Vice city for me too. I liked the city layout the best. I also liked the buy new buildings to make wages for you and provide new missions thing. I never noticed anything wrong with the combat. Did you play it on a console instead of a pc?
I never could get into SA, something about the dusty atmosphere. freakin everything was brown, and I'm not talking about the people.

G2a is a crap company, and not because of loot boxes. I agree that loot boxes are lame but they are like the least of g2as problems.

Also I thin GMG is great but their loot boxes are shit. My sucker brother gets them all the time they are on sale and it gives you a list of popular games you MIGHT get from them. But nobody ever does. Instead you get no name games nobody has ever heard of that look stupid, and you check forums, and nearly everyone else gets the same shit pretty much.

I know, which is why I'm bishing. it's a golden age for cars, but a dark age for racing games which offers a PASSIBLE selection of semi-realistic cars.. even gran tourismo s port looks like it'll be shit in that regard, I hear its car selection is going to be very low because they are yet another game company who think they have w hat it takes to be some kind of 'e-sport', and are willing to shit on their existing fans to do it.
to clarify, I'm just being a whiney bish, I wont disagree. that said WHINIINNEEEE, BIIIISSHHHHH!!!. still not enough? *MORRREEEEE WHINIINEEEE AND BISSSSHHHHH!!!*.

Honestly, these last couple years are effing amazing for gaming, I feel spoiled...mostly, but when I feel like a racing game mood.... *BAWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!11111111111oneoneoneoneoneElevenElevenEleven!!1*

well back when they had those weekly, and 8 hourly flash deals during summer/winter, the deals often WERE better. But th en they got rid of that, and they said the deals would remain just as good as if you had waited for the flash deals, and that was true... for like 1 year. Now I can't help but notice they are pretty much the same as ordinary sales now.

I don't mind collecting all the party members in 2, that's fine in of itself. But I wish that you kinda had some adventures together for more than just like 1 mission after. Getting back to where you left off shouldn't even take half the game, much less 90% of it.

I apologize, I actually enjoyed Demon's souls before dark souls so I kinda intermingle the two, so when I read Demon's souls, I just instinctually thought dark souls which is the 'popular' way of referring to the whole series, and though you were griping about the whole series. Personally I don't think demon's souls was as bad as you make it out to be (dark souls and Diablo 3 were the 2 and only games I day one midnight release got because I loved diablo, and dark...fuck... demon's souls sold me so much).

I can respect if someone doesn't like the game, or the series, but to flat out say it's not a challenging game that is fun when it so clearly is a successful series. Yeah, I wont agree to it ever. Frankly I'm not convinced I have the wrong opinion even if yours is specific to demon's souls either, but I can't be certain either, so eh. I mean I have no interest in star wars, and it seems juvinille to me, but I wouldn't say it isn't entertaining, that it only panders to people who are still mentally in grade 2 or something.... not only wouldn't I say it, but I don't even think it.

back to difficulty though, I think people misunderstood my point. You folks seem to be arguing that by having the 'cheap' difficulty adjustment systems, the other ones you guys prefer cannot exist. I specifically mentioned why not both. Honestly, I think game devs resort to the 'cheap' ones because they can't be bothered to implement the m ore work-intensive ones either because of budget, time, management, or maybe they just DGAF. But if they have the time to implement the 'better' options, why stop implementing the quick easy and 'cheap' one too when it's so easy and fast? Some people can enjoy it. I mean one example I can think of is Zelda and the minish cap. I really didn't enjoy it because it was *WAY* too easy, and one of the reasons why it was was because enemies hit like wet noodles... no joke, even bosses  would hit for like a QUARTER of a heart. I did an experiment, and I was able to slay many of the bosses making absolutely no effort whatsoever to dodge any of their attacks, but would just  stand in front of them swinging (after doing necessary things to expose their weak points or whatever...while not bothering to dodge attacks too btw), and alot of the time they were owned. I particularly thought that 2nd fire dragon boss thing was a cool concept, but the amount of damage it put out just plain was not enough.

You  can argue what is good difficulty and what is bad all you like, but at the end of it, nobody has ever addressed why simply having the option available to the player to adjust it to their liking is bad.

Alternative means of adjustable difficulty are always cool, but I think 'cheap number changing' is flat out  foolish to NOT utilize as well. If you don't like harder modes that only adjust numbers, protip: don't play them. Some people DO enjoy them. I don't know why armchair game designers have to trash something that's optional AND takes almost no time to develop to boot. Making new AI and readjusting the level design, that DOES take time, but slapping a *1.2 on things takes all of one minute.
Sometimes having some extra hp on enemies actually changes the dynamic completely, because many times players get a build or something that allows them to 1 shot or 1 combo enemies, and it's not really a fight but just kind of a speedbumb as they cruise thru a stage, one that doesn't even fight, but just kinda makes them stop running and mash attack 1-3 times and proceed running with absolutely no regard for retaliation or whatever. But if they can survive that initial hit, then all of a sudden you have to worry about their attack range and speed and all that jazz.
Honestly I think the people who complain about such mechanics are just bad and wont admit it to themselves. Take rpgs for example, you can say that having enmies with higher stats doesn't change how you play, it just needs more grinding. This is in fact the lazy way of thinking. Do you strive to beat content leveling/grinding as little as possible? If you fail at a boss or hard part, do you assume 'I need to grind more'? I ask this because I've seen hundreds if not thousands of times where players whine that a game needs grinding too much because they got game-over'd at a certain part and I find that th eir level is in fact much higher than needed or whatever. They just don't want to bother learning to better themselves or the mechanics, blame the game.
Saying Souls isn't a challenge but a test in insanity is bullshit. I'm not saying this as a souls fanboy, but as a human telling another human, who the hell made you the supreme judge of what's challenging and fun and something maddening. Whenever you say things like that, it just makes it look like your patience and respectfulness is shit. I mean if you don't like it, that's fine, but to actually state that something is NOT what people say they like about it, and that it's actually ____.

Anyway, back on difficulty. I've been asking for it for years, and I'm actually seeing a few games actually do it. But I would like to see difficulty be player-adjustable beyond easy/medium/hard... But have sliders for all of the variable stats, so that they can adjust it as they see fit to their own personal liking. Maybe they think the game is too easy but the enemies are also a bit bullet spongy, well they can up everything a bit and maybe nerf the enemy hp. Now I'm not saying the alternative means of difficulty that couldn't be adjusted by a simple slider need to go, no they're cool too. But honestly, why not both? don't say development time, adding sliders to variables is piss easy, trust me, I HAVE done programming. Yes it can't be done to some games as mods because they hard-coded numbers sometimes, I have no freakin' idea why game devs hardcode numbers in their games, seriously. Short sighted as hell. But provided they just take the decision to not do that from the start, it wont really increase development time.
  11. LiquidArea liked a post in a topic by Ghaleon in Microtransactions in "The Division"
100% cosmetic microtransactions doesn't bother me. I don't know why they always cause a fuss... Some people claim that getting away with that will lead devs into getting the ok to charge for non-cosmetic microtransactions. Frankly I think this argument is bull because some devs DO have non cosmetic micro transactions already, and alot of the time they didn't 'test the waters' with cosmetic ones first. It's just a yes/no situation, and people should judge the individual examples rather th an some theoretical slippery slope that we've already seen the lower part of to begin with.

Some may also argue you shouldn't have to pay for something that's installed on your computer. That's a better argument, and it's valid for a single player game. But in a multiplayer one, you kinda need to have it installed in order for you to see those outfits purchased by other players. Though even then I would think it wise to make sure the amount of space they take up is not significant.

2016 was an amazing year in gaming for me. But your quote isn't as solid as you would think. Joe mentioned in that very video that he deliberately tried to AVOID the bad games this year, while in previous years he intentionally played them too.  So it's kind of no wonder that this years' bad games don't seem to be as bad according to him.

It's not a game's fault if you act aggressive after playing it because it frustrated you. There is a name that kind of fits these kinds of people. They're called sore losers. It happens in all kinds of things, not just video games. They lose a game of some team sport and they yell or hit something. They lose their bets on a horse race and they storm off in a huff while tearing up their ticket and tossing it somewhere rather than disposing of it properly. Likewise, people who can't handle difficulty in a game are the problem. It's not about aspyrgers or whatever, it's simply that sore loser mentality.

I don't really care if you like TB or not, I mean I only watch like 3% of his videos myself, but BF1 was in fact one of them because I've been asking for a WW1 game for over 20 years...

That said TB's review says he's ONLY reviewing the single player campaign right in the darn title! So complaining that he barely spent any time on mp and he's biased because of it is just silly. I don't know if his complaints about the campaign are true or not because I haven't played them, but you yourself haven't actually denied his claims that you feel near invincible compared to the waves of grunts you face or whatever. I can't remember if he said it was all like that after the first stage, or just that power armor stage.

That said even in multiplayer, I can't help but feel a bit bummed that there STILL isn't a high budget ww1 fps game that's a LITTLE more faithful to the technology used in the war. Every video I see shows  people using automatic weapons, which I found Joe's video to parody well at the beginning even though I don't think OJ's first two guns were even in the game.

I think Joe's reviews are pretty good at telling me what the game is about, how it plays, and why or why I wouldn't like it... I ignore the stupid ass score and badass seal of approval thing. Those mean @%@#% to me. If people listen to critics reasons/arguments/descriptions, and don't focus on the score, it should be pretty obvious  what is trustworthy or not.... Just listen to what they say exactly and don't put words in their mouths. If Joe says omgwtfbbq it crashed for me 8 times.. don't think he's saying DIS GAME CRASHES NON STOP FOR EVERYONE, and think he's lying if it works for someone else... If he says though 'I go online and I see many people complaining about the same issues and the devs on the forums say screw you', then you can interpret it the dramatic way.

I play indie games moreso than AAA games these days, so the number of games I own that Joe actually has reviews for is pretty few. But so far I've not noticed any situations where something he said is bull.

  19. Apex Spartan liked a post in a topic by Ghaleon in Game still in Early Acess - Gets a paid DLC before full release.
Too many gamers treat beta tests simply as a means to play a game early as a teaser of sorts... without a care in the world of actually finding bugs. I mean if they find a bug, they often don't go thru the bother of reporting them, much less attempting to replicate them first.
This whole pay to 'get to play the beta' thing only encourages gamers to treat the beta as a teaser rather than an actual process to improve the game.
I'm not talking about stress-test betas either, that's understandable to treat it simply as a game to enjoy, but when they release non-mmo beta's. blech.

I think I said it elsewhere, not here. But I find it ironic that developers use pcs to run cosole games when showing them off at e3 and such (like at a sony or xbox show if you lift the table curtain you see a pc running the game not a console). But after launch, all of a sudden the consoles run it but not pcs.

I don't even play destiny on the ps3 or ecksbawkss, but I'm pissed at bungie for this... why? Because all along, from day 1, I thought to myself wtf kinda company makes an FPS game for BOTH 'modern' playstations and xboxes, but NOT PC... when they have NO recent experience making games on anything but the xbox360. Then they said they 'wanted' (bullshit) to make it on pc, but simply couldn't at that time because they already had too many platforms being developed on simultaneously, which is exactly what It thought they were doing all along (but left out pc. ugh).
Now they're dumping 2 of those platforms the first expansion after the one that most people feel 'saved' the game, and still nothing about a pc release. gg Bungie.

cultural appropriation is so damn idiotic, disgusting and juvinille. Every time someone complains about something someone 'culturally appropriating' from them, I bet your ass that said object being 'appropriated' FROM utilizes technology or technique FROM said party they are complaining is appropriating.

For example, I once saw someone complain that R&B music was for black people and other people can't listen to it without being racist because of cultural appropriation. But R&B music often has an electric bass guitar, a microphone, maybe even a bar or auditorium. But nobody bans R&B music for appropriating THOSE things to make that music. How about the materials used to make things? Who invented plastic? who invented electricity? etc. Geeze @#%@%#.

One of them made it so weapons feel like they ahve 'more weight'. That's kind of part of the problem. It's like the game was designed around weapons having no weight from the ground up.. I mean just the fact you can be swinging a big hammer and instantly stop mid swing and block instead just kinda shows it.
Finishers don't bother me actually, I just brought that up because it seems to be a feature many of the combat mods I've seen tend to advertise.
I realize what I want is something that probably can't be done with mods, which is exactly what I hope a new game with a completely new engine might deliver, because I wouldn't expect any modder to, even though I know they do great work.
