I have many Gens. It all depends on what I'm feeling on that day so it's great to have choice.

Aye, I could of expanded a little more. I meant to mention about non-MMO multiplayer. Some drop-in multiplayer would be sweet, kinda like Borderlands where things get harder or easier depending on the numbers.
Either way, there's no confirmation on it so just have to wait.

We finally have a look at Single Player, personally I am very excited for SP. I don't usually play SP but this year I might just do that! Here is the Single Player Trailer!

Alright, so the lineup of modes look pretty tidy. All the standard stuff is there, then we have War Pigeons and Operations.

War Pigeons seems to be a variation on the CTF mode, where instead of capping the flag at your base you have to find a "safe location out in the open" (so you can't just hide, basically. You have to be outside somewhere to release it). This mode sounds pretty good for a change of pace, seeing as everyone will be beelining towards the pigeon or the person carrying it. Frantic and all that.
Plus who doesn't want to chase after a Pigeon?

From the description they've given, Operations reminds me a lot of the Attack/Defense mode from TF2 though obviously with some variation and differences.
The Attacker's job is to rush forward and capture the strategic points of the map and work their way through until they reach the last point, at which time the map will go forward to a "stage 2" and so on, presumably until they reach the very last point or until the defenders win at which point the teams will swap.
The Defender's job in this mode is pretty simple. Waste the Attacker's time and manpower until they run out of it using whatever defences they can muster (the site mentions "manning stationary Machine-guns and Cannons").
Another thing it says is that the Attackers must hold their captured points, which makes me wonder if the Defenders can take them back (which seems kind of unfair with the uphill struggle the attackers go through compared to the defender's home field advantage and unlimited respawns).
Overall, I'm excited about this mode the most. It makes a bit of a change from the other modes like Rush or Conquest without messing around with them too much. I'm hoping that it does feel like a proper push for the attackers to work their way through the map and that they don't make it too hard to win (as they did with the Walker Assault in Battlefront).

Yeah I don't know why people get pissed that trench warfaire isn't in Battlefield 1. It would be boring...
I can't imagine it being too fun in any WW1 game honestly, specially BF.

Well most people who aren't too acquainted with the series expect the game to be realistic and then they whine when it's not. pretty much their own fault-

What a lot of people don't realise is that Trench Warfare was not "exciting" or "fun". It mostly consisted of sitting in a muddy and damp hole full of diseases with your mates (typically from the same town or village for morale reasons), playing cards, writing letters and hoping not to die in an artillery strike or gas attack then if they survive all that being sent over the top to die in needless offensives in order to move Haig's drinks cabinet six inches closer to Berlin.
    Fun times.

As for the video, it was pretty interesting to see about all the stuff I've been missing. I didn't get the first few games, myself. Started with Bad Company and Bad Company 2.

I think this is a positive change. It makes the Objective far more important than just slaying blokes. That way lies a glorified Team Deathmatch.
However, by the same token I do like the old system too. I see them representing different things.
The old system is more like a war of attrition, with both sides having limited resources (aka tickets) that they can deploy into the battlefield. Killing and destroying the enemy is just as important as holding ground as it's all about who can deplete the opposition's supply line first.
The new system is like two spearheads meeting each other. They have the manpower and the equipment but they need their men to have the skills to hold the important points of the battlefield as well as push forward to drive the enemy off of theirs. The objectives are much more important than killing the enemy and battlelines will need to be drawn and advances orchestrated to make progress.

That's what I get from it anyway, and hopefully the thinking was to make it more WW1-y by having players required to defend their ground rather than just rushing off to the next one.

The presentation I've seen so far for BF1 has been fantastic. The problem is that this comes straight after Battlefront, which similarly had amazing graphical style and presentation but turned out to be crap. Despite my excitement for it, I'm erring on the side of caution.
That said, I'm happy with the changes they've made and the advances in destruction, vehicle mechanics and other minor details (the zoom in animation for spawning is cool).
My hope is that the Rush mode will involve a lot more of the WW1 Attrition Warfare as players have to fight their way up a mountain or across a field to take Trenches from the defending players. Defence and Machine Gun Emplacements were king on the Western front and millions of men died trying to take them. That's what Rush would be good at simulating.

What's the point of a multiplayer game if you'll likely never meet anyone? It might as well be single player at that point for all it matters.
And Jim Sterling got his site hacked for not liking this bloody game. It's not really *that* unique in style anyway.

Well, unfortunately, as you all know: (http://frontwirestudios.com/the-future-of-galaxy-in-turmoil/),
Frontwire Studios got the dreaded Cease and Desist on July 22, 2016, and the guys had to take the Star Wars IP away from the game, don't think the game is not going to release on Steam, it will, the only thing is that it will be a completely new sci-fi IP and not Star Wars, which is definitely sad since the new Battlefront games that we will get (and recently got in 2015) are shit or mediocre overall because of one thing, EA, aka Electronic Arts, aka Enormous Assholes.
If all of you are asking why did Lucasfilm or Disney decide to take down Galaxy in Turmoil, well, guess what, it was EA who did that, and they not only tasked Lucasfilm to deliver the Cease and Desist notice, but they also had the final decision on completely removing any chances for Galaxy in Turmoil to be released under the Star Wars IP, and I say this because the article on the link above confirms that, and it also shows that Lucasfilm themselves were interested in seeing what Galaxy in Turmoil could do and did indeed wanted to release the game as an official Star Wars game to see how it performed, but unfortunately, since EA has an exclusive contract with Disney that gives them ALL the power in Star Wars Gaming (or in Star Wars Video Games in general), they decided that Galaxy in Turmoil was not worthy of being released as a Star Wars game and that the game should be taken down or have the Star Wars IP removed from it completely if it was still ever going to release (even though modding could give it the IP back, but I wonder if EA will pursue those modders). Lucasfilm had no way to argue on this because, in terms of Gaming, they just serve as some low level licensing company nowadays for Star Wars video games, and EA is the boss in Star Wars Gaming. It's true, Fergie, the boss at Frontwire Studios told me that EA is the one who not only makes the new Star Wars games, but also decides which ones should release as Star Wars games, and no recent Star Wars game can be released without EA either supervising it or approving it.
Why do I say all of this? Because I hate this. I hate the fact that my second all time favorite franchise is going to get butchered and milked by a super greedy company, on the Gaming portion of it, it's true, EA has not done any single game that had zero major issues with it other than Crysis 3 back on 2013 and the recent Unravel game, (and also DragonAge Inquisition if you don't count multiplayer) that's it, the rest sucked or were reduced to become mediocre from now on, and the reason why those two games were good is because they were kind of hidden gems in EA's shitting years from 2012 to now and EA had no expectations that those games would be as good for whoring money the bad way as their other big franchises, that's why.
I hate this guys, I really hate that this is happening, and if EA decides to shut down El Fabricio (the legend)'s Battlefront 2 mod called Battlefront 3 Legacy, I will seriously rage and destroy every single mediocre or shitty EA game that I have on my possession, every single one of them, and I will highly encourage everyone else to do the same thing.

Here is El Fabricio's YouTube channel so you can follow him and his progress on the Battlefront 3 Legacy mod for Battlefront 2.

Presumably this is inspired by Kingdom Hearts/FFXV. It looks a lot like it in gameplay style and graphics.
It's very impressive for a single person's work. I wonder how long it took to do, myself.
  21. Apex Spartan liked a post in a topic by SgtMerrick in Do you think fallout 3 is bad?
No, I don't think it was bad.
However, it's not a Fallout game. It's a pretty decent shooter but it's not a Fallout game. I think they focused too much on the fact it's now in 3D that they forgot what the point was in the first place (by the way, an isometric Fallout in full modern 3D graphics would be amazing). It's another case of game series making the switch but not doing it well.
That said, I had fun with it. The Bloody Mess perk is best perk in the game. I do full explosives playthroughs because that's the most fun to me.
New Vegas was way better though, in pretty much every way.

I agree that FF7 is over-rated. It was the first 3D FF and one of the first 3D games in general but other than that it's really not that different from the three games preceding it. And I know that's heresy to say but I've always preferred the older game's worlds.
FF started getting arrogant at 8 and it jumped all the sharks at 13.
Under-rated, I'll say FF12. It's not a bad game despite what some people will tell you. It's definitely not amazing and in no way is it a traditional FF experience but it has an interesting way about it. Though by the end of the game when your characters are fully levelled, all of them are the same ability-wise. Could have done with a more restrictive level up system, in my opinion.
  25. AJSA Valkyrie liked a post in a topic by SgtMerrick in What was your worst game you ever played
My most hated was FF13. After enjoying every game to some extent up to that point (even 12, which everyone else seemed to hate), 13 was just indescribably atrocious. The battle system sucked. The characters ranged from boring to annoying to idiotic. The story was confusing and trite. And the worst part is that SE decided that Lightning should flagship every spinoff and game-related media AND get like a whole 4 games (I don't remember the exact number) that focus on her.
And I have a sneaking suspicion that she's in KH3 too, seeing as SE likes putting FF characters into those games.
    Fuck that game.
