    ARK
Ark is a first person/third person survival game. Much is the style of rust or reign of kings. As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing & starving on a mysterious island, you must hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops, & build shelters to survive. Use skill and cunning to kill or tame & ride the Dinosaurs & primeval creatures roaming the land, & team up with hundreds of players or play locally!
Ark is a huge game, in terms of geographical space, scope of content, features, technology, and just about every other metric.
Ark is a survival game that plays into the same senses of wonder that Jurassic Park did in the theaters. This survival game manages to be gorgeous and fun.

    PROS
    + Dinosaurs
+ HUGE map that looks and feels massive
    + User-friendly controls
+ Simple crafting (its so easy even an idiot like me figured it out.
    + Dinosaurs
+ Leveling up, you level up and get new abilities to craft things. This game is best enjoyed with friends because it takes a village to build a village.
+ Both pve and pvp things to do.
+ Did I mention you can ride those Dinosaurs

    CONS
    - Optimization: Needs a lot of work. This game is a HOG. (The developers have said that this is one of their priorities).
    - Not enough servers for the gaming population
    - Load screen errors
    - The volume mixer. The game turns down your team speak volume and you need to go into your sound mixer to fix this EVERYTIME you load.
    - There will be griefers in this game so expect it.
    - Raptors (not really a negative but they are dicks)
    - Admins have to watch the game closely as updates come fast and often.

This was expected. It was not going to be a well optimized game at the beginning. But a well and strong community for it to grow on. So things are going to pick up fast and changes are going to be made. People are both going to be happy and pissed off, but the sturdy groups (AJSA and plenty more)  going to stay and be passionate about this game and have fun.

    Hello everyone,

today I have some great news for all of you Star Citizen fans: Recruitment for the AJSA Organisation is now open!

If you want to join us for the Dogfighting Module, reply to this thread with your SC handle. We will then invite you through the organisations system as soon as we can to make sure you're all set to join us for some fun pew pew in DFM!

You can now send invites to the org so send us a application to join the organisation and we can do that as well still post in the thread

Once you're done with that, there are a few other things you can do while waiting - enlist your ship in our fleet composition thread, share your suggestions and ideas on the general preparation thread or join the discussions in the SC subforums.

For those of you who do not yet know me, I joined the initial AJA outfit on Planetside 2 in 2012 and have since been made an officer for that game. Since I'm pretty far into the endgame over there though, I have decided to transfer to Star Citizen to support Mort in the preparations and in anticipation of the impending DFM release. Looking forward to seeing you guys in game later (hopefully) this month!
Side effects of being around me for too long include, but are not limited to, slight but permanent feelings of dread discomfort, getting banned yelled at, and/or developing various disturbing, violent  or autodestructive habits.
  9. Sethox liked a post in a topic by Eiousx in Suggestion for 4x event.
I would like to suggest a weekly 2-3 hour event where we can either play 4 x titles like Endless Legend as a large scale map with many player slots. Of course this can also be applied to turn based games such as Civilization 5 or Civilization Beyond Earth as well as any like titles.
The only rules would be a set turn limit before combat but alliances are not limited at all. I think this would be a great event that we can create to be run weekly to get the community involved.
Now if someone isn't able to show then another person can jump into that slot. We would keep going every week using the same save file until a win. With the game officer in charge of the event holding onto that save file for that particular game.
We can do this event in addition to any other strategy game event the community may have. Please consider this idea and offer any suggestions of your own.

I kind of feel like there should be an application in place in this webpage/forum for this to come-to efficiently. So veteran members can queue themselves into what they want to join for. Like a blank post where the council puts official/unofficial games to try or take an extra care for. And this application players fill have specific questions that the council can edit/chance/renew in place at anytime.

Maybe this is already in place, maybe I should shut the eff up.. regardless it's a suggestion and thank you for this Q&A.

Make an app about Angry Joe, and make it free for this community only. And MAYBE Angry Joe plays it and makes a (Badass) seal of approval. Angry Joe got contacts, so even if it sucks that you've done something for free.. you still want contacts to get your skills out in the market. The App store is huge and you get overshadowed if not the proper people backing you up.

Hello there SC fans, over the past couple of weeks there have been some shifts and changes in the background that I will be telling you guys about here.

    Change in leadership
Effective immediately, Commander DamionRayne will be taking charge of Star Citizen as Mortraven is unable to at this point in time. He has been the leader of War Thunder for a year and is a veteran EVE Online player.
I will be staying with Star Citizen as Damions Chief Advisor* and more staff members will likely be appointed over the coming months.
*Actual title pending, some suggestions are "God among men" and "Sacred Supreme High Secretary for super important stuff"

    Changes in policy
There will be a number of additions and alterations to the usual AJSA guild proceedings with the Star Citizen guild. These also include general policies like the prioritization of guild branches, organizational changes, fleet doctrine and more. We'll be building up our final guild structure from here on out; any feedback is appreciated!

There will be a full post on the plan so far including specifics, which will take into account what I've been discussing with you guys over the past few months. If you would like to get more involved in these planning stages, feel free to take a look at what info is already available on these subforums and see if you can make up your mind on what your general style of play is going to be like (as if you haven't already...)- there more we know, the better we can tailor our guild structure to you guys' needs.

As a personal note from Damion, please know that he'll be here for you now and that we're moving forward from here on out!

Right, quite a few questions about this so I'll make a more central one. Really just to see what the majority is interested in.

Ok, to those who have no clue what I mean with the poll, I'll do a quick explanation.
    Original post: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13418-All-About-Organizations

Corporations: Just like it sounds, A group that is more dedicated to the market/economy.
PMC(Private Military): A militaristic focused group, Guarding, policing etc.
Faith: Religious group... or a group under one specific belief. (All hail lord joe, god of gamers )
Syndicate: Shady type group, working in the grey zone or absolutely lawbreaking. (smuggling, pirating etc...)
Organization: A group that doesn't want to make itself tied to any specific agenda...

When the organizations is implemented(end of the month, beginning of January) We will be able to do a multitude of actions. From recruiting, having our own chat, making a rank system(really just using the AJSA system) in the RSI website. All of this will transfer into the game when it is launched.

  21. Sol Omega liked a post in a topic by Sethox in are Kirito and Asuna from SAO a bad couple?
In all honesty, the anime lost it's story after the first season. When Asuna and Kirito had their wedding and couple in that cabin moment (when they literally had their imaginary child). It was supposed to be sentimental but it ruined the story as a whole. It was too slow of a pace and too much of nothing and it was for one little story plot, the admin-child.
In my opinion what made Swords arts online great was the premise of the vulnerable moment when people got trapped, it went from a modern anime to a stuck fantasy anime, the transition was great and interesting. The main villain was mysterious and felt like it tried to teach you something (my interpretation was, don't take life for granted). But some moments felt like the transition between a light novel and anime went terribly wrong, too slow of a pace and too much emotions shown in one scene (it went from adventure and action to shojo scenes). In glare of all things considered, their lives changed raptly and had to change their ways, some lived peacefully while the young fought for their lives to "finish" the game.
The Main concept was the mental instability of the rapid change that was interesting, the feeling you had for this anime was the interesting psychological stress everyone gained now that the game became serious. Throughout the game no matter how much time people spent surviving, people still couldn't get beyond the thought of dying. But everything changed when love was in the air, everyone knows that love brings problems and very little solutions. Love would have been good in this anime if only it was shown in it's adventure and not in it's clear form of just loving each other, it always come back to the marriage moment. It pisses me off because it breaks all pace of the anime.
Survival was the premise of the anime (in my opinion), not to find someone to love. Love just happens in time, so together with your loved ones you try to go through the hardships socially and emotionally to get rid of what was already emotionally and psychologically put on the stuck players.
So to go on topic with this post, I would say. The couple at hand is the worst of it's kind, the individuals was awesome and strong but together they created a bond that had nothing to build upon (no problems as a couple, perfect couples are boring).
  22. Sethox liked a post in a topic by Behr in What books should I buy?
The Sword of Truth is a good fantasy/medieval-esque series.
Halo novels are good if you want sci-fi/wartime or if you like Halo.
Divine Comedy is very good if you want something about the afterlife or just 700 years old.
Discourse on Method and the Meditations is good if you want philosophy.
Johnathan Livingston Seagull if you want something with indirect religious meanings (Christian)
Everything from Edgar Allen Poe if you want macabre/dark stories (<I recommend this the most)

First, Have you read the old classics.. you know the pure literature kind of books. Even if you haven't read those you should.
Second, are you really out of books to read or you just cannot be arsed to look?
Third, I am no book guy but I know there are too many books to look for in every upsidedown, invented, universe, dimension, genre.
Regardless, I am not being condescending or anything. I just want to know if you are serious or not into getting into new books.
Sorry if I did offend anyone.

  25. fuzzypanda liked a post in a topic by Sethox in Recruting people & inform them
So the recruiting process has gone all fine and it's actually making the guild bigger in small doses, not bad at all. We have more active players now.

So we survived a close call of death, but we also need to inform the recruits to also either join this forum and/or go into teamspeak and that it doesn't matter that they have no microphone. The active people are on teamspeak the faster the message can be reached on the person itself (at least in my opinion).

I admit, I should see visit this forum more but I get all the information from word of mouth and if I need more extensive information (the source) I know where to find it (this forum... duh). I am on teamspeak all the time so information does come through (to me) when needed.
I always come out rude when I tell the recruits to come to the forums but we got to make a habit to bring everyone in here.

Still keep up the recruiting wave, also nice job on recruiting the people we want (the polite and respectful kind).
