I've actually never seen so many people from an AAA studio respond so childishly to people questioning marketing choices as I have with this game, the game better review well, I'd hate to see how they react to people taking any issue with the finished product (probably something like the Suicide Squad actors saying that people who don't like the film aren't real people). Augs Lives Matter (Jim Sterling's Article) Other thoughts were given from multiple Bioware, Microsoft, Fallout/Far Cry developers, Paizo, and people who have written for Gamespot, IGN, Vice, Polygon, Giant Bomb, etc talking about marketing, poorly co-opting real world messages when you don't have confidence to create your own setting. Most who talked about it got/are getting outraged, troll, or racist responses. Always weird to see people who clearly don't care about video games spend so much on gaming sites or harassing critics and developers for large corporations, if the developers can't intelligently stand behind their own work no reason for random people giving them money to have a tantrum over it. Sad to see, I was looking forward to more intelligent commentary, but if you aren't being paid well it isn't healthy for most people to deal with gaming communities and reactionaries so it's understandable. Legolas_Katarn posted a topic in General DiscussionA Price Of Games Journalism It is interesting how often this tends to happen, and can make you wonder what other websites or magazines are blacklisted and by what companies for what reasons, though Kotaku's blacklists at least aren't related to negative reviews or coverage. Jim Sterling has mentioned Konami doing the same when he was at Destructoid over review scores. I saw someone mention that he was blacklisted by Sega while editing a magazine about Sega.
Alright, surprised I haven't seen this one out yet on the forums - correct me if I'm wrong - Fallout 4 may possibly be in development under the codename Institue. From files collected by Kotaku they've found many similarities in casting and scripts related to the Fallout Universe, most especially the line, "War. War never changes." Judging by the titles and this article by Gamespot: Set in Boston the game is rumored to be set exactly where that article says it is. But alright, I won't pursue farther - if you're interested, go take a gander at that link above. Or, you take it directly to the Kotaku article here. Enjoy and debate away. (Also, direct me to a post related to this and I'll happily request to take this down, so long as its within reason.)
