Apparently Ubisoft thought downgrading graphics for Watch_Dogs on PC wouldn't come back to haunt them... What do you guys think?
Is it just some hoax, or are Ubisoft in for another round of "WHAT ARE YA TALKING ABOUT?!"

    I'll be there.

True, trying to get the kinect working will probably work just as well as trying to "create a reminder" on the Iphone. My flag may be Norwegian, but my father's side is Scottish, so I know what happens when you try using voice-controlled technology with a scottish accent. Jus' cannae do it.

I'd give you a round of applause Mort, but i'm afraid you wouldn't be able to hear it!
So i'll resort to a good ol' fashioned HELL YEAH! I think that makes my point clear enough.

Haha! Don't worry, I won't leave. Because if I leave, I'll never make it! Never make it! EVER!

Thanks for your support Spade! As a fellow Founder i'd like to welcome you into our midst, and hope you never, ever leave. Ever.

I might not be an Ozzie by blood, but by birth I have staked a claim to the land down under! So it is with great pleasure that I say... g'day!
  8. Oberst Schnitzl liked a post in a topic by Joric in A big HELLO from norway.
It's Norwegian, but no worries! Vowels were pretty common in Old Norse, so adding an i isn't that bad of a mistake!
However, since the Danes and the Black Plague (pick your poison), it has evolved beyond such excessive use of vowels. You'll have to look to Iceland, where their language hasn't changed much since then!
Also, I must make clear to any Danish and/or Swedish brethren that I am only half-Norwegian, so I have no real loyalty to these people. I'd say your dominion over this country has been a positive influence over the past centuries!
Which might make this next part a bit awkward: Fellow people that live in Norway! How nice to see you here!

The websites themselves are more like info database for the game, they're not going to help if you want to learn the ropes, so check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00ZoqAp7Gz8

    Edit:
-D&D can be played by voice alone, but for battles ( or encounters as we call it ) it is often handy to have a gridded paper as well as miniatures. Since we're on the internet and that is impossible, www.roll20.net provides something like a virtual battle map with tokens and stuff. That's the site that we'd be playing if we do get a session going.
-If any 'beginner's guide' or something mentions buying a 'player's handbook', by all means go ahead, but as I said earlier, 3.5 edition is available for free at www.d20srd.org due to some sort of license thing that basically makes the content free. So that's the site which we refer to for information on the game. eg: how much hit points should a Gold Dragon have, or how difficult should it be to track footprints after a heavy rain?
-Sessions are run with approximately 4-7 players, with one of them being the Dungeon Master, or DM.
-The other players take the role of Player Characters, or PCs. There are 6 base races to pick from, like your standard Dwarves and Elves and stuff, each with their specialties as well as bonuses to Ability Scores, which are Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Constitution, Wisdom and Charisma. Then they pick their Class, which has the standard Fighter, Ranger, Wizard and so on.
-Now comes the actual gameplay. The DM will give the PCs a quest of sorts, and after that it is ENTIRELY up to the PCs on how to finish the quest. Like, go crazy. The PCs will describe what they want to do to the DM and the DM will ask the PCs to roll some dice to determine whether or not they succeed.

example: The bridge that links the two platforms has been destroyed, and the alternate route involves going deeper into the dungeon. To save some time and avoid a fight, the PCs decide to make the jump across the chasm. It's a fairly long distance, so on a difficulty scale of 1 to 20 the DM sets the difficulty at 15. Now the players roll 20-sided dice to determine their success. Player X has a good Strength score AND he took Jump as a skill, so whatever number he rolls he gets to add +8 to that number. He rolls the dice, and gets an 8. 8+8 = 16 which barely surpasses the target number, so he succeeds in making the leap.

-As you can see, a party needs to have a balanced team, with different players good at different skills/situations. Need a lock picked? Hope you have a Rogue with high Dexterity in the team, otherwise you may have to break the door down with brute Strength, or persuade the guard to hand over the keys by lying to him using superior Charisma. The list goes on and on. PCs are not told their options directly, they need to use their wits and creativity to solve the issues they face.

example of a smart player: Locked door? Just knock on the door and punch whoever that opens the door in their face.

-The adventures are either pre-made by talented authors, or self-made by the DMs themselves. The DM on the other hand has to make the game interesting and fair, as well as being able to think off their heads. What if the PCs decide to ignore the carefully planned 4-layer dungeon and instead infiltrate and join the ranks of the bandits?
-And the best part is, after you've finished the quest, or rescued the princess or whatever, you get to reuse the same character in the next adventure, facing new foes now that you've gained exp and levelled up. Some PCs use the same characters over and over again, gaining enough exp to sometimes become demigods ( yes there are rules for that ).
-Gosh that was a long post. Hope to see more people interested

  15. Joric liked a post in a topic by Martin6492 in What games are you looking forward to?
We are most looking forward to:
Watch Dogs - mostly so we can control a whole city with a mobile phone that sounds so cool
Elder Scrolls online - we love these games they would have to try very herd to put a foot wrong in our eyes
Infamous Second Son - a little sad we won't be able to be cole again but those new powers look very interesting indeed
Also if Tonsoffun is right about a world of darkness mmo we are there. We love those games and still play the vampire the masquerade games now.
but that's our short list at the moment.

my Favorite review was guild wars 2 because it had everything in it to know if you liked the game and also cause of the funny moments such as the jumping puzzles and how dancing in front of a dragon is a definitely a good idea.

Gran Turismo 6 - Love these series. Once a fan, always a fan.
Watch Dogs - I expect this game will set the bar for next-gen open world games. So let's hope it's good, to set a standard.
The Walking Dead Season Two - If you played and liked one, it's only natural that you're looking forward to this.
Next Soul Calibur or Tekken - Not confirmed yet, but I am looking forward to a new fighting game from one of these amazing franchises.
I am also in the Hearthstone Beta, but as a Magic-player, I prefer Magic over Hearthstone. Hearthstone just doesn't have the depth and thus it bores me quite quickly.
