Oh man I might make a few trips back here for my other ideas

    The Thing
    - Reboot/continuation of the one back in 2002.
    Story
    - A military unit is sent to investigate outpost 31. Finding nothing but "bits and pieces" they investigate the Norwegian base and make first encounter with the thing. After initial contact they opt to head back to base after evac but are sent to investigate an SOS from a soviet base and other locations (based on the concept work from the cancelled sequel to the 2002 game) leading to more chaos and tension.
    - Setting should be about 1980's?
    Gameplay
    - 3rd person shooter
    - Survival Horror
    - up to 4 player coop throughout the entire game
    - Little Things can be killed by regular means
    - Large Things need to have health drained and only fire/explosives can truly kill them. Bullets can help drain health and slow them down
    - NPC have the trust system implemented and the fear system from the old game
    - NPC's may be the thing when found or may become a thing through infection (all random/procedural)
    - Friendly fire is always on
    - Class system from the original
    - Destructible environments for both player and Things, meaning no where is entirely safe
    - Small customization for character (heads, body, headgear)
    Trust/Fear system
    - NPC's may not initially trust the player fully so trust must be earned (proving not infected, give weapons, healing, etc) but it may also be lost (friendly fire/taking away weapons)
    - NPC's can be nervous and scared in scenarios (hearing scary noises, teammates dying, being overrun, gruesome scenes)
    - NPC's will become dangerously unpredictable if they succumb to fear/mistrust (suicide, running away, vomiting, or even becoming hostile)
    Co-op
    - up to 4 players together can complete the campaign
    - Party chats are disabled on consoles and proximity chat system is implemented to increase tension
    - Any other players (besides player 1) can become infected and turn into a Thing, therefore becoming hostile.
    - Players 2-4 will be one of games classes
    - Available slots in a squad can be filled with found NPC's
    - Player 1 dies then restart back at a checkpoint
    - If NPC's are found during a game and other players are dead, then they may assume the identity of said NPC
    Being a Thing
    - In coop other players may be infected or outright stealth killed by a Thing, resulting in assimilation
    - A Thing has a few forms to pick from that have various skills and strengths
    - An infected player may turn into a Thing whenever they wish to, but be mindful doing in front of 3 other players is not a very good idea.
    - While infected a player will still act like a player and be treated as one. Don't expect other Things to not attack you
    - When health is depleted a player will force change into a Thing, exception is if killed by fire or explosions.
    - When exposed from a blood test a player will force change
    - When reaching near the end of a level any infected players will force change
    - If a infect player is alone with a human player they may attempt to stealth kill the human player which causes an assimilation
    - Stealth killing will not result in a forced change
    - Stealth kills take a little bit of time so if others are in ear shot they can rescue that player, leaving you exposed
    Classes
    - Leader: Player 1/single player class. Has no penalties to accuracy with weapons. Can heal other people and self up to 75% health. Can repair basic junction boxes
    - Soldier: Has increased accuracy with weapons even while standing and moving. Can carry more ammo. Cannot heal other people. Can heal self up to 50%. Cannot repair any junction boxes.
    - Medic: Has a penalty to accuracy with weapons. Carries less ammo than others. Can heal other people up to 100% health. Can only heal self up to 75%. Unlimited medkits. Cannot repair any junction boxes
-Engineer: Has a small penalty to accuracy with weapons. Cannot heal other people. Can heal self up to 25% health. Can repair basic and advanced junction boxes
    Escape
    - A coop/versus game mode with 6 players
    - Goal is to escape from the given map with as many people as possible
    - Each map will have several different variations that are chosen at random
    - Enemy types and number are random
    - Anywhere between 0-3 players are infected right off the bat. But no ones knows but those infected
    - NPC's may be found
    - Leader class isn't restricted to just player 1 anymore
    - If an infected player escapes with the human players than if results in a loss and everyone dies in a gruesome fashion
    - More than one way to escape, some routes will just take longer
    - A custom mode (with no matchmaking) is available with the ability to tweak some of the things mentioned above

Not even glorified, their just pricks.

Microsoft might as well just be honest though, it they cant get 1080p/60fps then I'm honestly not bothered.  If the Witcher 3 is a kick ass game a 1080p/60fps then it's still a kick ass game at 900p/30fps or whatever it turns out to be.  Both company's and gamers place WAY to much importance on this.

Ah the good old "look at all these pretty graphics and cool things going in a trailer but none of it is gameplay". Judgment shall be made when the game actually shows itself. More people are growing more sensible (more not all unfortunately..) and are not being fooled by pre rendered shenanigans anymore.

I only read them for the sheer lolz and stupidity but rarely ever reply. Trolling has become and is a thing. Now it is an all time high, they just come out of their bridges with their fishing poles, cast out and then wait.
  11. 1neclip liked a post in a topic by SIR BIGGLES 520 in Will you get bf hardline?
I am not. Burned by BF4 and the disdain I feel for EA. Thought about getting it for review but that latter thing stopped me. On the more technical side of things I didn't like the gameplay. I could do a more urban battlefield without tanks or heavy air support. But the severe lack of destruction really irritated me and it allows for the campers to be ever present. Which of course I still see them trying to be more like COD than trying to be BF.

One regret tho is the campaign looked somewhat interesting and the reworking of the freeze option makes me happy because the E3 demo showing it was laughable

  13. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by SIR BIGGLES 520 in Is everyone considered Hardcore now?
What I was taught back at a gaming development class was this.

    1. Casual gamer: Buys mainly bigger known titles and even then, not all of them. Plays the least out of the three categories but is the biggest market share. Knows the least about games.

    2. Core gamer: Buys and plays more than the casual gamer. Has more knowledge than the casual regarding games and usually informs them of lesser known titles. The number of core gamers is decent but their size is still dwarfed by the casual gamer

    3. Hardcore gamer: Plays a lot of games and has a lot of knowledge about games, sometimes restricted to one genre. The smallest of the three in size.

This of course applies to the broad spectrum of the term gamer. If someone plays a lot of (insert game title/franchise) than that person would be a hardcore (said title/franchise) player but not hardcore "gamer" if that's all they play. That would make them fall under casual gamer or possibly core gamer.
  14. SIR BIGGLES 520 liked a post in a topic by Mr_E_Meatshield in "PCMR" vs political correctness.
If someone just uses it as a joke between PC Gamers, then there's no problem. It's when someone uses it unironically and starts acting all High-and-Mighty and talks down on everyone who doesn't play on PC where things go wrong.

Take Scumbag Steve vs Good Guy Greg:

    Where as Good Guy Greg

    Games on pc
doesn't give people sh*t about what platform they play on
(I didn't make these, found them on Google)

It's alright to love gaming on PC, or even say that it's the best platform to game on, it usually is depending on the hardware you have. But don't for a second think that excuses you from being an asshole to everyone else who doesn't share that view.

It's also funny that whenever someone says that they don't like the "PC Master Race" term that they're "Butthurt console gamers". Because, hey everyone who plays on PC is down with the whole "Master Race" bit riiight? Standing up to PC Elitists is more akin to standing up to bullies.

I love playing on the PC (laptop) and this thing can play games better than the PS4, but I'm not going to be spouting "PC Master Race" any time soon. I don't want to be associated with the PC Elitists (not that everyone who uses the term is one) who use it.

The PC Gamer article misses what's wrong with the term by saying that it's because of the Nazi Connotation. Even though there are parallels between the "PC Master Race" term and the "Master Race" idea, the term in itself isn't the problem.

Now before someone says "BS, what parallels?" The "Master Race" was co-opted by the Nazi party from the term "Übermensch", the same way the PC Gamers and PC Elitists co-opted the joke to fit them. As with the "Master Race" and the Nazis who thought they were above everyone else, the PC Elitists who use the term look down on everyone who doesn't play on PC, hence the terms like "Filthy Console Peasant" and such. It is this attitude that is what's wrong with using the term. It was this sort of attitude that turned people off of PC gaming as well.

I identify myself as simply a Gamer, not PC Gamer, or Console Gamer. I play on whatever system I wish as long as they have games that interest me. I have no need for these "Master Race" or "Fanboy" in this hobby, and it is unfortunate that this sort of toxic attitude is often applauded and encouraged (more specifically the "Master Race" by PC Elitists).

What needs to be done is to call out these "PC Elitists" for being assholes, and not treat them like they aren't doing anything wrong. You can state facts all you want, but don't be a dick and treat anyone like crap because of it. Doing so isn't about being offended or not, we're not supposed to be ok with assholes anyway. There really isn't any reason to tolerate these individuals.

    ---
Just so that I'm clear, I'm making a distinction between PC Gamer and PC Elitist. Not all PC Gamers have elitist attitudes when it comes to gaming.

Handing off your main titles to new developers (giving a hard look at you GOW judgement) (also ESO) seriously I fail to see the logic in such a move
Always online/multiplayer only games. No.. just no
Not acknowledging my arsenal in game/cutscene. I have either one or a combination of handguns, shotguns, assault rifles and in some bad cases explosive weapons in my inventory. So why do I usually have puny handgun in roughly all or most of game cutscenes. My favorite scenes in sunset overdrive are when they acknowledge the weapon wheel/arsenal
spec op or elite status people/soldiers dying in stupid ways simply because reasons
Using a seemingly cool/unique feature in a game once or only for a limited time
Having the AI being able to essentially auto aim to your head and focus solely on you despite having others 2 feet from them.
Releasing old maps as a part of paid dlc. C'mon just release them free
    Silent protagonist
Scripted/unkillable enemy or vehicle because reasons

    1. The lore is fantastic, I'm no fan of master chief himself but the story and everything else going on I find enjoyable.
    2. The PVP has a pretty good following. I have several friends whom are very dedicated to the multiplayer and plan to be playing mostly that when MCC comes
    3. Their first. A decent amount of players on xbox had halo as one the first games they played on xbox or  360
If I had to sum it up there it is. Hopefully you enjoy it. There should be some guys here to team up with for MP and campaign. If I recall correctly they left split screening intact as well if you have anyone you physically know that wants to play.

I haven't finished it yet. But I like the tension it brings and the old school no auto saves which are equally annoying. I also now ordered a locker to sleep in seeing as how its how I spend most of my time in the game anyway
  19. Puntosmx liked a post in a topic by SIR BIGGLES 520 in Is it just me or has gaming changed?
Used to be make something great and profit from it. Now its lets make profit or will this make profit from it. Then if it turns out good, hurray for everyone. I did some R6V videos and the 2 dlcs for the game are free. I can honestly say they would not be free if that game was made now. Gaming is mainstream and big now. Plenty of publishers are now focused on money first, less risk and so on. Its becoming like the movie industry now, no risk, only remakes, adaptations, what the "casual" market sees/wants. Original ideas are becoming harder to find and if they are there its a risk and risk mean possibility of less money.

No reason for the heroic strikes and nightfall to not be matchmaking. Raid I can understand, that required some communication/coordination we had one guy without a mic but he was skyping one of the other guys and that was a pain in the ass alone.
