Don't look at me; I'm still living in the dark ages where we buy physical copies of games by going into these things called "stores" that don't require you to install 100,000 different launchers before you can play the games. Still, if Steam gets trumped by anyone I hope it's by GOG because at least with them I can keep my games long after we annex Canada and start WW3, which will be ironic when future me is still playing Fallout 3.

Congrats on making a second book! I know someone who made books like this one:

I was given this and 2 other books she made as a package for a job consultation course she offered. I read the book & because of it, I got a job after struggling a lot with finding one. Then I helped her out with her events + bookselling, so I know how hard it is to sell books that's just made. The price is the same as yours, $25 USD, or $35AUD, and she does sell these books after lectures in events she did. The key is good marketing + showing what your book has to offer so people will want to buy it. Then word of mouth will settle the rest, though it's harder nowadays since everyone wants to read stuff in digital form + audiobooks.

Oh, that show that Matthew Mercer hosts!

Nah, too nerdy for me. Love the voice actors, but I'll let them do their business. I'm not so much a super fan that I would go ask for their autograph.

Besides, meeting all the famous FGC players in my Dragonball tournament + Disney Land is already a great adventure.

The shelter called him L'Chaim, which is a Hebrew toast meaning "To Life". I thought it was cool, so I kept it. But we also call him "Stubs" because they had to dock his tail due to an infection. Of course, like EVERY other cat I've owned, he's been reduced to being called "kitty" or "puss cat". The dog is Maggie.

Ah, it's been too long since I've heard those words...

...Suffice it to say I'm not buying this new battle royale mode for Fallout 4.

Actually there's a global event coming up in December 15 - 16 called Couch Warriors Crossup.
    https://www.couchwarriors.org/category/couchwarriors-crossup/

It's a big worldwide Dragonball FighterZ tournament which I will take part in, which also has other fighting game tournaments to join in. Buut since it's coming soon, I'm guessing you don't have the time for it, and it's probably not your kind of event if you don't play fighting games. Australia always waits for newcomers, so feel free to come any time you want.

Not that this is a bad thing, but lately I've been engaged in some rather curious gaming behaviour that I'd like to discuss.
Namely, I have a whole Steam list full of games I purchased and haven't even played, but I keep going back to just two:
    Skyrim and Fallout 4.
I really can't seem to put my finger on why. I've played both of these games up to and past the actual "end game" several times, but I just keep rerolling characters and starting all over again. I also keep finding new mods I want to try out. Skryim is currently sitting at 138 active mods and Fallout 4 is running 167.
Every time I open my Steam list and try to find a new game to instal I just say "Nah, I'll play Skyrim/Fallout". Crazy!
Unless of course my little sister in Washington calls and wants to play The Forest.

I feel you. To me it seems like there just aren't that many games that catch my attention anymore like they used to...
Like occasionally there'll be the odd indie game that has whacky physics or some other kind of crazyness drawing me to it like 'Stick Fight' or 'Totally Accurate Battle Simulator' but I usually avoid alot of the new AAA releases because they're often just so... similar and lackluster, whereas I could just load up Skyrim with the Enderal mod installed and play a completely different game even though it's literally the same engine and everything.
I mean, Red Dead Redemption 2 is obviously an exception but if I'm getting one of those for every Call of Duty clone or Obligatory Battle Royale game it's kinda like I'm at a McDonald's getting a large fry and every fry in the box except one tasted absolutely horrible -- which is starting to happen alot more and I could swear these fries used to taste better, like did they change the oil or something... *Leaves to continue ranting about McDonald's fries*

I don't know...am I the only one that's not getting a good feeling about Fallout 76 after watching all the promotional material released so far?
I was willing to give the multiplayer aspect a chance, but now it looks like it's going to be just another boring copy of RUST and who knows how many other "survival" shooters, just with a Fallout theme. The idea of exploring the wasteland with your friends is cool, the knowledge that some twelve-year-old jackass can ruin your whole day just because he feels like it is not. I would feel a lot differently about this game if it was strictly PVE.

    There's a mod for that...
Of course, it doesn't change the fact that there is essentially no "bad" choice. Even the snarky responses push you toward being a "good" guy/girl. I have a journal mod installed that allows you to write your own player notes. I tried playing once where my personal journal made the character out to be a real ***hole who didn't care about her kid and was pissed that someone got to shoot her cheating husband before she could. It didn't mesh at all with any of the pre-written dialogue options, and I eventually gave up trying.
  14. PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in There's an Uncharted Fan Film, starring Nathan Fillion. PERFECT CASTING!!
What an awesome fan film!  Perfectly cast, it's got all the witty dialogue, sense of adventure, the cinematography is perfect and it has such a level of polish that you don't see in most fan films. I hope that Sony is taking notice and do a Deadpool by just giving the makers of this a budget and then staying out of it.  That quality for 2 hours and you have best video game adaptation of all time!

I am looking forward to '76. But I am cautiously optimistic as I don't want to get disappointed or hype it for myself to the point where i expect great things.
If it doesn't follow a MMO standard when it comes to loot like, "I killed this NPC wearing badass armor, but I only got bones from him", then I think it'll be fine.
I want a full loot system like in F3/F4 as it makes it more interesting to look for powerful enemies. There is an exception though and that's when you murder robots, but I believe that changed when we got the Fallout 4 Robot DLC (I can't remember the name on top of my head).

I am excited to see what it will be like and despite bad omens, I want to hope for the best.

I Like Bethesda's open world RPG's and usually get very excited when a new one is announced, but I share the same concerns that @PlasticFrogCGhas with this one.  In particular this whole Nuclear Weapons aspect, I don't want to gather the resources and spend the hours required to build my base just to have some dickhole nuke the fucking thing!  They need separate and/or private servers where people can disable that shit.  If they don't then that might just be the dumbest idea they have ever had.

I feel the information we are getting is a bit conflicted.  They say they have quests yet there are no NPC's.  They say you can play the game on your own yet it seems like you can be harassed and your base robbed/destroyed at any time even if you aren't there.  They say it's an RPG but it sounds like it has way more in common with an online survival game like RUST or something.  What is this game!

I much prefer the traditional single-player RPG experience in that I can play at my own pace in my own time and so far Bethesda has done a piss poor job of convincing people like me that this is the type of Fallout experience that we want.

    Sweet!
The only thing I didn't like about the first game was the bland story and it was REALLY short, other than that it really had potential and I'm happy to see that it looks like Bethesda has done just that!
Bethesda has been doing top-notch with their FPS games. Both DOOM and the Wolfenstein games have been fantastic so far.
  19. PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in RAGE 2 is official. Remember the first game?
RAGE was an underrated fps game back in 2011. The gunplay & driving was solid, the futuristic Mad Max setting is interesting, it has one of the best character body language for dialogues in any game, and I love just seeing the different characters and their animations when they talk to you. I remember this girl the most because she's the early npc, and she's cute!

It is a real shame that there's no 1 character npc that sticks with you till the end of the game. The story is just.... there. It's all just an excuse for you to go to different locations and shoot people. All of the characters are varied, but they're like that it's a small world ride in Disneyland attractions that you pass through.
And it has a gigantic blue balling cliffhanger ending, which I fucking hate. I've been waiting for the sequel since that anticlimactic end, until now.

Recently RAGE 2 was leaked by Walmart, and Bethesda's community manager playfully schooled the thing to pieces

And now the actual game is finally revealed!

Gonna be honest, this looks like a Destiny Mad Max expansion pack, but better since there will be no bullshit Diablo grinding & looting where you have to switch guns over and over again when you can just have a gun that you can upgrade to your liking. Or at least I'm hoping there will be none of those things because I just want simple fast paced FPS action like DOOM, with cars. So I'm looking forward to this game already. Can't wait to use my wingsticks once more & blow shit up!

    Saints Row 3...oh, wait.
I'm with Crazycrab, I really enjoyed Vice City, and for much the same reasons. It was just plain fun. Instead of San Andreas I was really hoping they would keep going backward in time and do one set in the 70s.

  22. Crazycrab liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in Recognition with full speech capability.
Yeah, pretty much what crab said. Despite some advances the tech really isn't there, and honestly I'm not sure it's even close.
However, when it is...I fully expect to be able to play a game where player responses are actually voiced by the player and the AI reacts to key words in the player's response! It would be the most awesome and infinitely re-playable RPG EVER!
  23. PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Recognition with full speech capability.
I'm not convinced that what your suggesting is even really possible right now.  I know you can get text-to-speech software which works fine as an aid for someone who is mute for example.  For this to work as an actual game mechanic it would also have to use the correct inflections, tone of voice, volume and the characters would have to be animated to match.  In effect it has to do the job of a voice actor and an AI just isn't smart enough to do that!  The only other option would be to get the voice actors to record thousands upon thousands of hours dialog for each conceivable name which is far beyond the realms of practicality.
  24. PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in Papers Please has a short film.
One of the best movie based on a video game. Which is actually surprisingly easy to do since the game is just about you being an immigration officer with a lot of stuff that happens which will be a good watch in a film. And this film does a great job at capturing what's in the game. Bravo! Sad that in this film Elisa's denied entry. I always let her in.

Have you tried the Oblivion Character Overhaul. It fixes it up well enough for me. However, I do not expect Skyblivion to have potato faces because, as I said, the ENTIRE game is being redesigned by hand. This includes all textures and meshes for the game.
