    Hey guys,

I've been feeling the pain of the solo queue lately and was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping find some players to make a full 5 man team to play competitive on the odd occasion, although mostly for fun, rather than serious hard out play. Keeping in mind I'm Silver Elite Master (deranked again ).

I was considering putting this in the scrim section, but I thought it best to put it here as I don't have any set dates or times or anything and am really just testing the waters to see if people might be interested in making a casual competitive team.

Yeah I don't even have a monitor that supports 2.5k gaming....actually, I have a small cheapo t.v. But if you have the money for it, why not.

When I was looking for help deciding on what speakers etc to get for my pc (I'm an audiophile hence why I forked out for my sound card), someone basically put it like this: "There is sound quality, volume and price, now pick 2". Personally I think it holds true for the electronics industries in general.

    Pardon?

This has nothing to do with what is better or worse, it's just numbers and when did I start an elitest argument?

I really hope so. Games will be seeing better 8 core support throughout the year and hopefully muli-monitor will become more of the standard so we see it better supported too. It would be cool if we get such good multi-monitor support we could have 8 or more player split screen across multiple monitors....but I doubt that one will happen, I'm probably just dreaming.

But I'm also worried about the F2P market becoming too big. I'm not really a fan of F2P (besides the LoL and Dota models) and I'm more a fan of the old school, buy it and own it model.

I was actually surprised by this. But I'm not sure whether or not this is a good or bad thing. On one hand this "should" increase compatibility and support for better hardware etc (as long as that hardware gets used). On the other hand, it may increase the amount of shovelware being bought and thereby increase the amount of shovelware being created. But that's just my 2c.

    Thoughts?

If you want extra (or larger) storage, but don't want to keep forking out for a massive SSD, you may consider getting an SSHD (Solid State Hard Drive). It's a hybrid that has physical disks and solid state components, for faster speed than an HDD but more space (and cheaper price) than an SSD. But not quite the speed of a pure SSD.

As for the PSU, checking cooler masters psu calculator, your machine should come in at around 646 watts, which should put you near the sweet spot in terms of performance. But if you're considering another major upgrade down the line (like getting another GPU) than I would consider getting a slightly larger model. Anything other than an extra GPU and that power supply will be fine.
  8. SnipeAHolic12 liked a post in a topic by Vikeyev in Building a PC
Well actually that depends on the resolution. 4k gaming you're gonna need a hell of a lot more power, even 2.5k gaming you still need a fair grunt.

Seriously, I hate this Freemium crap with a passion. Just give me the old school business model (like GW2). I really love this game, I must admit, but the progression is insanely slow, plus all this golden eagle crap to advance faster, buy more crews, train your crews faster, have more then 5 planes.

I just want to buy a plane game and own a plane game that I can play with my brother on our PC's. Any goodies anyone here knows about?
Must not be free to play.

    Thanks in advance.

That would be like buying a computer, having someone rip out one of the ODD's or HDD's and saying, "Now you have to pay extra for these ones, even though they were there to begin with. I'm not FORCING you to buy them."
You're not forced to buy an extended warranty here in Australia, but that doesn't mean it's not a bullshit practice, considering you are already covered by law.
Not having all of the extra content doesn't ruin my gaming experience, doesn't it? Funny that because having all of the extra content tends to increase my enjoyment while playing the games...so you're wrong.

Except for the fact that they can feed their families without this DLC. You are acting like Devs are all starving to death. If they were they wouldn't be doing this TRUST ME, I've been homeless multiple times. What's more this isn't exactly an Indie Game, this is from Ubisoft...they are not exactly in the position of struggling to feed their starving families.
The devs aren't giving anyone anything so stop acting like they are. They are creating a product to sell and guess what? Locking parts out of the game is considered a pathetic practice by most. Shit like this is why TPB is so popular. It is not the job of individual people to just KNOW, that devs are pulling bullshit like this, hence why it is important to talk about so people know about it.

Companies ARE NOT BENEVOLENT! They will not self regulate in a vacuum. It is up to consumers to keep them in check and to stop them ripping off their customers, bending over and accepting whatever they've got for you is a problem.

You wanna know what happens when companies try to rip people off, even a tiny bit. They go elsewhere, or get that product through other means.

Although you can judge a game subjectively (eg. How much do I like this game? etc.), you can judge a game objectively based on its quality. For example if I buy a shirt from the store and all of the buttons fall off immediately after trying to put on the shirt, it's pretty fair to say that the quality of the shirt isn't up to scratch; hence saying that the shirt is bad.

Video games can be judged the same way. If a video game performs like an absolute bitch, it's fair to say that the game is bad, because the quality is bad.

There's a very big difference between a game that isn't likeable, and a game that is simply patently bad quality.

Good job Gamestop. You have finally lived up to your name. You have stopped selling games in some of your stores. Why not change over to selling sporting goods too? I would love to go into game stop and pick out a nice hunting rifle and deer urine. Oh wait no I wouldn't... I would go to game stop to buy GAMES and nothing else.

Well once again we see someone who was not quite prepared and didn't quite work out the costs of their project very well, fail to come through with their promises. Only this particular one went the most insanely extreme way he possibly could have short of attacking the kickstarters.

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=51375

"John Campbell, creator of the webcomic "Pictures For Sad Children," raised over $51,615 via Kickstarter for a print collection of his work in 2012. Since the campaign's completion, he claims to have shipped "75% of Kickstarter rewards to backers" -- but he won't be shipping out any more. In a recent update to his Kick starter campaign, Campbell posted a video of himself burning 127 of the remaining books -- one for each of the messages via social media he has received so far about the late-shipping books, and he'll burn another one every time he gets another message about a backer not getting their rewards."

Ok seriously WTF!! I understand it's stressful, I do, but you should have thought all of it out (including the costs involved) before trying to do this. What's more, you've basically just turned around and said "Well FUCK YOU" to the people who gave up the MOST of their hard earned money, to help see this project through to it's end. Great way to stab people in the back for trying to help your cause.

As for BF4, I couldn't comment, because I no longer buy EA games as a result of their money first customer last attitude. As for Ghosts, it ran terribly on computer, many people had problems with it, plus it was a shitty game all round. Even if it worked FLAWLESSLY for everyone ever when it was first released, that's not much of a bragging point if the game was a piece of shit. What's more, it is literally old hat in regards to doing the same shit and adding nothing, so you trying to use it against BF4 is laughably hypocritical.

OH NO, people are bitching about something you don't care about, than why bitch about people bitching about something? That actually makes you worse than them. Whether or not the selling price of titan fall is a valid whining point is irrelevant as you have just made your own thread just to whinge and bitch about people whinging and bitching about it. If you genuinely feel that people shouldn't be complaining about that and that it is one sided criticism go tell them, don't create a pointless rant thread in an attempt to find people who agree with you.

You seem to have completely missed the point. MANY of these developers using kickstarter or whatever have NO OTHER WAY of making the game real. That means most of these games could never exist without crowd sourcing. "In a way", that also includes Minecraft and many other games (As minecraft wasn't kickstarted but it was sold in alpha and beta).

Do you not realise how much money it actually takes to create a full game? I'm a huge fan of mods and modders but have you not seen the difference in quality (and time it takes) between free mods and a full new game and a completely different engine. The money gives them the ability to buy better hardware to use, to hire more experienced people (especially when porting to other platforms) to spend more time adding in extra content and in some cases to self publish and more.

The whole idea of buying an early access game is to ENSURE THE GAME GETS CREATED!!! Without early access etc some great games would never exist. Open betas are also important to ensure your game is bug free, because it opens the floodgates for people to come and break every aspect of it.

That being said, we have already seen that the early access program is open to abuse and so is kickstarter. These things, are basically like an investment. There is always an inherent risk in them.

I found this on the Cynical brit sub redit, I also checked the community hub to have a look and apparently the company has pulled a bait and switch and IMHO fucked over there customers.

For those of you who don't know what the game is: http://store.steampowered.com/app/244450/

What the company has done, is they offered the game on Pre-order, but today when it was supposed to be released, they changed it to Early Access.

So basically, they tricked people into thinking they were Pre-ordering a full release game then quickly changed it to Early Access right before releasing it. They have also removed the refund button, meaning people can't get a refund from them, they have to attempt to get a refund from Valve. Anyone who has attempted that knows just how difficult and near impossible that can be.

This is such a detestable practice, this is false advertising and DigitalMindSoft and their publisher 1C Company should be charged for doing this to people. Now, the company claims it did this because the game wasn't ready to be released, but it could have just extended the release date instead of turning it into Early Access.

They published a small notice on their site about changing to Early Access......yesterday. Giving people one day to read it on (correction)*the steam community hub*.

I must admit I've never even heard of the franchise before today, or the Devs for that matter and apparently the franchise is rather good. But still, doing something like that should never be accepted, it potentially opens the flood gates to any company wishing to milk money from their fan base with a quick bait and switch.
Everyone should listen to Total Biscuit when he says, you shouldn't pre-order games. It would stop this practice in it's tracks.
