Unless you're upgrading to an X99 CPU I'd just get DDR3, DDR4 performs faster as you might expect, but you won't see a performance gain in games with it.

Fucking perfect! Just like Wolfenstein before, DOOM will have a lengthy campaign. I am expecting brutal and hardcore old school FPS action with a trusty BFG to kill everything.

Oh, look at that carnage. It's beautiful. Reallyreallyreallyreallyreally can't wait to play it. Even though the size of the game will be 50GB like New Order. Urgh, hate that shit.

Wait...... Did he just say “folks playing at the office average 13+ hours in the campaign.” The game is finished?? Well most likely it's a rough version but THEY PLAYED THE GAME TILL THE END?? But we have to wait till May 13th?? I can't wait that long!! GIVE ME THE GAME RIGHT NOW GODDAMN IT!!!!

I'd probably go for this at 600. Alternatively I might drop the SSD and get a higher rated PSU and nicer case, but that's mostly beauty over function.

They could in theory take to building sets (like movies) and or modify the image afterwards.
  11. ofFireandStone liked a post in a topic by Jinzuro in Finally 5,222 Matches Complete
It only took about 2 years, but its done. Could have finished sooner were it not for work, but what can one do? I've had many asking me just why in the world I was doing this, it was a waste of time, etc, etc. For me, its a reminder of a time when one of my best friend's and I got together for tournaments during my early high school years.

Amusingly enough we used to bet money on matches going by the teams we set up when we weren't actually playing the game and focusing much on the A.I. of it itself between studies. Sadly he passed away before graduation from an severe allergic reaction, but you never forget your good friends. I felt no better way then pay a good tribute of my time to something we had fun wasting our time to. Those simpler times we all go through before we get out in the world to work, pay bills, and learn from all the costly mistakes that life has to offer.

To those of you who have good friends. Cherish them well because you really don't know if something may happen to them. Could be years down the road, but it could also be of the next month, week, hour, or minutes of this post. There are times you'll have your issues, but if your good friends and the problem is a petty one kill it immediately. Life is indeed a short one.

RIP Josh, I'll forgive you for winning that last match.

GOG stands for good old games, they sell 100% DRM free games, no key and your free to install and store as many copies as you desire, they just launched GOG Galaxy which serves much the same purpose as Steam minus the DRM.

Every 970 is essentially the same, if your system can handle one of them it should handle any of them, as long as you have a PCIe port and enough power to run the card you'll be fine.

As for upgrading just pop out the power cords pull out the old card (flip back the fin on the right side if there is one) and put new card in the slot, re-insert needed power cable.

I have a GTX 970 and I can say it will play everything you need. For myself I have a GTX 560 Ti at the time before I switched over so if you haven't upgraded in a while it wouldn't hurt top get a GTX 980. Especially since its not like your going to be upgrading very year as they pop out. I mean I Literally used my 560 Ti to play everything right up until I found a game it couldn't play and thats when I upgraded.

My recommendation is always to build it yourself, much cheaper (provided you have access to local computer hardware stores, or don't get absolutely shafted with shipping and customs fees) and has the benefit of being modular thanks to parts standardization, if you don't know how learning shouldn't take more than an hour or two on youtube watching some build guides. If you've ever successfully built a lego set you'll be fine!

I was watching the trailer and was pretty amazed. Then came Obi-Wan Kenobi and told me, "Your eyes can decieve you, don't trust them."
Then Admiral Ackbar tapped me on the shoulder and also said, "It's a trap."

And then when my hopes for this game got crushed, Yoda whispered in my ear, "Impossible to see, the future is."

There is still hope guys... <.<

I say great for the content creators but I have to agree, the design is too "Web 3.0" for me. The only thing we can hope for is that Vessel puts pressure on Youtube to reverse their recent "reaffirming" of their bad rule.
  24. ofFireandStone liked a post in a topic by nickyzhere in LinusTechTips is expanding!
I think it's basically this, YouTube is more viewer friendly whereas Vessel is more creator friendly. I think I'll be missing out on some LinusTechTips in the future because I'm not to sure how much I like Vessel. (even though I did get a free year of it)
  25. Commissar Elusive liked a post in a topic by ofFireandStone in What if scenario: EA never existed
If I'm not mistaken EA helped open up the gaming industry back when Nintendo commanded the console market charging expensive license fees, royalties etc.... They asked for a better deal and Nintendo said "want a better deal? Make your own system" so EA carefully reverse engineered Nintendos console 'legally' and showed it off as close to Nintendos booth as they could, they got their deal.
