  1. R.U.S.E makes me love gaming every time I play it. It's not a perfect game, but it does a lot right. Especially since it's a console RTS released in 2010. Watch this video if you like war strategy AND VICTORIOUS DESTRUCTION!!
  2. I'm limiting this to Sega Genesis to Sega Dreamcast. I didn't include the GameGear Games because chances are all of 2 people would remember them that read this topic, plus I honestly can't remember if there was music in those games. Btw, my vote=Sonic 3. If I missed any, please let me know. Edit: Added Sonic R.
  3. Knee-Deep in the Dead is an ongoing series studying the evolution of the First-Person Shooter from the early days of the genre to today. Season 1 primarily focuses on the most important titles released in the FPS "Golden Age", between 1992 and 2001. The first episode showcased the "grandfather" of the FPS-genre, Wolfenstein 3D: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldJZevsAl44 Some of my favorite episodes I've done so far include: Doom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5EfGAA01Gk Duke Nukem 3D: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVVKqA50Yyc Goldeneye 007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWQ7CUzUjMA And Half-Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmXee4QUmvQ The latest episode was dedicated to Quake 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYMgscAAsJs This series was created because I has played recent FPS campaigns and found them very lacking. In part inspired by videos by Zero Punctuation and Total Biscuit, I figured the best way to find out what went "wrong" was to go back to the beginning and trace the genre back to its roots and some of its most influential games. I try to get an episode out every 2 weeks at maximum, but the time can vary since I try to play each game to completion so I can form a full opinion on it. I plan to update this feed with each new episode. About myself, I've been gaming since I got a used NES back in the very early 90s. I generally stick to PC but own a 360 just in case. The first FPS I ever played was Doom on the Sega 32X. It was really a horrible port and I was very surprised when I played the ACTUAL version of Doom how good it was. I appreciated any feedback or comments from the community. Thank you and as always, game on and take care! -N'Eligahn
  4. Found an old gem from my childhood recently, "Def Jam:Fight For New York" for the Xbox original. Love this game. Anyway I'm curious to know what your favorite retro/old fighters are. Maybe try mentioning some not-so-popular/ Sleeper hits other than the usual like: Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct.
  5. So JRPGs have been around for along time, ever since the NES days as far as I know, such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, (or Dragon Warrior on NES) and for those that play them what's your favorite, and those that are reading this, the kind of JRPGs I'm talking about are the turn-based combat ones such as Final Fantasy.
  6. HEY ALL, Just wondering what peoples thoughts on doing more retro gaming here are?
  7. Pick your favorite game from the console you picked
  8. We all have those games from the early 2000's and even in the 90's or 80's that we love and continue to love to this day, unless you play it when your older then you find out it's a piece of crap, but for me it would be Majora's Mask, and it's also my favorite game of all time.
  9. A retro review for Vagrant Story. I take a look at all of the elements of the game and address them one at a time. This was a labor of love over the course of a month and a half, I hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZVnYaX9HHI
  10. I'm not sure whether this is the best way to post my content, it's the format of how i've posted user content in previous forums (if an issue arises with such, I will immediately remove it upon request), but, here goes... I'm Caz, I specialize in video game reviews & critique in an informative, somewhat lengthy manner, but will also take some time to deliver a raunchy rant, a look at a video game anime adaptation, as well as take a look at the inspirations and history of certain titles or series. An example of the usual output you'd see from me would be as such: I also do some writing on Screwattack and have a Twitter/Facebook for the channel, but here's not the place to post that for now. In the mean time, feel free to check out my channel here, follow this post if you enjoy what you see, give some feedback on what you have seen, send some requests, chocolate boxes or whatever you feel like. Go wild and game on my friends! -Caz(TheGamerGuy... Yes the name of the channel is stupid and will likely change in the near future)
  11. No consoles before the N64, PS1, Sega Saturn (n64 ps1 and Sega Saturn are counted). I choose Super Mario World SNES
  12. I think everybody has had at least one crush on a video game character, maybe its because their voice was awesome or their personality was amazing.... or it was because she had big boobs (Looking at you, Mortal Kombat ) but anyway, here's a place where you can spill the beans! Mine I'm embarrassed to say are Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil, Dante from the old Devil May Cry games, Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed 2 and Edward Kenway from Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
  13. Soldiers I would like to introduce myself to our community. I'm a 26 old gaming veteran and a true gaming la lo le li lu (ekhm... patriot), and conspiracy theories fan (The Truth Is Out There) I was playing games since I was a kid, starting my gaming adventure with NES and C64 and till today I'm a huge fan of retro consoles and arcade machines. Till today I've manage to collect a lot of classic/retro consoles like NES, SNES, Sega Megadrive, Sega Master Systems and MS II, Sega CD, Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Xbox Classic, PSX, Gameboy Classic, Color and Advance as well as retro computers like Amiga 500, C64, ZX Spectrum and soon i'll try to review them and record some gameplays, to show younger generation beauty of retro gaming. I'm a huge fan of Shooters, sidescrollers, arcades, strategy games, and action adventure ones, and hope that my contribution to this society will profit us all. And remember these quotes: "War Has Changed" and “Thank you Mario! But our Princess is in another castle!” That's all Soldiers
  14. So anyone else out there a retro games collector? At the moment my collection consists of: Atari 2600 SNES N64 Playstation 1 Xbox Atari Lynx Gameboy Gameboy Color Gameboy Advance Intellivision Sega Mega Drive Thats it for the moment (not including the latest consoles), next on the list is a NES. Main aim is to get a killer games room built, along with the MAME arcade machine I am currently building. Anyways anyone else a collector? if so list what you have here.
