  1. Hey All, When I beat a game usually the first thing I want to do is talk about it with someone, doubly so if they've played it before themselves. I decided to make this topic so that people can do just that. I want people to give their first impressions of a game they've just finished playing. I also recognise that most people aren't just playing one game at a time (especially after the recent bank account emptying steam summer sale or a humble bundle that gives you a dozen new games to try) so want you to share what you think you're going to try and beat next. I heartily encourage people giving spoilers when they talk about what game they've just played so be warned folks. So I have just beaten Spec Ops: The Line after grabbing it in the current 2K Humble Bundle and wanted to share my thoughts in completing what I understand to have been a well regarded game at the time it came out. The Gameplay: Solid 3rd person shooter with a slow release of rail shooting elements, new guns and enemies to keep the gameplay just fresh enough to not lag behind the story. I'd recommend it, gameplay wise, if you ever enjoyed any of the ghost recon games though the tactical elements here are much more limited. Graphically: The game is interesting. A war game in a very unique setting. I was impressed that the character models for the three main characters changed as the game developed showing their personal wear and tear of a hard fought fight. Story (in spoilers) I did really enjoy the quick experience of the campaign which trims along at a nice pace. If you haven't grabbed the 2K humble bundle yet (https://www.humblebundle.com/) I'd recommend doing so because even if you owned/hated every other game on that list you'd still just be paying, as of posting, ~$8 for this shooter which I consider worth it. As for what I'm playing next? Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. I started playing it in the last hour and have really enjoyed what I've seen so far. The guys at Penny Arcade raved about it when they were playing it and they tend to have a pretty solid judgement when it comes to games I also like. I'm also downloading The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (I find it funny that the XCOM part is now in the subtitle after release) despite all the negative press it got to see if there is actually an decent game there. Finally I've got the two Telltale hit game The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us installed and ready to go. Looking forward to reading your replies guys, Dogfish Commander in Charge of the Moderation Staff
  2. Son of Rome was overall a fun game; with an interesting story, great cut scene cinematic, and great voice acting. But there are down sides. The game was pretty short, it lasted me about 6 and a half hours on the higher difficulties even the bosses took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to beat, they seem to have a really simple pattern, I don't know if it's just me. Also, the multiplayer lasted me a couple of weeks, it gets old kinda fast. I give Ryse: Son of Rome (7/10) ~PantherFangG
  3. The next Assassin's Creed is probably coming soon, so let's talk about where the next game is going to be. I personally would like to see Assassin's Creed in Japan. Instead of the white hood nonsense, how about we wear something stealthy, like ninja stuff. Plus the ninjas had some kill weapons; like those eggs with broken glass (I think there was also some sort of sauce or powder, I'm not sure, let me know if there was.) and the ninja stars and all that. So I think Japan would be a nice place for the next game. So tell me what location you would like to see next in an Assassin's Creed game. ~PantherFangG
  4. Edit: Now we have confirmation for next month Mass Effect trailer! It will reveal the title of the game and a CGI trailer http://stickskills.com/2013/11/08/new-mass-effect-announcement-vga-2013/ This information appeared to be false. I'm a bit disappointed now :c --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was surfing the net, and this caught my attention: http://www.dsogaming.com/news/bioware-teases-incoming-announcement-for-the-next-chapter-of-mass-effect/ "The next chapter of Mass Effect is upon us" Exciting? Very. I want to see what the universe has to offer us in the next game. I loved all three previous games. They have a special place in my heart for the amazing characters, universe and story.
  5. I'm honestly not that interested in knack but I do like the art style but everyone I know isn't interested at all, so is all the hard work the developers put in going to be worth it in the end? I don't know, I was just wondering what anyone else thought of knack
  6. What's your first impressions of the PS4? I'm in Ireland so I have to wait until the 29th so I was wondering what the people who have bought the console think of it?
  7. I´m living in Germany and we have still 2 weeks to go before the PS4 launches here. But I watched the All-Acess event and I´m starting to be jealous a bit^^. Tell me how it was or are you all playing your new console the whole week without visiting the army.
  8. Ok so after having had a look at everything for the next gen consoles I am going PS4 and i have some good reasons for that. Power now somthing that i noticed on IGN (http://bit.ly/HLLY0r) is that COD:Ghosts runs at 720p on Xbox One but nativly runs 1080p on PS4 now having a look at this comparison chart(Again IGN http://bit.ly/1d5FGCB) we can see the multiple improvements from the PS4 1. Price. Now I live in Australia and for whatever reason all game stuff is more expensive (Games $80) and so the PS4 is $550 and the Xbox One is $600 so there isnt so much of a jump but i know that in America the PS4 is $400 and the Xbox One is $500 So that is a big jump 2. Ram. ok so this is obvious. PS4 8GB DDR5 and Xbox One 8GB DDR3 Ram 3. Subsciption services. Ok for me im sad that PS4 now needs Playstation Plus but unless you like multiplayer you still have access to everything else like Hulu or even a web browser for free but on Xbox You need a Subsription to Xbox live gold to use those things. Also Playstation Plus Has your Instatnt Game Collection where you get tonnes of AAA free game (At the moment http://bit.ly/159R6kE) 4.GPU. ok PS4 has AMD Radeon Graphics core Next Engine With 1152 Shaders Xbox one 853MHz AMD Radeon GPU With 768 Shaders.....PS4 Win 5. Most importantly GAMES ok so these are launch window games (http://bit.ly/1cJ4Haw) PS4 has 9 Extra Exclusives at the moment witch is huge now looking at launch day PS4 mainly has Killzone and Knack and Resogun and Xbox One has Dead Rising, Ryse and Forza. But what people don't seem to see is that PS4 has F2P Launch Games and good ones too, Blacklight Retribution, Warframe and DC Universe Online. Now i think Ryse son of rome looks like a button masshy quick time bore fest. Forza is good for racing fans but dead rising is the only game i am interested in but recently it has been found that it runs 720p at 30fps tututut. PS4 Launch Games (http://bit.ly/1gJ0ToX) Xbox One (http://bit.ly/17SFEha) So there you have it "MY" opinion on next gen this is more a look at the hardware and if you are still Happy to get the Xbox one then more power to you. But till next time SIRTROLLBUSCUS OUT!!!!!!! P.s If you want to read more of my writings please visit http://fjhgames.com/
