  1. I've been playing a lot of Blizzard in my spare time as of late. It occurred to me that the profile settings don't have a display option for Battle.net tags. I think the forums would benefit from being able to share each other's IDs given the variety of content Blizzard has released. Think about it: WoW and Diablo are RPGs, and with Legion coming out it might be worth establishing (or re-establishing) a guild. Overwatch is a damn good-looking First Person Shooter that we might want to play with a streamer like Joe or Delrith. Maybe make it an official game. Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA and it looks like we've got an active community in that. StarCraft and Hearthstone are Strategy games. Who knows, maybe we can get a tournament going some day. So I'm making this topic for us to share each other's Battle.nets and what games we all play. I know HotS has a list of their own, but I want this topic to encompass all games and genres Blizzard makes. So we'll just say our accounts and what games we frequent. Like: My ID is AngelAquila#1241 and I play a lot of WoW and Hearthstone When we have more IDs, I'll make a list with each user and what games they play.

  4. After the Uprising Event is over, I'm done with Overwatch for a while. These lootbox drops were absolutely atrocious for me, I got two legendary skins for characters I hardly ever play, but moreover, I tried saving up for the skins I wanted with coins, but with the amount of new sprays and voicelines there were it seems vitually impossible to do so right now. What's more insulting is I did get Legendary Skins - duplicates of the normal ones, even more than the event skins. Now halfway through the event, I realized that Comp gives you more XP so I decided to start doing that instead whilst my Arcade Lootboxes refreshed, but even then, my SR absolutely tanked due to people leaving matches halfway through leaving the rest of us to struggle. Heck, I even came across a Diamond-Ranked Mercy and I thought "Oh cool! A Diamond Rank Healer!" until I realized they were doing the bare minimum not to get kicked from the game, damage buffing from time to time and popping a voiceline every few minutes. Even then, it feels like you are rewarded very little for actually winning a game in Comp whilst punished very harshly for losing. I mean, what's the point in playing competitive when even if you get POTG and you're on the winning team, breaking a losing streak, you only go up like 20 SR? That has been happening to me, I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't downright constant. So to sumarize, my Uprising Event went something along the lines like this; 1. I got skins for characters I never play 2. I couldn't save up coins from duplicates because I stopped getting them, and the ones I did get are not enough to cover it. 3. Tanking my SR in Comp Yeah, needless to say at first I thought Year of the Rooster was bad, but at least there I could at least afford the skins I wanted with the coins I saved up since the skins themselves were reasonably priced, the Non-Legendary ones anyway. I'm not sure if anybody elses experience was as horrible as mine, but I feel very alone on this. I don't have expendable income to spend on microtransactions, and I don't agree with that practice in general, but I feel slightly conned from this event. There was too much content, not enough time to earn it, and those who didn't pay for it feels like were actively punished for doing so despite dropping so many hours into the game and recieving little to nothing. The only thing I can think of to remedy such a thing from happening again is to increase the amount of coins you get from duplicates to maybe make up for the margins. Other than that, I'm done with Overwatch for a very, very long time.

How RimWorld’s Code Defines Strict Gender Roles An interesting look at the game's code and how societal and personal bias can potentially lead to effecting the content of procedurally generated games, either intentionally or unintentionally, made more interesting by the developer's angry reaction in the comment section. The rational part of it being explaining that a part of the system is the way it is due to being in an early state and a problem that was fixed with a recent patch. The rest involves talking about how he came to conclusions based on gay and bisexual people he knows or knew (which would imply that other parts of the code have nothing to do with bugs or an earlier build and saying that fits perfectly with the point of the article), complaining about journalism, saying that they didn't ask him questions then saying they did but he didn't agree to the way they do interviews, not wanting to be interviewed unless he had full editorial control over it (no site or news organization will ever do or agree to this unless they are incompetent or desperate), and calling the article a hit piece (none of the many journalists or developers I saw sharing this did so acting like it was an attack on the dev or saying not to buy the game, at least not until they saw his response which then lead to them looking at past things he's said and done). I didn't see the developer in a negative light from reading the article, as the article is just a natural thing to be expected of almost anyone developing a game like this. Even the developer seems to be saying he overreacted when I last looked. Other content I found interesting this week THE PEWDIEPIE "SCANDAL"!! I noticed that the NicheGamer editor with the "can we hate him now" quote is the same guy who was recently going on a homophobic and transphobic rant about not wanting to support No Man's Sky last week, while also talking about his ban dodging (if anyone wanted to know why I don't use sites like that for the news post, that would mostly be the reason why). That aside, I was worried I linked to some badly written clickbait last week, thankfully I didn't. I read the FCC and Polygon article (which is the one I linked to) which actually just says that he was one of the people paid, Polygon's mention of him just said Which is correct, even PewDiePie says he now puts disclosures in a place where they are immediately visible, they also weren't one of the ones to use his image for their article or even mention him in the headline. You really can't call the Polygon article clickbait when he wasn't even mentioned in the preview part of the article on their homepage. The Verge article being the opposite with him as the first word of the title, his image being attached, saying he is a reviewer, and saying he didn't disclose it. The ones saying he didn't disclose at all, using his picture for the headline, and saying he reviewed it, that would typically be something that I look more into, but he was such a minor inclusion to the FCC and Polygon write up that it didn't even cross my mind to think about him. 8. It took months but I finally got invited to the Beta for Blizz's stress-tests. Rather or not it's worth 60, or 40$ I don't know. I've never played Team FPSes before, but I'm enjoying it. (Mainly playing Mei, Mcgree when need be.) In one game I got the Play of The Game, and It was hilarious. I was dead throughout it, while Blizzard raked havoc. Anyways, if anyone wants to group by battletag is WeLiVeR#1130
  9. Looks like Gameinformer spilled the news before Blizzcon. Overwatch, Blizzards new IP (think TF2) will launch on Xbox, Playstation and PC for $60. My question to you guys and gals, is it worth it? If it is just a multiplayer shooter with no main campaign like Evolve or Titanfall, will you fork out the cash? Does having Blizzard's name stamped on change your opinion of the game as well? Here is the link! http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/11/05/overwatch-is-coming-to-ps4-and-xbox-one-60-all-platforms.aspx
  10. Overwatch Main Site Cinematic Trailer Gameplay Trailer You know, if not for the Gameplay Trailer, I would've thought Blizzard was trying to pull a Disney.
  11. Ok now I'm slightly annoyed at the moment and not many people can see why. Diablo 3 just introduced their "expansion" AKA Reaper of souls. (RoS) Now this game over in the EU costs £30 so I'm guessing thats around $40 - $50 in america and so on and so fourth. At first I thought for an expansion and being blizzard I can understand this game being £30. A bit steep yes but this is blizzard. We were promised alot of things in this latest expansion which haven't exactly been delivered. When me and my two friends put our game key into the battle.net app we expected some kind of download or install right ? Wrong... This is why I want Joe to look into this. I've payed £30 to technically unlock something. Didn't Capcom pull this one and everyone jump down their throats. Why are blizzard suddenly getting a free pass for this shit. PLEASE JOE HELP!?!
  12. So, it seems like Blizzard is reaching over to the MOBA genre now with a quite pretty looking game called Heroes of the Storm, and has already opened up for Beta sign-up at either your Battle.net account or at this website: http://www.heroesofthestorm.com/en-us Going to be really interessting to see if this is going to be as succesfull as Hearthstone, and how they are going to compete against Riot, Valve and all the other MOBA deveoping companies.
  13. I got this game when It first came out and I have to say the Auction House really made this game crap in my opinion. They have Finally taken it away now there's finally a reason to play now you feel like you actually accomplish stuff while playing this game instead of just buying everything needed to be the best. They have changed a lot in this game since the new patch that came out. Game feels more smooth and way more worth wild then it was when it first came out. I would highly recommend this game to anyone right now for the current price there offering at this time $20 for at least 20 hrs+ game play. They added clans and community's now to the game to we currently have 30 members in the AJSA Clan on the game. I really hope this changes peoples view on the game now and are willing to give it a try what are you waiting for lets play some Diablo 3!
  14. I received it today after playing a few games of Hearthstone. While it's not the most beautiful mount out there, I have to say I really appreciate Blizzard doing promotional stuff like this. I always welcome free content.
  15. Today, Blizzard posted a walk-through that details the games current user interface, shop, and progression system. Essentially all the basics we'd need to know regarding the game. I don't know about you guys, but this got me interested.
  16. Greetings, Angry Joe Army! Title of the thread may seem offensive, but, as we say in Russia: "In every joke there is a portion of joke"! As we know (except Blizzard/Diablo 3 fans who just enjoy(ed) the game, there is nothing wrong about it, but I write my own opinion), Blizzard pretty much failed Diablo 3. Now they are going to release an expansion called Reaper of Souls (RoS), which can improve the game, and I'm really excited about it. So this is what we have now: USA preorder: 1) Standart edition = 39.99$ 2) Deluxe edition = 59.99$ 3) Game available (both preorder and release) - 3/25/2014 EU preorder: 1) Standart edition = 39.99€ = ~55$ 2) Deluxe edition = 59.99€ = ~83$ 3) Game available (both preorder and release) - 3/25/2014 For Russia/CIS it seems pretty normal as well: Russia/CIS preorder: 1) Standart edition = 1799 rub = ~56$ 2) Deluxe edition = 2699 rub = ~84$ 3) Game available (preorder only) - 3/25/2014 But now something smelly starts: Russa/CIS release: 1) Standart edition = 899 rub = ~28$ 2) Deluxe edition = 1499 rub = ~47$ 3) Game available (buying in stores) - 4/15/2014 (3 weeks after preorder edition is available for play) Now the questions. Tried to make them in right sequence: - Why can't I preorder RoS for these 28$ to start playing on March instead of waiting for 3 weeks? - Even if there are some delays with RoS shipment (or some other reason), why preorder costs 50% more? (I could understand some price increase in stores because of some shipment taxes and etc., but not the preorder!) - Let's look at it from other side: how it comes, that the game costs 50% less in just 3 weeks? - Why (Let's say europeans) even have to pay these 50% extra without such discount in 3 weeks? - Why do Blizzard split Diablo community by policy called "Pay 50% more or wait 3 weeks more"? (Well, this statement about splitting community is not 100% right, but still because of this policy there will be a noticeable difference) There are adequate answers for each of these questions separately, but for the overall situation I can only make some guesses. Some of them may be false, but I think at least some of them hit the mark: 1) Blizzard want to get as much money as they can, because everyone want to play RoS as early as they can (because even updates like "paragon 2.0", "loot 2.0" are useless without RoS. So without it Diablo 3 is even more dead than before, since everyone are going to swith to RoS either way). 2) There actually can be a discount for EU (and probably US), but Blizzard just don't announce (read guess №1). 3) Blizzard are removing real money auction house from Diablo 3, so they will lose quite large profit. That's why... (guess №1 again). 4) Blizzard are having some problems with servers capacity, so they both get more money from preorders and partially solve this problem (which is unnaceptable if I'm right about this guess, I mean to solve their own problems by limiting our possibilities + even getting more profit). 5) Blizzard are having some problems with shipment to Russia, so they made such a policy to get as much profit from it as they can. 6) Now a positive guess: game will cost 50% less in april because it's kind of an excuse for a 3 months delay. But still it's just an another guess. And I still don't understand why there is such a delay just for Russia/CIS when even for Korea and Taiwan there isn't, I think it's should be harder to ship the RoS discs there than to Russia. This is all what came to my mind, but maybe there is something else to it. I know, that some of you will agree with them without reason (and I accept this, even if I don't understand this) and some of you are ready to pay (or just can afford the price), but it doesn't mean, that Blizzard are right doing this.
  17. After reading through some of the threads here, most people seem to count card games as strategy games. So, in that case, does anyone else have a Beta invite to Hearthstone? I'm pretty new to the Beta, so i'm not amazing at the game, but none of my friends have been able to get a Beta key. My battle.net ID is Phoxly#1933. I think it would be really fun to play with some of you guys here on the AJSA forums. If you don't know what Hearthstone is, It's one of Blizzard's new games. I'll post a video below:
  18. Hey guys, i recently got into the open beta for hearthstone and wanted to open up the topic for discussion about it. In my opinion the game is well made, i really enjoy the RTS and competitive feel of the game. It is the first card game i play, and got used to it pretty fast, i don't know if the game might be made a bit too simple, but regardless of how simple the mechanics are, i still feel the need for complex strategic thinking in order to win games. I also don't feel the need to spend money (pay to win) since im currently 1 star gold in rank, and feeling like im doing decently well without having to spend money for packs and getting a big supply of rare cards and legendaries. But who knows, maybe in a higher rank i will feel the need to actually get legendaries, but for now i enjoy the challenge of playing agaisnt players with rare cards agaisnt my regular decks. If anyone is playing hearthstone right now, i would like to know your opinion about it and if anyone hasn't played it yet and would like to know more about, tell me and il add more information about it.
  19. Okay Let me start by saying this is the first time I have ever played in the Diablo franchise. I had no real desire to play the others but after one of my friends insisted that I try the Xbox360 version of Diablo 3 to get into Diablo. I don't know why I had never played these games before but now that I've played this game I am having trouble putting it down. This game has a fantastic setting that pulled me in and didn't let go. Unlike most games now a days it has four player local co-op, and let me tell you that makes for a fun night in the dorms. The story was alright but seemed to be a rushed however when it wasn't racing to the next part of the story it was compelling. Combat is deep with multiple abilities to each type of Class, however once you find out what works for you in combat it starts to become repetitive. Each Class is well thought out, very distinct, and Badass in their own way. The Wizard is a epic magic user working at a distance, The Monk is an agile up close warrior, The Barbarian is your Conan archetype, The Demon Hunter is the range biased guy who can jump from place to place like a boss, and last but not least is the Witch Doctor using voodoo to curse his foes and wreaking havoc through the dark arts. Me and my friends had a great time with this game and now that we have some of its higher difficulties it will be a blast playing through it again. 7.5/10 not bad. Pros- Good Co-op, Interesting world and characters, deep combat options, scratches the dark fantasy itch Cons- You will be a health potion Junky, Combat can turn repetitive, story can feel a tad rushed
  20. Just now it got me thinking what do us as a community think should be nerfed by blizzard next?
