this) how much you worked hard for this Community (Which she probably never heard of) what would you say?

JAYSON: Even though I've had fumbles in the past (like said burnout), once I realized what kind of potential I saw in not only myself, but in what I could do in the community, I refused to stop. When the AJSA Gaming Channel sat at a sad 3 Subscribers and 2 videos for over a year, I vowed to make it my baby and nurture it to health and prosperity. And we're well on our way to making that happen.
  6. Tons0fun liked a article by WITHASTICK, (Updated) Community Spotlight - 9/5/16 A Commander Leaves For A New Journey
*To those members in the U.S. and Canada regions, hope you enjoying your Labor Day. Be safe!*

One of the hardest things about being a Commander is watching time go by and seeing those who latch on with it. In my short time as being Commander I’ve see many come, and just as many go. Some with big impacts to myself and this community, others impact big behind scenes only to have no one notice. Today we celebrate a Commander who will be stepping down, who may think he didn’t make much of an impact but that’s so wrong. He’s help more of us in ways he might not even know and in other ways he does know. Early on Wildfox help tackle the giant that was known as Planetside 2 during the time that our Lord Commander made a mistake. And because of guidance, strength, and idiotic determination to not stop help Planetside 2 become a hallmark in our AJSA history. And while we may never see the fabled Minecraft AJSA pc server (All those minigames), we must honor the same idiotic determination to help spawn such a dream.

He may not known this, infact this is the first time I am admitting it but he helped me without knowing. When myself and Doshka were made Commanders we both were a bit shocked. Both didn’t know how to process it at all. But those first few months hearing Wildfox cracking jokes and poking fun at Doctor_Evil and Tons0fun really helped get that weight off my shoulders. Had me lighten up a bit and now with him gonna looks like I got to be the one cracking the jokes and poking fun. I think I might manage though.

Today we’re saying goodbye to Wildfox, a Commander who did so much and needs to be remember for it. However small it may have been or as large it has been. Life continues forward, and we have to make choices. Some choices will force us to step away from other things. But doesn’t mean it was a wrong choice or a right choice. Many of us chose to be apart of this community, and however big or small of a role you think you may play is overshadowed by how much it meant. Wildfox is simply stepping down, and will be around time to time. Below I got the chance to do an one-to-one interview with Wildfox, as well as get a few Commanders to say a few words.

*Updated: I have went through and updated the interview to include screencaps of Wildfox's legendary grammar and spelling for all to see. And for those to see the level I had to go to in cleaning up his reply for the interview. I mean look at it! It's like decoding a dead language!*

WITHASTICK: Firstly thanks Wildfox for taking the time to do this one-to-one interview. Honestly wish it was for different reasons. However, to the many of member of the AJSA Community may not you tell them a brief introduction of who you are and what you did? Also if you want to share this, possibly what you may do for a living?

WILDFOX: Ah, well for for a long time it was just Planetside 2 and the RTS games with Beef until I started on the Minecraft server. As for what I do I’m a U.S. Soldier with the guard as an 11B1P.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: Can you tell us a little about how you came to be a Commander within the AJSA Community?

WILDFOX: Lol, ah well my first day with AJSA was the day Planetside 2 started up. They asked for help leading, so being in the U.S. Army I’m like “Ya I can do that, sure!” Turns out that’s how you get promoted about 2-3 weeks after I’m an Officer. Than incharge of the game itself and after what Joe did with the event I was made Commander to better lead the once largest AJSA game we had going at the time.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: What history of Planetside 2 and yourself may members might not have known?

WILDFOX: Hmmm I did a lot of work getting the rest of the PlanetSide 2 groups to like us, like TRAF and BWC. At the start both groups were like the rest of the player base of Planetside 2, who at the time hate the AJSA for being nothing but fanboys and all around bad players. It took a lot of work to get them to start seeing us as a group who were better than the stigma given to us. However in the end that stigma is what killed the game for the AJSA.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: What are one of the best memories you have from when you were leading Planetside 2.

WILDFOX: Has to be the 24 hour event. So much work, but I loved it.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: To the Planetside 2 veterans who maybe reading this do you have anything to say to them?

WILDFOX:  to Yes! Go play with TRAF. We as the AJSA may not play as a group anymore. But, we still have guys who running with TRAF, who we’re on good pals with and work well together. We have AJSA members playing with them all the time.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: I know may be swore to speak on, but can you explain what the fabled AJSA Minecraft server to the members who might’ve not known of it?

WILDFOX: Ah right, well at the start Tons always wanted one and I’ve had some ideas. I could say it was going well, but we never really had a big team and I could only do so much. I can build with the best of them, but I can’t do command warps and the plugins all that well. We also got hung up on the 3rd world which was going to be the mini-game world. After a lot of time trying to look for someone to help, we with no luck pulled the plug. That being said it’s not dead it’s simply just going to be some time before we can finish it.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: What are one of the perks of being a Commander will you miss?

WILDFOX: Pfft, perks? Doc locked me in a room and said “here ya go!” I’ve just now got out and I’m on the run… if you see him I wasn't here!
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: What are one of the best memories you have from when you were a Commander?

WILDFOX: Hmmm, just palling around playing games. Really that’s what they AJSA was for. It’s not about Joe, Tons, or Doc it’s for all of us to get on and find some random guy off the site  to play games with that you’ve never seen before. I’ve met so many people that I still play today I’ve helped people find others who even if they don’t play with the AJSA anymore still talk to those people. That’s what I leave behind those ties are what I look back on.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: What’s your favorite video game?

WILDFOX: Oh boy, here we go. Well, Legend of Zelda. It was my first game and still is such an amazing game even after all this time.
    Original unedited reply:

WITHASTICK: Final question, well not really a question. More of a moment for you to speak. I know you’re only simply stepping down from your duties, and you’ll be around time to time. But the floor is yours sir to say anything you may want too.

WILDFOX: Hmmm, well in the end it was fun even with all the problems the AJSA might’ve had. Like the kidnapping (Tons and Doc), and the forced labor (Tons and Doc). It was fun and yes I will be around still willing to help out. I just can’t focus as much as I could back then. So if you guys ever need help and you see me on I’m more than happy to have a chat!
    Original unedited reply:

As a final jester to Wildfox, I’ve linked the video of the 2014 Game Awards Legend of Zelda theme performance by Imagine Dragons and Koji Kondo. As Legend of Zelda is his favorite game of all time, and this hands down is the best musical performance at any Game Show we’ve seen thus far. While it may be a goodbye look at like this. It’s a hero taking a new path, that’ll lead to new journeys. While time may past and he may come back from the path looking different. He is the same… as he always been and always will be.

  7. Tons0fun liked a article by WITHASTICK, Community Spotlight - 8/15/16 Writer's Block
So the last few months I’ve stumbled into a bit of a writer's block, and sadly to admit been going through the motions to keep putting up Community Spotlights. Now before we continue on, let me make something very clear. This not me making a plea for help or people to feel sorry for me. This is just me trying to reach out and explain something about how I feel with Community Spotlight. In hopes to possibly find something out, to find the correct path around this block. Think of it like an exercise for the creative mind (Maybe).

Like I said, I’ve been in this block for the last few months and mostly going through the motions when making these articles. That’s not to say anything I’ve made was meaningless or the people featured in them were not worth wild. It’s more in the sense that I struggle to understand what is interesting and what is not as a reader. But why, do I struggle with that? Well what creative feedback can I get from what I’ve been doing. From what I’ve seen even if it’s me going through the motions or me creating an interesting interview with a community member the same amount of feedback is there. The same amount of interest is there. What do I learn from that? That no matter what I write I’ll get the same feedback? If I just upload an article that features me just sitting here rambling on about a writer’s block, will I see the same kind of feedback?

Do I try to create a Community Spotlight for the people or for myself? What I find interesting may not seem interesting to others (Again from the same amount of feedback). Possibly the style needs to change, the approach needs to change? But again how do I know which way to change it? What do I change… do I change for the feedback that hasn’t change or do I change for myself. Maybe that is where my writer's blocks has come to. Maybe I need to go back to the idea that I am making Community Spotlight the way I want it. The way I know is interesting and different from before, at least to myself it is.

So that’s it, starting next week we’ll get back on track (for real) and do things my why (again). And hey! I can't really complain all too much can I? I get to do something that even lets me openly talk about a trouble to it's Community (If they read it that is). I know I rambled around the idea that the feedback hasn’t changed… but hey why not change that and leave feedback. And just so that this Community Spotlight isn't "First world problems, the article" let's get some Spotlights in here.

Not gonna lie, I have a soft spot for Alexander452 videos. By soft spot I mean where my laughter hurts the most, in my soul. Anyway! Alexander sneaks out yet another funny video from another Expeditionary Force event, which this time was centered around PayDay 2. It’s as if he sells the idea of Expeditionary Force being a fun event (And not a Game Nights knock off) better. Maybe Commander Conan (You know the Commander I called Scottish, when he is German) should showcase these videos? Maybe he reads this and takes notes? Maybe he gives me that FUCKING SANDWICH HE OWES ME! Sorry there, don’t know what came over me… what sandwi- anyway! Check out the video and leave some love for Alexander!

Bamboe (The Xbox Minecraft Game Officer) uploaded a video showcasing highlights from Xbox One events of Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, and Rocket League (Again the Minecraft guy) with some… let's say elegant music. Showing that hey, everyone on their platforms can have some fun right? It’s not just PC and PS4 knocking head back and forth all the time. Check out the video if you ever curious on how a Xbox One event might look like.

Last we have another of Wade D McGinnis reviews “The Good, The Bad, The OMG” this time for Headlander. Again another soft spot for Wade, as his reviews are great pieces of content. Informative, short to the point, and doesn’t sacrifice any moment to throw or say something that doesn’t need to be said (While still finding ways to insert short one liners of concerns, positives, or negatives if that makes sense?) I know myself and many of the Commanders watch your content Wade for games that we are unsure of. Definitely be sure to check Wade’s content out if you haven’t, it’s worth that watch.

No Man’s Sky takes a fantasy that many of us all share, exploring a universe freely and venture to discover; Galaxies, systems, planets, geographical wonders, creatures, aliens, items, ships, space stations, space battles, and more. You can venture from any mountain you see on a planet, to any star in the sky you spot in the entire universe. That’s the beauty of it, sure there is shooting and destruction. But for the first time in a long time we are being given a chance in a game to explore space. Just as we imagine it when we were children, to even right now whenever we see a beautiful star lit night sky. You’re the navigator of your own dreams, placed in a ocean of endless expanding stars.

Challenge: Discover something/anything new first and claim it (Galaxies, systems, planets, creatures, etc). Take a screenshot and share your discovery to the community (possibly share of a story about what you've discovered fictional or nonfictional). Discover more and interesting things to claim Champion of this challenge.

Okay, so last time (which was one week go, if you’re counting) I was complaining about a few things. Mainly about someone ruining my beautiful article banners (Damn jerk). But! As you can see they’re fixed now! Back to normal! (Woohoo!) But there is something missing here… can’t put my finger on it (Um, where’s the Community Challenge?) That’s it! The Community Challenge has been moved back to next week. Now this has nothing to do with last month's horrible turn out, but rather it’s to go along with something planned. Something that comes out next week. I won’t spoil it! That’ll ruin all my fun. Also I am working with some people to bring some new stuff to the Community, hopefully soon (So many damn secrets!).

SO QUICK RECAP, NOW WITH POINTS!
Article Banners fixed and looking beautiful. Community Challenge will appear next week. New stuff coming (hopefully) fairly (possibly) soon (ish).
Oh almost forgot! The AJSA Community made an alliance with TRAF for Planetside 2. What does this all mean? While a lot of AJSA members want to play PlanetSide 2, but the structure isn’t there for us- so we've teamed up TRAF to provide that structure for you guys. Now, the original article goes into much better than I can. I recommend checking it out if you’re curious about playing PlanetSide 2 with others.

Today, well today I’m in a good mood. So Today rather than showcasing just one video, I’d showcase three videos! Because I simply just couldn’t choose, and everyone was waiting for me at the table to order. It all just look so good. So rather play a game, I gave them all a shot. Our first video was created by AJSA member Sw1ftfox, taking a inspiring movie speech and editing it with gameplay from Battlefield 4. I recommend giving it a watch. Our last two videos are both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reviews, I figured if two titans are clashing in the movie I’d have to AJSA member videos clash as well. One video made by Mr_E_Meatshield and the other by wdishon. Check out the videos, and links included to the forum sources.

Games Beaten By The AJSA (2016) is a thread meant to gather AJSA members across platforms and achieve a goal together (What is that goal?) To achieve a really big number, that represents how many games they’ve beaten (How big can numbers get?) Last year members who took part in Games Beaten By The AJSA completed over 225 games total (Wow, that’s a big E-dick). Keep in mind they started late into 2015 with their count (September 11th actually).
Games Beaten By The AJSA (2016) isn’t just meant to show off how many games you’ve completed. But encourages members to talk about the games they’ve completed. Whether it’s shown through written reviews, small paragraph, video, screenshots, etc. Which could accomplish two things. One, encouraging the Community to be active with each other. Two, possibly giving insight to a game for a member who may want to play it.
Games Beaten By The AJSA (2016) do have rules to their madness. You can’t simply go in there and say you beat a game. For games to be consider beaten you either finish the single-player portion of a game. Or for games without campaigns, you play to a point where you’ve seen what the game has to offer. Episodic games do count, but only if you complete all the episodes (Individual episodes do not count towards their count). Like mention before they like you to post something of your experience with the game (So, all based on the honor system).
Games Beaten By The AJSA (2016) currently continue their campaign in hopes to surpass their number last year. Already they’ve achieve over 63+ games completed. But why leave yourself out? Go complete a game and add your count into the ever growing number. Help each other collectively to achieve getting that big E-dick.

In the history of video games we’ve fought battles, conquer kingdoms, and stop wars for many obscure reasons. But, February being the month of Love (and Black History month for America, fyi). I challenge the Community to rethink why they fight these battles, and devote their efforts to the bond of relationships. Mario and Luigi, Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher, Master Chief and Cortana, Rachet and Clank?, whatever floats that boat of yours. Love is expressed and thought differently for everyone. Maybe it’s a couple you enjoy, maybe it’s a bromance, maybe it’s a level of friendship greater than “friends”. Love is love (Man).

Community Interviews will give the chance to shine the spotlight on individuals or groups within the AJSA. Showing everyone (Old and new) the different faces and personalities to one another. In hopes you learn something new today. The questions can be varied between off the wall silly, to more serious (Whatever I desire basically). I hope you enjoy todays Interview.
Today's Spotlight Interview we'll take a look at Commander Conan, who to many of you is known for leading the Expeditionary Force. But to the few, he is one of our newest Commander in the recent past year. We'll be taking a look into him becoming a commander, as a leader of the Expeditionary Force and it's history, as well as having a few laughs along the way.
    Q. What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the line “Between the time when oceans drank Atlantis”?
    A. Isn't that a quote from Conan the Barbarian? This is not going to be you poking fun at my name, is it?
    Q. Why did you join the AJSA Community?
    A. I joined shortly after seeing Angry Joe's announcement of the relaunch of the AJA/AJSA in November 2013. I was quite curious what it would be like to be part of an online gaming community, as I never was apart of one before. So I took the spontaneous decision to join up, got absorbed in the hype of the early months and became involved with the staff.
    Q. Who was the one that approached you asking if you like to step up and become a Commander of AJSA? Also, what were your thoughts when you were first asked to be a Commander of AJSA?
    A. It was DoctorEvil. He approached me in March of 2015, a few weeks after the 2nd campaign in Planetside 2 ended, which rendered me technically AJSA-wise unemployed at that time.
The thing is he didn't lead with the offer of a Commander position, rather he messaged me on Steam and asked me whether he could poke my brain with something. This is when he outlined his idea and vision of the Expeditionary Force to me and proposed that I would lead it. Admittedly I was still worn out after Planetside 2 grinded to a halt and my studies were intensifying at the time due to my dissertation. So I was at first a bit weary and proposed that DoctorEvil might want to find another leader, though he suggested that I'd create the EF in a timeframe that would suit me and only then also threw the incentive in that with that he wanted to promote me to a Commander, pending the approval of the rest of the High Command. Honestly I was quite surprised; I hadn't aimed for a Commander position, as I hadn't aimed for the PS2 leader or the PS2 Officer role before that, but I was nonetheless happy and excited.
    Q. What was the first thought that became the foundation that is Expeditionary Force?
    A. The leading idea behind the EF was for it to operate in a way that would complement the conventional Official/Unofficial game process, where a few members from the community needed to be the driving factor behind a game.
The purpose of the EF was to investigate games on their popularity and suitability for the AJSA, whilst at the same time establishing a foothold there. Should a game be popular enough, those members excited enough about the game to help us run it during the month would form the future leadership of it. Nonetheless such popular games then still needed to go through the Unofficial game process under Commander Seph, where the new staff would be guided on how to run their game in a good manner.
Ever since the concept has been expanded. The EF can now also focus on Official and Unofficial games for a month. This is not to test the games suitability, but rather to direct more attention towards it and offer the pre-existing staff help and guidance.
    Q. Was there other names on the table that Expeditionary Force may’ve ended up with? Like say “Sparkly Pony Cuddle Time” or “Timmy No Thumbs Party Day”?
    A. There was the opportunity, but the proposed name "Expeditionary Force" was chosen, as it related well to its purpose. The name behind the commanding body of the EF on the other hand was discussed more thoroughly.
In case you don't know, the EF is headed by 5 members; 4 of them being Officers and one of them being a Commander. It was to operate with an extremely flat hierarchy, in that all 5 members have the exact same vote, with the Commander only stepping up as an autocratic leader, if circumstances demand a decision has to be made immediately and no other Officers can be found. As such we first had the name Expeditionary Council (in short Council), but that created confusion with the AJSA Council. Thus we looked for Synonyms for Council. Suggestions ranged from being quite silly (e.g. powwow, clan, gang and groupthink) to more suitable ones (e.g. committee, conclave, panel). Despite "Expeditionary Powwow" being a very strong contender, we chose "Expeditionary Conclave", due to having a slightly more sinister tone to it than its contenders.
    Q. If you could, would you rename Expeditionary Force to “Timmy No Thumbs Party Day”?
    A. I can, pending a vote of the EC on the matter and I decide not to; Timmy is a jerk!
    Q. What was it like coming up with Expeditionary Force in its early stages for you personally?
    A. Quite interesting, to be honest. I never created an actual organization from the ground up, so that in itself was exciting.
Nonetheless I had help. After creating a list of things that needed to be done and set deadlines for each task, I started looking for suitable additional EC members. In his proposition to me, DoctorEvil suggested former Planetside 2 Sergeant and former GW2 EU leader Ysnar (aka Tarkston) as my first EC comrade. He accepted the offer and thus we looked at further members and finally recruited Smite leader (at that time) Agosparti, leader of BF4, Insurgency and whatever else excited him this week AverageSpacePope and Mount & Blade Officer Crazykidsbite.
Together we created the EF and the experience and skills the different members were bringing to the table was substantial. Sad to say I am the only remaining EC member, out of the initial founding members.
    Q. Who was (or who were) the one (or ones) that came up with the Expeditionary Force Pip award system? Also, who was the person that design the Expeditionary Force Pip awards?
    A. The raw idea behind the EF Pips came from DoctorEvil; he outlined it in his vision. After the EC had been created, we held a meeting with DoctorEvil, in which he explained in detail the proposed pips. As such we decided to create both Attendance Pips, rewarding those who attend sufficiently during a month and Contest Pips, rewarding those who won one of our rare contests. The current idea behind the Pips stacking the way they do and the Badge-like Pip award for either 6 Attendance Pips or 5 Contest Pips came from DoctorEvil as well. We decided to have 6 Attendance Pips stack into a badge, because of award size considerations of more than 6 Pips and seeing as 6 Pips would equal half a year of good attendance. We chose only 5 Contest Pips to stack into a badge, as we deemed Contest Pips to be rather rare and thus much harder to obtain.
The person behind the excellent design of the Pips, the EF logo and the EC and EF Sergeant badges was backstabuu, who was commissioned on the EC's behalf by Tons0fun and DoctorEvil.
    Q. Do I tell the Community that behind the scenes we secretly call you “Conan, The Scottish Barbarian”?
    A. I think you just did... and I am not even Scottish, I am German!
    Q. Favorite Game you’ve had on Expeditionary Force in 2015?
    A. Probably Rocket League, though unfortunately I was preoccupied with IRL stuff for most of the month where it was hosted.

2015 had a lot of great games, and it also had some bad games. So we challenge you to write a review of what you believe was YOUR worst game of 2015. From the title and article image you probably have figured what this article will cover. Yes, the AJSA Ribbons and Awards have been redesigned completely. Not only do the Ribbons have a new fresh coat of paint, the Ribbons and Awards ideals are now separated and are completely different. Other Ribbons and Awards were also fixed during this process, to work better with the layout. Finally, Not all Ribbons and Awards got this treatment, and some are being left as ‘Legacy Ribbons’. This article will go into detail and explain all changes, fixes, etc...
Now let's dig into... The New, The Fixed, and The Legacy.
Note: Click here to see a Full Comparison of New Ribbons/Awards and Old Ribbons/Award
    The New - Ribbons
Ribbons were redesigned with the inspiration from Expeditionary Force’s Ribbon. With the new design the Ribbons have become more detailed, clearer, and adaptable. The Ribbons are built from a template, that can swapped in and out on the fly to make new Ribbons in the future.
Ribbons are meant to show Leadership of a Faction within the AJSA Community. Representing the respect you’ve earned from your fellow Community Members. A beacon to guide those through the dark, a beacon to build a brighter future.
Note: The PlayStation 4 already has a Ribbon that represents them, it was the reason why I was asked to do this in the first place. It's been added to the line-up to cause less confusion.
    Ribbons Completely Redesigned:

    Brand New Ribbons Added:

    The New - Awards
Awards were redesigned with the idea of being unique and standing out. Awards will continue this design idea of uniqueness, like the Mortal Kombat X Tournament winners being given Johnny Cage's Bloody Glasses. Finally, General Awards will mostly stick to the MVP and Race Winner Award template, but won’t become the norm for all Award designs.
Note: Both Expeditionary Force Pips and Game Nights Buttons Awards fall into this category now
Awards are meant for the few Members who earned them to stand out. For other members to skim pass a post and see someone having a pair of Bloody Sunglasses where a Ribbon should be. Only to leave them saying “What! How did they get that!?”

The Fixed - Badass Seal of Approval
The Badass Seal of Approval was oddly sized originally. This odd size would cause issues with the Ribbons and Awards layout. The Badass Seal of Approval has been resized to match that of Two Ribbons, which will now fit in the layout correctly. The Badass Seal of Approval was also recolored, to appear much more brighter in contrast.

The Fixed - Expeditionary Force Awards
The Expeditionary Force Awards were oddly sized originally. This odd size would cause issues with the Ribbons and Awards layout. The Expeditionary Force Awards have been resized now to fit the space of a Ribbon, which will now fit the layout correctly. No redesign was needed (as of yet).
Note: No space bars were used in this display.

The Legacy - AJSA Year 1 Anniversary Quest Ribbons
The AJSA Year 1 Anniversary Quest Ribbons (say that 5x fast) will be left as Legacy Ribbons. These Ribbons will be left untouched, and will remain a piece of our history. To honor those who earned these Ribbons, as well honor the original Ribbon designs.
Note: Moving forward though, any future Anniversary Events will now give out Awards instead of Ribbons, based on the two new ideals.

The Legacy (sort of) - Donator Club Ribbons
Donator Club Ribbons are being left untouched for now. These Ribbons won’t stay as Legacy Ribbons for long. However, in time they will become redesigned much like most of the Ribbons. The reason these set of Ribbons are taking longer is simple… We want to honor those who donate to this Community with something purely unique. Something that matches the honor of a Ribbon, but the unique features of an Award. Give it time.

    That pretty much covers it…
Ribbons will represent Leadership, Awards will represent unique items for your victories.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy the changes that have come to the redesign and ideals of Ribbons and Awards. If you have any questions, ask below.
P.S. Unless your question is “can you make ‘X’ Ribbon/Award” my answer is… Maybe…
