  8. Seirex liked a post in a topic by FakeAvus in [SOLVED] Upgrade to Windows 10?
I upgraded all my computers to Windows 10 long ago... The best way to do it... - CLEAN installation. Latest Windows 10 ISO/media creation tools accept Windows 7/8/8.1 product keys for activation. So you don't have have upgrade on top of your Win7/8 to activate and then perform clean install again.
Many people are having problem after Win10 upgrade are because:
    - Their previous OSes were already fxxked. Windows upgrade IS NOT Windows fixing. You will be LUCKY if your old Windows problems are gone after upgrade but don't bet on that. Most users never admit they fxxkup their own computers... Blame MS is the easiest way.
    - incompatible software. These should apply to those old ass software or some "custom made" software. But most people here are talking about gaming computer and that should not be a problem. Also, Windows 10 (like Win7/8) supports "compatibility mode"... google this.
    - incompatible hardware. This should be the only reason people should be careful before upgrade. But Windows 10 upgrade tools should told you if your system hardware are good or not. From my experience, (old) video card/GPU having the most upgrade issues. Windows 10 "cut off" a lot of older GPUs. But again, in here - a PC gaming forum, this should not be a problem. I don't think many PC gamer are/should using a very old computer/GPU for PC gaming...

And for those who scare about MS are "sniffing" around with Windows 10 (telemetry and data collection), BTW, MS was doing that long ago even with Win7/8. So this is not really a valid reason not to upgrade Windows 10.  And yes MS is doing (and will do) more than ever, but so do Apple, Google, Steam... You are living in 2016 not 1996 anymore. It is a connected world, deal with it.
There is also a tool to cut off some of the MS telemetry and data collection...
    Spybot Anti-Beacon
    https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/

Windows 10 has lots of those should be blocked... like WiFi Sense, P2P Windows updates outside local network... It will also prevent MS update re-enable some of the services you blocked. But I would still run this program to make sure once a while. There are more "sniffing" services in the optional tab, but I didn't block all because I use some of them.

Don't put too much attention on the system requirement. I always think that areas called "System Requirement" on the retail box and website are more like a "marketing area" for Intel, AMD, Nvidia and in this case MS (show the cost advantage for gaming on Xbox One). Remember many game developers have deep connection with Intel, AMD and Nvidia. Do you think these companies really they like to see you can play the latest game with their old model (mean no upgrade) or slower models (mean cheaper) components.
There is no AMD equivalent. What kind of suggestion is that?
    Another example:

Are you really that dumb to believe an AMD FX-8350 is equal to an Intel Core i7? This AMD CPU won't even perform better than an Intel Core i5-2550K (yea a 2nd gen Core i5) in most gaming benchmark. So who benefit the most by putting an Intel Core i7-3770 as a recommended CPU? (developer? Intel? or the user?) I can show you countless examples of these 2 CPUs are always put together as recommended CPU.

Are you really believe this sh!t joke? People really based on these so called "System Requirement" to build their gaming system should better stick with gaming on console. No wonder some console players really believe gaming on PC need to upgrade every 2 years...
Stop trusting the System Requirement. Just wait for 3rd party websites (Tomshardware, Anandtech...) and benchmark the game with different PC components.

Windows 10 has a Xbox app (called "Xbox" duh) to connect xbox account and xbox live features. MS Store (app name) has no xbox function. It is just an MS Online store that MS desperately want people to use because they are 12 year too late into their own platform.  There is a reason why for the last 12 years, MS Windows users have to buy games online from a game developer (Valve - Steam) and have to buy digital media from a NON-PC HARDWARE MANUFACTURER (Apple - itunes). Microsoft, the world biggest SOFTWARE developer should be always embarrassed by that.  What was MS do for the last 12 years? One word, Xbox.

Need for Speed (one) - no underground shit, no hip-pop shit, no Monster Energy drink shit... Team up with some auto magazine (or website for nowadays) like Road & Track, Car and Driver, Top Gear, EVO. Chris Harris.... and "faithfully" replicate some exotic roads around the world like Highway 1 (California), Tails of the Dragon (Tennessee), Stelvio Pass (Italy), Transfagarason Highway... Many legendary cars from European, American and Asian auto manufacturers with believable to good driving physics and great net code (it is 2016 and this is a no excuse requirement) for multiplayer.
Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed - EA had been a waste of "exclusive" Porsche license since after the NFS: Porsche Unleashed in 2000. Fxxking EA and the stupid retard Porsche is the reason why we don't see any Porsche in other great racing titles like Gran Turismo, Project CARS, Assetto Corsa... for the last 15 years...
Star Wars X-Wing vs Tie Fighters: Not that stupid retard shit in Star Wars Battlefront.
The original Syndicate and Syndicate Wars: Not that BS FPS game released in 2012

My favorite BF series end at BF2142. They should remake that one but probably won't because of Titanfall. I also liked BF2 because of the mod support. (project reality was born from here?) I have ZERO interest into BF3 and after because no mod support and I have to pay for those overpriced DLC. And once the next BF game is out, nobody will play the previous one because of it.

Remember a Sandra Bullock movie called "Gravity"? This game is almost exactly like that. Try to survive in a heavily damaged space station and figure how to repair it and escape. The creator of this game claims it is his own idea. Here is an interview if you want to know more about him...

As a multiplayer only game, this game's multiplayer part is really suck
Random disconnect in PvP: this is probably caused by server high ping auto kick from ping spike. This game has some unusual high ping.

Host rage quit: People are very impatient nowadays. If the host died very early, he/she will probably quit and the game is gone. This is the "beauty" of a game that not fxxking support dedicated servers. In 2015 there are still AAA game host MP like this....wtf.. even indie shooter support dedicated host/server

People rush: Most people play BF, CoD like that and they just do the same thing here...

TK at start then quit: A$$hole everywhere. Again, as a MP only game, admin/vote option is almost non-existence.

    1) Dirt Rally - finally (waited for more than a decade!) a very very good rally game that can really succeed the rally game legends like Richard Burns Rally (2004). This game doesn't get enough coverage mainly because it is for PC only.
    2) Witcher 3 - bigger, better, nicer in every way... something that even Fallout 4 cannot be said...
    3) GTA 5 for PC - it is a great shooter, arcade racer (a lot better than many full price arcade racer), online multiplayer, story adventure, sand box, mod support... It really packed lots of value... opposite of Star Wars Battlefront eye candy tech demo...
