    Hi folks,

Yesterday I played a lot of PvP and I was realy frustrated by the way how people plays PvP. So I decided to write some basic so our members doest not dishoner Angry Army. I will be editing post so you can check it regulary. Also I expect that our PvP officer will add his post or will Edit mine.

    Basics

Rule 1 - PvP is not about YOU its about yor TEAM

I cant stress this enough. None of the PvP arenas can be won by your selves. Every is about goals. If you focus on completing them you will do much more than by just killin 100 players.. I will remind you of goals in arenas.

Huttball - Love or hate it.

Your goal is to score more points than enemy team. You are scoring point by bringing ball to enemy line. Team who scores 6 points first wins even when there is time. When there is a tie on time out victory goes to team which holds the ball in that time.

    Tips:

Huttball is only arena where by killing oponents you actualy can ruin chances for your team!

Attacking - When you have ball you need to push aside your oponents. Outmanuever them and lock them in local fights. But DO NOT KILL THEM. If you kill them they will spawn in their home base and if their shield is down you will find them defending place you need to go.

Support, Heal, Protect your ball handler. Try to force oponents to attack you idealy in larger numbers... drag them out from the handler - whatever suits your role.
Also you can move forward and wait on tactical places to recieve a ball. If you are carrying the ball - pass it forwand if you cant survive or if you see well placed team member (Idealy on different floor than you are).

Stealth, Speed and good passing is far supperior to anything else you can do.

Defending - Now you can unleast predator in you. When you are defending kills are encouraged. You will send them back and hold their push by that. Allways watch for ball handler. Its better to leave unfinished enemy than stop focusing handler.

Slow is the key here. Slow their progres. Do not let them pass your main defence line. Keep few guys back just to kill anyone who is positioning to recieve ball and score (Mainly operatives and assassins)

Final note: Huttball is mode where shine unbalance of the classes. If there is enemy who knows what to do and has good group for it. (Power tech tank, Assassin tank, 2x operative) You cant win - dont get frustrated its a game.

Voidstar - Use your head and tactical positioning

Your goal is to reach the data core (if attacking) or Defend it (if defending).

Attack - Best known tactic is send majority of team on one door and to second you send 2 steathers with infinite stun. Then can capture it without sweat if enemy is not prepare for it (usualy he is not).

During attack its needed to move through doors as soon as posible. Because times are compared during tie. Also if you defended last round first doors. When you as attacker break them, you win the game.

Defend - Defence is crucial. When you do not let your enemies to place a bomb you have good advantage to next round (if there is one) or you have good chance to win. Never NEVER let the door guarder by only one person. If you do your propability to loose is near 100%.

    Tips:

This is game of atrition. Most important thing here is to be able to fight long time. So resource management and healing are crucial. Try to save your resources to be able to make spikes if enemy is let say about half health acros visible team. You will be able to start avalanche of death. If you use your resources at the begining you risk that their healers will have time to mitigatge that and you will lack firepower (or healing power) when you need id most.

Keep calm: PvP can be stresing but Voidstar is tactical game. You have to be avare of state of door you are protecting. Also you need to be avare of your resources, healtch and idealy positions of your team mates on map. Also watch chat. You can learn about problem and solve it.

    Hypergate

Goal is to hold as many pylons as you can. If both teams have 1 pylon you gain points by transporting energy and by killing enemy players.

    Tips:

As in Voidstar game is about defence and atrition. Keep your team together (Always guard Pylon with 2 or 3, rest can move the map). In combat remember that your death (or death of anyone in team) will cost you much. So usualy its more important to not give up life than take one. Dont be greedy. Play safe.

Also if you have both pylons when reset comes you gain points of oposing tema (points are lock to pylon and are finaly writen to the team who holds it before reset) So it is good tactic to send 2-3 stealthers to get it lets say 30 secs before reset.

    Coast battle/Alderaan

Goal is to capture control towers. Towers controls guns - Guns do damage to the target (Ship on alderaan and Bunker on coast)

On coast you need to hold two at once to do damage (one tower does nothing)
On Alderaan every tower does constant damage to the target.

Main think is to decide whitch towers are important and focus ONLY on on two of them. Its pointless to split forces to try to get all three (Its good idea to sometimes send one man test the defences on last and thus force them to guard it and let you have one free man)

I've now been a yearly subscriber since launch of the game on the EU section.. , I haven't regretted it yet, the game keeps improving even after all this time... Once again I can't waiit   This might actually be a possibility for me to join the AJSA SWTOR ranks, since I do not have to replay any levels, with the new boost system on the NA servers.

    1) ITS FREE TO SUBSCRIBERS

    2) Quoted from Eric: Free Level 60
    Hey folks,
I have seen a few questions around how the “Start at Level 60” will work that comes with Fallen Empire. I want to start by saying that we will be releasing a blog when we get a bit closer to launch that describes all of the nitty gritty details and walks you through everything. But for now I wanted to cover a bit about how it works and address some of the things I have been seeing.
As a subscriber, when you get Fallen Empire you will receive one free level 60 character. This character must be a new character, you cannot “boost” an existing character up to 60. Beyond that first one which is included free with KOTFE, you can purchase additional level 60 characters through the Cartel Market at any time. I know that this raised the question of character limits as well. In talking with the development team, the plan is to increase the subscriber maximum character limit per server by 2 for the Fallen Empire launch. Not confirmation it will happen, but it is definitely their goal!
I know you still have many questions, such as how this impacts Class story, etc. We will be revealing all of these details down the line as we get closer to launch.
    Thanks!
    -eric

What does this mean for the guild?

Simply put we can now launch conquest of planets. These events change on a weekly and Bi-weekly bases. It will require many hours of preparation for the guild to take a planet. We will need crafter's, people to run FP's, WZ's, Op's, and Herioc's depending on which planet we wish to take.

News concerning Planetary contest will be coming shortly.

Thanks again to all guild members who have donated and made this possible.

Honestly, public speaking is the bane of my existence haha. You all put me on the spot which makes it worse! I'm not Joe. So not Joe. Last I knew Joe's not a chick, and I'm not a dude. And after 3 throat surgeries, my Angry Joe impression is weak lol. I'm not gonna lie, Joe's style of role playing makes it fun, and I do  miss him coming to rally the troops. Thorker may be the Emperor, but Joe's the king of charisma.

Morvenna is different kind of leader than Joe. But I think she is perfect just like that. Speeches are fun and everything, but I like her way too and miss nothing when she leads

If they anounced things they want to change, that means they are aware of need. So I am happy just with anouncment. In year or so game can improve a lot. Spellcrafting? I loved that in daggerfall. If it will work similary... They have me for ever
  19. Gilt liked a post in a topic by Scalier Nebula in ESO PVP Tips for noobs?
Stone Trebs are the best ranged equipment for sieging fortifications. The best to bring down a main door is a Battering Ram but make sure to clear the front gate before setting it down and make sure you have a siege shield and a healer with you if there is boiling oil. Teamwork is key in PVP. For anti-player & siege The Fire Ballista, Fire Catapults or Fire Trebs are better for enemy players and enemy siege equipment. Many a time I have died from the Damage Over Time fire effects even when I escaped into cover from getting hit directly. When you bring down the outer wall be sure to pack up your siege equipment because there is a cap on siege equipment and if there are equipment sitting outside not doing a thing that means there is one less treb hitting a gate or hitting a player.
When assaulting a resource point(Farm, Mine, Lumbermill) go after the Mage sitting on the tower and go after menders. Follow this rule when assaulting keeps and such. Mages and Menders are a priority, after they are gone then go after the guards. Concentrated fire is much more effective then individuals going after many different targets.
Blocking can stop spells such as Crystal Fragment from knocking you down. It can reduce damage on many ranged attacks and melee attacks.
And until they undergo a nerfing. Watch out for Vampire Ultimate Spammers. They will turn into a swarm of bats and aren't targetable so stay away from bat swarms. They can also leech life from enemies around them. Best way to handle them is to use knockbacks, stuns, encase, impale, etc to stop their movement. Back away and kill it with fire and silver bolts. And from an earlier post don't try to take on Veteran ranks alone.
If you have money to spare buy some Grand Soul Gems at the Siege Merchant in Cyrodil and you can fill them up by just casting soul trap and killing anything in PVP, a wolf, a skeleton, a NPC Guard, or even a enemy player. That way you can revive your allies if they go down.
Other than that the most important thing is to have fun. Most people on Teamspeak are very welcoming and helpful. And if you are getting beaten badly in PVP you'll have people there to share in the pain or to share in the glory. If you are without a mic then you can always participate in guild and group chat. You can change the chat by clicking on the chat type itself and a drop down menu will open and you can select what chat you want.

Next week on Saturday I was "suppose" to work at 5pm EST which would have ment I'd only be at the event for half an hour, but I called a coworker and managed to swap shifts with them so instead of being off Wensday and working Saturday, I now work Wensday and am off Saturday, which means I can be around for the whole event!
I will of course be recording, and most likely adding in those.. commentary texts lol
    I love adding those.

Yeah. It may be. I must say that even when I did play all TES game from daggerfall I am not so much in a TES lore. When I was playing daggerfall I was too bad in english that I just read nesecery things. Later in oblivion or skirim I had more fun in just doing quests for guilds and wandering the world than doing main quest lines. Now in ESO I am listening to every dialog, reading even books related to the quests. And if I learn something in one quest I am happy to find connection to another quest later. When you realize.. Hey that must be child of that mage I met earlier, poor girl. These moments give you feel, that you actualy live in the world and you are part of it. And yes.. thats why I do not found those quests repeating. Because everyone is different from other. I can recoment same aproach to everyone. Yeah its not the fastest way play the game. But it offer a lot of great stories and found my time very well spend.....
  22. Tikay liked a post in a topic by Gilt in What is the appeal?
Agree with Sgt.Ross. There is few minor bugs which can be disturbing, but at the end I found my self buried deep in game and enjoying it so much that I never expect. For me ESO was just fast made shit which is there just because of huge succes of Skyrim. But its much more. Even if I will play it just one moth, for story of the world it was money well spend. And there is also much fun in PvP. And bugs? I found so few of them that I am affraid that it simply can´t be official TES game. All Elder scrolls games were famous for amout of bugs in them... Hell original Daggerfall wasn´t even finishable without patch.....

Edit: BTW repetetive quests? Do we even play same game?
  23. Gilt liked a post in a topic by Revenile in My Personal Impressions So Far
(I decided to write this up while bored in class, it's basically just me rambling about my feelings on the game so far.)

“You have joined the Hollow Moon, now go acquire some exotic goods from the local merchants, and give the goods to the needy folks around here.”  This was the start of a quest that would give me the feels in one of the segments during one of my sessions in “The Elder Scrolls Online” by Zenimax Online and published by Bethesda.  My character, a Khajiit Dragon Knight named Reina, who uses a destruction staff for her secondary weapon set, had arrived in this little place in the Grahtwood zone (this is, including the starter area of Khenarthi’s Roost, the third zone for the Aldmeri Dominion) and came across a group of Robin Hood style thieves by the name of the Hollow Moon.  Taking up the quest, I got the exotic goods and then went around to find those who needed the goods.

I gave a set to a guy in line who was obviously mentally not there, unlike the other two in that line, he legitimately looked and sounded like he needed the stuff.  The other two were not there due to need, one lied about being married and having a kid and the other… well I’ll just use her words “I’m here because this is where they hand out the free stuff and I want my share.”  So yeah, I didn’t give any to these two.  I gave 3 more of the five sets away, but the one that got me was the very first set I gave away.  It got me engaged in the quest, and earned my respect for a well written piece.

I walked up to a make-shift shelter kind of off to the side of the settlement, and on a mat was a Khajiit laying on it, he didn’t look to good.  His wife tells me that he had been a Skooma addict for three years, but had recently quit.  Now before I continue, I should mention what Skooma is for those reading this who don’t know what it is.  Skooma is a drug in the world of the Elder Scrolls that can cause some serious issues.  Anyway, this Khajiit was suffering from a severe case of the “Skooma Shakes,” which is one of the more problematic side effects of the drug.  The wife told me that he probably wouldn’t make it through the night, and so I gave her some of the exotic goods.  She thanked me and mentioned that she should be able to trade them to the local alchemist for a potion that will help him survive.  I felt like a good person for the first time in an MMO because I got absorbed into the quest.  Here’s the real kicker about this though.  My entire interaction with the Khajiit wife had a bug where none of the voice acting played.  I read the text the entire time, and it was still enough to make me feel proud of the actions my character had just taken.

If it isn’t obvious by now, I am really enjoying The Elder Scrolls Online.  It isn’t a perfect experience, the launch has been pretty rough, there have been many bugs (luckily I haven’t run into that many of them), and bots are currently a problem, even so the lore, the combat, and the game’s world are enough to keep me entertained, something “World of Star Wars: The Old Republic” couldn’t do.  Unlike that game, I have yet, in my nearly 3 weeks and 5 days of game time, to feel like I’m obligated to log in and play, despite the monthly sub.  This was a feeling I got early on with TOR, and it drove me away from the game even bore my 3 months of subscription was up.  It felt too similar to the many, many other MMORPGs I had tried out.  ESO does some things differently, and the land of Tamriel added to that is what keeps me going in that game and having fun (well that and being a member of a fantastic guild, the AJSA).

In my currently 22 levels worth of gameplay, I have travelled across three zones, not including the few times I’ve been to Coldharbour, the realm of Oblivion dedicated to the Daedric Prince of trickery, domination, and slavery, Molag Bal.  Each zone, from the bright, slightly eastern theme of Khenarthi’s Roost, to the more colorful and majestic Summer Set Isle known as Auridon, and more recently, the swamplands of Grahtwood, I have been in public dungeons, taken part in the closing of many Dolmens (the dark anchors Molag Bal is using in attempt to fuse Tamriel/Mundus to Coldharbour, thanks to the work of the future Worm King, the necromancer Mannimarco… I love the lore in the Elder Scrolls), read many books that enrich the lore and faced off against many kinds of creatures, and nothing felt boring or forced.  I’ve enjoyed every second of it, aside from the rare occasions I’ve hit bugged quests that held me back for a bit, but I’ve only run into 3 I know for sure of.

This game has done something no other MMORPG has ever been able to do for me.  This game has made the PVP content enjoyable for me.  I’m not that great at most Player-Vs-Player content in many games, so when I hopped into PVP on ESO, I expected to do it once, and not really touch it again.  How wrong I was.  The last two Saturdays, and the one coming up as I write this, my guild has been doing PVP events where many guild members meet up and do what we can to sway the map in our favor.  Every time I’ve been in PVP it’s been a blast, with the siege weapons, the mass of people, the fear of the enemy Emperor, it’s an awesome component of the game, and I can see coming back for it when I’m out of PVE content to do.

The soundtrack is fantastic, as all games bearing the Elder Scrolls name are, with the title theme having been composed by the legendary Jeremy Soule, while the rest was done by other people, as well as a vocal piece done by the wonderful Malukah.  Sound effects are good, animations are, as odd as it is to say it, some of the better done animations seen in an ES game.  The beast races (Argonian, Khajiit) have obviously seen more love than the single player games, with tails that animate differently on each, and move more believable, and in the case of the Khajiit, eyes that just glow when the light hits them right.  The graphics (in my opinion) are very nice, sun shafts, decent amount of detail, gorgeous specular mapping, it all adds up to an attractive package to me.

If I had to give the game a numerical score (which I’m not, not officially anyway) I’d give it an 8.  While I can understand the dislike, disappointment, and the lower scores for people who have encountered a lot of bugs, in my experience I’ve had a fairly smooth running game that gives me what I was expecting out of it, an MMORPG with the Elder Scrolls setting, and aside from the bug fixes, player homes and more content to keep me a subscriber, I can’t really ask for more than I have.  (It also helps that I got the Physical Imperial Edition, not for the digital extras, hell I haven’t used my Pledge of Mara yet… But for the FANTASTIC art/lore book that came with it.  Oh and I guess the statue of Molag Bal is nice too.)

ESO is a hard game to just recommend, it must be approached with the correct mindset.  If you don’t like MMOs, or for some reason are turned off by subscription prices to a game that costs full price (like WoW, SW:TOR and others when they first came out), hate the Elder Scrolls series, or can’t stand bugs in a game at launch, then you won’t like this game.  If you like the Elder Scrolls, and MMORPGs, and go into the game expecting “Skyrim with more players” you WILL be disappointed and not like it.  It must be gone into with the mindset of “it is still an MMO first, and it takes place in Tamriel.”  Even then however, the game just might not be for you, nothing wrong with that.  I will say this though, it is NOT fact that the game sucks, that is a subjective view.  It may suck for you, but not for others, and as to you thinking if it is a waste of money or not, and you like to tell people that, I’d like to quote the words of Ben ‘Yahtzee’ Croshaw to end this little thing.

“I’d rather be stupid and having fun than be bored out of my genius mind.”

Funny how different opinions can be an same game. Its propably based on how high you have some priorities.

Yes. ESO is overpriced. Yes Imperial edidion should be  basic game for all. Not more expensive one. Yes Horses are realy,
realy expensive in comparison to usual loot. BUT even motifs in game is expensive and its defined by to demand (Primal,
Ancient elf about 25k Daedra about 40k). An that is just a craft style. Horse you will use forever.

What is not point out by Joe a for me its much more alarming is Repair cost. When I am fighting long enough you may be
asked to pay repair cost about 1000g on level 20+- for WHITE or green gear. So in the end I am crafting white gear for me
and when its broken or damaged to much I simply make new one. Its Waaay more cheaper than spending absurd amount of money
    on repair.

But when I move aside money issues. There is gameplay. To be honest I am playing PvE exclusively solo with high volume
sounds and TS off. So the immersion of my experience is much different from Joes. Also I have certain expectations from
MMOs and so I do not expect SP game atmosfere or grafic. So in the end I am realy happy with ESO. I like qquests, dialogs.
Fully voiced game is must for me when I get used to it while playing my hundereds of hours in mass effect and SWTOR. I love
the way how the game is set. Because of hidden quests, craft materials and so I do not see the world as empty. I love it to
be honest. There is allways to do something. And when I have feeling that I have company of other people I join Morwenna in
    Cyrodiil and having great time.

So ESO is game just for me. There is few minor things but for me its more like 8/10
