I would go with the MSI between those two, however I would highly recommend an Asus laptop myself as I've had nothing but good stuff from them for years.

I checked on newegg and would HIGHLY recommend getting this while its on sale compared to the two you have, and only 30 dollars more than your MSI choice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232132

For starters it has a better processor in its higher quality i-7. But probably the biggest difference is that it has a 850 over the 840. Not only is it a better model but its a GTX over a GT (GTX has the highest clock speeds and memory compared to the other models of the same card (G/GS < GT < GTS < GTX). From my previous research Asus tends to have the best cooling as well, though I havent checked for this price point (it will probably run cool compared to other brands even if its not the coolest at this price point)

    Hope this helps .

I highly recommend you NOT buy only a single card of Ram. Ram works best in matched pairs for the use of dual channels. If you buy only one card you are essentially halving your memory bandwidth. Yes ram by itself doesn't influence performance by much, but still halving the performance you would get is a bit silly when you can buy 2 4gb sticks for the same price and still have 2 more slots left over to add on (8gb is plenty for pretty much anything still and it will be quite a while and even then EXTREMELY rare that you will need 16 or more). I also suggest switching over to a 7800rpm Western Digital Black harddrive. Seagate is notorious for not being that reliable, and with 5400 rpm you will find your load times slower than you would like, 7800 rpm makes a nice difference and is pretty much standard for gaming for hdd. I now just saw you already purchased your parts but just keep this in mind for future purchases and upgrades.

Installing is pretty easy as well. Most connections you need to make only go one way so its more like a game of matching, and those that don't are generally universal and can be used regardless (PCI-E slots for example). Just make sure you always touch your power supply to ground yourself so you don't accidentally zap any of your parts, ESPECIALLY if you are working on carpet. Only things to note at the top of my head is make sure you ram slots are in their matching slots for dual channel once you get two sticks (they are usually color coded so just make sure they are in slots of the same color), and make sure you apply thermal paste correctly for your heatsink (there are multiple methods that work, you just need to look up one and choose one that you like basically.)

The first training event will start on Saturday, November 1st at 1pm PST / 4pm EST / 7 pm GMT

Quick rundown on brackets and matches.

IMPORTANT MATCH SET UP: Map: Joust. Draft pick (6 Bans). Starting level: 3. Starting Gold 1500. Team Size 3v3

Matchups will be on first come first serve.
Example: 4 teams show up at 3. Those teams will face off against each off (in pairs of course)
    - 3 teams show up at 4. 2 teams will face off against each other. The team without a match will be told to come back in an hour if possible and if the other team or missing member for the final team is seen then they will told to wait or come back at the same time as the team without a match.
    - Any other teams will reschedule for another day

Here is an example of the brackets http://challonge.com/kkjsjnqk
    - these seeds were random and this isnt the actual lineup for the tourney, it simply shows what the brackets will look like

Times: As of now Round 1 is this Sunday, Round 2 is on Thursday, Semi finals are on next Sunday, and the championship will be scheduled between the final two teams.
    - If these times are still problematic even with reschedules, the rounds can be delayed if need be, as it does not completely matter when the tourney ends

The AJSA 3v3 Tournament will be pushed back to a week from now to start on Sunday the 21st instead of today, below I have written up the schedule and some things note.

AJSA 3v3 Tournament Schedule, Guidelines, and Rules

Sign ups and Team Rosters - Teams must sign up and join on the official AJSA site here - http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/tournaments/details/30-3v3-smite-tournament/

    - Team size will be a maximum of 3, as this is a 3v3 Joust Tourney

    - Team Leaders may sign up by themselves so long as they have listed their two other team members in their team description. HOWEVER all team members must have joined the team by the 2nd day of the Tourney (Thursday) or their match up will be counted as a loss. There is little excuse as to why everyone cannot take 5 minutes to join their team on the forums by that time considering you can share your information on the day of your first match. (And if you arent able to get together before Thursday you are probably screwed anyways /evil laugh)

    Unregistered Players -

    - If you have a full team of 3 and a player not listed on your team plays with you on the first day, it will be allowed. HOWEVER That player will now be considered on your roster and you will have to update your team roster accordingly, adding the new player and removing the player that did not participate. Due to the open scheduling of the tourney (look below) back up players should not be needed.

    - If a player not listed with your roster plays with your team on the 2nd day or after, your teams match up will be counted as a loss. However under certain circumstances it may be allowed by officer decision. If a member of your team is unable to play during the main schedule you should refer to the rescheduling guidelines below.

    Main Schedule -

    Day 1 (8 teams) Sunday, September 21st. Start time: 12pm PST/ 3pm EST/ 7pm GMT. Best of 3

Day 2 (Final Four) Thursday, September 25th. Start Time: Same. Best of 3

Day 3 (Championship) Sunday September 28th: Start Time: Same. Best of 5

Expect best of 3 match ups to be around 1 hour long and 2 hours at the most

Expect the best of 5 match up to be less than 2 hours long and 3 hours at the most

The brackets for which teams are facing which will be decided and by Day 1 of the tourney start.

    Match Rescheduling -

If a team is not able to attend their match up at the given time, that team and their opponents may reschedule their matches at any time so long as they complete their match up before the start of the next match up. Example - in this case if a team wasnt able to make it on the first Sunday, they may reschedule their matches at any time so long as they finish before Thursday at 3pm EST.

    - Incomplete match ups: In the event that a team is unable to complete all games in a best of 3 or 5, they may reschedule their final matches on another day in the same manner stated above. If a team declines or fails to at least attempt a reschedule they will be disqualified. If both teams are completely unable to reschedule the match up will be decided by the following

           - If the score is 1-1, the team with the quickest victory will be declared winners. If the score is 1-0, it will left up to officer decision based on details including the match details and which team had to withdraw.

    Starting matchups early -

Winning teams may start their match ups early so long as the winner of their associated match up has also been decided. Example: Team 1 is vs Team 2. Team 3 is vs Team 4. Team 1 wins their match up. Team 4 wins their match up. Team 1 and 4 may now start their matches at any time so long as it follows the basic match rescheduling guidelines. Further example. Team 1 and 4 finished their respective match ups on Sunday, they can start the matches between them on Monday if they so desired (or even the same day they completed their previous battles).

I am aware there may be some loopholes in this guideline and that some rules that may be undesirable but I trust the AJSA to have good sportsmanship on the matter. Many of these rules are in place simply to have a point of reference to be prepared and organized to keep the tourney running smoothly and I do not expect to have to use some of them.

Side note - I realize Thursday is an odd day for many people. If enough people desired, we may reschedule day 2 to be on Wednesday or Friday, depending on what people find most liking. Even though there is rescheduling, I would prefer the official dates and times be as optimal as possible for everyone. Please post in the comments if you desire a change.

Ao Kuang had more charm but Kuku looks cooler. Im hoping Ao will come back as a shyvana (from league) type character with a normal human form and a dragon form as his ult, since that fits his lore I believe. But meh, how can you care about that when there is the coming of the almighty DUNKFATHER!

Hi all, I just want to make a post on what the general jist of what we are planning and my personal take on what we will be doing for this event, since I have not confirmed it yet with magus.

The main jist of what I believe is going to happen or if not, what I would suggest to do for this event, is to have a multi week/month long tourney similar to the official smite weekly tournaments. Teams will be sorted and will fight to acquire points for seeding. The top teams with the most points will then have a final, more in depth tournament, to determine the winners. I can't say if there will be any prizes or anything at this point as I don't handle those issues.

    Process of events in order:
     1. Gathering of attendees to be sorted into semi permanent teams for an AJSA in house tournament
     2. Sorting of attendees based primarily on experience and win rates (Each team will likely have something like 1 veteran, 3 moderates, and 1 beginner). Also possibly based on location (teams of all EU players and teams of all NA players)
     3. Perform Initial practice scrimmage event that day when the initial teams are sorted (possibly in bracket set up). We could also use the top teams of the scrimmage to have BYE games during tournaments if needed for the brackets.
Completion of August 3rd initial event.
     4. Hiatus where people who missed the event can apply with their In game name to further sort into more teams for upcoming events. This could also be for anyone who was left out of the initial picks the first day.
     5. Scheduling of the dates for the tournament days
     6. Commencing of the tournament battles
     7. Final teams chosen based on points
     8. Final tournament date scheduled
     9. The final battle for glory!
Also for those who don't get a team, or don't want to participate full time, it will be likely we will need subs for anyone who cant make it on the days of the tournament. Although for the last tournament it will be likely that your full original roster will be required to participate. Likewise the final date will try to be made as conveniently as possible for the last teams. (there will likely be 4 teams or MAYBE 6 in the final tourney).

Well that's my 2 cents, tell me what you guys think and if you would make any alterations or have any questions. This is also NOT official as to what is going to happen as I have yet to confirm the course of events with Magus. Thank you for your time
