    Fun fact about this film:

Previously, Shane Black was supposed to direct this film. AKA the director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the recent movie The Nice Guys. He denied the offer because he's a big fan of the anime, and he doesn't want to fuck it up. Great decision!

Ah, and another fun fact: Zac Efron was originally Light, but he refused because he feels that Light shouldn't be portrayed as an American.

SO WHY THE FUCK IS HE PORTRAYED AS AN AMERICAN IN THE END???

THIS WHOLE MOVIE MAKES NO SENSE!!! I mean sure, you can change the character's race as long as the tone is true to the original like the upcoming Ghost in the Shell movie which is true to the anime even if the characters races are changed, but this film goes far beyond that and just fucks it all up. Changing the psychological mind game heavy subtlety of the anime series, and then turn it into a cliched US remake garbage with graphic violence, swear words and nudity??? NO! That is going too far. That's like Dragon Ball Evolution level of stupid shit! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU DEATH NOTE?? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?????

Not a fan of how action-focused it looks it's going to be, I didn't have much interest in it, but that trailer killed pretty much killed whatever I had left.

Too bad all the discussion around it seems to be the usual racebaiting bullshit rather than how crappy and out-of-tone it is with the source material
  4. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Ranisel in There's a Death Note US adaptation.
Still doesn't sound right, an adaptation is by definition not original. Exclusive would have made the wording much better.

"A Netflix original movie" ? Are you fucking shitting me? You put that shit up in your Trailer? Original? Yeah PETER JACKSON'S "ORIGINAL" LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY?!
What the actual fuck? Why are they showing that? Especially when they flash the "Based on--" part so quick I couldn't even read it fully, what?!
Also I agree, it looks too much action-oriented, I don't like that, and the racebaiting bullshit is saddening, it's just sad to see "Not-racists" be so obsessed with people's races... it's almost like they are... racist...?

  8. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Large filesize games and SSD hard drives
Some games load in the background as you play, others have multiple load screens between levels or sections and some have one big load at the start.  It's only really the latter two that see a significant benefit from being installed on an SSD.  I'm sure as SSD's become more popular, larger capacity and more affordable they will phase out the traditional HDD in a few more years and most of us will have SSD only machines.  Untill then it's best to take a more balanced approach and prioritize the OS, core applications and maybe some games that do get that benefit if your SSD is big enough which is what most people do.

As devs continue to make games bigger with more cutscenes, higher resolution texures, larger maps and so on inevitably install sizes are going to continue to get larger.  File compression can only do so much and some file types can only be archived while compressed and not actually used.  We would all like smaller files of course but I think you may have to accept that this is one we can't have both ways.
  9. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Rain in Large filesize games and SSD hard drives
While SSDs are becoming more competitive priced and normal in a PC rig, they are mostly used for the OS and have the standard HDDs for game content. Also another thing to note, SSDs have shorter life expectancy as opposed to HDDs which even deters me from putting games on my SSD.

For your actual question, I don't think a game's install size would ever matter to a reviewer as it doesn't effect the game. They might mention it if it's ridiculously big like TitanFall but most often than not it's never paid attention to. Having an SSD is a personal choice and game developers don't have to cater to people that have PCs with a lack of available memory. All we can do is hope extra care is taken into optimizing the game's file size.

It was a horrible system, both for dialogue and character development and for gameplay purposes, I was amazed it made it into the second game much less the final one.

It's not a game's fault if you act aggressive after playing it because it frustrated you. There is a name that kind of fits these kinds of people. They're called sore losers. It happens in all kinds of things, not just video games. They lose a game of some team sport and they yell or hit something. They lose their bets on a horse race and they storm off in a huff while tearing up their ticket and tossing it somewhere rather than disposing of it properly. Likewise, people who can't handle difficulty in a game are the problem. It's not about aspyrgers or whatever, it's simply that sore loser mentality.

So we get a live action adaptation of Death Note........oh wait........  IT ALREADY EXISTS!

    It's actually good as well.

If this new one is putting all the focus on the "shock" value on some swearing and a couple of boobie shots then I'm surprised they didn't the destruction all the way and just plagerise the story and give a different name like they did with this shit!

    Then just play Singleplayer games?

I mean, alot of multiplayer game feels the same because in some way or another, they are the same.
Be it gimmick, style or something else.
It could just be that you're "burned out" on multiplayer games, where you could put them aside for a time and eventually try to go back to them to see if you're still tired of multiplayer games.
Regardless, in the end it's up to you
You could also try games that focus more on Cooperative play than competitive, something like Left4dead, Payday 2 or something that you find interesting

  19. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Shagger in Could Star Citizen meet the same fate as No Man's Sky?
    Star Citizen is a bullshit robbery. No Man's Sky is no different except they have;

A: Come out with an actual game, however disappointing it might be instead of an alpha with a fully functional cash shop approaching a 7th anniversary.
B: Haven't been charging $5-$15 dollars more for gift cards then there're actually worth for no reason.
C: Don't offer pay to win ships that can cost hundreds, or even thousands of dollars.
D: Haven't blocked of content promised to customers at the beginning just because they didn't pledge soon enough.
    E. Non Man's Sky in not crowdfunded game, making all these practices all the worse from Star Citizen.

I'm not defending no man's sky, but anyone who supports Star Citizen has no right to complain.
  20. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by DemonsColt in Mafia 3's PC port is apparently... dogshit. Darn lazy porters....
60FPS allows for increased control, higher response times, and an overall more responsive game. When a game is set to 30, you cut the response times in half, resulting in a less responsive game, leading to issues like input lag. This is not about how it looks, but how it plays, and it's a stone cold fact that 60FPS and beyond improves the performance of a game. That's why almost all PC gamers go for 60 and beyond.
  21. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Apex Spartan in Mafia 3's PC port is apparently... dogshit. Darn lazy porters....
I'm saying there is a DIFFERENCE, whether someone thinks it's small or big is not my problem, but there is. That was my main point.
Someone might see it harder because they have bad vision which at that point doesn't matter, but people who have normal vision and who say "Human eye cant see more than 30FPS so 60FPS is same shit as 30 is same" are stupid, because there IS a fuckin' difference. Don't need proves or anything else. You still saw a difference, whether it's small or big. I see MAJOR difference between the 2, but there is a difference. I'm not talking about people who see a big or small difference, I'm talking about people who are saying that "human eye cant see more than 30fps" so they conclude that having 60FPS or more is useless, that it's just a number. That's fuckin stupidity and unwilling to SEE the difference. You said you saw a small difference, but you still know you can see more than 30.
60FPS is just a lot more smoother as if looking at something in real life because the animations and movement of everything is faster and more fluid and not "cinematic".

No point going on a insult crusade, because I wasn't talking about anyone specific or everyone who sees only a small difference, but as Meat said himself, I was talking about the "scientists" who apparently watched a documentary about human eyes and that it can't see more than 30. Read 2 or maybe 5 times before insulting me or anyone else, so that you know what I'm talking about exactly.
I was talking about people who fuckin pull off some science bullshit on this topic. I see a massive difference between the 2 and so do millions of others, at least with normal eyesight. There is nothing out there that proves that we can't see beyond 30. Like Jim said, it's the camera that feels smoother and the overall world seems faster and not cinematic.
  22. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Apex Spartan in Mafia 3's PC port is apparently... dogshit. Darn lazy porters....
Modders shouldn't be the ones to fix games. Also, most of them can't be fixed without proper mod support or tools to actually mod the game. You can make some MINOR improvements, but nothing too much. It's the developers who must make "fixed" games, not modders.

Mods can't be the reason developers release broken games because most of these games coming out can't even be properly modded in the first place because they lack proper mod support. Developers release broken games because they are lazy and it's got nothing to do with mods. They are just bad PC ports, that's all.
  23. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Battlefield 1 will focus on "War Stories" and multiple playable "memorable" characters
So a group of turn of the century Arabic rebels are fighting alongside and even taking orders from a woman......  COME ON that would barley ever happen now!  I wouldn't normally bitch about this especially as I generally encourage more female characters in these types of games but I'm not going to ignore the fact that this was a different time when women almost universally weren't welcome in combat.

Now please don't give the same excuse of "Battlefield was never meant to be realistic" because from what I understand this is a character who interacts directly with Thomas Edward Lawrence (AKA Lawrence of Arabia), a man who actually existed.  For better or worse the mentality of "only the men do the fighting" was part of who they were so there is no logic in this.

It's pretty clear to me that the only reason they did this was to get the so called "Feminazis" of their back.  If you absolutely insisted on including a female playable character in this then why not have a scenario where a field nurse is forced to pick up a gun against an attack on her medical facility and patients.... THERE!!!!!  I just came up with something more believable and interesting of the top of my head!
  24. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Battlefield 1 Singleplayer trailer
Yeah I'm confused to.......  Battlefront didn't have a campaign and it doesn't seem to much resemble or have any other direct relation to any other Star Wars media I've ever seen.

As for the trailer itself being as generous as I can be without lying, it's pretty much what I expected.  Clichéd, non-specific preaching about how tragic war is interweaving between allot of gunfire and shit blowing up.....  Which I guess would be fine if we learned a little bit more about our protagonists here, but It is DICE so I'm not expecting well developed characters anyway.

The voice acting/character animation seems very good though and the presentation is brilliant in that "Michael Bay/Hollywood" kind of way. I'm sure the beautiful but mindless action will get a rise out of some people but I would have SO much preferred something grounded a little more in reality.
  25. Mexiguy liked a post in a topic by Apex Spartan in Why is the German language dying?
Idk who came up with that, but German is well spoken throughtout Europe. In my country and few surrounding countries, its a very useful thing to know german due to the job possibilities. If im not wrong, german is at least in top 3 or 5 spoken languages in Europe. Imo knowing german in Europe is useful as knowing english for use in the general world.
