  3. Arreyanne liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in Middle-earth: Shadow of War review. More of the first game. Like it or not, depends on you.
Now then. Before I go through how the gameplay of this game is, I'm going to address 2 things that I heard so much about regarding this game:
    1) The loot boxes. Are they required, or are they just there?

Don't worry about this thing. These loot + war chests are not important at all. All of the chests just give you random items + followers, who for most of the time are less powerful than the ones you get in the game and for most of the time in the case of followers, can be converted into gears, and for the items you can just convert them into silver coins, which are actually the currency you use to unlock gem slots for your weapons, upgrade your followers and upgrade your strongholds in the main game. Just by playing the game and fucking around, you can get a lot of silvers and gears.

You don't need to pay real money to get the gold currency required to buy them. You can actually get gold by doing challenges which change each day, like "kill captains using execution moves" or "kill a vendetta target" that sort of thing.

As for the stories that people say about how the final Act 4 requires you to buy the loot crate? Not true at all. You know what the last act of the game is? It's a 10 stage "defend your fort" missions that consists of 20+ fort defense missions. If you actually have a strong defense and a lot of high leveled orcs guarding the fort, there is no need to actually buy any of the crate. You can just play the missions normally. Well.... except when you got killed by an orc with a "no chance" perk on them, which means if you get attacked by these guys, you'll automatically lose the mission and you have to take over the fort back. But luckily taking over the fort is easy since there's only 1 orcs guarding each defense posts, and you can sabotage the defense by completing a mission before the takeover.

    2) What of the game's ending? Is it going to turn people away?
I did say this back when the gameplay trailer was announced
If you are familiar with the Lord of the Rings lore, you pretty much will know that as long as the One Ring exists, Sauron will always return in the end. Plus having a Ring of Power with you will fuck you up in many form and corrupt you. As demonstrated by the many2 people that got consumed by the ring
Not to mention, it's officially confirmed that this game is a prequel to the original Lord of the Rings trilogy films, so you know what that means. I heard that people hated the ending. And since I completed the game, I have one thing to say:

Why?? The ending is perfect! It's very lore accurate and it's not a cliffhanger ending like the previous game. Hell, by the end of the game I actually felt satisfied with how everything ends and ties up to the LOTR trilogy films. I even watched the Return of the King again after playing the game and it flows perfectly. This is bold for me to say I know, but this game is a much better prequel than MGSV Phantom Pain, because that game tries to have a twist that may look cool, but just leaves a lot of questions afterward. This game on the other hand is a good prequel that ties to the film really well. And I am dead. Fucking. Serious.

Now that those 2 things are out of the way, let's get straight to what this game is about. It's a straight sequel to the first game and begins after Talion + Celebrimbor created a new ring of power to counter Sauron's own ring (BAD IDEA). Basically they both met Shelob, you know, this spider in the film
For some reason she can turn herself into a hot chick here. She took the new ring to herself, and then after 8+ hours of gameplay, you finally get the ring back and you're able to create your own personal orc army.

Like I said, this game has more of what's in the first game. Which if you're not familiar with the first game, it's a game that's quite like a mixture of Assassin's Creed with the Batman Arkham games. You can parkour around the environment to do stealth kills, you can fight many orcs at once with your close combat prowess, and best of all, you can mind control enemy captains to work with you and you can order them to do many things, like infiltrate the enemy ranks and backstab high ranked orcs, pick a fight with other orcs, or just straight up blow their brains out. It's all up to you!

In this game there's more combat moves to unlock, more areas to conquer, more collectibles to collect, more enemy types and more orc varieties to destroy or mind control, each with their own delicious characterizations. One time, I even fought an orc named Dûsh, and true to his name, he trash talks a lot, and when I am close to finishing him off, he ran away like a chicken. What a prick!
And I found Kumail Nanjiani in the game.
And I even made him commander of a fort. He has a couple of funny lines in the game, but a lot of the other orcs also have funny ass lines that makes me chuckle. You'll never know what sort of orcs you will encounter in the game.

The gear system has been changed compared to the first. It uses Diablo/ Nioh loot system where you get gears that has different rarities, purple is the best since it gives a lot of buffs, and increases in levels each time you progress through the game. Each gear outside of the common ones have different challenges to them, so if you complete that particular challenge, you can level the gear up further. It also has a gem system which lets you insert 3 gem types to each gear to give them different benefits. Red is all about attack power, green is about health and white is XP related. You can put different gems to each gears and see which combination you like best.

A couple of the collectibles in the game have neat minigames. There's a "cleanse a Sauron Tower" which lets you do a "spot these hidden objects in the world map" minigame, a "collect Shelob's past memories" minigame which lets you do an optical illusion puzzle, and there's ones that requires you to do this.... weird poem minigames. You have to collect 6 words scattered around the map. Once you collect them all, you're able to go into a door, and you have to assemble those 6 words into the poems.

It's a neat brain teaser, and once you solve it, you're given a legendary gear for yourself. Of course the gears themselves will most likely be under leveled compared to the gear that you have after playing the game for hours already, but it's a nice collectible nonetheless.

Oh yes, about the army creator + stronghold attack section. Is it like the trailer?
Of course not! You can't just press a button to execute an enemy that easily.

But for the other cool shit that happens? Yes. Most of them at least. You take over forts by going to different capture points and stay there until it's taken over. That gate thing at the start is not in the game, though maybe that's because the forts I took over isn't the one in the trailer. I took over forts that has ballista graugs instead. Enemies that you killed will come back from the dead. That drake thing is awesome when you use it for yourself. And thankfully that fire drake machine death can be avoided if you play espionage and cripple the enemy defenses by eliminating the warlords.

All things considered, the game does get repetitive once you put 30+ hours into the game. It's the same thing as the first game in that you will be repeating a lot of missions and replace a lot of orc officers to get a better army. If you're fine with that, then that's cool. You'll enjoy this game a lot. Until the last act of the game since it's just a string of 20+ fort defense missions. They should just reduce it to only 10 so it doesn't overstay its welcome. Luckily like I said, it ends satisfyingly in that it directly ties to the LOTR trilogy film in the end,

and it ends happily. With a pretty sweet end credits song to top it all off.
And a pretty sweet remembrance to that Michael David Forgey guy who unfortunately passed away but got remembered through an in game character based on him.

Do I recommend this game? Oh yes. If you love the first game and want more of it that is. But the end game will get repetitive, so beware of that. It's like eating at a 5 star buffet. You'll have so many to eat and it'll make you full if you eat too much. If you hate or don't like the first game, unfortunately this game isn't for you. Better skip this game if that's the case.

I give this game the rating of "take over Mordor with your army and conquer everything again and again, but beware that it'll get annoying during the last act of the game. Though in the end, you'll leave the game satisfied."

    The Master’s Datacron
Starting with ’A Traitor Among the Chiss’ (Game Update 5.6) on November 28th, there will be a new item introduced to the Cartel Market called the Master’s Datacron. This item will allow you to take any non-maximum level (70) character on your account and immediately move them up to maximum level. One unique thing about this boost is that it doesn’t progress your character’s story at all, meaning this is a great way to play through the classic Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ storylines without worrying about your character level!
The Master’s Datacron also comes with the Eternal Commander Equipment bundle. Once you have boosted to max level and chosen your character’s Discipline (more on this below), you can use the equipment bundle to have a full set of level 70 gear for your character. So, whether you are boosting a new level 1 character to play through the story, or you just want to get right to 70 to jump into group activities with your friends, the Master’s Datacron has everything you need.
Since this is the first time we have offered an item like this, find out more about how the item works below.
To start, you will need to acquire the Master’s Datacron and Equipment Bundle. You can purchase it directly from the Cartel Market for 2,000 CC, or you can check the Galactic Trade Network (GTN) to see if another player is selling one. Once you have them, you will need to ensure that they are moved to the character that you intend to boost. As a reminder, the Master’s Datacron will not work on an existing level 70 character.
Opening the bundle will grant your character two items, the Master’s Datacron and the Eternal Commander Equipment box. When you are ready to boost your character to max level, go ahead and right click on the Datacron in your inventory (make sure you are using it on the character you want to boost)! This will begin an eight second cast timer which says, “Promoting to level 70.” With the cast bar complete, you will receive two pop-ups confirming that this is the character that you want to boost. Note: This decision is final and irreversible.
Once confirmed, the screen will fade to white and you will be transported to your player ship, which you will be granted as a part of the Master’s Datacron if you don’t already have one. For those players who want to experience unlocking their ship naturally through the story, you’ll still be able to do so. While on your ship, you will notice a Mission in your log named “Master’s Datacron” with the text “Increasing level.” After a few seconds, that Mission will complete and your character will become level 70.
At this point, you should head to your Discipline window (default shortcut key of K) to choose your Class’s Discipline if you haven’t already. This is important as a Discipline is required to use the Eternal Commander’s Equipment box.
With your Discipline selected, head to your inventory and right click on the Equipment box. This will grant you a full set of gear, based on your chosen Discipline.
You’re all set! Your character is now max level and ready to roam the galaxy. You can see any Missions you were on previously in your Mission log. Feel free to continue your existing Missions or explore the galaxy!

So I quit watching his channel, didnt unsub but wasnt interested in what he was reviewing, showing, and then he added that other guy, which I cant stand, and if he's on whatever Joe's talking about I close the video. Other Joe is cool beard guy isn't.

I think he might of went a bit overboard with his reaction video, and calling people entitled, I don't feel entitled. I just dont watch what I don't like. And to be honest there's been a lot of stuff over the past two years that I havent watched on his channel cause I don't want to watch that stuff. I also don't comment on his channel don't watch the Twitch or have a stupid twitter account.

I'll dig out my info and see about getting into this I think.

  14. Apex Spartan liked a post in a topic by Arreyanne in Why does the new Mass Effect seem to be getting so much flak?
I;m a little late to this party but 67 hours into the game I can now honestly give a fair review.

    1) It starts very slow; it reminds me of the first 7 levels in FFXIV, 10 hour to get to lvl 7 anyone, but thats a different game
If you're going for 100% complete it's going to take 2-3 hours before you get off, The main space station. After the gameplay increases exponentially.
    2) The default female's are some of the weirdest looking character in Gaming period. The default female Quanari in Dragon Age Inquisition look better
    3) The UI there are a lot of menus to go through to find what your looking for
    4) Leaving the space station the game picks up the pace and becomes much like ME2 in advancement.
    5) Female Ryder has a ton of one-liners if you select the right response, nowhere near as serious as FemShep
    6) Yes sometimes the facial animations leave you saying WTF And all the PC's and NPC's have what I consider dead eyes
    7) I miss the mass Relays but can live with the travel scenes they gave us in MEA
    8) Still not a fan of the Mako (Not what they call it this time) but it's easier to drive. A nice shuttle to hop around the planet like ME2 gave us launched from orbit would have suited me just fine
9)The skill system is improved I believe as you can become all or one of the classes in the Trilogy
    10) the romance options are ok but like previous game if you are doing side quest on a planet and not advancing the story arc the romance doesn't progress. In short the Flirt options go away until you advance either you compaion loyalty mission or advance the story, pfft
    11) Combat is pretty much as good as ME3 and ME2, cept you don't have elevated enemies a Vanguard cant get to like ME2

OH left my biggest gripe out.
    THERES NO QUICK SAVE

I give it a 8.5 out of ten. Disagree or agree thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

right mouse click on game shortcut and select open file location

open the launcher.settings file in notepad and locate the below line and edit to the below

    Quote: , "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"BR\" }"

    Change to:

    , "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"     Quote: , "bitraider_disable": false

    Change to:

, "bitraider_disable": true SAVE the changes.
Delete the BitRaider, Movie and Asset folders then start the launcher.

or if you have the old version still on another computer , copy all the game folders over to this computer
edit - going BR to SSN is a complete re-download, going SSN to BR isn't

meaning - going from Bitraider to Regular is a full game download of the assets and movies
going from regular to Bitraider is not a full game download.

Also if BitRaider is showing in your programs locations when you go Control Panel to add and remove program it will also need to be removed and all Registry entry's removed.

Revo uninstaller is a good free program to remove stuff with

Okay, a much needed Letter to the FC:
Alright, well, the last two weeks have been interesting and not in a good way. We had a our first test dealing with a problem between players and while I thought it resolved for benefit of everyone, said issue came back again. This time resulting in decisions that left some of us upset, angry, or just fed up.

After tonight, Baliel is no longer associated with the AJSA Final Fantasy FC. I've found out he went back on what we agreed on and was picking Madoka again. Excluding her from dungeons by name. If that is not sound reason for me to be convinced he's not going to recant his ways, nothing will. When I demoted him and publicly called him out, he quit. He called me a few things on the way out, but honestly, it was going to be messy irregardless. HE IS NOT TO BE ALLOWED BACK.

The thing that gets me is that this happen over the course of the week and I've found out tonight what happen. We need to work on our communication more. We can't let things like this slip by without finding out whats going on. I am well aware that my schedule sucks and i'm not around as much as I would like to be on evenings when everything is going down. Thats why I have faith in my guild officers to help me out when I'm not there. This is an area that we need to work on. Not just to keep the Baliel's from running a muck, but to build each other up and  help us get through this frustrating moments. I want this FC to succeed and go beyond expectations.

We're going to have our share of growing pains, difficult players, and things happening we don't like. Only thing I can suggest is take a deep breath, remember that fun times are still ahead and we're in this together. We're the AJSA and we can ride out any conflict thrown our way; rather outside troubles or self-inflicted.
