DoctorEvil liked a post in a topic by LoreMaster in any one up for some online roll playing?
Well we could always use the d20srd for 3rd edition rules. 4th edition can work on roll20, but it'd require a whole ton of tracking by the DM as to what Powers the PCs have. Macro-ing works fine I suppose.
Oh btw I'd be game to play if the time works out fine. Back in the old thread, it was customary to post the time you are comfortable with and your GMT time zone too.
LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by Agent of Darkness in any one up for some online roll playing?
so there is this online tabletop program called Roll20 that allows for tabletop roll playing without the need to physically be in the same area, and since i recently got a DnD 4th edition players guide i was wondering if anybody would like to play.
OK to set things clear, im only looking to play, i have no experience being a DM or any of the tools, i am available Friday's any time after twelve thirty in the afternoon american mountain time

Purpose of this Forum
-Provide a place to discuss, recommend, and review board games of any type.
-Provide a place to discussion of Board/TableTop Game blogs, YouTube shows, Twitch streams, and Kickstarters.

Munchkin liked a post in a topic by LoreMaster in AoE 4?!?
My goodness I hope so! I would prefer a 3d remake of AoE 1 or 2, because the time settings are just awesome. Anything pass the 18th century feels weird, imo. But Ensemble Studios is gone I think, so the successor better be good.
I still remember my build order for the Byzantines in AoE 2. Cataphracts ftw.

LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in I just saw the Raid 2. Oh My God, this movie is incredible!!!! Best action movie of all time, for now.
If the thread title isn't obvious enough, I just saw the Raid 2.
Now I think the first Raid movie is badass. It's brutal, the story is simple and easy to understand with some twist here and there, the fight scenes are fantastic and in the end it left me really satisfied.
The Raid 2 on the other hand, took what's great from the first movie and just amplify it by over 9000. The story is interesting with a Godfather esque plot, the acting in the movie is great with believable characters, notably the guy who plays the pretty face underworld boss' son Uco, and the fight scenes, oh good Lord the fight scenes, I didn't expect this movie to surpass the first movie's fight scenes. I thought "the fight scenes will probably be as good as the first movie". However, this movie surpasses the first movie's fight scenes by injecting them with steroids. The fights are now even more brutal, much longer and plentiful, and most importantly, much more "HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS AWESOME"!! Several of the fights that stands out are the prison toilet fight, the prison yard fight, the car chase sequence and the final fight against the final boss' minions. These fights makes me say "OOOOH SHIIIT" in the movie theatre, and by the end of these fights, I clapped. Unfortunately there's not many people in the audience since it's Tuesday and I watched it at 12:30 PM. If it's on the holiday, I bet the theatre will be packed with people and they will scream and clap all the way through the movie.
I am not over exagerating by saying these words, but this movie is most definitely the best action movie of all time, for now. I say for now because I want to give chance to later movies in the future that will surpass this movie. That's going to be really hard to do though. Terminator 2, Hard Boiled, Avengers, Kill Bill, Jackie Chan's, Bruce Lee's, Jet Li's, Donnie Yen's, Tony Jaa's movies, and hell, all the other action movies that you know pales in comparison to this movie. Movie directors both new and old should see this movie and learn how to make action scenes from it. Go watch this movie right now.
No, this isn't an April Fool's joke. This movie is incredible. I'm dead fucking serious. Go. Watch. This. Movie.
LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by Gone in "Unfair" official AJSA games !
To be fair, Joe is American so he probably gets just as bad ping on EU servers as we do on NA.
He's hardly going to drop his daily schedule just to do a stream at what would be his lunch time just for EU folk.
As for "unfair" supporting of games ... I'm going to sound like an arse here but just because you can't afford to join in ESO doesn't mean other people shouldn't be able to. It's hardly our problem.
Not many people play strategy games thus why they are not supported.
For a game to get support it needs to have a large playerbase.
LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by Wolfspawn in Game Devs Choice Honor Anita Sarkeesian with Ambassador Award.
I dislike Anita Sarkeesian. I don't disagree with her sentiment (which is that women aren't portrayed well in games), but I dislike her methods. I find that she isn't really doing anything beneficial to gaming. Pretty much all she's doing is listing off scenes or characters in games she finds misogynistic, most of which are taken way out of context. There is video proof that she isn't a fan of games, though that's relatively inconsequential, despite the fact that it makes her a liar. Not to mention, you can easily tell she didn't really spend that $160k she got from the Kickstarter.
She doesn't really deserve this award, in my opinion. The only reason I think she's getting all these awards is because people feel sorry for her after all these dickwads on the internet decided to harass her. I don't really hate her, but I don't like her either.
I'd prefer not to spend all day arguing about it, to be honest. It seems like a waste of time.

Thanks for looking out Apex Spartan.
1. As has been pointed out by others this is indeed a time based up-rank. 30 days from recruit to member and 90 days from recruit to veteran. This is more than likely going to be tweaked but still be based on time. We are also discussing disabling or deleting accounts that go over a certain period of inactivity.
2. A few forums have been disabled for post count incrementing to dissuade abuse and hopefully get member to reply for good reasons.
3. There was some sort of loading issue with the site earlier today and was across ajs.com so more than likely a server issue. Possibly a DDOS but nothing was flagged by the hosting company.
4. The "In the News" section was indeed merged with general and will soon feature threads posted about specific gaming news by a news officer. Members will be able to reply and have a discussion on that specific bit of news but not start new threads in that forum.
I hope I addressed all of those sufficiently. There are going to be many more changed, upgrades, and new features popping up here soon. Keep an eye out for what is coming next!

The funny thing is Valve was 100% backing Occulus VR for gaming. So now it looks like Valve will have to step in and save the day with their own top secret VR that theyve said is like the best thing ever. If they dont step in Sony is going to shove gaming VR into the ground
LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by TopHatHampster in RIP Oculus Rift
II'm excited to announce that we've agreed to acquire Oculus VR, the leader in virtual reality technology.
Our mission is to make the world more open and connected. For the past few years, this has mostly meant building mobile apps that help you share with the people you care about. We have a lot more to do on mobile, but at this point we feel we're in a position where we can start focusing on what platforms will come next to enable even more useful, entertaining and personal experiences.
This is where Oculus comes in. They build virtual reality technology, like the Oculus Rift headset. When you put it on, you enter a completely immersive computer-generated environment, like a game or a movie scene or a place far away. The incredible thing about the technology is that you feel like you're actually present in another place with other people. People who try it say it's different from anything they've ever experienced in their lives.
Oculus's mission is to enable you to experience the impossible. Their technology opens up the possibility of completely new kinds of experiences.
Immersive gaming will be the first, and Oculus already has big plans here that won't be changing and we hope to accelerate. The Rift is highly anticipated by the gaming community, and there's a lot of interest from developers in building for this platform. We're going to focus on helping Oculus build out their product and develop partnerships to support more games. Oculus will continue operating independently within Facebook to achieve this.
But this is just the start. After games, we're going to make Oculus a platform for many other experiences. Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game, studying in a classroom of students and teachers all over the world or consulting with a doctor face-to-face — just by putting on goggles in your home.
This is really a new communication platform. By feeling truly present, you can share unbounded spaces and experiences with the people in your life. Imagine sharing not just moments with your friends online, but entire experiences and adventures.
These are just some of the potential uses. By working with developers and partners across the industry, together we can build many more. One day, we believe this kind of immersive, augmented reality will become a part of daily life for billions of people.
Virtual reality was once the dream of science fiction. But the internet was also once a dream, and so were computers and smartphones. The future is coming and we have a chance to build it together. I can't wait to start working with the whole team at Oculus to bring this future to the world, and to unlock new worlds for all of us.
FUCK YOU ZUCKERBERG, OCULUS RIFT IS FOR GAMERS NOT PRETEEN FACEBOOK USERS
Berserker liked a post in a topic by LoreMaster in Should I finally try out Mass Effect?
The ending was bad for a lot of us cos they spent literally FIVE years in the trilogy, waiting for an awesome closure. If you finish it in a month or so then you won't feel the 'hit' as much as the rest of us I suppose.
LoreMaster liked a post in a topic by Blue Rogue in Should I finally try out Mass Effect?
Alright so pretty much everybody says buy the trillogy. Done deal, I'll pick it up and play from the start. I'll let you guys know how it goes...if the gameplay is great I'm sure whatever ending I get won't be too bad. Thanks for evereyones recomendations.
