Saints Row 3...oh, wait.
I'm with Crazycrab, I really enjoyed Vice City, and for much the same reasons. It was just plain fun. Instead of San Andreas I was really hoping they would keep going backward in time and do one set in the 70s.

I am still wary of this cloud based performance nonsense like this. Give me some actual, physical hardware that will GUARANTEE performance!
Crazycrab liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in Recognition with full speech capability.
Yeah, pretty much what crab said. Despite some advances the tech really isn't there, and honestly I'm not sure it's even close.
However, when it is...I fully expect to be able to play a game where player responses are actually voiced by the player and the AI reacts to key words in the player's response! It would be the most awesome and infinitely re-playable RPG EVER!
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Recognition with full speech capability.
I'm not convinced that what your suggesting is even really possible right now. I know you can get text-to-speech software which works fine as an aid for someone who is mute for example. For this to work as an actual game mechanic it would also have to use the correct inflections, tone of voice, volume and the characters would have to be animated to match. In effect it has to do the job of a voice actor and an AI just isn't smart enough to do that! The only other option would be to get the voice actors to record thousands upon thousands of hours dialog for each conceivable name which is far beyond the realms of practicality.

One of the best movie based on a video game. Which is actually surprisingly easy to do since the game is just about you being an immigration officer with a lot of stuff that happens which will be a good watch in a film. And this film does a great job at capturing what's in the game. Bravo! Sad that in this film Elisa's denied entry. I always let her in.

Have you tried the Oblivion Character Overhaul. It fixes it up well enough for me. However, I do not expect Skyblivion to have potato faces because, as I said, the ENTIRE game is being redesigned by hand. This includes all textures and meshes for the game.
Crazycrab liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in Videogames: The superior Story Adaptor?
If handled right. Lately most of the AAA developers have focused less on good storytelling and more on mass market.
But that's not to say they don't try.
Last year we got Horizon Zero Dawn, which was fantastic from beginning to end! Even the side quests were interesting and made me want to explore and find out more about this strange new world after the fall of civilization.
Aaaaaand then there's Overwatch.
Millions spent on marketing and creating this rich environment with interesting (looking) characters...and the game itself is nothing but a moba arena shooter that does little to expand on it. It irks me every time I hear fans go on about Tracer's "backstory" when the only way to learn it is supplement materials that aren't a part of the game itself. Such a waste of the medium.
Rojo_The_Great liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in Skyblivion
Been playing a lot of Skyrim lately. The only thing keeping me from going back to Oblivion is the potato face characters...even with mods. (although it's been a while since I hunted Oblivion mods, maybe somebody fixed that?)

Stumbled upon this during a google search on the latest Tomb Raider game. Just watch and prepare to just die of nostalgia.
Here is the link to the Youtube video showing gameplay footage of first level of TR2: Dagger of Xian
and here's the amazing part, it's Fanmade in Unreal4, led by one guy and a small team of talented, devoted fans who contribute.
Here is a link to his website. And you can download the demo from here too.
Watching this the first thing that struck me, was something I had forgotten, what Exploration truly means is this... no waypoints, no prompts, no rails.
I remember playing this the first time (and TR2 was my first TR game).
You are dumped next to the great wall of china, with barely any expository cutscene, just enough to tell you you are at the Great Wall,
you have a pair of guns, shotgun, Lara's journal, and that's it. The small manual in the CD jewel case gave a bit more lore/backstory, but more than that,
YOU had to find.
Let's support these guys and get the whole thing remade.

Yes. Yes we do. And like I said: doesn't matter what her lineage is. I want to see her bring Kylo DOWN in the next film.
As for a good reaction shot..... how about:
Basically saying "fuck all the theories, we all lost. Let's just roll with it and go nuts!"
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Doctor in The Making of Tex Murphy - Full Documentary
Big Finish Games made a documentary about Tex Murphy series. A great game series which hopefully will keep its style and have a long and bright future.
Unfortunately their last game never got a Linux-version because of middleware problems. That's the risk one has to take when they pledge crowdfunding project.
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in PAX Australia 2017: games to look forward to in the future.
Come man! Australia is always open to visitors. Though I recommend Goldcoast and Melbourne because Goldcoast has a lot of fun attractions + Warner Brother's Movie World with all the DC + Movie stuff. And Melbourne's the place I live in. Outside of those, New Zealand is REALLY good. I recommend the southern New Zealand. Especially a town there named Queenstown. The scenery is absolutely amazing.
We all miss Steve Irwin. Still can't believe he died because of a stupid Stingray tail. FUCK YOU FISH!
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Cyborg-Rox in What game do you think leaves the worst impact to other games afterward?
Half-Life 2: Episode 2.
Why? Because no single game after that was Episode 3
smuniz83 liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in Belgium rules that loot boxes IS GAMBLING!!!
Ok, just my two cents worth...
While I absolutely HATE this whole loot box band wagon that major AAA game developers have jumped on...getting the government involved is a VERY bad idea in the long run. One thing I love about AJSA is we have something of an unspoken rule to keep discussions on politics brief and civil if they pop up at all. But this is an area where I think there is massive potential for it to spin out of control. Personally I am very suspicious whenever the government is eager to "help". Usually its a pretext for them to get their grubby hands on it so they can regulate the hell out of it. I'm sure some of our Australian members could share some horror stories on the regulation of violent video games and what a mixed bag it is.
As the old saying goes: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Crazycrab liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in COD WW2 Angry Review.
Jokes aside...why can't we see our feet yet in FPS games? The old "less to render" argument is moot with todays engines and gaming systems and I know for a fact that almost all the Fallout/Elder Scolls games have mods to give you a first person body and they are generally well received (still waiting for a Fallout 4 one).
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Crazycrab in Star Wars the Last Jedi latest trailer.
Well..... I can think one thing lamer, a Virgin birth!!!!!!
In all seriousness Disney might be a pretty shrewd moneymaking corporation but their really no worse than Lucas! More importantly there's no way that the current creative team would be that stupid. If Rey was a descendent of Anakin Skywalker it's obvious that Leia and/or Han would know, but as far can tell neither of them seemed to have a clue. There's no way it could be a child of Luke while he was in exile either because she isn't that much younger than Ren so the timeline just doesn't add up.
PlasticFrogCG liked a post in a topic by Kaz32 in Star Wars the Last Jedi latest trailer.
Fixed it a bit.
All we can do now is wait for the film's release for the confirmation. Maybe she's a Sith descendant, maybe she's a Skywalker, maybe none of the above. Speculations can only get so far before the official answer is given.
But we know one thing: doesn't matter what her lineage is. She's going to bring down Kylo + Snoke down with her force power. And I want to see her wreck shit up.
skorgezagreat liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in how I feel about destiny 2's release
Same here. It looked very cool, but once I discovered that you actually had to leave the game and go to the Destiny website (with a registered account) just to view the background files you unlocked when exploring really killed all my interest in the game. Would it really have been that hard to include the world-building information in an in-game database like Mass Effect???
Beyond that gripe, I found the game itself to be very generic even if the setting was mildly interesting.

The bills man, THE BILLS!
They recommended me, my mom, my 2 sisters and their boyfriends full 3 course meal: entree, main and desert. I only pick entree and main because we don't want the overpriced $50 cakes. Then we look at the bills for all of us..............
So a meal for 6 with only entree and main course = $600. You can buy 2 PS4s with that. And the portions are so small, that we took free complementary butter bread sticks twice.
And afterwards we are still not full, so we got ourselves McDonalds. FUCK YOU OVERPRICED MEAL!!
QwiK liked a post in a topic by PlasticFrogCG in So, uh...I wrote a book
Beyond that I'm hesitant to say more without moderator approval.
But yeah, I wrote a sci-fi action adventure book. Unfortunately it is currently only available in US and Canada because I really don't know enough about foreign markets yet.
I guess I'm actually asking if anyone here has ever tried to sell a product and can provide some tips. Or maybe we have some closet storytellers here and they've been holding out on us!
