  1. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by Ghaleon in Nintendo copyright claims Joe's Mario party 10 video.
I'm sorry, this post is just too offensive to brush off.

That's asking for alot. This is Joe's job. He QUIT his other job to do game videos full time to make his living. And all that traveling around, giving interviews and stuff, he has to pay for that. I reckon he also didn't buy a ps4 and xbone day 1 because he wanted to try the day 1 games, but because he felt it was his duty to keep up to date. He didn't want to complete ride to hell, rambo, and every other game he hates, but he felt like he should. Even *IF* you feel like you HONESTLY would volunteer your job for free just out of the goodness of your heart, you should *NOT* EXPECT everyone else to have that level of generosity, that's madness. In case you disagree there, need I remind you how dedicated and passionate you were talking about living in the northern woods as a hermit, or going on a nothing but cereal diet. I don't blame you, but at the same time I think you shouldn't blame others for not doing their livelihoods free of charge.

Also, this isn't just about Joe's personal matters, he also tries to voice objections and raise awareness about problems in gaming in general. Nintendo's stance on this is one such problem. Now granted, I too think he didn't need to make a 2nd 'angry rant' video (it wasn't really angry or a rant anyway, more like exasperation and demoralized), but that argument is not really significant compared to some of the things he's trying to address.

Pretty sure he made 2 only, and this one as I said isn't a rant, and it's not really anti-nintendo, it's pointing out what he feels are problems with nintendo... I mean he's not overall anti-nintendo. FFS the dude even said he has more fun with his WiiU than his ps4 and Xbone combined, he says he suggests people buy a nintendo.

'little' isn't really appropriate, he spent 100 hours on nintendo footage... on top of buying their stuff... Note I'm not trying to white-knight Joe here, I'm just tyring to point out how ridiculous it is to completely discount such investment as a 'little thing', because I imagine Joe isn't the only person who you fail to appreciate the efforts of.

Joe started making videos as a side-thing. He didn't start off wanting to be paid. However he had a growing fanbase hungry for more, so he chose to try and please that fanbase, dropped his main job, and decided to go full-time angry joe video production. It's not about wanting to be paid first. It's about investing his life into it. He's like everyone else, he NEEDS to be paid somehow, and when he quits his job to do just this...he needs to be paid to pay for his house, his food, transportation, utilities, the network, etc. Now I don't think Joe is minutes away from starving in an alley sitting in a wet box or anything, but the principle is there.

That's bullshit. Virtually everyone in this thread is saying Joe should have known better, that he made a bad move, shame on him. In addition, it was THIS community that tried and convince YOU to try the WiiU and the 3DS. And YOU are the one who frequently "whines like a little bitch" talking about how you can't bother to play your 800 game list in steam library cuz you have no motivation and how society is full of ungrateful tards.

Old? You just got your Nintendo devices recently thanks to the support from THIS community, and you turn around and call it toxic for being the haters? Most people here are happy with their hobby, YOU are the one who made hundreds of posts complaining that gaming is boring now, how you barely even touch 90% of hte games you own, etc. You are the one complaining about the community, You are the one complaining about videos. You complain about the games themselves, the people playing the games, and the people talking about the games. You're the largest complainer I've seen online by FAR. The hypocrisy is off the charts. I've observed this and kept my lips quiet all this time, even partaking in supporting your recent enthusiasm for nintendo, because I truly want people to enjoy games... But I DO NOT accept judgemental jerks running around bashing other people into games, whether it's because of the systems they play, the genres they play, whatever. You are such a person. Heck, I recall how many times you call the Vita a piece of garbage, and I've NEVER seen you even ATTEMPT to say why, you just state it like it's a cold hard fact. Well let me tell you what, there ARE good games on the vita, and even if you disagree there, YOU are the one going out of your way to bring up how OTHER people are somehow WRONG for having fun with a GAME on the device.

You are the toxic one, please don't make this an empty promise like your Alaskan hermit voyage, or your 100% cereal for life diet.

    i suggest an i3-4160 (2C/4T).
cost less, needs much less power and is in games only a little bit slower than a 8350. in some games just like black flag or planetside 2 the i3 is faster.
but if you benchmark many many games the 8350 is a little bit faster (example:  BF4 multiplayer or crysis 3).

safe the money for a 280 3GB instead.
you can get the i3-4160 for 115$ and the stock cooler is enough for this cpu. you wont and cant overclock it (its also not necessary).
if you overclock a current intel cpu you need to reach min. 4,5 ghz or you wont see any difference.

if you like to stream to twitch - use shadowplay. but for this you need a nvidia GPU.
the 2GB 960 hast too less VRAM. the 960 4GB is too expensive.
we will see how the 960ti 3GB performs but this card isnt released yet and the specs are only a leak.
the good thing about shadowplay is that it wont decrease your FPS. the whole transcoding is made by the GPU without performance decrease.
and the shadowplay twitch app (part of geforce experience) is an easy to use 1 click tool.
you can also use a webcam and a microphone with shadowplay.

  4. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by PhoenixShi in Nintendo copyright claims Joe's Mario party 10 video.
From what I understand, Nintendo in these cases performs a content ID claim, and takes the ad revenue for themselves, but leaves the video alone, and your YouTube account status is not negatively affected. This is not the same thing as a copyright claim, associated video take down, and copyright strike applied to the YouTuber's account. It was Joe that apparently removed the video, not Nintendo.

From there you can complain about Nintendo's overbearing affiliate profit sharing program, but they do have a legal claim to it. Joe was apparently aware of the program before hand, and had already dealt with their content ID claim from a past video some months back, so can't claim ignorance as he did last time. The way Joe dealt with this whole thing was honestly kinda childish, even though he had no reason to expect anything to be different this time, he went ahead, and tried to monetize another video of them playing a Nintendo game, Nintendo did a content ID claim to take the ad revenue again, he deleted the video, then made another rant video about it. I had a prof that wouldn't let you come into class late, clearly made that rule known to everyone from the start, but people would still try to make it out to be his fault that they missed out on the first half of the class when they were late as the line at the coffee shop in the school was rather long that day. No, you brought it on yourself, take some personal responsibility for your own actions. TB's approach to the matter where he just calmly discussed it in a video, and why it's a bad idea was a far better approach than the one Joe has been using.

But under Fair Use Law, YouTubers are getting screwed. The Big N has managed to worm their way around it with thier "program" (which is absolute bullshit, seeing how there's a fucking LIST on what you can and can't talk about)

To put it in perspective, EA announced a similar program, BUT LIGHTYEARS BETTER AND MORE FAIR, on April Fool's day. (I believe last year?) That's right. EA realizes a program like this is a joke, and the Big N doesn't. It is a sad day when your company falls behind EA.

EDIT: Don't get it twisted. I love Nintendo. But they need to fire their PR department immediately.

Except he agrees that Nintendo's Creator Program is complete bullcrap too. You don't have to pick a side between PC or console to sympathize with anyone who's affected by the issue. TB being a PC only critic is completely irrelevant to this.

He clearly expressed his dislike of the Creators Program and explained in detail why that is even if it doesn't affect him at all in this video:

Probably the best move Joe could've done was create a dedicated nintendo channel and subscribe that one to the Nintendo network.
But meh. I can live without nintendo on youtube for their stupid policies regarding it. They deserve no free promotion.

There's a difference between legal and moral. Does Nintendo have the LEGAL rights to do what they do on YT? Yes. Is it MORAL? Fuck no.

This topic doesn't need to be locked, but it can be merged with this one: http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/topic/27838-nintendo-copyright-claims-joes-mario-party-10-video/ and we can all discuss it there. I believe some of the points raised here have also been addressed there already.

Actually you know how one of the rules is no Console War topics or anything controversial and stuff? It's exactly because of that. The higher ups want to avoid a flame war before it even happens. However this topic doesn't actually need to devolve into that. The creator has raised some points that were already said in the other thread discussing the issue, and as long as everyone keeps a cool head, we can all have a proper discussion about the whole Nintendo Youtube thing.

There are some in that other thread who've said that Joe should've known better from the previous Nintendo take downs too. Although I agree that Joe should've known it was going to happen, I've explained in that other thread as to why it wouldn't have solved anything even if he signed up for the Creator's Program. Won't bother repeating myself here, as I think this thread will either be locked or merged with that one soon, like this and a few other ones did.

  11. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by Mr_E_Meatshield in Nintendo copyright claims Joe's Mario party 10 video.
Except even if Joe were to sign-up for Nintendo's Creator Program, he won't be able to put up footage for the Wii U Smash Brothers, Mario Party 10 as they're not included in the White List, Bayonetta 2 isn't on there either. We don't know how often they'll update this list either.

Let's be real here, the Creator's Program not only cuts into Content Creator's cut, but is also a way for Nintendo to control what these people are allowed to make. It's not just about whether one is affected or not, it's also about a company saying what is and isn't acceptable for creators. Even if one thinks that Nintendo doesn't need the publicity, free advertisement only ends up to help them, and they don't lose anything at all from it. The Creator's Program is a complete joke, and is basically Nintendo giving Content Creators the finger and ramming it up where the sun doesn't shine.

TB's two cents about the matter on why the Creator's Program is an absolutely terrible idea:

Note that he also clearly states that the Creator's Program doesn't affect him since he only does PC related videos, but he still dislikes this.

Before you say Nintendo is allowed to do whatever they want about people making money out of their games, TB's got that covered too as he said in the above video:

Now before anyone says "Youtube isn't a real job, because you don't pay taxes", let the Nostalgia Chick shed some light on that:

Also, one of Joe's recent tweets:

Also, there's such a thing called empathy in people understanding why others dislike something because of various reasons, and sympathizing with them. It's similar to people not liking Microsoft for their initial plan with the X1's always online policies even if they weren't going to be affected by it. These people are basically seeing a company giving some people the finger, disliking it, and then siding with the affected group. It is why even though I'm unaffected by the copyright issue for Youtube, can understand why it's a completely terrible thing for companies to do. Also why I can totally understand why there are people who would boycott Nintendo products over something like this. I believe Total Biscuit is boycotting Sega games for because of a similar issue.

Gaming is popular and it's divided. You have PC players, console players and then you also have players who fight over games (BF or CoD, LoL and Dota 2) and so on. As long as something is popular and something similar to it is popular too, then it attracts people with different opinions and that leads to fanboys. That's normal and annoying as hell but you gotta deal with it.

  16. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by Mr_E_Meatshield in I got a Gold Mario Amiibo!!! My Super Mario Series Amiibo collection is complete!
    1. Would only make sense if they discontinued the figures after release. However, as the memos have shown, that's obviously not the case. They knew which ones would be discontinued before they came out. The leaks of these memos made people find out which ones would be rare, and therefore be the ones to look for / be more popular. These discontinued figures are obviously sold out, as opposed to the ones that are still being made. The reason for something to be popular for both fans and collectors is rarity, and the prices of these discontinued figures on sites like eBay just prove that point.

2 & 3. Again, They knew which figures to create a "Scarcity" on. The figures that are still available haven't sold out and fill the shelves of stores like Best Buy and Futureshop (here in Canada). If the Amiibo figures in general were as popular as you say they are, they'd still be flying off the shelves everywhere. It'd be difficult to get a hand on any of them at all. However, that's only the case for the discontinued figures. The Mario's, Bowsers, and Peaches, they're still there on the store shelves, waiting to be bought, unlike their "Rare" Discontinued friends.

Funny that these "Less Popular" characters have become the rare figures that everyone wants and are sold out now. But the popular characters like Mario? They still line shelves at stores. Again, if these characters are so popular, they'd be difficult to stock as well. However, that's clearly not the case. Instead, I can go down to Best Buy, Futureshop, Gamestop or whatever store, and get ANY of these non-discontinued figures.

Instead of making less of these supposed popular characters that never sell out and making more of those they deemed unpopular, they just crank out the former and limit the latter, making the latter the more popular figures. Not to mention that some of the stores I've seen have two spots for for some of the figures they have.

    4. Again, this strike will only affects the figures that ARE STILL IN PRODUCTION, as it started in February 2015, the 19th to be precise. Amiibos made their debut late last year, and even before release people already knew which figures would be discontinued, hence which ones would be rare. Suggesting that this strike is to blame for Nintendo which figures to discontinue before the release of any of them would mean that you believe they have some psychic ability and knew that a strike would take place.

Even with this strike, stores are still full of these unsold Amiibos, which according to Nintendo, are figures of their popular characters. I've seen a few be sold (not sold out), only for the store to be fully stocked again next week. If the strike really is affecting the stock of remaining figures, and the ones that the stores are replacing the ones they sell are from their reserves, then these figures can't be selling that often either. But again, this has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DISCONTINUED FIGURES.
  17. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by articman in ESO is dropping it's monthly subscription, worth buying?
Nope, the price doesn't change the fact that it still has a ton of problems. Plus I think it is downright criminal that they are calling this a buy to play MMO. Guild Wars 2 is a buy to play MMO because you buy the game and have access to everything and the only micro-transactions are cosmetic gear. ESO is becoming a buy to play free to play game, meaning you pay 60$ for the game and then there is an in-game microtransaction store that is not just cosmetic stuff and the only other way to get that stuff is to be a subscriber. In other words there trying to do the SWTOR free to play formula except where anyone can pick up and play SWTOR for free you still have to pay 60$ for ESO and they are still offering the option of a subscription. In conclusion Zenimax studios still hasn't changed so stay as far away from this game as humanly possible.
  18. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by Mr_E_Meatshield in I got a Gold Mario Amiibo!!! My Super Mario Series Amiibo collection is complete!
The reason Nintendo doesn't need help selling Amiibos is that people know they'll be limited, so these Scalpers buy them all up to sell them on eBay. A figure being discontinued completely is different from there being a supply shortage too. If it's simply low supply, they're still making the figures, they'll be in stores again. Discontinued figures are gone for good until Nintendo "deems it fit" to bring it back (if ever).

To paraphrase myself, the strike only affects figures that are still in production.
