Don't forget Yoshi Wooly World, Kirby Rainbow Curse, and splatoon.

I'm hoping E3 will show us some more stuff though, especially for 3DS. I mean we have Monster Hunter 4 and Majoras Mask but I think we need a little more than that.

Sounds good to me as long as it's not subscription based, though if they did have subscription I should hope they up the quality of their rewards.

Completely agreed, though I don't know if this is the right forum to request this.

if I buy a car, I own it. I can keep it, resell it, destroy it, run it into the ground, whatever I want with it. It's my car. Likewise, if I resell it, someone else can buy it, and do the exact same things that I could.

Now just replace "car" with "game" and you end up describing any consumer based market. That's how every industry runs. It's the standard. Toyota might've sunk billions of dollars into designing that car, but someone else already bought it new and is willing to sell it. Who is Toyota to demand a cut from what they've already been paid for?

Piracy is the opposite extreme. I magically materialized a car for nothing. Paid nobody anything. It's brand new, no wear or tear, no issues, no downsides a used car would have. It's an exact replica of the real car made by Toyota, without paying the proper dues for the new car the law demands.

It may be effectively the same for Toyota, but the fact of the matter is that after the first sale of a new car, the car no longer belongs to them, it belongs to whoever bought it. They aren't buying the rights to own the car, they're buying the car.  It's how every consumer-based market works.

Now personally, I don't buy recent used games. If I wanted the game that badly I would've bought it new. I like the idea of buying a disk that is 100% new, ready to go, and if it stops working down the road, it's my fault, not some other guy who dropped it on sand 2 years ago. The used games I usually buy are the ones that are out of circulation, or games I have a passing interest in but don't feel it's worth the full price. But it's usually just because I can't get it new anymore at all.

I don't see any problem with used games is what i'm saying. This is the system we use, and the companies know the risks. It's the best balance between compensation for a good product and comsumer rights.

I also think it's funny, because Nintendo recently spoke about their view of used games, saying that if you don't want your games resold, you should make better games in the first place. A lot of Nintendo titles actually go UP in price once they stop producing them, because the games are so fun that few people are willing to resell them, and as the existing copies gradually degrade and the games good reputation is spread, demand outnumbers supply. For games that are over a decade old, that's a good thing for developers to see for their game.

I swear if Gamecube games come to the e-shop my wallet will implode. First on the list should be Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, and if they can manage it, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.
  7. Apex Spartan liked a post in a topic by McKnackus in I'm Boycott all Ubisoft games, you with me?
okay let's all be fair here, just because a game doesn't have the best graphics doesn't make them bad. Yes, it was bad of Ubi to do that, but they were trying to sell the game and if their claim that there were performance/gameplay issues with the higher graphics settings are true then I actually think it was brave of them to choose gameplay and performance over raw graphical fidelity. I guess ideally they would've just delayed the game to set things right but as it is, Watch Dogs still looks and plays great.

I would have more of a problem if the gameplay they showed lied about how the game was actually played, but that stayed true throughout and I doubt they'd do that with the Division Either.

Now I'm not saying you shouldn't boycott them or whatever you or the OP want to do. It's you're choice and maybe you're skeptical of Ubi's WatchDogs story. I'm just saying, it seems like an odd thing to hold a grudge over to me, certainly not boycott worthy if they're still producing solid work.

Now when they do something that actually messes with the ability to play a game, like adding worthless DRM or releasing outright broken games (COUGH EA COUGH) then that sounds more boycott worthy.
  8. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by McKnackus in The Sims 4 will not have pools or toddlers at launch date. Are you kidding me?
I guess the pool engine is just that complex. Maybe it'll have special mechanics in pool areas where guys can suddenly become superattracted to women or become embarrased that their trunks fell off in the pool. The water must be hyperrealistic and there's a minigame where you have to tap rapidly to do the perfect cannonball. Toddlers also mean modeling pregnant women and their unique animations, besides the toddlers themselves, and...

...Hey EA, maybe you should just, oh I dunno, delay the game? Sounds like it's not finished.

Oh wait, you don't want to do that, you'll miss the holiday season where you'll sell the game with exclusive preorder content INSTEAD of pools and toddlers.

Rev3games actually got hands-on time with it.

They've also answered some questions in the comments.

There's  ton of potential with this. As a huge fan of both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, I have high hopes for this game. I honestly haven't played any Platinum Games titles, but I have heard great things from all their action games so this seems right up their alley. The fact that it's also being co-written by the series writer of the original TLA and Season 2 of Korra also means the story should be great. It is worth noting that this is a smaller project that's meant as a $15 digital only game, so this isn't a big budget epic. But even if it's gonna be short, I want it to be the best game it can be, and if it sells well, maybe we'll get a full sequel.
  11. SirSeaBiscuit liked a post in a topic by McKnackus in What Would You Get?
I own a 3DS and a WiiU and I've found the 3DS to have more value, simply because the library is so robust right now and has AAA titles in nearly every genre imaginable. If you're getting a 3DS, you'd do yourself a disservice if you don't get an XL, which has a far better screen than the standard 3DS. Sure it's harder to fit into a pocket but honestly it's more than worth it. That said, WiiU also has some stellar titles, most of which I own, but can't enjoy to their fullest because I don't have any WiiU Pro controllers yet and they're expensive.

I'll say this, if you liked a lot of the late Wii titles, the WiiU is a pretty safe bet. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze takes after DKCR really well, Super Mario 3D World is pretty neat (though not as good as Galaxy IMO), Mario Kart is as solid as it's ever been, and Xenoblade Chronicles, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros, Zelda, and Star Fox will inevitably put the WiiU on the map, not to mention the gamecube controller support, which, assuming more than just Smash Bros supports them, will finally remedy the WiiU's biggest flaw.

If you're a Nintendo fan, you're going to love either one, so I feel like you'll be happy with either one. The question I think you should ask yourself is: Do I prefer handheld games or console games? Did you play your DS more than your Wii last gen? How about the GBA VS the Gamecube? Do you prefer playing on a big screen with sweet HD graphics or are you fine with sub-gamecube graphics on a small screen? Analyze your play style. I think you'll find your answer.

Awesome! Another excuse to post Mickey Mania's Disney-tastic soundtrack!

Unfortunately some of the best songs have disappeared off Youtube for some reason. Maybe someone deleted their account. What a shame.

It is worth noting that the game was also on Sega CD and had better quality music, but I dunno, I like the instruments used in the SNES version, and it's just so nostalgic to me.
