  1. Who here is fan of the Ace Combat series? The recent E3 trailer for Ace Combat 7 got me to dig out my old Playstion 2 and start playing again. So far I've played through AC4 and AC0 and just started on AC5
  2. Hello. So I bought Bayonetta today, I've read so much positive feedback for the game's combat, how much depth It has and ETC. So I have a simple question, what makes the combat in a game enjoyable for you? Me personally? I really loved the combat in DmC 5 despite all the negative fanboy feedback, the game was awesome, all the moves linked with eachother naturally with a splendid sense of momentum, a good variety of weapons whose moves link with eachother allowing you to combine them all. The moves looked flashy and cool as DMC moves are supposed to be, also the mobillity and control over the battlefied with the hooks, the Chakram's pulling move and the double jump + glide. Also the Arkham City combat, I really like that one and I hate It when someone compares It to Assassins Creed combat, City is clearly superior in everyway just Batman has more animations than the whole AC franchise combined. Everytime I get the freeflow and start doing these incredible combos and linking them with Batman/Nightwing/Robing/Catwomans' gadgets was incredibly satisfying, I was just stunned at how much animations the characters had, like how when you finish a thug close to a wall you slam him at It but If It's not a whole wall but just a fence/banner they use It for a jump to finish them off. -Note to moderators/administrators: I accidently posted this topic in ''Suggestions'' please delete It, the name Is '' Combat in Games ''
  3. Hi folks, Yesterday I played a lot of PvP and I was realy frustrated by the way how people plays PvP. So I decided to write some basic so our members doest not dishoner Angry Army. I will be editing post so you can check it regulary. Also I expect that our PvP officer will add his post or will Edit mine. Basics Rule 1 - PvP is not about YOU its about yor TEAM I cant stress this enough. None of the PvP arenas can be won by your selves. Every is about goals. If you focus on completing them you will do much more than by just killin 100 players.. I will remind you of goals in arenas. Huttball - Love or hate it. Your goal is to score more points than enemy team. You are scoring point by bringing ball to enemy line. Team who scores 6 points first wins even when there is time. When there is a tie on time out victory goes to team which holds the ball in that time. Tips: Huttball is only arena where by killing oponents you actualy can ruin chances for your team! Attacking - When you have ball you need to push aside your oponents. Outmanuever them and lock them in local fights. But DO NOT KILL THEM. If you kill them they will spawn in their home base and if their shield is down you will find them defending place you need to go. Support, Heal, Protect your ball handler. Try to force oponents to attack you idealy in larger numbers... drag them out from the handler - whatever suits your role. Also you can move forward and wait on tactical places to recieve a ball. If you are carrying the ball - pass it forwand if you cant survive or if you see well placed team member (Idealy on different floor than you are). Stealth, Speed and good passing is far supperior to anything else you can do. Defending - Now you can unleast predator in you. When you are defending kills are encouraged. You will send them back and hold their push by that. Allways watch for ball handler. Its better to leave unfinished enemy than stop focusing handler. Slow is the key here. Slow their progres. Do not let them pass your main defence line. Keep few guys back just to kill anyone who is positioning to recieve ball and score (Mainly operatives and assassins) Final note: Huttball is mode where shine unbalance of the classes. If there is enemy who knows what to do and has good group for it. (Power tech tank, Assassin tank, 2x operative) You cant win - dont get frustrated its a game. Voidstar - Use your head and tactical positioning Your goal is to reach the data core (if attacking) or Defend it (if defending). Attack - Best known tactic is send majority of team on one door and to second you send 2 steathers with infinite stun. Then can capture it without sweat if enemy is not prepare for it (usualy he is not). During attack its needed to move through doors as soon as posible. Because times are compared during tie. Also if you defended last round first doors. When you as attacker break them, you win the game. Defend - Defence is crucial. When you do not let your enemies to place a bomb you have good advantage to next round (if there is one) or you have good chance to win. Never NEVER let the door guarder by only one person. If you do your propability to loose is near 100%. Tips: This is game of atrition. Most important thing here is to be able to fight long time. So resource management and healing are crucial. Try to save your resources to be able to make spikes if enemy is let say about half health acros visible team. You will be able to start avalanche of death. If you use your resources at the begining you risk that their healers will have time to mitigatge that and you will lack firepower (or healing power) when you need id most. Keep calm: PvP can be stresing but Voidstar is tactical game. You have to be avare of state of door you are protecting. Also you need to be avare of your resources, healtch and idealy positions of your team mates on map. Also watch chat. You can learn about problem and solve it. Hypergate Goal is to hold as many pylons as you can. If both teams have 1 pylon you gain points by transporting energy and by killing enemy players. Tips: As in Voidstar game is about defence and atrition. Keep your team together (Always guard Pylon with 2 or 3, rest can move the map). In combat remember that your death (or death of anyone in team) will cost you much. So usualy its more important to not give up life than take one. Dont be greedy. Play safe. Also if you have both pylons when reset comes you gain points of oposing tema (points are lock to pylon and are finaly writen to the team who holds it before reset) So it is good tactic to send 2-3 stealthers to get it lets say 30 secs before reset. Coast battle/Alderaan Goal is to capture control towers. Towers controls guns - Guns do damage to the target (Ship on alderaan and Bunker on coast) On coast you need to hold two at once to do damage (one tower does nothing) On Alderaan every tower does constant damage to the target. Main think is to decide whitch towers are important and focus ONLY on on two of them. Its pointless to split forces to try to get all three (Its good idea to sometimes send one man test the defences on last and thus force them to guard it and let you have one free man)
  4. Hey guys! Maghorn here. I would like to announce a new weekly event that I will be hosting in Space Engineers being called the AJSA Galactic Tournament. Every Sunday at 12 EST I will activate a new server I created for events only. The server features a space station with 8 hangers, one for each competitor to build in, and a tower for spectators. On the day of the event we will all meet on the AJSA Space Engineers Teamspeak server, where I will assign hangars and coordinate the event. First Match: Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM EST Postponed indefinitely do to lack of players. The server features some mods that will make ship building a bit more varied. The mods included are the Azimuth Industries Mega Mod Pack, Dark Mechanicus's Orb Cockpit and Darth Boimech's Armored Thrusters. Rules of Engagement Each round may feature a 1v1 or 2v2 battle in an asteroid field. Competitors will be assigned a hangar to build in before the battle begins. Each fighter will be given up to 15 minutes to build their spacecraft. Fighters may only equip up to 3 weapons total, have up to 2 gyroscopes and 4 small or 2 normal rear thrusters. Armored thrusters count as normal. All ships must fit within the yellow box in the hangar. DO NOT RAM OTHER SHIPS. It's just cheap. When all weapons, thrusters or the cockpit is disabled, the broken ship will be eliminated and left as an obstacle in the arena. The arena is the group of asteroids set a short flight from the hangars. Try not to fly too far from them. Spectating There will be two ways to view a battle. Using Spectator Mode Watching the battle on http://www.twitch.tv/maghornServer name: AJSA Event Server Sign up will be first come, first served. Leave a reply to this thread if you want to join the next match. Each Monday a new sign up sheet will be posted on the Space Engineers forum, so be sure to look for it if you want to join.   5. What were your Best Simulation games this year and last year? I Listed most of the common ones I see a lot on steam. Have one that isn't listed? No problem, just add a reply of the ones you think were the best. I am a heavy simulator fan. Why? Because you get to learn cool things which, to me at least, are fun. I feel Accomplished when ever I transport a bunch of soldiers from HQ to a LZ in a Huey (DCS: Huey) or send lander to planet Duna and make it back to Kerbin safely (KSP). Some people play it to just to show off or to troll around and I can tell you now, I am not one of them. Some people also say that it's "Boring", but so is COD after so many hours, Right? It doesn't hurt to try something new for a change. Who knows, you might even have to do these things in real life (in some simulators). That's why. Long live Simulators!

Greetings Fellow AJSA Members, Soldiers and High Commanders, I would like to propose from a lowly newb that has just signed up today to possibly rally together a clan or another such group of people that are die-hards for the realm of strategy. It is always a privilege watching your glorious armies on the field of battle inflicting as much pain and destruction as possible on your enemies and as such, cultivates a strong sense of competition and rivalry that matches even that of the ultra-dominant FPS and MOBA genres. Strategy games have always been an intense passion of mine and have been raising empires since the release of such timeless classics as Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Black and White and even Rise of Nations. I would very much love to see if there would be any interest for getting support together for creating a clan or reviving any dormant servers to allow players from all walks of life to come together and game in this particularly epic area of gaming. Whilst this may seem a self-indulgent piece of writing it would be a great honour if there could be any consideration to setting up a foundation upon which other like minded strategy gamers such as myself can meet up and take on other players in the spirit of good sportsmanship and pitting of wits. If there has been a debate like this in the past and a reasonable conclusion that was met on behalf of the AJSA council then I only wish that someone from the reigning hierarchy take pity on this plea and see if it can be explored for future gaming endeavours. It has been said that Angry Joe himself gets a little jumpy when he doesn't receive a fix of good old strategy every once in a while and I share in those very same feelings if I am not at the forefront of an epic battlefield and striking down the enemy in righteous fury! Thank you and I am very much looking forward to replies from across the board, be they simple suggestions to full fledged debate that can arise form this posting.   7. Does anyone know of a useful mod wich makes the close combat more interesting. Skyrim to me is one hell of a RPG but the sword fight sucks. I just don´t like it and I am trying to use the bow as much as possible but i can´t kill every enemy with only one arrow. So does anyone from the Angry Army know about such a mod.
