Wow, I heard something about PS4s being constrained in production, not exactly sure what it means, my best guess is that they're playing with supply/demand for increased profits. I was the luckiest sonuvabitch on release day, live in the middle of a corn field so I got the last PS4 at my local Gamestop. I felt a little bad for the ten year old who came in after us, but I've loved the machine ever since I got it. Wonderful piece of equipment.

    Also, Sabaton FTW.

Anyone who has any faith in EA is a fool. These fuckers could knock on my door and swear to me that there is oxygen in the air and that's how we breathe and I wouldn't believe them. The great tragedy though is they get their greedy mitts on great franchises like Burnout, Mass Effect and Battlefield and flat out fuck them up.

And now Star Wars: Battlefront. God damn it...

I'm an avid metal fan, but so are allot of gamers as far as I can tell, maybe it goes hand in hand with geeky subculture or something.

Have a great time mate. The franchise holds a special place in my heart.Depending on how much you like it the order i would play them in would be P4,P3 FES, (i think it's the best version personally because i like the 30 hour epilogue added) P4A,(The fighting game that connects P3 and P4) P2IS,P2 EP and don't bother with Persona 1 because it really isn't that great compared to the rest of the series. Have fun

    Hi and welcome.

There's a number of similar threads about this, but I'll give my thoughts. I am getting the PS4 at launch (U'm from the UK to) mostly because I already have PS+ and by spring most of the titles I want from the first year will be out. I think that the hardware issues experienced by the US market have been greatly exaggerated by fanboys and trolls and not that out of the ordinary for a new launch of a piece of hardware like this. I have to commend you for actually taking the time to find out first hand from people what there experience has been like, that's kinda why I'm here to. If the games you're really interested in don't come out 'till next year, I would wait, but it's down to you.

I got my PS4 on launch night here in Canada.  While I've been hearing a lot about problems with the system I have not had a single one (yet, fingers crossed), nor have I heard of anyone I know personally having any problems.  So, I wouldn't worry too much about the hearsay about problems.

Anyway, now onto the games.  Killzone is an OK launch title, the single story isn't very good in my opinion however the multiplayer is a BLAST.  I love it and am really surprised by how much fun I'm having on it.  Battlefield 4 is amazing...when it works...which it isn't very well right now.  EA and DICE promised to have it fixed by next week but who knows.  I've been able to play on multiplayer a bit and it looks amazing and is a lot of fun.  FIFA 14 is much improved from the last gen version, with the gameplay being more fluid, the stadiums are more alive and the presentation is more realistic.  There is a slight graphical improvement, mainly noticeable in the players kits and the crowd in the stadiums.

I'm hopefully picking up NBA 2k14 this week and AC IV sometime next week.  PM me if you like and I can let you know how they are when I get them.

My honest opinion is, I'm really glad I got the PS4 at launch.  It's a great console, the UI is smooth, fast and simple.  The free to play games of Blacklight and Warframe are high quality and the share function is really good (I never thought I'd use it as much as I am!).  At the end of the day though, it's up to you whether you wait or get one straight away!

Why has nobody replied to a 16-17 yo on the thread with a picture of Quagmire saying, "18! Your're first!", or are we as the AJSA to sophisticated to make that joke?

The problem with the X-Box one in it's initial state was the stupid decision that somebody made to have discless play, and here's why.

You see, you can buy games in one of two formats right now. Physical discs or downloadable games (BTW, if I had my way, the world would stop calling them digital downloads, as opposed to analogue downloads? It's pretty stupid if you think about it.). These two formats have their advantages and disadvantages.

Downloads are great because their convenient, gives dev's a bigger piece of the pie, cheaper to produce and are kinder to the environment since there's no shipping, material waste or manufacturing involved. They also offer you discless play. The benefits of physical disks are they're good for collectors and people who enjoy having a game collection, easy to trade in, sell and swap with friends, so arguably makes it a cheaper way to game and better for people who have poor internet connections and can't download big games files quickly.

The installation discs that were planned for the X-Box One have quite literally the problems of both with the advantages of neither. The DRM and used game polices were implemented to combat how easily these games would be to pirate. The DRM to authenticate the files on your console and the used game polices to stop people copying the game between multiple systems. The only benefit would be that people could enjoy discless play without internet, but of course that gets wiped out by the fact the console was always online.

Another issue is the hard drive. It was (and since all X-Box one games still require some form of install, still is) not nealry big enough and thus greatly limits the consoles life span.

Granted allot of this has changed, and I would consider getting an X-Box one if it wasn't for the X-Box Live Gold paywall and the supreme bullshit that it is. Ultimately, consumers want options, and thats what the X-Box One in it's original state didn't offer.

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty about the X-Box One to like. Even though it was so badly presented, I like the idea of hooking up your cable/satalite box to you console and switch between the two easily. I like the new kinnect, seems to bwy way supeior to the previous one and I hope it get's the dev support it desperately needs. It also (at least, appers to) have superior multimedia capability compared to the PS4 and WiiU.

You see, we didn't jump on the hate wagon, we just hated it. Thanks to our feed back, X-Box customers are now getting a much better deal with the X-Box One and should be thankful for the bad press the console received.
