"The world’s largest video game collection is on sale. The record is recognized by Guinness World Records. Over 11,000 games are ready for purchase with the current bid sitting at $50,000. Guinnss did not count duplicates, so every game is unique with no repeats. Bidding will end in 9 days.

Michael Thomasson, the owner of the collection, is selling due to family issues. He said “I’m also including the actual Guinness Certificate”. Along with that winner will also receive a lifetime subscription to Retro Magazine, including all back issues and an autographed copy of the premiere issue that features this very collection. Welcome to the Angry Army Guild!

If you're new to the guild and feel a little bit lost in the forums, you have come to the right place!

We are based in Northern Shiverpeaks, which is a US server.  If you would like to get an invite to this guild, please make a post here.

We have a newly established guild in Seafarer's Rest, which is an EU server.  If you would like to get an invite to this guild, please make a post here.

    General rules (link):
There are quite a few rules that have been made since the resurrection of the guild earlier this year.  Please take a bit of time to read over them.  The most important ones are:
    - It is mandatory to represent in-game.  Make sure you represent once you're in the guild.  Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis by pm'ing the veterans, sergeants or myself so we can make a note of it.  At the very least, 25% of rep time has to be Angry Army.
    - Members who do not log in for more than 1 month will be kicked from the guild unless they pm any veterans/sargeants/officer to notify them about their absence.  This is done to make space for new guild members.  If you come back and find out that you were kicked, you can re-apply.
    - It is highly encouraged that you sign up on the forums as we use it to coordinate a lot of our events.  We also have a dedicated channel on the AJSA Teamspeak server.  Details on how to join TS are found here.

    Introducing the staff members:
The following is a list of the staff and the parts of the game they're familiar with.  If you need to get in touch with them, you can either PM them here over the forums, or chat/talk with them over Teamspeak.

    NA Guild:
Veterans - First line of support.  If you need help with anything guild-related, or even something like a dungeon run, these are the guys to speak to first.
AimedZero: PvP, Dungeons and jumping puzzles.
Forsakenpanda: WvW, crafting, CoF, Elementalist/Engineer/Necromancer classes
Treeps: PvE - Living story quests, map completion, jump puzzles and crafting.

Sergeants - 2nd line of support.  Like the veterans, they can help you if none of the veterans are around.
EddieJames55: All dungeons and their routes, most builds and crafting.
    jebby: PvE/WvW and fractals.
Toriko: PvE/WvW, Ascalonian Catacombs/CoF dungeons, crafting, familiar with ranger and mesmer classes.

Officers - Like both veterans and sergeants, they can help you if none of the sergeants or veterans are around.  They are mainly responsible for organizing events and are also the link between the guild and the higher AJSA command.
Ysnar: I can help with PvE/exploration, guardian/necro/warrior/ele builds, crafting and arranging events.

    EU Guild:
    Veterans:
LePheenix: PvE, Ascalonian Catacombs, Caudecus' Manor, early fractals and WvW.

    Sergeants:
Mladenius Maximus: WvW, crafting and most dungeons.
Ana aka Vaylor: Long-time WvW veteran, experienced with the thief and WvW-centric guardian class, world bosses.

    Officers:
okito: PvE, WvW, crafting and the ranger class.

Selection criteria for advancement in rank can be found in the rules.

    Forum orientation:
We have a news section, hints and tips section, WvW ops/discussion section and an events section in addition to the general GW2 forum.

    Events:
We run the following events for Northern Shiverpeaks/NA server:
    - Weekly guild mission - every Saturday at 8pm server time in the First Haven Waypoint in Gendarran Fields.  We start with the guild events like bounty, rush, challenge and once we're done with them, we then proceed to help out in WvW.

We run the following events for Seafarer's Rest/EU server:
    - Weekly guild mission - every Saturday at 12:45 pm server time in the First Haven Waypoint in Gendarran Fields.  We start with the guild events like bounty, rush, challenge and once we're done with them, we then proceed to help out in WvW.

    - Weekly exotic item raffle - Rules and instructions on how to participate are also in the link. Now available for both EU and NA guilds.
    - We also have an in-game donation system in place for those who would like to help the guild.  Please check this link for more details.
    - Bi-weekly fashion contest - Please check the event forum for the latest round of the contest - Currently suspended until further notice.

If you think that you have the time and commitment to hold your own event on a regular basis (like a map zerg, dungeon/fractal run, PvP matches etc), please pm any one of the veterans, sergeants or myself so we can make arrangements/announcements.

    Suggestions:
    - If you have any suggestions, ideas or problem you'd like to discuss regarding the guild or its activities, don't hesitate to make a thread about it on the forum.  Alternatively, you could pm any one of the veterans, sergeants or myself.

Fellow guild members! After a tumultuous and hectic start to the guild, we think its about time that we put down some rules and get some things organized.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding guild members on NA (Northern Shiverpeaks) and EU (Seafarer's Rest) servers:
    - It is recommended to have a forum account as we will coordinate all of our events from here.
    - It is mandatory to represent in-game.  If a member is found not to represent, they will be sent a whisper and if there is no reply, then they are kicked from the guild.  Afterwards, you can re-apply if you're committed to represent the guild.  Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis (like Havok squad in WvW) by pm'ing the veterans, sergeants or myself so we can make a note of it.  At the very least, 25% of rep time has to be Angry Army.

Requirements for promotion to veteran rank:
         -Must have a forum account
-Regular use of Teamspeak ( this is preferred but not required)
-Need to participate in guild events/dungeon runs/WvW sorties
-Demonstrate knowledge/competence in aspect(s) of the game e.g. PvE, PvP, WvW, crafting
-Be a member of good standing with fellow guild members

    Regarding activity levels:
Members who do not log in for more than 1 month will be kicked from the guild unless they pm any veterans/sargeants/officer to notify them about their absence.  This is done to make space for new guild members.  If you come back and find out that you were kicked, you can re-apply.

Rules for raffle contests: (on hold for now)
    1. All participants have to be members of this forum and the guild.
    2. If the raffle is an exotic, then it will cost 20 silver per entry.  Alternatively, we would sometimes raffle 3 random rares (level 76-80) with an entry fee of 30 silver.
    3. Maximum of 2 raffle entries per person.
    4. The raffle money should be mailed to me in-game (account name is Gingook.2971) so I can update a google spreadsheet for all to see and to keep track of who has paid (link for that will be posted here), I will then forward all proceeds to the guild bank.
    5. You can withdraw your entry money at anytime before Thursday (2 days before the draw), just make sure you pm me or your fellow sergeants/veterans on the forums or in-game.
    6. This site will be used to choose the winner... who will be announced before the guild mission.

    Rules for donations:
    - Money donations should be placed in the lowest bank section.  Item donations can be placed in the lower 2 sections of the guild bank, the treasure trove and deep cave... not the first section.
    - Once a donation is made, the donor needs to take a screenshot of the bank log containing the transaction and new guild bank fund (or bank inventory if its an item donation).  The donor must then contact a veteran, sergeant or officer via forum pm or TS to get it verified within 5 days of the donation.
    - Entries to the raffle contest are also counted as donations.
    - In addition to gold, donations can be made with specific items, which include
       - Tier 5 or tier 6 common crafting materials
       - Tier 5 or tier 6 fine crafting materials, includes karka shells and watchwork sprokets
       - Tier 5 rare crafting materials, includes sun bead, large skull, giant eye, mystic coin, pristine toxic spore sample, watchwork mechanism and glob of ectoplasm
       - Ascended materials such as deldrimor steel ingot, xunlai electrum ingot, spiritwood plank, elonian leather square and bolt of damask
       - Tier 5 or tier 6 gemstones, includes passion flower
       - Mixed chef ingredients (list of these is below the basic ingredients)
       - All festive materials, includes snowflakes of all tiers, pieces of candy corn, skulls, nougat centers, plastic fangs and pieces of zhaitaffy
       - All doubloons, includes copper, silver, gold and platinum doubloons
       - Level 75-80 rare weapons/armor
       - Exotic weapons/armor
       - Exotic runes/sigils (upgrade components) ( must be worth 5s or more each)
       - 15/18/20 slot bags or their corresponing runes of holding i.e. major, greater and superior runes of holding
***For item donations, the trading post price of the item(s) (specifically, the highest buy order) at the time of verification will be added as the donation.

    - Once the item/money donation is verified, the amount will be recorded under their name in a google spreadsheet document.

Our budget will be used for the following:
    - Commander tags for veterans/sergeants that display promise and competence in PvE and/or WvW
    - Fund the guilds very own PvP server (costs 2 gold a day to maintain)
    - Fund the fashion contest (and other future contests)
    - Purchase and upgrade WvW siege weapons (make alpha -> omega golems)
    - Some of the exotics will be used in future raffles or PvP tournament prizes
    - Consumables e.g. Sharpening stones, omnomberry bars, maintenance oils
    - Buy more influence if we run low on it and need guild upgrades
    - If the budget permits, we will do giveaways for guild members on a first come, first serve basis (there will be a specified quota for each member).  The quality of the items will improve as the guild budget increases i.e. initially 10-15 slot bags that will be crafted and sent out.  We might then progress to upgrade components, weapons/armor and we might even establish a mats-on-demand system once our funds are sufficient.

    Welcome to GW2!

As a fellow member who has dumped 3k+ hours into the game, I'd like to tell you that my experience in the beginning was very similar, but for me, it was my first MMO.  When I joined a guild (before the AJSA), they showed me the ropes, taught me all about the different types of stats, gear, skills and classes while we levelled up.  If there's one thing that I can identify as unique in GW2, its the community.  While you do get some bad apples (particularly in the PvP scene), the majority of my interactions with the player base was very pleasant, people are usually happy to give advice and even some mats/gold if you ask nicely.

In your case, I advise that you join a guild, such as the AJSA EU guild, especially one that has TS.  If you strike up a conversation with them in guild chat/TS, you'd get a much clearer impression of GW2.

Secondly, you need to keep in mind that the trinity does not exist in this game... the nature of gameplay is also different... for instance, damage absorption isn't such a priority as is dodging, using obstacles/walls to evade and timing of skills/combos.

The other thing I'd like to point out is that you most likely picked the elementalist class.  That class is mostly used as a glass cannon and can be difficult to master if you aren't familiar with GW2 gameplay.  I suggest that you start with a different class, such as the warrior or guardian... however, if you feel lucky, then I suggest you try out the engineer, I had a LOT of fun with that class and its a blast to play that class on PvP.

Furthermore, the game showers you with xp for exploring and crafting as well.  I can lvl up 5-7 levels by just exploring a small part of each racial starting area.  You also gain about 7 levels for each crafting discipline you master (reach lvl 400/500).

Bruh, I got one problem with this game (GW2). It is waaaaay to easy. The endgame for PvE is kinda non-existent, so you will probably spend most of your time doing WvW or PvP.  Also, this game is kinda based on the philosophy that it's the journey that's important, not the goal. You can do most of the end-game stuff when you are at level 30 and the only restrictions are gear which is really easy to get (Just go for Exotic's if you don't want to spend time getting gear. Get Ascended gear if you like getting the best gear). PvP in short is heaven. It is probably the best PvP experience I have had in any MMO (I've played a lot of MMO's). There are two modes for PvP, Conquest and Deathmatch. Conquest is what you probably want. Deathmatch is kinda stupid in my opinion and is only there because Call of Duty fanboys were complaining. In Conquest you capture nodes. Each node will give your team points periodically. Killing enemies will also give you points. There are a couple of maps (the Battle of Kyhlo being the most popular). Some of the maps also have secondary objectives that can influence the game, but the nodes are the most important objectives. For the expansion Heart of Thorns, thy are adding another PvP mode called Stronghold. This takes a bit of influence from MOBA's. Here is a link to find more info on it (PvP). WvW is a three way fight between servers to conquer objectives (towers, supply depots, etc.). While you hold these objectives you gain points periodically. It is actually kind of fun, but if you play on a toaster you can get fps drops. Here is a link for more info (WvW). There will be many changes to it when the expansion releases. for more info look at this (HoT, WvW). PvE in short can be boring. When you first do the dungeons, they might be hard but they will get really easy. When the expansion drops, we will get another region of the world called the Maguma Jungle and maybe hard core content!!! Right now the only time I really play PvP is if I want to do Fractals or for the Living World. The lore and story for this game is actually good. In short GW2 tries to innovate in many areas, but sometimes it just fucks up. WvW and PvP are worth checking out. And if you really feel like doing PvE, don't do the Personal Story, it is a piece of shit. Only do it if you want to familiarize yourself with the characters as some of them actually play an important role for the living world.
    Hope this helped!

Seeing Joe's angry review, and hearing the praise for this game, I decided to take a risk and buy it. Well the "risk" was not that great cause I only spend 10 bucks. Anyways, being fond of mages and such, I decided to go for a mage first. The classes looked interesting enough. After I finished the tutorial, I can say that I was very confused regarding the first missions. Going and helping certain people and whatsoever.  Nevertheless I understood that the game wanted to take a different perspective on the usual go there kill that fetch me items.

However what made me question its guts was the fact that the game felt lifeless. Sure I participated in some random events like escorting a caravan or so, but other than that, I didn't see that many players. Coming from WoW I was of course in search for some low level dungeons in order to level up faster, meet some people etc. Turns out I need to be like 30 in order to participate in dungeons. Ooookay... yeah cool.

All in all the game looks, decent I guess but it gave me the impression of another copy paste generic mmorpg. So far I have sinked a lot of hours into WoW and some couple of hours in to tera and rift. Whereas they seemed pretty decent gw2 seemed more like a snooze fest. Now I know, I know I only got to level 10 or 11, no guild and so. That's why in fact I decided to open this topic, to ask you guys if the game gets better. Any dungeons? How is the endgame? How is the pvp? Are like the first levels boring just like in WoW?

I know that the AJSA is a pretty big community on gw2, and again seeing the praise that the game got both for the reviewers and communities such as reddit, made me think that maybe I misjudged gw2.

If you mean general activity on the forums then it's because mainly everyone hangs out in the General Section. There is also a few threads in the PC Gaming sub-forums from time to time, but in general console and PC guys and gals are active on forums, just in other parts of it.

If you mean Teamspeak 3, well that's kind of complicated. Lots of people don't come to TS3 unless there is a reason or they are playing a game that AJSA supports and then they join. Lot of them are maybe shy and don't come unless invited or they see an empty room and they don't go in because it's empty, but point is that's how more people start coming.
For some games, although many members are part of AJSA, still many of them have real life or more friends outside of AJSA that they want to spend a lot of time with. That's a big thing in MOBA and League where I play. Hard to get all members together since they either don't play the game or play with their friends, and with the game supporting only 4 other people in the team (including you), then you can't join them.

I noticed in MMOs like in GW2, the guild is active in game like the chat and stuff but they come on TS3 mainly on major events, but there are always a few even when nothing is happening. So it really depends on the game. AJSA on PC is more popular than you think, it's just that TS3 is mostly quiet.

I was very curious about how ESO has changed since it was released... especially when its going to drop its subs along with Wildstar.  Also, have you tried GW2?

The Witcher would be one of the only series where your choices matter both in terms of what happens to places or people but also can heavily effect what you are doing and where you are going not just at the end but throughout the game.

Then there are games like Alpha Protocol, Fallout, Wasteland, where your actions won't really change much of how the overall story plays out or where you go (except for maybe at the very end) but you can get unexpected results with characters and places and how those people and things change during the game or after. How you play Dishonored also has a big impact on the setting and how characters treat you but you are still going to the same place with the same objectives. There are certain changes throughout the Deus Ex games depending on things you say or when/if you kill certain people early but nothing really important plot wise until the end. In Planescape Torment your alignment shifts depending on the actions you take and the things you say.

Then there's the games that give illusion of choice or pretend that your choices matter but they really don't like in Telltales games, LA Noire, David Cage games, or the Mass Effect/Dragon Age series. A small change if someone dies early or a line of dialogue to show you the game remembers something you did but nothing beyond that, even when it comes to the games endings.

At least they are 1) Being honest about it, 2) Treating each system as unique. I'm sure there are actual reasons for it being capped on Console, if for nothing else than to prevent any frame stuttering at all.
Not many games have really achieved 60 FPS on console. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, GTA V, CoD:AW... And there may be one or two more.

    For me it would be
Alpha protocol and Dragon Age Origins.
The amount of choice in these games were amazing to me. Actually felt like I was in control of the story and its direction.
    Whats yours?

Good reason to get it on PC I suppose. If you own one that is.
