Ouch.  Sorry to hear that.  Oh well, at least you'll have yourself a snazzy white PS4.

If I'm honest the revival of this franchise doesn't seem like a wise choice to me, it was a relatively plotless copy of ninja turtles.  Don't get me wrong the was game was fun, challenging (and legitimacy frustrating) but I just don't see it carrying over into a modern game with any merit.

I see it as either a retread sidescroller a typical God of War clone or something, either way not exited but hoping I'm wrong.

I'd mutch rather see Rare make a legitimate attempt at a Banjo Kazooie or Perfect Dark.

(in advance if i don't make sense my bad..  too tired)
I am the hugest devil may cry fan for  a very long time and loved all of them well exept 2nd,im such a fan i literaly have dante's coat and sword.
    my favorites go in order  like so : 4 , 3 ,1,2.
but bayonetta is just better in every way , there is no real competition because capcom pretty much left Devil may cry to die after 4 since they don't do good releases anymore ;c
and well bayonetta has just so much more diversity and amazing comboing in the combat that just comparing is actually kinda hard (depending which devil may cry you compare)
you can obviously notice that the amazing devs of devil may cry went to platinum and made an even better game then they did before.and i hope bayonetta 2 comes on pc in a couple of years or something ;D

attention: (generally speaking, not pointed to any1 in this thread)

all this talk about COD AW's res and fps when there's a perfectly well made PC version that does everything the COD gamer wants it to do. seriously, just buy the PC version and play it on the machine it was meant to be played on.

if the 8th gen consoles can't perform for certain games well enough it does not mean everyone gets to complain and rant and say "yeah but they should have done this..."

god... are people nowadays (generally speaking, not pointed to any1 in this thread) gamers or fanboys? i would have thought that if you were a gamer pure and simple, you would play it on the PC purely because it's the BEST version to play. nothing to do with hating on consoles. just because consoles can't do it good enough doesn't mean you have to blindly sit there defending your console purchase, get off your ass and play the game on the platform that has the best version.

dark souls notoriously sucked on the PC, but i didn't go "awwwww waaa waaa but dark souls is still better on PC because PC pwns all consoles", i just went to the shops and bought it again for my PS3 and had fun because i'm a gamer, not a frikin fanboy.

you don't NEED to play COD AW on any console, if you got a gaming PC... PLAY IT. there's no need to cry all day about why it runs badly on the consoles, that story is ancient news now. we get it. they put outdated hardware into brand new consoles. that ship has sailed!

im so fed up of people defending consoles or attacking consoles and they call themselves "real gamers?" garbage! if you were a gamer you would play a variety of games on a variety of machines - the machine should not matter what so ever, ONLY the game!

however, UNFORTUNATELY because of the lack of hardware choice in the 8th gen consoles with the exception of the wii U, most games look and perform a lot better on the PC. so as a gamer that wants the best experience i will simply PLAY on the PC. it's not a fanboy choice, it's a LOGICAL choice.

in 2006 when the PS3 came out, it was the best piece of gaming hardware for a while before PC games and PC graphics overtook. by that time i already had 10-20 games for the console, i wasn't just going to go "hey, fuck consoles because PC got better hardware now". i still played those games on the now inferior console in terms of hardware, and got an upgraded pc later on when i needed it for NEW games.

if i could live to see the day when fanboyism dies, my life would be complete. nothing else would matter. if i died 1 day later, i would be over the moon still because i got to see fanboyism END.

    Majora's Mask 3DS Spring 2015
Codename: S.T.E.A.M looks cool and will hit Spring 2015
Captain Toad is adorable, but Toadette shooting out of a pipe is the tops.
Xenoblade Chronicles X looks f***ing ridiculously good.
Splatoon has a single player campaign that tells the age old story of squid vs octopi.  Looked decently entertaining and seems to have variety.
    amiibo is still a thing
Mario Kart 8 DLC is still a thing
    Sonic Boom demos are coming
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse coming Feb. 2015
....and that's about it.  Fantastic Nintendo Direct.  Showed me cool games coming down the pipeline and had a great surprise to kick things off.  Just what I've come to expect from these Directs.

Well, my huckleberry friends this game was fantastic.  Aside from the Muspelheim being a cakewalk, in comparison to the first games, I can't really find anything to complain about.  I love it!  Bayonetta 2 is shaping up to be my GoTY and is probably gonna wind up in a bloody battle to the death with Smash Bros. Wii U for the title.  Time to start getting those bewitchments and crows.

Mewtwo confirmed as a bonus fighter for free download for those who buy both 3DS and Wii U versions and holy shit so much more.  Stage Builder, Classic mode is based on skill, more trophies, more music, coin battles coming back, 5,6,7, and 8 player smash, more maps and different maps, Temple makes it's return, a lot of modes are 2-4 player on Wii U, Smash tour which is a mini-board game type mode, and Tournaments.  It's just sooo much content.

well this month work has been really busy. im delivering around 100-130 packages a day 6 days a week and this time of year pay day pays out 5 weeks worth of money not 4... so... maybe just maybe, if i earn £1,500 or a little bit over, i will clear all the bills and debts and be at 0 on my bank account.

with xmas coming up and things getting busier i will then be able to afford to get the wii U and 1 or 2 games after ive been paid, hopefully. i still need to know however capnstubing if i need a wii remote and nunchuck for some wii U games, or if ALL wii u games no matter what, use the gamepad controller that comes with the console.

in other words, do i need those for only older wii games, or do some wii U games not actually work with the gamepad controller? cheers.

    3DS:
Atlus games.....If I talk about these I'll be here all day.....they're almost constantly on sale, btw, but they're all really good.  They're balls hard JRPGs and most of them have a little something to differentiate.  There are like 6 or 7 amazing JRPGs by Atlus on the 3DS, but if you're not into JRPGs which are heavily story and though focused then these aren't for you.

Obligatory shout out to the remakes of Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time.

Super Mario 3D Land is a really good, and solid platformer.  It has 9 worlds and one of the features many fans praise is the return of airships....and I think I speak for everyone else when I say 'Meh?'.  The game has really good level design and simplistic level design.  It is quite the marvel that 3D Land actually looks as good as it does on the 3DS.  Each level has 3 coins for you to collect and touching the top of the flag is also a goal for a 100% completionist.  The bonus levels, that unlock after beating the standard levels, unlock and they're....uninspired.  Rehashing the exact same levels and then implementing stipulations e.g. being chased by Shadow Mario.  It's a dull as dishwater way of trying to make a level more difficult and it doesn't really succeed.  It doesn't make the level more fun to play.(Pales in comparison to 3D world and, unlike Super Mario Land from the original Gameboy days, 3D Land doesn't differentiate itself enough to dodge the comparison.  Though technically it's 3D World that didn't differentiate itself from 3D Land, but suffice if to say 3D Land feels like a prototype build for 3D World.)

Mario Kart 7 which I played the first time almost side by side with Mario Kart 8........I like 8 more.  7 has it's own unique tracks and easily has the best retro courses to choose from.  The soundtrack is no slouch and I don't have trouble with finding people to play with online.  Getting 3 stars on each cup is just sooooo friggin' awful.  It isn't skill based, but rather it is luck based.  You have to hold first place for a majority of the race across each course, obtain 10 coins each race, and naturally win every course.........It is soooo 3DS Breakingly frustrating.

Kid Icarus:  Uprising is probably one of my favorite 3DS games.  It's a game which doesn't halt the gameplay with story bits and the story doesn't take itself too seriously.  The difficulty of the game is really customizable, by utilizing a difficulty slider, and the game is mission based.  The missions aren't particularly long and they're not too short.  You have a huge variety of enemies and weapons.  The weapons come in both melee and ranged.  The game feels less like a third person shooter and more like a 3D Brawler.  The Star Foxesque On-Rail gunner sections are also worth note.  The game's controls may give you a nasty case of claw hands.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is fantastic.  It's a turn-based, grid-based strategy game.  Awakening adds in a myriad of difficulty customization, but to do the game justice you have to play with perma-death on, at the very least.  The story is unobtrusive and really cool and the things I can't talk about, because spoilers is really well implemented.  The game takes out some things that irked me(WGT stat and 2 hitting change), but they streamlined some things that I hope become staples(the way affection works and Pair up).  The game has a good number of classes and allows the characters to be more customizable than others in the series.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate<see the above Wii U review, because the Wii U version is the same game>

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is the same as the Wii version minus some graphical fidelity and the waggle.  Adds in a new area which is about 7-9 levels I can't recall the exact number.

Obligatory Pokemon reference.  The primary additions are just streamlined gameplay of the classic Pokemon formula and Mega Evolutions.  Also it's in 3D now.
I won't talk your ear off about Pokemon now, because at this point I'm sure you know enough about the franchise.  (JRPG with zero emphasis on story)

Legend of Zelda:  A Link Between Worlds.  Again, I don't feel like I can sell you on Legend of Zelda, so I'll just say it's there and let you decide whether it interests you.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a solid addition to the New Mario series.  It has mostly good level design and is reasonably fun to play.  The game has the Coin Rush Mode that is decently fun as you try to get the 30,000 coin maximum.  (The DLC for the game are for Coin Rush and there are 3 separate sets....might be more now, but the noteworthy one is the 'Impossible DLC' pack.  It is really hard actually.)

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is another marvel of the 3DS.  The game offers so much content just for solo play alone.  I would even be willing to recommend purchasing this game just for it's solo gameplay potential.  The game has two solo play modes Classic and All-Star Mode.  The game has no story....at all....no hints at a story; nothing.  The various other modes like Home Run Contest always captivates me and the Target Blast is fun.  Doing the various challenges and getting all the trophies are as addicting as ever.  The downside is the online mode.  It's hit and miss and leads to frustration.  The controls for the 3DS version and the game's looks are both really good.

I didn't add on Mario Tennis and Mario Golf World Tour, because I didn't have much to say about them.  If you played a Mario Sports game and like them then I highly recommend them.  The only noteworthy 3DS games on the horizon right now that I recall off the top of my head are Persona Q, Xenoblade(New 3DS only), Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Codename S.T.E.A.M, so the 3DS certainly has a lot more games than the Wii U right now, but the 3DS game flood has reached a trickle.  Here is a list of the games [if you see a game you have questions about, and I own it, feel free to ask about it, because I didn't add every game I own onto the list] the 3DS has and it should be more indicative as to whether the 3DS is worth your money.

    Wii U:
For Starters you have Nintendo Land which is a party game/mini game collection and some of these mini games will get you stuck in them for hours.  Like the Donkey Kong Crash Course Mini game or the Legend of Zelda mini game.  The downside is that some of these mini games are multiplayer only, so you can't play them without another body, but the single player games are actually a lot of fun and are reminiscent of classic arcade style games.  (Meaning Easy to get into, few levels, and no story.)

Super Mario Bros. U goes without stating.  It is a simple pick up and play game with a very robust and indepth story.....The Koopa kids kidnap princess Peach with a cake....commence platforming for about 80 levels.  Standard Mario difficulty progression.  The challenge mode is a collection of challenges using some of the stages from the game that are, so f***ing hard.  Things like beat the stage without grabbing a single coin...........with the most nefarious and evil enemy and coin placements.  Laugh worthy frustration.  Also, gonna add Super Luigi U shout out here.  Same game, story, and harder levels, but Luigi is the main character.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has no story and the only goal is to kill monsters get loots and make better gear...fight harder monsters...get different loot...make better gear.....it's a process.  The story is essentially your own creation and if you put the game down in April and pick it up in August it won't even matter.  If you can get yourself a raiding party then you'll probably have more fun.  (The definitively better version when compared to the 3DS version)

Pikmin 3 much like most Nintendo oriented games doesn't shove a story in your face or bash you over the cranium with existential questions.  It's something of a survival game where you have to build up your pikmin while making sure you have the necessary food to keep Alph, Brittany, and Charlie alive.  At this point I had to go pick up my new glasses from my optometrist, so my train of thought on this game was sufficiently derailed, so I'll just move on and state it's a great game that puts emphasis on a survival mechanic and the game's actual story is fast paced and unobtrusive which is nice.  It's a very chill game despite a lot of multi-tasking which the game does try to ease you into.  Throwing Pikmin at enemies is as entertaining as it has ever been and the new Pikmin additions are nice and add to the game quite well.  I didn't move on at all, did I?  Also, shout out to the single player minigame from NintendoLand.  It's decent fun.

The Wonderful 101.......I can't talk this game up enough.  While it can be hard to see what's going on on-screen at times, because of the chaos and the controls can take a tad getting used to; I found this to be one of the most surprising experiences on the Wii U.  The story is bat-shit crazy and the characters are sufficiently over the top.    The story is funny and not to be taken seriously at all.  The combat revolves around using the game pad to draw a straight line, circle, right angle, wiggle line, zig zag line, and so on and so forth to give your character a weapon based on the symbol drawn.  These symbols can be drawn via the touch screen or right thumb stick and do take getting used to, but you'll get used to it over time.  Some of these weapons have other uses besides just swinging e.g. the Sword can absorb energy beams and the Fist can be imbued with fire to boost it's damage output.  There are plenty of hidden items and an element of retrying stages to get those Pure Platinums, but that can be a pain in this game, because restarting a stage to be a chore.  It's been a while, so I don't remember why specifically, but I do remember there being some reason I didn't enjoy stage restarting as much as in, say, Bayonetta.

Since Zelda games have been around for 30 years I'll just place it here, but I won't beat you to death with it.  By this point, you probably know what Zelda is and are probably best left to your own devices on it.  Suffice if to say, Wind Waker HD is one of my personal favorites in the series and if they deliver on what they've been hinting at with Zelda U then it will probably be my favorite game on the Wii U and has of all time potential, but that's just heresay bull crap right now.

Sonic Lost World ins't the best Sonic game by any means, but it's decent enough fun.  There isn't anything particularly awful about the game, but there isn't much to sing it's praises either.  You can really just say it's a bright, colorful Sonic game.    Some stages are great and other stages can be an exercise in frustration.  Not as well put together as a Nintendo or Retro Games platformer, bu I enjoyed it and I don't really identify as a Sonic fan, but then maybe that's why I don't recoil in disgust every time a new Sonic game comes out.  (Sonic Lost World for 3DS is fucking meh.  It's just not fun to play and is just bargain bin worthy.)

Super Mario 3D World is a game that I've praised so much already that I don't even think I need to bring it up anymore.  It's probably the best platformer I've played in years.  It takes the best element of Super Mario USA and combines it with Galaxy, Bros. 3, and World to make what is, IMO, the best platformer since Mario Galaxy.  Want gameplay specifics go ahead and ask me anything, because I could talk this game up for days.

Oh yeah!  Tropical Freeze.  An amazing game with fantastic level design, one of the best soundtracks this year, and, of course, the gameplay.  You play as DK, and sadly only DK, as you platform your way to defeat the Walrus.....I think the final boss was a Walrus....it's been a while since February and snow based creatures aren't my forte.  You do pick up DK barrels that let you pseudo play as other characters.  If you pick up a Dixie Barrel then Dixie rides on DKs back and adds a hover to his jumps for added safety, but your main char is still DK.  This game is hard.  You'll die...a lot.  That said I always had plenty of Red Balloons, so there wasn't much worry about losing all my lives, but that didn't make having to restart Platform Panic 40 times less frustrating or the final boss about 20 times.(might be exaggerating that number, but I remember being frustrated with the final boss.)  The level design is superb and I never felt cheated by the game in any way, but Retro certainly gave no fucks as to whether your 5 year old son/daughter could beat this game.  Also, the Time Trials are just......yeah....I couldn't do them, because I suck and they offer zero room for error.  Normal Human error mind you not Speed Runner error.(Story scenes are short and unobtrusive and not the least bit thought provoking.  Focus is placed on gameplay)

Mario Kart 8 is f***ing fantastic.  I hadn't played a Kart game since Double Dash, so jumping into this game for the first time since then was still friggin' easy despite that gap between plays.  The amount of unlockables in this game keeps you playing, the level of Kart customization keeps the game fun, fast, and simplistic, and the courses are just....so good.  The old school courses that return are great with an updated music track that sound fantastic and the new courses are just incredibly entertaining and fantastic.  The solo mode for Mario Kart in itself will suck up many hours of your life as you try to get that 3 star rating on each cup(4 tracks per cup) on each difficulty (50cc,100cc, and 150cc) and then Mirror Mode.  The online mode works flawlessly and is so much fun to play.  I have not personally had any issues with the online play.  The battle mode, much like in Mario Kart 7, is just a throw away.  (The DLC is probably some of the fairest and most robust ever put out there for purchase)

Hyrule Warriors is fun, but I'm a Dynasty Warriors fan, so my opinion is quite colored.  That said, Hyrule Warriors is senseless Hack and Slash fun and if all you do is play through Legend Mode then you won't get much out of it.  The real meat and potatoes is the Adventure Mode.  This mode sets you up in various scenarios that use the same map designs as you would find in Legend Mode, but they ramp up the difficulty a bit by adding stipulations.  Most areas on the adventure mode map have a reward for getting an A rank.  Early on these aren't too bad, but some of the later scenarios and some of the stipulations can be frustrating, but completing it is rewarding.  You also have medals that unlock when you complete a certain task.  Some of these are as easy to get as pissing and some of them can be quite challenging.

Bayonetta 2 is hitting store shelves on 10/24.  Haven't played it, but it's sitting at 91 on metacritic right now and the biggest complaint is that it's a sequel.  I've already payed in full for this game and just have to wait for release, so if you'd like more thoughts on it post release let me know.

Upcoming Titles include Smash for Wii U which is gonna be awesome let's be honest and probably better than the 3DS version and I don't care how presumptuous that sounds.  Captain Toad(2015 UK) has me really excited, because it seems like an utterly thoughtless puzzle game and looks even more beautiful than Mario 3D World.  Yoshi's Wooly World(2015) which I will leave my opinion out since Yoshi's New Island wasn't very good, but it's a different dev team, so I wouldn't expect similar things.  Kirby's Rainbow Curse(2015) which much like Wooly World we haven't seen much and we'll probably know more later.  Zelda U at some point which based on past history will probably be awesome, but we shall see.  New Starfox game which is set to come out next year and will hopefully retain some of it's on-rails elements.  Devil's Third is a third person/first person shooter that was supposed to come out 2014, but has been pushed back to 2015.  I've not seen much to formulate an opinion.

The Wii U purchase wouldn't be a stupid choice, but the number of games is limited, but we're getting to the point where the roster is getting padded in much the same way the 3DS did, so buying a Wii U now would probably not be a folly by any means.
I didn't include any Wii U exclusive indy titles or cross platforms, whether they be "NEXT GEN" only(ugh) or current gen.  I'll work on a 3DS List soon.

Before October ends I had to change my vote and stance of how I feel about this Plus line-up. I am not happy with this month.
This is the first month where I did not download a single game. Dust yes is a nice game, but It isn't something for me. This month I was looking forward to the Driveclub Plus Edition. But due to its delay and unseen future of that release it has left a bitter taste this month. I highly doubt it will be an October release. I don't hate this week (but seeing how its the only no option) I am disappointed. Mainly in the idea that the developers of Driveclub thought they would have a small launch. Numbers never lie.

Danganrompa 1, Danganrompa 2, Tales of Hearts R (if it makes the 2014 release), and Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines (not sure if it will make 2014). It has a lot of games that are only on the Vita and PS3 or PS4, some great games like Velocity 2X and Pix The Cat. It got a lot of great games that are only on the PC and Vita.

    He did say 2014.

As I'm sure some have figured out on their own in order to gain an A rank on standard Adventure Mode maps you require:
    1200 KOs
    Clear time of <15 mins
Taking 10 hearts or less (20-25 on later stages)

To obtain the second skulltula on an adventure mode map you're required to:
Get 1200 KOs without taking more than 4 hearts of damage

Getting Darunia's and Agitha's 3rd weapon is a pain in the ass, so don't get discouraged if it takes a few retries.
For getting A rank in the 'Kill 1000 enemies in 10 minutes' map(top left corner) I used Ganondorf and his YYYYYX
Often times killing the Moblins, Stalmasters, and Poes is more important than named characters who you can frequently skip, because lackeys can take them out fairly well over time.
Midna's YYXXX is probably her best and most reliable combo for everything: CC and Single Target
To get the 'Get 500 KOs with a single focus spirit medal' I highly recommend using the ability that boosts focus when killing enemies that is a 3,000 KO unlockable.
If you have trouble hearing the skulltula sound go into the options and turn the BGM all the way down.  It can be really helpful.

And people in the AJSA are not all gamers in the world. But this thread is a natural sample of the larger population.
It would be awesome to have game stores in Mexico selling used games for 5 dlls.
Last time I checked, they sell them for around 75% the new price tag, don't keep old titles and carry exclusively console titles (and I don't think FF13 was released for Wii).
I'll wait for it to go on sale at Steam or something like that.
On SqueeNix making a "better" FF.... well, it all depends on what is "better" in each person's books.
I still haven't found a FF game whose story and the appeal of the character's personalities compare to FF5 or 6.
4 was a dissapointment for the fake deaths.
8 dealt too much with Squall's "cool outside to hide insecurities" craziness, and didn't build up enough tension for me to hate "the bad guys".
9 seemed to be fine, but playing it in japanese didn't help with liking the story or finishing the first disk
Also, the feeling that most of the game is linear and that everything sidequesty is just for grinding xp and items is not high in my books either

Super Smash Bros. Wii U bundle comes with a GC controller and the adapter and will set you back $100.  Unless you're interested in the fancy box, the special GC controller, or don't own a GC controller then it is entirely not worth it.  $110 to buy everything separately and $100 for the bundle.  Not really too much value here if all you need is an adapter.

Persona 5, Bloodborne, Witcher 3, FF Type 0 HD (well mainly FFXV demo), and Batman AK will make 2015 one of the best years in gaming history for me.
