I totally agree with this multiplayer only stuff, and I would be willing to add in the "always online" into that.... Like when you can't play a single player game because it can't connect to the server... What the actual fuck?!? I just want to sit and play, but because it can't connect to Origin/Ubisoft/whatever I can't play?!? That's just stupid...

And honestly, as long as people keep supporting day one DLC and other bullshit (pay-to-win levelup packs, dlc content that should have been in the release, etc) then it is NOT GOING TO STOP. And no matter how many ppl complain, there is ALWAYS gonna be ppl who buy it (lots of disposible income, or mommy & daddy's credit card) so they are not going to stop... The ONLY way it would stop if there was some sort of consensus among gamers (HAAA!) which is never gonna happen cause most can't even stop trashing each other long enough about their choice of gaming medium, let alone actually band together and agree on something...

Glad to have you Sn0rchblatt :-) I've found that ESO is pretty user friendly, even if you've never played an MMO or Elder Scroll game. You don't really need to know all the lore, but it is kind of fun when you come across something you've seen in a previous game. Plus, because of the combat system, its not "stand still and cast" like traditional MMO combat.. You can run and attack like in other Elder Scroll games(or action games in general)
There's some good info sites in the General Info thread. Different character builds and such. And if your game comes w/ the explorer pack, you can do any race in any faction, so your options expand. We are in Ebonhart Pact so keep that in mind when you create your character.

You know I might call myself a hypocrite when I say this as I am getting Rainbow Six Siege after it releases, but that doesn't change the fact that this shit needs to stop. I know, PvP and eSports are the big talk when it comes to gaming nowadays. I fucking get it okay? But that does NOT excuse the fact that they are not worth the money they ask for, let alone for $60. I can't help but put the blame on Titanfall and Evolve for this. You know what? Never mind that statement, it is their fault.

Titanfall was the most critically acclaimed games last year and just understand how that is. There was no Single Player content to speak of at all when it launched and its "Multiplayer-Campaign" was a complete joke. I can't believe how much they half-assed it. And this was from the same guys who made the original Modern Warfare games? What? How fucking weak... I hate Titanfall, I really do. I don't care what anyone says, I absolutely hate this game. It is the most overhyped, overrated, barebones shooter I've ever played and I never want another part of it. Fuck this game.

Then there is Evolve; oh boy this game. Now this game was where I ALMOST could have forgiven it's $60 price tag due to the maps being free. But then I realized that was the only free content we would be getting in the game. All of the Hunters and Monsters you had to buy later on and the pricing for them was ridiculous. I mean $15 for ONE Monster? Why? What the fuck kind of jackass would pay that much for one playable monster? I guess people are that stupid then if it was selling well enough, sad fact though. I would have bashed my head in with a metal baseball bat if I ever wasted that much money on this game.

Now we have games like Star Wars Battlefront and Rainbow Six Siege doing the same thing. As I said above; yes, I am buying Siege, but unlike Evolve, Titanfall, and Battlefront, what I played actually felt like something I would want to come back to at anytime and wouldn't get bored of so fast. Plus the maps AND the new Operators will be free; that's as far as I'll go when spending $60 on these types of games. However I am questioning a Day 1 purchase as the shown in the Open Beta that the servers are still not up to snuff. Which really boggles my mind how they can't even get it right after an Alpha and two Betas. Ubisoft Montreal what the hell you guys doing over there?

As for Battlefront, hell no. I may be a Star Wars fan (The Force Awakens hype is real!), but when it comes to the games, I want quality AND quantity. I don't give a rats ass about how "authentic" it is to the films, the fact is that DICE's Battlefront is bare-bones in content and the content that it does have is completely lacking, and the amount of depth (or lack thereof) in the game is pathetic. I won't do it. I have more freaking self respect than the community itself has. "But it's a fun game!" So? I had fun with Colonial Marines and that game was a pile of garbage. I'm so sick of that argument it's not even funny. It's not even a valid argument.

Overall all, as I stated with Rainbow Six Siege and partially with Evolve; if your PvP only game will be supported with free content constantly, then I won't be opposed to spending $60 on it that much IF what I played is addicting and satisfying. But as whole, these games are becoming more and more shallow in terms of content and depth. Its a growing, nasty trend that is slowly getting out of control. If you guys love this sort of practice, more power to ya. Me? I want no part of it and, quite frankly, hopes this trend finally falls on its ass one day. Probably won't happen soon, but when it does, I'll be one happy man.

There is a really helpful map site I came across www.game-maps.com that has everything marked on the maps for all the areas of the game. They are nicely detailed, with all the delve locations, world bosses, dolman locations, group dungeons, points of interest (the eye icon) and skyshards.
Here are the Elder Scrolls Maps . The site has maps for tons of other games too.
This is the Stonefalls Map, for example
  13. Psykogrl liked a post in a topic by Lightning in Do you guys and gals feel Star Wars: Battlefront underwhelming?
Ok, here we go. We already know about no campaign, no instant action, no space battles, no Clone Wars, etc, etc, so lets talk about what the game has. And imma just sum it up and be quick, not writing a review here. The game has 9 MP modes, 4 planets with about 4 maps each, has tutorial, battle and survival mission modes which can be all played in splitscreen, 6 heros, a couple of vehicles of which only 2 are land based, 11 weapons, bunch of Star Cards and customization options for your character.
In regards to the main MP, only 2 modes are noteworthy which are Walker Assault and Supremacy. The rest are throwaway modes and deathmatch. Heres the thing, this time DICE didnt make all maps huge and then for smaller player count modes just sectioned off portions of the maps to use like in Battlefield. This time DICE made smaller unique maps to use for small player count modes and separate big ones for the big player count modes. That by itself wouldnt be bad, it would be great but, the issue is that at the end of it all were left with only 4 maps for the noteworthy modes! Just 4 maps for what we came to Battlefront for, big ass Star Wars battles.
And just in case anybody is confused, im not talking about 4 different maps for each Walker Assault and Supremacy, oh no. I mean the same map you use for Hoth/Walker Assault is the same one used for Hoth/Supremacy and so on and so forth with the rest of the planets. Hell, for the dog fighting mode which I forgot the name, im pretty sure they use those same maps just up in the sky. Though dont quote me on this, mode is meh because flying is meh, therefor, I've only played like 3 matches of it. And that is how the rest of the modes feel, meh, making maps for those modes essentially, wasted. In turn, making WA and Supremacy feel repetitious fast, specially if you would only play one of the modes. Instead of Joe saying "four hours" in his review, he should say four maps this time lol.
As for the "missions" part of the game, well make no mistake, most of that stuff is essentially mini games. 5 tutorial missions which can be completed in less than 20 mins, im not kidding. The missions have side objectives and they all have that one that say finish under target time with target times ranging from 3 mins to 6. The battle missions are just sorta deathmatch with the AI on the smaller maps in which you need to pick up coins of killed enemies to score, first to 100 wins. Mode also lets you play as hero and the only modifier is whether you want stupid ass friendly AI with you but, best not as they will make you lose. And BTW, when splitscreening that mode you cant team up with your partner, its head to head only for some reason. Though hero battles like this were fun for a bit but, its no Hero battles of BF2. And finally Survival, horde mode with no twist in it, just 15 waves with increasing difficulty. Splitscreen should be done here but, I suggest getting another game for your splitscreening career.
I have this other gripe with the gameplay but, it could go either way with people. Since the game is going more of a casual route, balance doesnt seem to be top priority. This means there is stuff in this game that will just one shot you out of no where and one or two OP guns, rebels needed a vehicle, basically, balance is not exactly balanced. But, up to you I guess. Spawns undeniably need work though.
There, the facts and some of my thoughts on the game. I tried to not make it too long and ranty but, im just disappointed. Keep in mind that I am a big Star Wars fan and have been waiting 10 years for this game. Still to this day I pop in previous Battlefronts on my 360 to do splitscreen with brother and people that come over, imagine that! But, even though I do see good in it, I seriously doubt I'll be doing the same for this Battlefront years later.

TLDR: 2015 Battlefront is good gameplay wise and it nails the atmosphere almost perfectly but, its hardly comparable in content to previous tittles and I doubt it will have strong staying power. Moreover, I dont think its worth 60 dollars for what it is, an online MP focused game. EA, fucked us.
  14. Psykogrl liked a post in a topic by FakeAvus in Opinion: Fallout Series - I can't do it anymore...
I don't understand why you force yourself to like a type of game that you don't like. Fallout series is always a RPG. And you are look for a shooting game WTF?? Even Fallout (from 3) can play like FPS but it is always a RPG first. It has EVERYTHING to do being a RPG. Also you miss A LOT by not using V.A.T.S in any Fallout game. It is like complaining GTA5 is not a good racing game... go figure... If you want a game with great graphics and good shooting mechanic, go buy Star Wars battlefront, CoD, BF4, Far Cry 4, Just Cause 3, Killing Floor 2...
Don't blame the games. Blame your inability to know what you really want and understand what the game really is. Fallout 4 has pretty good graphics, a very good RPG, has a great storyline, great crafting system, great character creation, good dialogue... (Do you see all the good points are related to RPG??)
I have a Honda S2000 and will never complaint its cargo capacity. (which is actually pretty good for a roadster but still no match against anything) If I really want a car with more cargo capacity, I will get a 5 door hatchback instead (which i had a 3 door hatchback for) and will not complaint how suck S2000's cargo area on Internet.
**BTW. I just use GTA5 as an example. Racing in GTA5 is actually pretty good. Better than many arcade racer IMO. Definitely better than that POS new Need for Speed from fxxing EA.

Has anyone tried the new Games with Gold, Knight Squad? It sort of reminds me of Bomberman, but with FPS game types, like capture the flag and team deathmatch. I haven't played online yet, just a few single player w/ bots to check it out; but it does seem pretty cool.

And it looks like it's been fully funded for three full episodes.  If we reach 3.3 million, we get six episodes.  4.4 million gets us nine episodes.  But we should aim for 5.5 million, that gets us a full season.

    Exciting, isn't it?
