So many of the executioners son.
Some tactical finesse is needed aswell so Ultramarine it is. Courage and Honour!

But I'll wait until some Reviews are out on this before really investing into it.

If you go by speed runners times you'd never buy another game again.

The record for finishing Dark Souls, a game that took a lot of people an incredibly long time, is 25 minutes and 11 seconds.

    http://speeddemosarchive.com/gamelist/FullList.html

The idea of a speed run is just that ... to do it fast.

But I do agree about this "game" ... used in quotations because it's a sorry excuse for one. It should have been put at the start of Phantom Pain and it's a cash grab.

The fact people are paying money for it is one of the main problems with the gaming industry. People are willing to throw money at anything and it encourages publishers and developers to pull more of the same shit.

And those same people then whine about other problems in the industry without realising they themselves are the main root of it all.
  3. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Cheufade in EU to talk with Google and Apple about mobile games
Oh, EU... You never surprise me.
I think this case is the same as ''bent bananas and cucumbers'' directive. They tried to regulate on how bent the bananas and curvy the cucumbers were, so they could pack them more efficiently, but (surprise surprise) cucumber and bananas didn't go the way EU wanted it to go.
The thing over here is that ''achieving anything worthwhile'' is subjective thing. Something like mining a wall on Dungeon Keeper (2014) might be a huge achievement for me, but for someone else that might be nothing. Also the fact that you don't really achieve anything while you play, except ingame achievements and personal achievements.

No matter how you look these games, they are free to play, it's just that the gameplay might be very dull most of the time, so that's when the critiques come in. If game claims that it's F2P, then you play it like any other F2P game. If the game is boring for the most of the time you play it, then you might as well give it a bad score or note about that.
The government is not the only one that is able to do anything about it, the consumers are: You don't download these games = they don't make these games. If EU starts to regulate something like this, then gaming companies will only add a little more content before you will hit another paywall. The regulating itself is another question, how are you going to do it? Is the game F2P until you hit first paywall? How long the paywall needs to be, so it can be called as paywall? How long you have to wait until the paywall will drop down? And the questions go on.
  4. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Gone in TITANFALL thoughts?
Now you are delving into territory too advanced for their tiny minds.

Talking about PC's with an Xbox user is like talking about magic with a muggle.

Far too mystical for them to handle.
  5. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Gone in EA paywalls
I love how people are blaming the developers of these games and EA for Dungeon Keeper.

You know who is to blame?

    It's not them...

    IT'S YOU.

You pay for DLC, you buy from cash shops, you throw money at map packs and you pay for shit in games like that.

EA as well as any other producer or developer is, first and foremost, a business. They are in it to make money. Even developers you love want money. No bugger does it for free.

If they can make money then they will. Gamers are the ones that make it possible for shit like this.

Aim your blame where it needs to be.

    "Unbelivable!"
    Chris: "What?"
"The DFM didn't crash when we launched."
Chris: "That can't be right, something must be wrong."
"Well we did invest quite some cash into the Servers for them to have enough load."
Chris: "Unacceptable!" *Shuts down half of the Servers and crashes the DFM*  "This is a proper launch, now get to fixing stuff."

And I'm really looking forward to SP, better to not do episodes imo, rather play it at once than having to wait for episodes.

We haven't seen the other models but I'm fairly certain that this gun will come far in the competition.
  8. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Beatmaster A.C. in Will you be getting Titanfall?
    short answer: No
    medium answer: because it's EA
longer answer: i won't Support a Company that fucks up other companies, milks the consumer and because of Origin DRM.
  9. Neravon liked a post in a topic by ViralBunny in Will you be getting Titanfall?
How can i put this in a way that wont make me seem like an EA hater...
    I hate EA,
    Ah well failed.

Its a AAA title from EA with a huge dependance on AI (and that AI to actually work, if its highly scripted and not fluid action-reaction god help it), in game cutscene animations (entering leaving the titans which of course will never cause a CTD) multi leveled combat (floor walls roofs) along with what is going to be a bunch of day 1, week 1 and month1 bugs then hacksploitation not to mention server issues, as EA has some great renown for great servers how will it ever cope with just 12 people... And im sorry no matter how good the game ends up being 6 Vs 6 with or without bot troops is nothing appropriate to the name titan, i actualy imagined 64 or 2x that with a few titans and several support mechs, make the titans real bad ass, i saw them get disemboweled by a few shot on one vid, so titan falls on that epic-ness i wanted to see on that alone.

I dont doubt itll be fun once its working and all, as it has been for a while now, the game just wont be that much fun until its ruined for me, thats if i buy it day 1 or early, so i wont, and ill close my eyes to reviews and look again 2 months after its done like i did BF4 and hope for the best.

Will i buy it i think not, i just have no faith in EA, will i eat my own hat and buy it 2 months later when EA proves they can pull out a decent game, naturally.

Very nice to hear, I'm glad that this isn't being rushed like some other Orgs are right now.

The only thing that I'd have right now would be that some of the officers come out of different Timezones. Ofc not every one out of a different Zone but enough so that everybody has at least somebody to contact in his normalish "gametime" and be able to participate in some events at those times.

Not that it's overly important just to keep in consideration.
  11. Glaice liked a post in a topic by Neravon in What if Total War games came to Console platforms
Controllers are a very bad control interface for RTS games. The thing is that those games have been spesifically made for Mouse and Keyboard, a Joystick would work just as badly as a Controller.

They're not made for games in which you need to move your mouse over spesific units and use some tabs for Diplomacy/Lists etc.
It can work sure, but it is a very bad Idea since it's a pain to work around the issues that exist with the controller interface.

Halo wars was alright, I've got the game myself, but comparing it to the Total War series or the Civ series you immediately notice that you've got a huge difference in complexity and dept of game mechanics.

In that case you don't post either.

And yes many people think Youtubers should get a "real" job. Why?

Simple, jealousy, they see that Joe and others are actually enjoying doing what they do and having the opportunity to do what they love and they can't.
For christs sake if a man has worked hard to get to the point he's at right now he bloody well deserves it, just because you are too lazy to tear your ass up for something you love doesn't mean he should be denied that right aswell.

Grrrr this mindset of "He has more and is happier than me, that isn't fair." is just childish and annoys the hell out of me.
The world isn't fair, get used to it.

Youtube shouldn't get any money from those Vids either, I'm sure they'd overthink their policy after having the cashflow stop.

  17. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Angry Joe in Angry Joe - How would you make VGX Better?
So the VGX Awards show has just wrapped up!

This year the show was shown online completely without a televised run. It was clearly much smaller in scope, but at the same time felt more up close and personal.

My opinion? Tons and tons of thoughts, I'm considering making a VLOG if I can get my hands on some footage of the show.

Basically, it boils down to I liked the new format. Not only is it free from its television overlords and overbearing corporate advertisers, but it felt a lot more gamer-centric. I especially liked the piece on the Kong competition; it even highlighted how games are being played and enjoyed by professional doctors. More of that. There were tons of cool announcements (NoMansSky in particular), and obviously lots of media and trailers which I all liked.

Joel Mchale as a host seemed very awkward, disinterested, and made a lot of jokes at the expense of what people USED to typically view gamers as---basement dwellers, etc. Some of his material was cringe worthy. Hell, at times I thought that Geoff was going to punch him for all the layers jokes he was making and busting his balls over, lol. I was hoping for a fist fight by the end. You could tell how uncomfortable Joel seemed to be making Geoff at times. Now that would have been something, huh? Lol, anyways.
Its time for the Angry Army to once again come together to help improve something in gaming. I think that Geoff has an incredible opportunity with this new format free from many of his old advertisers and TV contracts. And I think that we can help him make a better show.

In this thread I'd love for you guys to simply write:
What you thought worked. What you thought didn't work. And what you would like to see in next years show if they move forward!
I still have his personal email address from 2011 that he gave to me when we ran into each other on the floor of E3 and discussed my first rant on his VGA's back in the day. I intend to use it again here to give a focused well put together list of criticism and improvements for his new format going forward!

Lets please use this as an opportunity for CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, if you want to blow off some steam do it in a vlog or in the other VGX thread located HERE!

All of your feedback ill sort through, see things that I perhaps didnt see in my viewing that some of you brought up and include them in the email directly to Geoff Keighley!

IF YOUR POST IS NOT CONSTRUCTIVE and you just say "ITS BAD JOE" and nothing else. It will deleted.
  18. LordCrash liked a post in a topic by Neravon in should MGS have stayed on playstation?
    Exclusives need to die.
They're not consumer friendly imo, anybody should be able to play a game on the platform they prefer.
So I think it's good of them to not make MGS an exclusive anymore.

Mac is overpriced for the hardware it offers.
But the OS is better than Windows is, especially for working. And as people said music stuff etc. absolutely amazing on Mac.

And well because it's a closed system you can be sure that stuff won't break as often.

I don't buy macs because I don't need a mac for work, there once was a saying:
Mac is the workbeast, PC the gamer.

People use what they need/want, I'm fine with that.
  21. Neravon liked a post in a topic by Turbowullie in Gran Turismo 6 microtransactions revealed.
Why? Why get used to it? Why accept your wallet being raped just because companies want to make 20billion rather than just 19billion? F that. The gaming industry has been through several crashes in its life and another is fast approaching I hope!

There is no argument that you will need to achieve things in games, thats the whole point! But the problem comes in where devs purposefully make something extremely difficult to get in order to "encourage"/coerce people into paying them more money for content they have ALREADY paid for upon purchasing the game itself. Grinding is another problem, when I game I dont want to "grind" I want to be challenged and I want to feel the achievement of winning but when something becomes a grind its a problem, games are meant to be fun not monotonous.
  22. Turbowullie liked a post in a topic by Neravon in Gran Turismo 6 microtransactions revealed.
I don't have a problem with micro-Transaction in F2P games, in games where I have to pay to get it I rather look down on it, if it's MP tranactions k, I can "also" understand that.
MT for SP I frown upon, yes they can do that, I don't think it's good, but.....

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT FOR THAT CAR!?
The whole cost of the game for one highendcar is just blatantly too much, no excuses whatsoever. They can sugercoat it as much as they want but this is just ripping people off.

I'd like to ask the devs of GT what they think Microtransaction means, because last I checked Micro meant small.
I can't see anything small in that pricing...

  25. mouseno4 liked a post in a topic by Neravon in What you think will have a better Launch: Xbox One vs. PS4
Tbh both consoles had a bad start, and the lineup of games for launch isn't "that" great.
DR3, Killzone, etc. are all good games but as it has been said not real killeraps.

I belive the next 6 months will determine which console had the better launchrun, but even then it doesn't really matter.
Both Sony and Microsoft made a ton of cash already and will only make more with all the games that are in the pipeline.

In a sense there isn't really anthing new or revolutionary in the new generation of consoles, MS tried to bring their Steam onto Xbox which got shot down immediately, which I understand, reason why I bought previous consoles was because it was just:
Disc in and you're ready to go. Done with the game? Lend it to friends.
The future is no doubt the same what Steam does on PC or what MS tried, but people simply didn't trust MS with this resonsibility.

Either way, from my point of view both companies are happy how the launch went down.
I for one am more interested in how the Steambox is accepted into the market when it finally releases.
