Please forgive the way I had to seperate my points in this topic. The forum frankly is not set right for making properly formatted posts and I hope they change that. Also what I say here is my own opinion. I am not part of the staff of AJSA nor intend to be.

A long time ago I got into my first PC FPS. That was Half Life. The computer was underpowered. I had but a 56k modem. And with no onboard GPU I had to rely on Software mode. The best servers were always the dedicated ones. And you looked for the little Linux penguin to know it was better than others. Dedicated servers were king. And the numbers showed it. Most of us have similar experiences. We all want to play on a dedicated server with low ping, high numbers, and the gamemode we want. That is normal as is the want to proudly have AJSA in the name. However, the reality is dedicated servers were then and always will be expensive. And yes I mean a properly run dedicated server at a proper host run by professionals running many at once. Not a second computer at a house that can go down when a dog chews the Ethernet cable. Yes, it gets worse. Those servers require AJSA staff involvement. Especially if a server involves permanent actions (Such as DayZ) The staff also will have to deal with spammers, cheaters, hackers, etc... Oh it gets even worse. Many AJSA are from places outside good ole 'merica and connecting to a US server means high ping for them. So potentially that means they need their own server. What it boils down to is that it has to be worth it. An official server has to have the numbers to warrant the cost. And those numbers have to be represented by many AJSA otherwise AJSA is just paying for another server for those not part of the group to play on.
Just keep this in mind when you say "WE MUST HAVE DIS SERVER NAO!!!1" Most groups get off lucky as they only have to worry about a single game or region with a few games. the AJSA must be global and the decisions made on servers have to be the best for the AJSA in my opinion. However, that does not limit AJSA members from playing on other servers and using the AJSA teamspeak.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW.

It is far too broken to be playable, you will lose a lot of progress and gain high blood pressure from frustration.

I am a *huge* fan of the X series, since the beginning, but this game is NOT playable in the current state that it is in. Knowing egosoft this will take a few months to fix.

I filed for my refund on steam.

Very few would be willing to actually spend over a THOUSAND USD on an IN GAME vessel if this were a publisher game that would surely be rushed out. This really does show the power of crowdfunding.

They are mad that Joe has not made some crazy BF4 review that anyone could guess is going to get an 8+ out of ten from him. Yes his video content has been way down but to claim that the AJSA is a money making scam is just stupid as hell.

The ads on his reviews is what pays his bills. If he was in it for the money. Why would he not focus exclusively on getting video after video out?

When I played EVE Online (Before CCP decided to go on their crazed series of changes) my Corp CEO was female. My alliance leader was female. I had ZERO issue with either of them and I treated them the exact same way I treat male players. With respect and professionalism.
Sadly with other games I have seen quite a lot of sexism. In one particular case I remember a friend watching us play GTA 4 online. She asked to speak into the headset to respond to someone's comment and at once she was met with "Hey baby A/S/L?, GTFO bitch, etc.." She thought it was funny. I was frankly disgusted by the conduct of the players.
The stereotype of the "Girl Gamer" being someone desperate for attention is exactly that. A worthless and untrue stereotype. When I flew Incursions the female pilot of the Legion I was providing remote repair wasn't broadcasting for repair because she wanted attention. She broadcasted because without that repair her 4 billion isk incursion ship would have been destroyed.
Tho that pales compared to the womanizing going on. Treating female gamers as sex objects needs to stop. Women are not playing video games to be the object of other player's fantasy or delusion. They are playing video games to have fun just like male gamers.
So as a male let me say that I fully believe in equality, respect, and professionalism.
