  1. Hey guys it has been ages since I shared anything on this forum. But I wanted to share a machinima with you that I starred in (ages ago). Well I was recently informed that production has picked up again and they are currently working on episode 4. I will admit that I was in the dark about it for a while but I am back on the project and I hope that if any on here like it, please share it. I know my client would appreciate it greatly (along with a small following on Youtube). Thank you and Enjoy. Episode 1: Escape Episode 2: The Missing Heir Episode 3: Hopeless Also if anyone wishes to listen to some of my random recordings I am also on Soundcloud now and you can find me here: https://soundcloud.com/patrick-l-dunn
  2. Hey guys. I am not sure if any of you will be interested but an audio drama I was on just got published. I felt like sharing it with you guys and hope you enjoy it. The play is called Another Time. It was written by Manic Expression creator James Daniel Walsh. It stars myself as Walker and Matti Mali as General Juho Kokkola. I don't want to say more as it isn't long and I don't want to spoil anything. If you are curious about Manic Expressions at all (especially if you an aspiring internet critic/blogger) then follow this link: http://www.manic-expression.com/ . Without further adieu, here is Another Time. Enjoy.
  3. I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet or not (I have looked and I haven't found one yet) but I have an insane idea for a game I would love to pitch to Bethesda and Obsidian (doubt I ever will but hey I can try right?). I have taken a lot of thought on it and I still haven't ironed out all of the issues, but I want to see what you guys thought. What if we had one game where the country of Tamriel was fused with the American Wastland? Or in lamen's terms, what if the worlds of Elder Scrolls and Fallout collided for one game? With the technology I have seen in all of the Fallout games (especially New Vegas in the Big MT) and the magics of the Elder Scrolls games it could theorectically possible to see a breach between these worlds and a gateway between them open up. For example some scientists try to harness the power to open up and escape from their world while on the other side some Daedric Lord is convincing a cult to use and Elder Scroll to open up a portal to another world and BAM! We have a fusion of the worlds. Not perfect but a basic idea thrown out there. For gameplay to balance out guns vs swords obviously the tear in reality may make some technology and magic go into flux. Arcane weapons and armor may be highly resistant or immune to energy weapons but magic may also be out of control and not function the way it used to. We could also see some hybrid technology like a gun that fires bolts fused with fire, electricity, radiation, ect. I mean creative ideas for tech could be limitless. We also could see new creatures and even new "races". Like Super Mutant versions of Mer (Elf) races, Mutanted trolls, ghoulified Khajit, Securitrons with Orc brains, Vampiric Raiders, etc. As I said it would be an interesting concept to work on. I could even see Cybernectic Dragons if the story could permit it. It also be interesting to see how the various factions and races would react to this breach. Like the Brotherhood of Steel taking arcane artifacts and weapons along with technology. The Aldmeri Dominion being besiged by Super Mutants and going into a genocidal killing spree. And new factions appearing with new agendas and new motivations (One I came up with was the Brotherhood of Blades which was made up of a renegade group of Blades and BOS trying to close the breach). The possibilites are endless. So what do you guys think? Am I just insane or does this sound like a good idea? Heck if you have some creative concepts for this please share it. I would love some feedback and especially some random creative ideas. Hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope to hear back from you guys.
  4. I had a friend recently tell me to join them in a game of SMITE online. My response was, "What the hell is SMITE?" I thought it was just another Facebook game, but what I found was something much more fun. As the rise of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games continue to grow in popularity another has reached the ranks. What makes it different? Well I have been loving it and I will explain why. Now what is SMITE exactly? Simply put it is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena similar to DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) and LOL (League of Legends). In this game you don't play as made up characters of fantastical realms, but you play as major gods of various mythologies. These include the Greek Olympians like Zues, Poseidon, and Hades; the Roman Parthenon like Vulcan, Mercury, and Bacchus; the Egyptian Gods like Ra, Anubis, and Bastet; the Norse Asgardians like Odin, Loki, and Thor; the Mayan Gods like Ah Muzen Cab, Hun Batz, and Xbalanque; the Hindu Deities like Kali, Agni, and Bakasura; and the Chinese Immortals like Sun Wukong, Guan Yu, and He Bo. Another major change is that this game is played from a third person perspective. Thus the controls are different than your average MOBA. You move around with the W,S,A, and D keys and attack with the mouse. I like the control scheme...but I know others may not be fans. Another little difference that I noticed with this game (although I may have missed it with other MOBA) is the incorporation of twitch tv with the game. What this does is you can stream live game sessions while you play if you wish. Granted I am still unfamiliar with twitch tv so I don't know a lot about it. The SMITE site will stream random sessions if you agree to let them do it. You may enjoy it or not. I honestly don't care either way right now. What are the problems? Well...the control scheme. As much as I love it I am annoyed with using the 1-4 keys to use abilities. Thus it can be a bit hard to aim abilities properly. I think you can change it so it is a minor complaint. The other complaint I have is the usual I have with games like DOTA and Infinite Crisis. I hate not having the full roster unlocked. 5 characters are unlocked immediately when you make an account (the ones unlocked depends on when you do it so it is slightly random) and 5 others are on random rotations. You can unlock more gods and skins either through micro transactions or from points earned in the game. Luckily practice mode will allow you practice with any character but playing online has most of the roster locked. Final Thoughts: I actually really enjoy this game. Weird controls aside I have always wanted to play a game where various deities go out and try to beat each other senseless (or as I call it a God War). Personally I would love to see Lovecraft Elder Gods added to this game or have Angels and Demons from Jeudeo-Christian belief added as well (granted that may cause some outrage, but I would like it) but I digress. It isn't perfect but I recommend a go if you are curious. You will either have a lot of fun or really hate it. If you like DOTA, League of Legends, or Infinite Crisis...you may be mixed about this game. If you like the idea of playing as Sobek running straight at Tyr for a death blow followed by Isis and Fenrir, then you may like this (lol). I personally recommend at least one go if nothing else. You can find me on the fields of battle as Maleficent5. I AM MALEFICENT5 AND THIS GAME HAS BEEN JUDGED! Link to game: http://www.hirezstudios.com/smitegame/home
