Why does a game developer have to come up with a story for a multiplayer only game? Does making a multiplayer only game require no actual thinking to develop? This is not a single player rpg or fps with some grand campaign to go through. I don't understand how people just do not get this. My only complaint with this game is the fact that it wants to charge $60 for it. In my opinion, it is not worth that price.
People are way too critical nowadays. Take a game for what it is, if you do not think it is worth the money, then don't buy it. No one complains when a moba comes out without a single player campaign and some even ignore the down right terrible attempt to copy cod in battlefield's campaign mode on some of it's recent titles. If a game is meant to be played as a multiplayer game only, I would rather they just do that than waste time making up some shitty story and calling it the campaign. The worst part is that this company has been completely honest with what it was trying to be and people still buy it and then attack it for not living up to some hype they made up in their minds.

oh in that case... buying a wii u last month. ive wanted to try one for so long, but always put it off because of internet hype bullshit about it being a failed console and whatever.
anyway, recently i was hit with major depression and suicidal thoughts and i was advised to go on medication to resolve those problems, and they have worked brilliantly, so brilliantly that i now no longer have mixed emotions or even care about quite a lot of things. i just get on with my day and do whats needed to be done.
on 1 particular sunday last month i just woke up got out of bed and while brushing my teeth i just decided in 1 instant... "yeah, breakfast... and then go buy a wii U and get donkey kong tropical freeze".
since that day last month i have played that game, finished it, and finished metroid prime 1, super mario 3d world, bayonetta 1, and played a number of other awesome new games and i have racked up 136 hours.
best gaming experience ive had in years. buying that wii U was the best purchase decision in a very long time. its also somewhat special and extraordinary to me because it's part of the new me on medication. if i never went to the doctor to resolve my problems and get help, i would have never bought the wii U, would just still be the pissed off and miserable fuckhead i was always worrying about internet fanboys saying if things suck or not and believing them.
i even ordered new glasses yesterday, in an instant, without caring about the price. i need them so fuck it... i didnt care, no emotions. i used to hate cereals and now im eating more bowls of golden nuggets than i can count, lmao!
so yeah... the wii U, is an achievement for me personally.

Before too many people come here and reply to the thread, here is 3 reasons why I will lock it:
1.) You come to a Nintendo forum and open a thread that Wii-U has inferior hardware comparing to NEXT-GENERATION consoles. Nah, that won't start heated discussions at all.
2.) Just because it's not your taste, why still open a thread here and put it into people's faces? If it's not your taste then don't play them.
3.) Many people do.
Did you try to troll or start a heated discussion on purpose? Opening a thread like this in a Nintendo forum is like spilling fuel on a fire. What did you think to achieve with this? Please don't let this happen again.

those people are just your typical angry fanboys on the internet, of which nintendo probably could not care less about.
i agree, 2 screws to remove a plate is not a problem. i also dont agree with people flaming about no ac adapter in the box. they only cost £5, that's around $7 or $8, big deal... just buy the adapter seperately. it's not like it's an extra £50 for a lousy adapter, and the same adapters for the old console work with the new one.

im really sorry, but a post like this is pretty much the entire problem with the entire gaming industry on the entire of planet earth.
if an ambasador for haters existed, i would vote you candidate.
never mind the stock, if you do some more research you can see that nintendo not only sells consoles, they sell games, lots of them. so many games if you count the software sales it blows sony and microsoft out of the water. they not only sell home consoles, but handheld consoles. except their handheld console is the only loved one in the world. the ps vita is virtually non existent anymore. and what else is there that's "mainstream"? nothing. all there is, is the 3DS. but even so, that's all people seem to want. check the sales. you can see that the 3ds alone has outsold the PS4 and xbox one by miles and miles.
this company is so much better financially, if you really want to go into maths and currencies to shit on nintendo, than the other 2 console rivals. nintendo could burn $250 million on a barbeque every year and still last until 2052. that's how rich they are.
and as for the man in question... oh, should he be fired? the man who brings us virtually every gave you ever played on a nintendo system? if it werent for that man, you wouldnt have:
and the list goes on and on and on... countless majorly fantastic and successful and popular game franchises, but oh no... the man who makes it all happen, is being question on if he should be fired? great.
fuck the gaming community. if this is all people are going to talk about, im done. id rather play video games and have no gamer friends or contact with anyone taking part in the so called "gaming community" that seems to do nothing but shit on anything they get given.
new game comes out, people in "gaming communities" everywhere complain.
new console comes out, people in "gaming communities" everywhere complain.
new DLC comes out to expand the game that was so popular, people in "gaming communities" everywhere complain.
new game gets announced and is not even released yet, people in "gaming communities" everywhere complain.
old game released many years ago, people in "gaming communities" everywhere complain.
complain complain. cry cry cry. im so fed up of this.
Glaice liked a post in a topic by fridgeracer in Can Sonic make a comeback and rival Mario once again?
sonic isn't the problem. it's sega. they're basically lost... they've released numerous bad sonic games in a row and it's probably shifted public opinion to the negative. chances are when a new sonic game comes out, people think it wont be very good, and often when i check the reviews there are complaints all over the place, hardly anyone giving these games any praise.
but this in my opinion should be expected coming from sega. they started making poor decisions with their enormous mess up of the saturn. instead of fixing that by sticking to a minimum lifespan to then release a new console with a new brand, they stopped short, let sony win with the PS One for around 4 or 5 years, and then came out with a dreamcast, but by then everyone was so in love with playstation that they just ignored it and bought a superior PS2.
sega's poor decisions and management cost them their console business. those same busines practises and decisions have lost them the popularity in their mascot today, sonic. so much that they have announced that they will continue to focus on making games for smartphones rather than consoles.
so a company that used to make consoles... now gets by on making cheap smartphone games of which have next to no value, gameplay, and are often filled with microtransactions. success? more like... complete and utter failure if you ask me.

they are still doing very well. financially... even more so than sony and microsoft combined. this youtube fiasco wont make a blind bit of difference, people are still buying the 3ds / wii U and all their games. no one's going to stop buying and playing nintendo over a youtube policy.
ZeroXknight liked a post in a topic by fridgeracer in super mario 3Dworld - didnt like it
anyone else feel the same?
i enjoy the game to an extent, but part of me wants to just get it over with so i dont look at a £42 game sitting there unfinished. here's what i didn't like:
- the timer. im really not a fast paced gamer, and do terribly when it comes to racing against a clock or RTS games. i much prefer platform games like donkey kong where there is no timer in the base levels unless you run a time trial on that level specifically.
- the stars. i have such a hard time getting every single star in each level because of the timer, that i normally just give up and get the level over and done with. but in doing so i eventually hit brick walls where the game's next level is locked or a boss level is locked unless i have the specific amount of stars to play it and continue. that would be like, donkey kong not letting you play the next level unless you acquired every KONG letter in each level. that's not the case, you can continue as much as you like so long as you passed the level. the KONG is needed however to unlock the majorly hard K levels, which can be enjoyed after or during the main levels of the game. 3d world doesn't give you this flexibility, it's forcing you to revisit levels you already did just for cosmetic stars. in other words, to a degree, completing a level in this game doesn't really mean anything if you havent enough stars to take on the next world boss at the end of the world you are on, which you NEED to do if you want to continue the game.
wanting to get the game done with and completed, in terms of, beating the levels and the last world boss, which is the essential point of playing the game... and after doing the best i could to get stars to keep going, i was thinking, hmmm.. i have 149 stars. i bet this last boss wants 150 to play it and then im done.
but no... walk up to the castle and it says, 170 stars. uggh.

i really hope you are right.
skyrim to me, is the holy grail PC game. my mother is into movies, and she would say the best movies ever from her time would have to be Ben Hurr or Cleopatra. im into gaming, and ES V skyrim, is the ben hurr / cleopatra / james cameron's Titanic of PC games.
i would happily throw out every other PC game i ever played and just keep skyrim. so i really hope you are indeed correct on this. i hope that i can stop telling myself that ES is dead and its now only ever going to be that bullshit mmo failure.
thedukeofzill liked a post in a topic by fridgeracer in The Game Industry Might Make Me Quit Gaming
completely agree with apex here. there's always something to play.
i overkilled my problem with gaming though, i didn't just change the kind of games i played, i changed the platform. im now having more fun in gaming than i ever had in years on my wii U. so much fun its convinced me i would be suited to playing on a 3DS, something i always considered inferior to the ps vita... and i did have a ps vita and guess what i did with that.. sold it after 1 month only, it was that crap lol!
as he said, there's ALWAYS something out there for you, you just have to look for it. it isn't going to fall off a tree and go straight into your hands for you, you have to look, explore, adventure on the internet on amazon or google and find some new games.
even here on these forums, make a recomendation thread asking for some specific games you are interested in or genres, whatever people post... you might not know about those games but dont think "hmmm i might not like that", just TAKE the recommendation and trust the people replying to you.
i did it on the nintendo forums asking about 3ds games for a total newcomer. i got recommended some games ive never played or even heard of but i have compiled a list from what i have seen of those games on amazon reviews and trailers and made my decisions based on that and those guys help. do the same.
