    The curtains are setting on a part of my life, and my time in this community is drawing to a close.

    Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I'm very soon going to be living alone in my home, all while preparing for my A2 exams (before university).
    Right now I barely have time for gaming, but it looks like I'll have very little time once I'm alone, and as I get closer and closer to exams, I'm going to be very busy too.
    Gaming is taking a definite backseat now, and I'll be retreating to a teamspeak of personal friends, with whom I can talk with for a few minutes in the evening.

    To the many people I've met and spoke with while I've been here:
    Thank you, you've made me feel right at home in this community.

    It's been a pleasure working with the Arma 3 community, right up until the end.
    Apologies for not making events consistently, things got very busy near the end.

    I will be keeping people on my steam friends list, and I'll be dropping into teamspeak now and then, so feel free to message me if you'd like a game.

    To any of our members in France right now, please stay safe! There's been mass shootings, bombings, and hostage-taking in Paris right now. If you or a loved one are in France, please read below.

    - Emergency special number (if you need information) (please, use it carefully, too many calls will make the line crash): 0800 40 60 05
    - Schools and universities are closed tomorrow. (in the whole country)
    - In Paris and IDF, it’s advised NOT TO MOVE. Don’t leave your home or the place you’re staying in unless you really have to.
    - It seems taxis are free tonight if you need a ride home.
    - 5 metro lines are closed: 3, 5,8 9 and 11
    - Maps of the attacks (source: Libération). Streets are probably closed around these areas.

    Everyone, now is the time to support those who need it most!

    I actually already made a post about this a few weeks ago. Humorous and I have been talking about it a bit, but we aren't sure about implementing it yet because of the small Arma 3 community in the AJSA and the poor reception of the old DayZ SA server.

    So I was looking into what has been on the internet, I looked back to my favorite game Dayz, and see that Frankieonpcin1080p has done a video on a new mod which has yet to come out yet. This post is more of a discussion for any upcoming thoughts on the new mod.

    The game has once again changed.

    Your last three attacks have left a mark on both the rebel and CSAT forces - CSAT have failed to deliver their promises of arms and reinforcements to the rebels, and has stretched their relationship to breaking point.

    Over the week, fighting has erupted between the two supposedly allied forces, leaving the battlefield in a sprawling, chaotic state. Both sides are employing extremely heavy weapons, bombing and shelling targets with extreme prejudice.

    NATO has picked now as a time to go loud.
    Your unit has been provided with a Merkavah tank, serving as both a troop carrier and fire support, as well as an unarmed MRAP, and an A10 and cluster shells for fire support.

    Two other units have also been deployed to the region, and you will be able to choose exactly where they will strike.

    We'll be making a lightning fast advance through several villages, with the ultimate goal of establishing an FOB, from which further advances will be launched.

    We'll meet in teamspeak at 8:20PM BST, and the mission will start at 8:30PM BST.
    As usual, we expect the mission to last about 1 hour 45 minutes.

    Prep the earplugs.

    Hey guys.
    I've been ill these last three days, so I've not been able to make a proper mission this sunday.

    If people do attend this sunday, we'll play a PVP VIP mission.

    One team will pick a spot to defend inside an area on altis, and the other team will attempt to rescue a VIP being held in the building the defending team is in.

    Both teams have a free choice over what weapons they choose, other than these weapons (just for the sake of balance):

    Each team will be allowed:
    1x DMR (with a non-thermal scope)
    1x Laser designator
    1x claymore mine
    2x RPG29 rounds + either 1 or two tubes
    1x 40mm greande launcher, with 4 rounds
    See you on the evening, guys!

    Five years after the NATO withdrawal from the region - five years of relative peace - large scale war is once again taking place on Afghan soil.

    At 9am last friday, a coalition of southern rebels and CSAT forces began advancing north through Afghanistan, encountering only light resistance from guerilla local forces. Since then, they've annexed almost the whole country, leaving behind a wake of destruction.

    Afghanistan is one of the few remaining countries still under NATO's shrinking influence.
    As a result, these developments have not gone unnoticed:

    You are part of a special forces team being deployed into the Kunduz region, an area captured by CSAT and rebel forces almost a week ago. The area has been almost entirely abandoned by it's civilian population, except for the stubborn few who remain.
    While your presence has not yet been officially announced (or approved through the UN), you are the first NATO soldiers to enter the region. Your mission is to disrupt the operation of CSAT and rebel forces, and ultimately force the enemy out of the region.
    To put it simply – you are here to blow sh*t up.

    This will give NATO forces a foothold, allowing them to mount a larger campaign later on.

    We plan to come in with a bang:

    Your mission on Sunday will be simple.
    - Breach the town of Anbar Teppeh, destroy the small Rebel barracks and the radio tower using satchel charges.
    - Intercept and destroy an enemy supply convoy which will head past the town later on.
    - and establish a new camp for the night.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    As usual, we will meet in teamspeak on Sunday 6th September 2015, at 8PM GMT / 2:20PM CST
    Our mission will last approximately 1 hour 45 minutes
    In order to play the mission, you MUST have the modpack installed.
    You can download it through the workshop through the link below.
  21. Humorousone liked a post in a topic by Alexander452 in Royalty free stuff websites and channels for your videos and other things
    We all know that the youtube copyright rules are strict.
    Breaking those rules can even lead to your youtube channel being shut down
    But lucky for those that want to use music or sfx in their videoes, and wanting to avoid copyright infrigements at the same time.
    There are options out there.
    There are the 100% free music and SFX options, that only requires you to credit the creator and put a link to their website or channel.
    Sometimes there are a chance that the content (mostly music) becomes copyrighted and you will get a notification about it. (very low chance though, it only happend to me once)
    Good channels for music are for example
    This list of youtube channels all have royalty free music for you to use
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYI9qNK66LHNS9uoMqcU7tA
    https://www.youtube.com/user/holfix/
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIe3BQ6Hm27Jxdc5MWuJuYQ/videos
    https://www.youtube.com/user/GTNmusik/featured
    https://www.youtube.com/user/AudioPad/featured
    https://www.youtube.com/user/VidaduMusic/featured
    https://www.youtube.com/user/OrbitalMusicYT/videos
    https://www.youtube.com/user/RoyaltyFreeBitches/featured
    https://www.youtube.com/user/musicfreelibrary/featured has both music and sfx
    And then there is the SFX channels
    https://www.youtube.com/user/SoundEffectsFactory  which are a youtube channel dedicated to make SFX free to use by anyone and the only thing you need to do is to credit the original creator
    https://www.youtube.com/user/WithSquaredGlasses/featured
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5bVBV8qU3fa9TYT9k4VRiA
    It is easier to find free SFX from various channels than it is to find Free music, so i wont post all of the channels that have some sort of SFX
    Then there are the license music and sounds, even though it's better quality most of the times, they are fucking expensive. Yet the possibility of getting a copyright strike is eliminated completely.
    There are options here as well, allthough im not as experienced or have alot of knowlegde in this section as i have never licensed anything. (because that is damn expensive)
    https://www.youtube.com/user/BlueFoxMusic/featured
    there are alot of websites the sell licenses to music and sounds and some have also free options
    http://audiojungle.net/ has alot of audio that requires you to buy it first
    http://www.freeplaymusic.com/index.aspx gives free audio license for personal use on your youtube profile for the next 99 years (not monetized) everything else comes at a prize
    https://www.jamendo.com/en?from=search is only audio with a priced license (as far as i know)
    http://dig.ccmixter.org/ is a mix of both free and licensed audio
    http://www.jewelbeat.com/index.php is a website where as far as i know, most things are at a price of 2.99$
    http://audioblocks.com/ either go with the free trial or the subscription fee
    http://incompetech.com/ are with no license for the music and the only requirement is giving credit to the original creator
    http://sampleswap.org/index.php for the most part looks like it's also 100% license free
    http://www.freesfx.co.uk/soundeffects/cartoon_comical/ you need an account to download anything, but it supposedly free
    http://www.purple-planet.com/home/4583818248 has both free and licensed music
    http://www.icompositions.com/index.php the license terms differs from artist to artist
    http://opsound.org/ is also free to use
    http://bandcamp.com/ license only (as far as i know)
    http://soundbible.com/ sounds effects that are free to use
    http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/ has alot of different things to offer
    http://www.soundjay.com/ alot of different SFX
    http://www.premiumbeat.com/ some of the more expensive stuff
    http://www.bensound.com/ has both the free option, but also the license option (depending on what you're using it for)
    http://www.audiomicro.com/royalty-free-music has also both the free and the license option (depending on what you're using it for)
    http://www.mobygratis.com/ are free as long as it's nonprofit
    http://www.freesoundtrackmusic.com/ offer free music and only requires credits for the creator
    http://www.pacdv.com/sounds/free-music.html also free, but also require you to give credit to the creators
    http://publicdomain4u.com/ has alot of music where the copyright ran out
    https://musopen.org/ the same as publicdomain 4u
    http://www.beatpick.com/ has alot fo different license option, based upon what you're using the audio for
    http://music.monstercat.com/ requires a monthly subscription in order to use the license
    Here are some bonus websites
    http://www.epicsound.com/sfx/ not really offering any SFX or music, but gives you tips on how to make your own SFX
    http://www.stephanschutze.com/videos.html some interesting videoes, i recommend watching the Bioshock 2 Audio Analysis
    Well i hope at least this helped someone. (and yes... is was bored, so i made this topic)
    Take care
    Although you're getting free access to the music and SFX, it is always good to check on the *Terms Of Use* for any content you want to use. Just to be safe
    Get your wetsuits ready, men - it's time.
    We may have lost Pyrgos, but the lives of our agents were not in vain.
    The intel we recovered from the surviving agent last week was valuable.
    He's been in communication with an insider in one of the research teams working in a lab with the CSAT forces. They've been producing a small jamming device, a modified EMP warhead.
    Once activated, it'll disable our air defence systems long enough for them to mount a helicopter-bourne offensive on yet another city, and annex yet more of our land.
    The device is currently being readied for use, in the labs to the southeast of the airport.
    This Sunday at 8:30pm BST/2:30 CST, they'll be loading the device onto a truck, readied to be transported to the front line.
    This is our chance.
    We need to get into the labs stealthily, without giving the enemy the opportunity to destroy or move the device.
    We can do this by assaulting the beach as a diving team. That'll give us the opportunity to destroy the sonar emplacement, too.
    We can then move up to the lab from the beach.
    We then have two options from here:
    - We can destroy the device with explosives. We'll be able to extract easily from the beach via our assault boats. This will deny the enemy the use of device.
    - or, we can try to steal the device, by travelling south along the roads and fighting our way out. It'll be tougher, but we may be able to use the device later on. Our assault boats can cover our extract.
    For either of these plans, we'll need to destroy the sea-radar emplacement, in order to deny the enemy the time to prepare their helicopters for our assault boat attack.
    Once again, the briefing will begin in teamspeak at 8:30pm GMT/2:30PM CST this Sunday, and we'll launch our attack at 8:40pm/2:40PM CST.
    Be ready, gentlemen.
