I just remembered a line from a movie. It was so terrible that It makes me groan in disgust. Have you ever heard a line from something that is so terrible you became angry at it?
Here's the line, from the movie Diana. A doctor in the movie said this.
"When you do a surgery, you don't perform the operation. The operation performs you."
Urgh. I feel like punching the guy who wrote that piece of shit line.
Then here's another very infamous line from Highlander 2.
"YES, Yes I remember. The beginning. 500 years ago, on the planet Zeist"
I never thought that a sentence like that can rape the entire lore of Highlander so badly in 1 second.

    Resident Evil 1:
    "Hope this not Chris's Blood!"
"You were almost a Jill Sandwich!"
    The Tekken Anime Movie
"Are you mad because your father threw you off that cliff?" No. Shit.
    Fast and Furious 5
    "Gimme my damn Veggies"
    Devil May Cry
Pretty much every single piece of dialogue but-
Devil May Cry 2 -  "You want to bea  king? Here's your crown! *Shoots the guy in the face* "
Devil May Cry 1 - "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIGHT!!"
Devil May Cray 3 - "This party's gettin' Crazeh!"
    Metal Gear Solid
"It's all made from currently existing technology." No fucking shit. What else is it supposed to be made from Imagination Tech?
Also just one thing about the Metal Gear Games they have the loudest guns. I don't mean when they are being fired- I mean just when people are holding them or moving them they never stop clacking- that shit sounds broken.
    All of Metroid Other M.
"baby baby baby baby baby baby, ignore suit powers, obey men, baby baby baby baby baby Oh big strong man save me!"

Anyone else as livid as I am about this game?
Firstly yes I am aware that Transformers are toys etc etc capitalism etc etc.
Secondly I bought this game - played 3 hours, then took it back to Game for a refund- I have NEVER done this for a game before.
And I have played some shit in my time.
But seriously after the excellent War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games - I thought there was finally a transformers Franchise that the fans could really get behind and root for- something untouched by the goddamn awful Michael Bay films.
Then we get this lazy, rushed, cash grabbing UGLY piece of shit which would be marginally okay if it was just a movie tie in - (It's what we expected) but the fact that they combine the movie universe with the Cybertron universe is the biggest betrayal of all.
After the awful Bay films we finally got a realisation of what made Transformers awesome- no humans an epic conflict and characters that felt unique and interesting. And now that's been thrown aside because fuck you - you like the movies because we say so. Go buy our shitty game.
But hell, what do I expect? I an now living in a world where anything unique and interesting I loved once is stripped down and sold for profit.
High Moon - I am disgusted with you I thought you were better than this- I had previously compared your games to the Arkham series in terms of your love for your franchise and respect for the fans - I can only hope and I mean really hope that this was something forced on you by the publisher and that the REAL next Transformers game is in the works.
To paraphrase Dr Zoidberg "The game is bad, and you should feel bad."

They're finally making the 1st Person Space Hulk game I always wanted.
    http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/06/27/space-hulk-deathwing-coming-to-ps4-next-year
It's called Space Hulk Deathwing and is not the same game as the recent Space Hulk Strategy game- despite what the article says at the end (Nobodies reviewed the PC version of Space Hulk: Deathwing it has not been released).
Fun note in the game manual for Space Hulk on the Sega Saturn they claimed that you were now part of the Elite Death Wing for the Blood Angels chapter. This is of course completely wrong.
How you can tell them apart: The space marines in the tactical Space Hulk game are Red as they are from the Blood Ange's Chapter. Space Marines from the Space Hulk Deathwing will be either Dark Green or White/Bone coloured as they are from the Dark Angels chapters. Only the Elite Deathwing Terminators and chapter commanders of the Dark Angels  get to wear the badass bone white awesomeness that is a Deathwing Terminator Armour.
    Suck it Blood Angels.

EDIT: 'In game' Trailer also available  Hmmmmmm: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-27-space-hulk-deathwing-in-game-trailer-shows-off-unreal-engine-4-visuals

Try doing what's written on that page. It might help. If it doesn't, try deleting the launcher completely and re-DL it off of the Wildstar site and try again. Nothing else comes to mind. |:

    @T:
This thread keeps on coming but oh well as long it's about music I'm fine with that.
Classic, soundtracks (movies and games), electro, EBM, classic rock, post-rock, singer song writer, stoner, heavy metal, death metal, melodic death metal, SID metal... if it sounds good I'll listen to it.

For criminal covoy you can get all 3 cars by just placing 3 Ieds on the road and blocking the path with a car.
If you like you can even do the 'walk away like a pimp as shit blows up behind you' thing.
In Multiplayer hacking do not start the hack until you are in a really good position the best positions are In buildings, in boats or best of all In a car next to a raised bridge.  Even better is if you are on the OTHER side of the bridge when you start the hack.
When you start a race use your nitro as soon as you can to put yourself out in fron, other players will then have to deal with traffic and hacks as you head out in front.

I'm glad you enjoyed it but really I couldn't disagree more.
I thought it was a massive betrayal of the fanbase.
They dumbed down an excellent Sci FI survival Horror action series into Gears of War then made it co-op because 'That's what the kids like'
They replaced genuine tension and fear with big sloppy monsters and eskimo zombies.
    Edit:
HOWEVER - never let someone not agreeing with you stop you sharing your love of a game - you're not wrong for liking something I don't like.

I have never heard so much tripe come from one persons mouth in my life. There's a good reason I stay out of these topics, but I'm going to jump in here. Do you have ANY idea what it's like to not get paid, to have your paycheck lowered, or to have problems taking care of your family because of people like you with the ideas you propose? No? I DO. I know what it's like to watch a company go bankrupt, I know what it's like to not get paid, and I know what it's like to watch friends literally have to leave the games industry because of people like you. Piracy doesn't hurt anyone you say? You are full of absolute nonsense.
  16. Gone too liked a post in a topic by Winnum in Battlefield Hardline is not worth it.
Yes that game no-one could possibly have played is definitely better than the games people currently play and enjoy. I have a dislike for EA and Activation's business ethics yes - but I'm not going to pretend that I hate every game that they make just because of a prejudice I have. I have played CoD games but still prefer Battlefield. I've said elsewhere that I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Hardline Beta - it does genuinely have a slightly different 'feel[' than BF4. Whether I would pay £40 for it I'm not so convinced.
Also UbiSoft have been just as guilty of pushing out a sub par product *cough* Assassins Creed 3 *cough* for the sake of a yearly release. I would genuinely hate to see UbiSoft get involved in this particular dog fight with Rainbow Six.

  21. Legolas_Katarn liked a post in a topic by Winnum in Can piracy be a answer to overhyped AAA games?
    My immediate reaction is no-
Firstly whether we like it or not an increase in Piracy would result in an increase in DRM as publishers try to ensure that people are paying for their games.
Secondly if it's a crap game why go to the bother of pirating it?
Thirdly if we are victims of over-hype then we have to operate a degree of personal responsibility. Publishers are always going to hype their games and push for the huge ads and demos.
What I think we need to do as a community is get our representatives like Angry Joe, Penny Arcade and the Games Media like IGN and Gamespot to ask pointed and difficult questions to developers and publishers.
Really simple ones like - "That E3 demo what was that running on?" or "Is this how the final game will look on Xbox/PS4/PC ?"
Of course the issue here is that Game sites in particular rely on those same publishers providing them advertising revenue. What we need frankly are more 'Guerilla' sites gaining support and asking tough questions to publishers about their products BEFORE RELEASE.
That said we should also look into making games publishers more accountable for their marketing - Aliens Colonial Marines is an example of false advertising if I ever saw one and SEGA and Gearbox should have provided refunds for every preorder.
If we want the industry to change then we the gamers need to change it by voting with our wallets and saying 'This is not good enough and we are not going to play your game' not 'Oh this game is okay I just don't fancy paying for it right now.'
Quick Edit: One of my favourite things from E3 last year was Joe asking Major Nelson genuinely tough questions about the Xbox One's DRM and Always on announcements. MN clearly hated this kind of honest questioning. More of this from everyone in games please.

  23. Winnum liked a post in a topic by Ysnar in Can piracy be a answer to overhyped AAA games?
I think the best answer to over-hyped AAA games is to not pre-order them or at best, not buy them.  I've heard that to a company like EA, Ubisoft et al, the first 1-2 weeks of sales is statistically the most important to them... its where wallets speak the loudest to such companies.  So if you're very hesitant to support a company's practices (like always online DRM), then just hold off on buying it for a while... play something else.  Come back a few weeks, after the server problems die down and patches have been applied.

I'm not commending video game piracy at all, but I'm attempting to explain some of the reasoning behind it... reasons can include:
    - Conveniance - some people might pirate it when it's not available in their region or when they deem DRM to be excessive
    - Price - some people might have reservations about the pricing (or they can't afford it), so they resort to this option
    - lulz - a number of people pirate for the hell of it, whether its available in their region or not and whether its a reasonable price or not

I think that with the advent of steam and digital distribution platforms, it has converted a good number of pirates to become legit customers once more, since they have a more convenient and direct method to obtain their games.  The pricing is good (and can be awesome, like in a couple of days :-3), distribution is fast and (most of the time) there's little to no DRM (<3 GOG)... nowadays, there isn't much of an incentive to go out of your way and risk the law just to get the same game that you can get for very cheap over steam, desura, gmg, gog and many other stores.

Also, with the advent and the subsequent expansion of indie gaming, piracy can be a somewhat significant threat to the future of some of these indie developers that self-publish.... if you want to feel their pain... just pirate game dev tycoon and see what happens :-3

This is wrong imo... game dev tycoon is an indie game for $7.99 on release date.  This is the usage stats on day 1:

At least the pirates where in for a shock:

    The irony... dem tears:

  25. Madman liked a post in a topic by Winnum in What is your favorite type of music?
I suppose you'd call it classic Metal - stuff like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie - but I also like stuff such as Nine Inch Nails, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium.
That's my favourite kind of music but I also like Punk and Rock- My actual favourite band is Alkaline Trio, but I love stuff like Foo Fighters, Editors, Prodigy and Muse.
Not big dance fan but like some stuff by Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy Slim.
Also Barenaked Ladies. And Bowie.  And Pink Floyd
I have pretty eclectic taste in music but Metal is where I tend to go first.
Side note Tears for Fears 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' is one of the best tracks ever made and the AC Unity intro mix is EPIC. Anyone know who does that?
