The fact that you don't is a serious problem.  Your turning a totally blind eye to everything that CIG does that's clearly wrong.  I want to take a deep breath and say the following words slowly and out loud to yourself:

"It is perfectly fine to charge twenty-seven thousand dollars for DLC in an incomplete game"
    Breathe in.......
"It is perfectly fine to charge twenty-seven thousand dollars for DLC in an incomplete game"
    Breathe in.......
"It is perfectly fine to charge twenty-seven thousand dollars for DLC in an incomplete game"

If this doesn't sound any alarms at all then there is something seriously wrong with you.  Here's the truth no matter how much you hype it:

This game will NEVER come out of Alpha ....... EVER! They are stunting the development intentionally to keep the lucrative pledge store open. They have lied and cheated their fans and business partners repeatedly. People like you have let yourselves be blinded by what the game has the potential to be and can't see what it actually is.
It's sad actually, fans of Chris Robert's previous exploits are just going to continue to let themselves be conned.  CIG will forever tease them keeping it close enough to keep them paying but will forever be out of their reach, like a dog chasing its own tail.

Well, they ditched it, and allot of people thought "Good, because that was ludicrous." Whilst CIG did learn a lesson, it was sadly not the one we thought. They learned "The Completionist Pack" was too cheap so now we have the "Legatus Pack" at $27,000!
What is there to say about this? After breaking Kickstarter promises, numerous delays and excuses to keep this lucrative "alpha" going, more than 6 years of developing a still broken game and sinking close to $200 million of thier fans money into this sinking ship, they do this. I actually have to offer some admiration because this takes some god sized balls to do, whay more man dangle than I have, for example.
I don't care that this intended for leaders of large guilds to supply aramadas, nor do I care for the excuse that they made this because a few deluded prats with more money than they deserve asked for it, this is a slap in the face to the legions of people who just want this game finished so they can play it. I mean seriously, how many of those people who have supported this game was this made for? That's what really pisses off, CIG are clearly more interested in pleasing the rich whales who can afford to line thier pockets with bucketloads of cash rather than the passionate, common fans who "pledged" much lower amounts, but those people are actually behind probably 90% of the crowdfund. This game wouldn't exist without them. Fuck CIG.

May he rest in peace and may his family & friends, including Joe, be given condolences. He battled through his cancer for quite some time now, and it’s sad that this had to happen. Knowing Joe, he’ll definitely make a tribute video soon.

Yeah I just heard about this this morning. Its sad, my thoughts go out to his wife and all of his family.  I've lost close relatives to cancer, its hard, but i believe him and them are all in a better place now free of their broken bodies.  May he forever rest in peace.  Gone, but never forgotten.
To the trolls that have come out of the woodworks on this.  Karma is a bitch, and it always comes around.

Fun myth fact: now that we know Atreus is actually Loki, Kratos and Faye are essentially Fárbauti and Laufey, Loki's parents in the Norse legend. And sure enough in the mural depicting the event of the game at the end,

Kratos is highlighted as  ᚠᚨᚱᛒᚨᚢᛏᛁ , which means Fárbauti.
I would love to see what Faye actually looks like before she died. You have to be one badass woman to be the wife of Kratos, and she's definitely a complete badass, and quite a good person too from how everyone talks about how nice she is. Well, but through her actions she did just create the timeline to start Ragnarok...... then again, since Odin & Thor are assholes and the people that they killed like the Jotuns are actually good people that they fucked over, Ragnarok is definitely required so everyone can live a better life.
As for Kratos not reacting to his prophesied death, he's probably thinking "It's better this way. I will face my death with dignity, as long as my son can live." Freya is currently under Odin's spell so she can't actually do violent acts like she used to when she's queen of the Valkyries, though I can see in the sequel that Odin will probably break her spell and manipulate her to kill Kratos. Or maybe she'll have a change of heart when she realized that what she's doing is REALLY STUPID.
Hm, that one is just a wild theory & wishful thinking. Tyr is definitely another person entirely. The murals after all labeled Kratos as Fárbauti already, and Tyr is the son of Odin, while Kratos is the son of Zeus. He's pretty much Kratos' polar opposite counterpart. Too bad he's dead since Odin killed him years ago because Odin is afraid that Tyr will overtake him. Man what is it with this series and completely fucked up family life? Though I would love to see if there will be time traveling in the game. I hope it'll be done in a mind blowing awesome way.

When I saw that the game is going to take place in Norse mythology, I said to myself "Loki and Hela will definitely be one of the bad guys here."
Then I remember that this isn't MCU, but God of War, where Gods are a bunch of pricks........... like Odin & Thor. The tonal shift is quite jarring.
I didn't expect Atreus to be Loki this whole time. This little kind boy is this guy??
Then again, this is a setting where the legends are messed around, so I have to expect that. The game even cheekily ties to the legend where Baldur dies after getting stabbed with a mistletoe dagger, while in here he pretty much hits Atreus' mistletoe arrowhead, and then dies because Kratos stops him from killing his mom. Which in turn makes her angry at Kratos and want to kill him......... she's quite a fickle woman ain't she? When this happened I was like "why not revive your son like you did with Mimir's head??" Then the game cheekily mentioned "but then his son won't be the same as before when he's revived. She doesn't want that.".
AW COME ON WOMAN! Your son's a nutjob and he's trying to kill you! Just put him in a state where he's alive and can't harm you already!
Maybe in the sequel the secret is up and then everyone will call Atreus Loki, and a giant bombastic battle will take place in Asgard where you fight Thor and Odin, with the support of everyone who's decided "Odin's been a prick, let's destroy him!", which includes Kratos, Loki, Mimir, maybe Tyr and Hela, and definitely Surtur. We'll have to wait and see what happens next, while looking at this teaser over and over again.

Vice city for me too. I liked the city layout the best. I also liked the buy new buildings to make wages for you and provide new missions thing. I never noticed anything wrong with the combat. Did you play it on a console instead of a pc?
I never could get into SA, something about the dusty atmosphere. freakin everything was brown, and I'm not talking about the people.

I'm still not sure how to feel about Doug and Rob. I mean, I've been a big fan of the Nostalgia Critic ever since 2010, I've rewatched all the hundreds of episodes several times throughout the years, and I even bought a signed DVD from the site a couple years ago to commemorate all the fun times the show has given me.
I guess that still hasn't changed, for me at least. It's been a really fun show, it's taught me a lot about how movies are made, and how they should be judged, and I'm still really glad I've watched it for all these years.
But of course, knowing all of this changes everything, and nothing comes to mind more than "Never meet your heroes". At first when I looked into this, I was optimistically hoping Doug and Rob had no part in it, staying with the site, as bad as it is, because they love their show too much to let it die or something.
But that's... a lot of... nasty documented stuff...

Your giving CIG so much credit for their transparency and communication but just like any crowdfunded project that's just what I would expect them to do by default.  I don't give them any bonus points for that especially since what they are really doing is marketing the ongoing Alpha and its disgusting store.  Take a look at the video you posted earlier, it is literally a commercial for the $400 DLC!  I know they have actual developer updates, Q & A's among other stuff as well but still!

You also keep trying to enforce this idea of their transparency being such an act of consumer friendliness by comparing CIG to the likes of Naughty Dog or CD Projekt Red who develop for the most part behind closed doors.  That point doesn't hold water at all because they aren't crowdfunded and have no obligation to do that!  It's good that the Star Citizen developers are communicating with the fans but that same community are also financiers so that is what I would expect them to do.  They are obliged to communicate, especially since the public investors are effectively the test team as well.  I don't necessarily need to know everything that's going on at Naughty Dog with regards to the production of The Last of Us 2 and if they are being more transparent with Sony (ie: their financiers) then they are with us, then I've got no problem with that.
Most other games even among crowdfunded ones don't use constant external testing and by extension the few that do don't use the opportunity to milk it with so much overpriced bullshit.  I've supported Overload which just entered BETA about a month ago and they have kept up communication, given me access to different builds during the production most of which exclusive as per the contract I made when I backed it by the amount that I did and pretty soon I'm going to have a complete game. The only time they asked for anything else is when the BETA first launched and I got an email from Revival productions offering me for just an extra £20 an exclusive plasma cannon for multiplayer............ Actually no that is a complete lie! they haven't put up any additional monetized content, made any offers or asked for any additional money from me or anybody else at all other than putting the game up on early access.
I don't hold crowdfunded games to the same ethical standard as the AAA industry and in most aspects, I actually hold them up to a higher one because it's OUR money their playing with.

There is tons of other successful crowdfunded games and projects that don't continue to add more and more egregious stuff on top the initial funding like this are you kidding me!  Divinity: Original Sin 2 was crowdfunded and did Larian Studios continue to attempt pull hundreds or thousands more dollars out of it's backers during it's production after the project and stretch goals were already funded?  Hell fucking no!  They got the money, went into production, completed it, distributed the game and/or whatever backer awards to those who invested in it then put it on sale to generate their own revenue.

Why should their customers continue to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars of their own money for the "privilege" testing their unfinished game for them after they have already funded it?  They have given them the money already!  If CIG spent to much, didn't ask for enough money upfront or made promises they couldn't keep on the initial budget then that's on them!  I would say they have no right to nickle and dime their fans until they have developed some post-release content but we both know that the term "nickle and dime" would be a gross understatement.

I haven't played myself (Ubisoft's up and coming Skull and Bones looks more my cup of tea) but based on the content from early streamers and reviews I've seen including Joe @El_Americano is defiantly not the only one who is disappointed with this.
The promise of adding future content,  by which they really mean completing the game for free is not an excuse.  It's clear they released it now to get some money out of it before the start of the fiscal year.  Always be wary of late March releases..... looking at you Farcry 5.

Of course it’s my opinion, I mean no offense to the gamers that are enjoying the game, in fact I am happy they are because I want Rare to exceed expectations.
For me though, disappointment, and it honestly hurts because I primarily game on my Xbox.
PS, because other games lack content, doesn’t  mean we should be comfortable with all games lacking, or using that as the bar, developers, specially first party developers should push beyond what most games offer now days.  And Rare didn’t push far enough.
Black Flag is a better pirate game.

Yeah, pretty much what crab said. Despite some advances the tech really isn't there, and honestly I'm not sure it's even close.
However, when it is...I fully expect to be able to play a game where player responses are actually voiced by the player and the AI reacts to key words in the player's response! It would be the most awesome and infinitely re-playable RPG EVER!
  20. PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Recognition with full speech capability.
I'm not convinced that what your suggesting is even really possible right now.  I know you can get text-to-speech software which works fine as an aid for someone who is mute for example.  For this to work as an actual game mechanic it would also have to use the correct inflections, tone of voice, volume and the characters would have to be animated to match.  In effect it has to do the job of a voice actor and an AI just isn't smart enough to do that!  The only other option would be to get the voice actors to record thousands upon thousands of hours dialog for each conceivable name which is far beyond the realms of practicality.

If handled right. Lately most of the AAA developers have focused less on good storytelling and more on mass market.
But that's not to say they don't try.
Last year we got Horizon Zero Dawn, which was fantastic from beginning to end! Even the side quests were interesting and made me want to explore and find out more about this strange new world after the fall of civilization.
    Aaaaaand then there's Overwatch.
Millions spent on marketing and creating this rich environment with interesting (looking) characters...and the game itself is nothing but a moba arena shooter that does little to expand on it. It irks me every time I hear fans go on about Tracer's "backstory" when the only way to learn it is supplement materials that aren't a part of the game itself. Such a waste of the medium.

I checked temperature while playing, and the highest I saw was 76 degrees.
So unless you got something to add, I think I can finally write off this topic as resolved C:
