Our MMO presence was stronger a few years ago, but everyone that would put up the clan tag then have now gone and done their own things. There just isn't any emphasis anymore and more established guilds got bigger and bigger. It happens. Even I just kinda pop into the forums to see how everyone is doing. I got ESO like 2 years ago back around before the Summerset isle expansion. Loving it so far, only MMO I'll sub to.

I guess my prediction came true... The instant he first described it as average on Twitch I immediately knew it was going to get a score of 5/10. Which honestly does disappoint me. This is the first time I find myself actually disagreeing with one of Joe's reviews. For a number of reasons, because I want to at least be fair with why I say this.

1: He bashed the story hard, in a "not-so-fair" way. Unless he decided to make a new character while he wasn't streaming, anyone who watched him on Twitch could see that with the group consistently just rushing through things, the story obviously lost a good chunk of its effect. If we are in fact looking to use Destiny to compare this game with, which he was also doing, I'm truly confused that he would literally give the exact same reaction for the game's characters that he did for Destiny; "You don't remember anyone's name." FALSE. I'm sorry, this is perhaps the only time in which Joe just wasn't being fair. There are plenty of people who can name the characters simply because, UNLIKE DESTINY, you actually had a good deal of legitimate interaction and voice acting with each of them. Jess, Paul and Benitez were all done well and each had a well defined and properly portrayed character design with matching personalities that were easily distinguishable. That's not an opinion, that's pure fact.

Seriously, because bare in mind, he scored The Division LOWER than Destiny. I literally cared nothing at all for any of the characters in that game because they were all basically stupid vendors. That's it. I didn't even read any of their dialogue because, for a AAA game in this day and age, I expect some god damn voice acting. Meanwhile, The Division had loads of this by comparison. And I agree with Joe that credit should be given where credit is due, so why in the hell was it the absolute opposite here?

And with regards to potential? Yes, Destiny had a great deal of potential thanks to the efforts of Joseph Staten, potential that was ultimately wasted. But I fail to see why this game somehow lacks the same potential. The mission you unlock AFTER beating Bliss, "Unknown Signal", does in fact set things up for them to do soooooo much with this game in terms of possibilities. Like, zombies or something close to it actually becoming a thing. Aaron Keener is introduced gradually to you in the missions, revealing him to be the game's true antagonist while Bliss was simply just his puppet. In Destiny? You get none of this. Literally. You kill the Black Heart and then nothing. There's a speech given by the Speaker who has got to be one of the most annoying and useless characters ever in gaming, and then miss "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" who shows up at the end and still gives ZERO answers. Let's be real here, the story in Destiny was literally non-existent, it was 80% left up to the player's imagination and that number is me being generous.

2: This consistent hate on the clothing is getting old... While Joe was funny as always with it in his review, its just super friggen misleading to play it off like you're putting in so much effort into killing something only to get a stupid piece of clothing. I have NEVER received a clothing item from any named enemy. In fact I always end up getting purples. You get clothing in this game so ridiculously easy too, and to be frank my guy looks like a badass. All I seriously ended up doing was taking off the coat and using a Tactical Layer which gives my guy the appearance of a Section 9 operative from Ghost in the Shell. The Appearance crap is 100% optional, you can just remove all of it so that only your equipped armor is showing instead which Joe commented saying you couldn't do for some reason. I guess because he thought that the coat covered the armor.

Or how about some mention that literally every piece of loot you get in this game serves some sort of purpose and has some kind of value to it? Whether its stocking up on useful items for yourself or to give to NPCs, or simply breaking them down into raw materials used for the game's Crafting System.

I don't know, I just feel like Joe was overly bias on this one. He said he really wanted to give it the same score as Destiny for the sake of others who were comparing the two, but I would have much rather he judge it based upon its own merits instead. I mean, yeah, if you wanted to get technical about it if you matched Vanilla Destiny at release with The Division at release, its painfully obvious that just by comparison alone The Division should have been higher. But let's be fair, though. The crybabies dealt a serious blow to the game's PvP because the Dark Zone really is crazy punishing. I'm DZ Level 30 and I've been playing the game completely solo. (I found the experience more enjoyable solo. If I can't enjoy something by myself then its a shitty game, you should never have to NEED friends playing in order to have fun with something) I agree 100% with Delrith with regards to how stupidly pointless it is to go Rogue. Hell, its frustrating enough as is getting killed by the enemies. I had a group spawn in on me and I died, setting me back by an hour. And I'm the sort of person who HATES having their time wasted. LOSING hours of work for a single death is not okay with me. Ever.

That being said, Destiny had shit for PvE but was held up by its PvP. Meanwhile, The Division is like the polar opposite, its PvE is great but the PvP is severely lacking. In which case, yeah it would be more correct to have given at LEAST a 6/10. Me and my lot consider it a 7/10 because there's just more value here than there ever has been with Destiny in terms of what you paid for.

Its not just Joe, either. You see a lot of reviewers giving this game poor scores. Like Jesus fucking Christ, man. THIS is why we can't have nice things. Because they either get shit on right out of the fucking gate or they aren't like the exact same copy/paste formula being used by other games. And other people are hating on this game for even LESS reasons than what Joe gave, we're talking straight up ridiculous bullshit. Some people are taking a dump on it just because its from Ubisoft and no other reason.

Damn... Sorry, didn't mean for this to transform into a rant.

I know. It takes barely any resources and doesn't konk out on you as often as skype. That and you can be in several servers at a time for text chat at least. So I can keep tabs on both AJSA stuff and the other games I run with friends. Lookin forward to seeing more people using it.

This isn't what they promised at E3 at all what so ever. I get having to cut some things out because of time constraints or they aimed to high. But it feels like they aimed the entire game to high, marketed it at what they wished to make and then are giving us a good enough game. Things gone from what they told Joe and other Press. Guild system, Melee system, MMO (It's 4 player co-op with a free for all loot cave area. They promised to see guild mates in the guild base of operations where we can get together and group up and head out. They also promised raids and dungeons) several buildings that can be liberated to become base of operations, the trade mark graphics promises and let downs. I bet the port to PC is gona be shit like all the others and they are gona ammass DLC story stuff. I mean through the whole thing Joe just sounds so defeated when asking questions to see if what he was told was still there and it wasn't. You can kinda hear his heart break. Can't way for a Angry review of the game and joe to tell them they fucked up. I had such high hopes for the game too but it seems they want to make their own version of destiny to compete with destiny even though the consensus is that destiny sucks.

So you all probably heard about Skyforge. Its no ordinary mmo and It launches next week (July 16th).

I will be leading the EU community (at least until a new leader wants to take over). Info about recruitment, strategy and other important stuff will be posted in this thread, so dont miss out.
For now I would like to see how many members are interested in this AAA mmorpg and what role are you planning to pick up. If you are free to play 3 roles are unlocked instantly (Mage, tank, support), to unlock others you need to progress.
I will pick up the  support, since I see think we wont have that many.

    Short info about the game:
    Free 2 play
Does not look pay2win for now. Premium perks are small
Has something for anyone (competitive and casual pve/pvp)
    Instance based
Complex skill tree, a lot of customization
    Action/tab target mix.
    Guild wars (pvp and pve)

Despite being an Unofficial Game now, the activity of the AJSA in ArcheAge can influence it's status in the future! That and big content/expansions for a game can jumpstart it!  The in-game guild will still be there for people who do want to play together!

    Hello everyone, how's it going?

You may or may not know me as an internet loudmouth with pro-#GamerGate leanings, but I'm actually not here to talk about that. If I want to talk about GG, I'll do it on my channel.

I'm a fan of Joe's angry reviews (dat Rome 2 review) and I'm a big fucking strategy gamer, and I occasionally suck at first-person shooters.

I'll be having a conversation on my channel with Damion Rayne on the 13th Jan 2015 at 5pm GMT about gaming, the Angry Joe Show Army, GamerGate, amateur dramatics and whatever else comes up. I'd like to invite you to join us for what I think will be a fun and helpful chat.

In the meantime, I'll be browsing the boards, feel free to hit me up on Steam if you're interested getting your ass kicked at something.

    Take it easy everyone.

What's my sarcastic point? You get what you pay for. Alot of people like to think things grow on trees and blame capitalism for everything and want things for free. Well food could be free if it wasn't for certain laws but antibiotics and MRIs, and clean facilities are not. The money has to come from some where and someone has to make the product and machines and no one will do any of that for free. Someone has to pay. The government? Well that's a good way to get taxes raised and people don't want to pay taxes either. So then when people refuse to pay high taxes or just don't pay them, the government runs out of money because people want free things. You have all the things congrats. But roads are shit, you have no standing military because the government can't afford to keep on on payroll. Companies stop supplying your country with products because they no longer are getting paid because everyone is broke. A bigger better funded capitalist nation looks over at your now impoverished country and it's no better then mud huts and barter system and decides it needs more room. Manifest Destiny.
Now your probably saying to yourself. That's a bit overboard, that will never happen or at least not in my time. Well no, it probably wouldn't happen in your time, but what your kids? your grand kids? your bloodline down the line?
Yeah, the system sucks. No one likes spending money, especially me. I'm frugile or as some people call me, a tight wad. But I understand sometimes you gota shell out whether you like it or not. Healthcare, taxes these things I can understand, hell I can even understand my taxes going to help people with food stamps and medicaid. I've been there, being poor sucks and sometimes you need help, especially now these days, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.
Point is, yeah it sucks, but it's worth it in the long run and the money you shell out now may seem like it's just disappearing but when you need the help or you need that insurance it'll be there. Take it from the guy who wrapped his car around a tree for being young and stupid. Without USAA I would have gotten much less to help me walk again, especially since I had to use a experimental treatment option that other providers and free healthcare would have never shelled out for.

Homophobics complain about same-sex relationships, gays complain when there are none. Once again, trying to be on everyone's side is impossible and quite honestly not necessary.

  22. fuzzypanda liked a post in a topic by fridgeracer in So, the reaction some people have to same sex romance in DA: Inquisition...
i have nothing against same sex relationships / homosexuality in real life. if someone's gay or a lesbian i dont care, i treat them with respect like i would treat anybody, their preferences are nothing to do with me.

but that doesn't mean every game should have same sex scenes, or even sex scenes between a man and a woman, just for the sake of throwing it in there to get publicity, or more sales, because after all this is just a role playing game... why is there a need for a sex scene between anybody? we have had hundreds of RPGs from the dawn of gaming until now without any sexual cutscenes, so why all of a sudden in 2014, the year of the gamergate bullshit, that we get an RPG with sex scenes between 2 homosexuals?

beats me! like i said, i got nothing against homosexuality, but i am most certainly not going to pay money for a game that revolves even 1 part of it's storyline on pretty much 2 men boning each other up the arse. i wouldnt pay for a porn movie that has gay scenes in it, so why should i pay for a game that has it in it?

and why should some people on the internet call me a homophobic asshole just because i dont want to see it? like i said, i am fine with it, but i dont want to look at it or see it, so for that reason i dont want to play and will not play DAI.

im sure the game is great, but i do not want to play something that has gay sex in it, that's not for me.
