Thread necromancy is not really a nice thing to partake in, equal to heresy I would say.

Nope, those dirty shameless money grubbers will get none of my money. It's too late for that, too late.

I mean there is no question, no logical rebuttal to this point. It is merely fact, as sure as the sun rises in the morning this will always be the greatest game machine on the planet. That's just how the world is.

Everyone knows that the GREATEST GAME MACHINE IN THE PLANET is the
POWER KRACKER!!!!
It says so on the box.

This is microsoft we are talking about here, so really I have no idea. It might, it would make sense that it would. Granted windows 7 losing support is more or less microsoft forcing you to buy windows 8, if you want updates and what windows 7 restricts you from.
Time to learn linux! Amirite? Ah when all games being compatible with linux is a thing I'll be right.

I was about to say that everytime I had a similar problem it was always because windows detected that "dns server not responding".
Not that I know what it means, but if you have thoroughly checked it and tried the "windows solution" then I don't know what to say sorry.

Nice list. At least you wrote why you chose those, I don't have a top list to be honest. I guess the new touhou game would be on there, and maybe heartstone or something? Bleh I dunno. Path of exile? Don't think that was released this year... it's hard D:
I hardly see the point in locking this though ;3 999 posts ftw!

Well first of all I cannot relate to it like you do, because I am young, I still love this hobby, I have many friends, and what constitutes as nostalgia for me is playing Touhou for the first time.
Still, we all grow up. I have less time now than I did before for video games, and online communities (Look, dota 2) have sapped all energy I have for certain games. I miss the days when games were really immersive to me though, those are long gone. But tell me, as part of this community, why don't you find someone who wants to play with you (go on teamspeak for example), and you know, play with them! Video games are all about having fun, at least for most people, and if playing with someone is what it will take for you to feel exited about playing games then please try to do so. If you can't have fun with them, if they have no positive influence on your life and if all they do is make you feel sad or tired then why play at all?
If you feel you have no energy for video games once you come home from work, examine it, is this because video games serve to stress you more than they serve to make you feel good playing them? You can never be too old for video games, and don't think about what anyone else thinks about you playing a certain game, or playing on consoles, or whatever. You aren't too late for the 7th gen, because so many good games have been released on those systems! I mean come on, its cheaper and better than ever, why not jump on now, and rather wait for the xbox one and ps4 to churn out some good games? You should investigate this thoroughly (obscure reference ftw).
All this negativity the internet brings with it, which I am assuming is part of what you are talking about, can be really damaging if you find no way to ignore it or just don't care about it. Sometimes it's justified, sometimes it's not, but it can be very overwhelming and depressing at times reading all the stupid stuff happening sometimes, this goes not only for video games, but life in general. You must find a way to just be able to sit down and enjoy video games, without all the baggage life brings, it's escapism yes, but is there really anything bad about this in moderation?
I dunno maybe I missed your point entirely with my broken english, but hopefully it was of some use... maybe ><
